For a Gelfand type semilinear elliptic equation we extend some known results for the Dirichlet problem to the Steklov problem. This extension requires some new tools, such as non-optimal Hardy inequalities, and discovers some new phenomena, in particular a different behavior of the branch of solutions and three kinds of blow-up for large solutions in critical growth equations. We also show that small values of the boundary parameter play against strong growth of the nonlinear source.  相似文献

Variational iteration method has been successfully implemented to handle linear and nonlinear differential equations. The main property of the method is its flexibility and ability to solve nonlinear equations accurately and conveniently. In this paper, first, a general framework of the variational iteration method is presented for analytic treatment of differential equations of fractional order where the fractional derivatives are described in Caputo sense. Second, the new framework is used to compute approximate eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions for boundary value problems with fractional derivatives. Numerical examples are tested to show the pertinent features of this method. This approach provides a new way to investigate eigenvalue problems with fractional order derivatives.  相似文献

We consider initial boundary value problems for parabolic differential equations with rapidly oscillating coefficients in thin perforated domains of rapidly varying thickness. Under certain symmetry conditions on the domain and coefficients, we construct an asymptotic expansion of a solution to the problem with homogeneous third kind conditions on the exterior boundary and the boundary of cavities. In the case of inhomogeneous Neumann conditions, we construct an asymptotic solution without symmetry assumptions and prove an asymptotic estimate in the corresponding Sobolev space. We deal with homogenization problem for nonlinear elliptic and parabolic equations in a periodically perforated domain, a nonlinear Fourier boundary conditions being imposed on the perforation border. Under the assumptions that the studied differential equation satisfies monotonicity and 2-growth conditions and that the coefficient of the boundary operator is centered at each level set of unknown function, we show that the problem under consideration admits homogenization and derive the effective model. We study nth order boundary value problems with a nonlinear term f(t,x) subject to nonhomogeneous multi-point boundary conditions. Criteria for the existence of positive solutions of such problems are established. Conditions are determined by the relationship between the behavior of f(t,x)/x near 0 and ∞ when compared with the smallest positive characteristic value of an associated linear integral operator. This work improves and extends some recent results in the literature for the second order problems. The results are illustrated with examples.  相似文献

In this article, we study a type of nonlinear fractional boundary value problem with integral boundary conditions. By constructing an associated Green's function, applying spectral theory and using fixed point theory on cones, we obtain criteria for the existence, multiplicity and nonexistence of positive solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, the upper and lower solution method and Schauder’s fixed point theorem are employed in the study of boundary value problems for a class of second-order impulsive ordinary differential equations with nonlinear boundary conditions. We prove the existence of solutions to the problem under the assumption that there exist lower and upper solutions associated with the problem.  相似文献

In this paper, we use nonic-spline polynomial method for the numerical solution of special nonlinear sixth-order two-point boundary value problems. The main idea is to use the conditions of continuity as discretization equations for the sixth-order boundary value problem. The end conditions are derived for defined spline. A new approach for convergence analysis of the presented method discussed. Some examples are solved to illustrate the applications of method, and to compare the computed results with other existing known methods.  相似文献

Boundary value problems for the Poisson equation are considered in a multilevel thick junction consisting of a junction body and a lot of alternating thin rectangles of two levels depending on their lengths. Rectangles of the first level have a finite length, whereas rectangles of the second level have a length ε α , 0 < α < 1, where ε is the alternation period. On the boundary of thin rectangles, an inhomogeneous Neumann boundary condition involving additional perturbation parameters is imposed. We prove convergence theorems for solutions and energy integrals. Regarding the convergence of solutions of the original problem to solutions of the homogenized problem, we establish some (auxiliary) estimates necessary for obtaining the convergence rate.
