In this paper, we apply new results on variational relation problems obtained by D. T. Luc (J Optim Theory Appl 138:65–76, 2008) to generalized quasi-equilibrium problems. Some sufficient conditions on the existence of its solutions of generalized quasi-equilibrium problems are shown. As special cases, we obtain several results on the existence of solutions of generalized Pareto and weak quasi-equilibrium problems concerning C-pseudomonotone multivalued mappings. We deduce also some results on the existence of solutions to generalized vector Pareto and weakly quasivariational inequality and vector Pareto quasi-optimization problems with multivalued mappings.  相似文献

We use a model theoretic approach to investigate properties of local-global principles for positive primitive formulas in spaces of orderings, such as the existence of bounds and the axiomatizability of local-global principles. As a consequence we obtain various classes of special groups satisfying local-global principles for all positive primitive formulas, and we show that local-global principles are preserved by some natural constructions in special groups.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): 11E81, 03C65Acknowledgement This research was undertaken while both authors were partially suported by the European RTN Network (HPRN-CT-2001-00271) on real algebraic and analytic geometry.  相似文献

Let K be an algebraically closed field of finite characteristic p, and let be an integer. In the paper, we give a character formula for all simple rational representations of with highest weight any multiple of any fundamental weight. Our formula is slightly more general: say that a dominant weight λ is special if there are integers such that and . Indeed, we compute the character of any simple module whose highest weight λ can be written as with all are special. By stabilization, we get a character formula for a family of irreducible rational -modules. Received: June 30, 1997.  相似文献

We study a new simple quadrature rule based on integrating a C 1 quadratic spline quasi-interpolant on a bounded interval. We give nodes and weights for uniform and non-uniform partitions. We also give error estimates for smooth functions and we show that our formula is a useful companion to Simpson’s rule. AMS subject classification (2000)  41A15, 65D07, 65D25, 65D32  相似文献

Let Ω be a rectangular bounded domain of a plane equipped with a rectangular partition Δ. Assume a piecewise bivariate function that is differentiable up to order (k,l) except at the knots of Δ, where it is less differentiable. In this paper, we introduce a new method for smoothing the above function at the knots. More precisely, we describe algorithms allowing one to transform it into another function that will be differentiable up to order (k,l) in the whole domain Ω. Then, as an application of this method, we give a recursive computation of tensor product Hermite spline interpolants. To illustrate our results, some numerical examples are presented. Summary. In this paper we analyze a family of discontinuous Galerkin methods, parameterized by two real parameters, for elliptic problems in one dimension. Our main results are: (1) a complete inf-sup stability analysis characterizing the parameter values yielding a stable scheme and energy norm error estimates as a direct consequence thereof, (2) an analysis of the error in L2 where the standard duality argument only works for special parameter values yielding a symmetric bilinear form and different orders of convergence are obtained for odd and even order polynomials in the nonsymmetric case. The analysis is consistent with numerical results and similar behavior is observed in two dimensions.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): 65M60, 65M15Research supported by: The Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education  相似文献

Summary. For computations of planetary motions with special linear multistep methods an excellent long-time behaviour is reported in the literature, without a theoretical explanation. Neither the total energy nor the angular momentum exhibit secular error terms. In this paper we completely explain this behaviour by studying the modified equation of these methods and by analyzing the remarkably stable propagation of parasitic solution components.Mathematics Subject Classification (1991): 65L06, 65P10  相似文献

A popular practical way to estimate the error in numerical integration is to use two cubature formulae. In this paper we give a lower bound for the number of function evaluations necessary to approximate the integral and the error.Communicated by Ronald A. It is well-known that every quasi-p-injective module has C2-condition. In this note, it is shown that for a quasi-p-injective module M which is a self-generator, if M is projective, duo and semiperfect, then M is continuous. As a special case we re-obtain a result of Puninski-Wisbauer-Yousif saying that, a semiperfect ring R is right continuous if it is right duo, right p-injective.AMS Subject Classifications (1991): 16D50, 16D70, 16D80Supported by The Royal Golden Jubilee Project  相似文献

Let Γ be a word hyperbolic group M. Gromov has constructed a compact space equipped with a flow which is defined up to orbit-equivalence and which is called the geodesic flow of Γ. In the special case where Γ is the fundamental group of a Riemannian manifold of negative sectional curvature, is the unit tangent bundle of the manifold equipped with the usual geodesic flow. In this paper, we construct, for every hyperbolic group Γ, a subshift of finite type and a continuous map from the suspension of this subshift onto , which is uniformly bounded-to-one and which sends each orbit of the suspension flow onto an orbit of the geodesic flow. Summary. We establish multiresolution norm equivalences in weighted spaces L 2 w ((0,1)) with possibly singular weight functions w(x)≥0 in (0,1). Our analysis exploits the locality of the biorthogonal wavelet basis and its dual basis functions. The discrete norms are sums of wavelet coefficients which are weighted with respect to the collocated weight function w(x) within each scale. Since norm equivalences for Sobolev norms are by now well-known, our result can also be applied to weighted Sobolev norms. We apply our theory to the problem of preconditioning p-Version FEM and wavelet discretizations of degenerate elliptic and parabolic problems from finance. Summary. We design numerical schemes for systems of conservation laws with boundary conditions. These schemes are based on relaxation approximations taking the form of discrete BGK models with kinetic boundary conditions. The resulting schemes are Riemann solver free and easily extendable to higher order in time or in space. For scalar equations convergence is proved. We show numerical examples, including solutions of Euler equations.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): 65M06, 65M12, 76M20Correspondence to: D. Aregba-Driollet  相似文献

In the framework of the Jacobi-weighted Besov spaces, we analyze the lower and upper bounds of errors in the hp version of boundary element solutions on quasiuniform meshes for elliptic problems on polygons. Both lower bound and upper bound are optimal in h and p, and they are of the same order. The optimal convergence of the hp version of boundary element method with quasiuniform meshes is proved, which includes the optimal rates for h version with quasiuniform meshes and the p version with quasiuniform degrees as two special cases. Our aim in this paper is to obtain error expansions in the Gauss–Turán quadrature formula ∫−11f(t)w(t) dt=∑ν=1ni=02sAi,νf(i)ν)+Rn,s(f), in the case when f is an analytic function in some region of the complex plane containing the interval [−1,1] in its interior. Using a representation of the remainder term Rn,s(f) in the form of contour integral over confocal ellipses, we obtain Rn,1(f) for the four Chebyshev weights and Rn,2(f) for the Chebyshev weight of the first kind. Also, we get a few new L1-estimates of the remainder term, which are stronger than the previous ones. Some numerical results, illustrations and comparisons are also given. Summary. In this paper we derive accurate numerical methods for the quantum Boltzmann equation for a gas of interacting bosons. The schemes preserve the main physical features of the continuous problem, namely conservation of mass and energy, the entropy inequality and generalized Bose-Einstein distributions as steady states. These properties are essential in order to develop schemes that are able to capture the energy concentration behavior of bosons. In addition we develop fast algorithms for the numerical evaluation of the resulting quadrature formulas which allow the final schemes to be computed only in O(N2 log 2N) operations instead of O(N3).Mathematics Subject Classification (2000):82C10, 76P05, 65D32, 65T50This work was supported by the WITTGENSTEIN AWARD 2000 of Peter Markowich, financed by the Austrian Research Fund FWF and by the European network HYKE, funded by the EC as contract HPRN-CT-2002-00282.  相似文献

On testing extreme value conditions   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Applications of univariate extreme value theory rely on certain as- sumptions. Recently, two methods for testing these extreme value conditions are derived by [Dietrich, D., de Haan, L., Hüsler, J., Extremes 5: 71–85, (2002)] and [Drees, H., de Haan, L., Li, D., J. Stat. Plan. Inference, 136: 3498–3538, (2006)]. In this paper we compare the two tests by simulations and investigate the effect of a possible weight function by choosing a parameter, the test error and the power of each test. The conclusions are useful for extreme value applications.  相似文献

Summary. This paper introduces a new class of equal-weight integration rules on the hypercube. The points are cyclically generated in a different way to the method of good lattice points. The main justification for these integration rules is that they are capable of having high degree under a slight modification to the definition of degree. Some theorems are presented which provide conditions under which congruential integration rules exist for degree up to thirteen. Actual integration rules are provided for up to seven million points and up to five hundred dimensions.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): 65D30, 65D32Acknowledgement I would like to thank the editors and referees for their very many helpful and knowledgeable comments.  相似文献

Summary. A parameter estimation problem for ellipsoid fitting in the presence of measurement errors is considered. The ordinary least squares estimator is inconsistent, and due to the nonlinearity of the model, the orthogonal regression estimator is inconsistent as well, i.e., these estimators do not converge to the true value of the parameters, as the sample size tends to infinity. A consistent estimator is proposed, based on a proper correction of the ordinary least squares estimator. The correction is explicitly given in terms of the true value of the noise variance.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): 65D15, 65D10, 15A63Revised version received August 15, 2003  相似文献

Summary. We examine a class of symmetric collocation schemes for the solution of nonlinear boundary value problems for unstructured nonlinear systems of differential-algebraic equations with arbitrary index. We show that these schemes converge with the same orders as one would expect for ordinary differential equations. In particular, we show superconvergence for a special choice of the collocation points. We demonstrate the efficiency of the new approach with some numerical examples.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): 65L10Revised version received November 21, 2003Supported by DFG research grant Ku964/4.Supported by DFG research grant Me790/11.  相似文献

In this paper we study weighted function spaces of type B(?n, Q(x)) and F(?n, Q(x)), where Q(x) is a weight function of at most polynomial growth. Of special interest are the weight functions Q(x) = (1 + |x|2)α/2 with α ? ?. The main result deals with estimates for the entropy numbers of compact embeddings between spaces of this type.  相似文献
