The propagation dynamics of the Airy Gaussian vortex beams in uniaxial crystals orthogonal to the optical axis has been investigated analytically and numerically. The propagation expression of the beams has been obtained. The propagation features of the Airy Gaussian vortex beams are shown with changes of the distribution factor and the ratio of the extraordinary refractive index to the ordinary refractive index. The correlations between the ratio and the maximum intensity value during the propagation, and its appearing distance have been investigated.  相似文献

The propagation dynamics of a chirped Airy vortex(CAiV) beam with x-polarization in uniaxial crystals orthogonal to the optical axis is studied analytically and numerically. The effect of the ratio of extraordinary and ordinary refractive indices, the chirp parameter, as well as the propagation distance is analyzed, which shows that the focused position of the CAi V beams can be controlled through changing the ratio of the extraordinary and ordinary refractive indices. In addition,with the propagation distance increasing, the asymmetry of the intensity and the angular momentum of the CAi V beam during propagation becomes much more visible. The variation of the chirp parameters can change the attenuation velocity of the vortex as well.  相似文献

We investigate periodic inversion and phase transition of normal and displaced finite-energy Airy beams propagating in nonlocal nonlinear media with the split-step Fourier method. Numerical simulation results show that parameters such as the degree of nonlocality and amplitude have profound effects on the intensity distribution of the period of an Airy beam. Nonlocal nonlinear media will reduce into a harmonic potential if the nonlocality is strong enough, which results in the beam fluctuating in an approximately cosine mode. The beam profile changes from an Airy profile to a Gaussian one at a critical point, and during propagation the process repeats to form an unusual oscillation. We also briefly discus the two-dimensional case, being equivalent to a product of two one-dimensional cases.  相似文献

In this Letter, we demonstrate the general propagation dynamics of an Airy beam (AiB) carrying unit phase singularity, i.e., optical vortices (OVs). For the OV with a unit charge, theoretical analysis indicates that the OV carried by the AiB will propagate along the parabolic trajectory with an acceleration velocity twice as fast as conventional AiBs before a critical position. Thereafter, the AiB main lobe destroyed by OV will be reconstructed and the phase singularity will reappear in the middle of the AiB profile.  相似文献

We demonstrate both theoretically and experimentally that optical Airy beams propagating in free space can perform ballistic dynamics akin to those of projectiles moving under the action of gravity. The parabolic trajectories of these beams as well as the motion of their center of gravity were observed in good agreement with theory. The possibility of circumventing an obstacle placed in the path of the Airy beam is discussed.  相似文献

We present an investigation on the propagation properties of the chirped Airy vortex(CAi V) beams through slabs of left-handed materials(LHMs) and right-handed materials(RHMs). We discuss the influence of chirped parameter C on the propagation of the CAi V beams through LHM and RHM slabs. Our simulation results show that a maximum accelerated velocity appears during the propagation process. The intensity concentration of the CAi V beams increases with the absolute value of the chirped parameter. The peak intensity of the CAi V beams changes abruptly, and the chirped parameter plays an active role on the difference of the maximum and the minimum. In the energy flow, we find that the effects of the chirped parameter on the strength of the vortex are different at different propagation distances.  相似文献

We numerically investigate the propagation properties of ring Airy Gaussian beams(RAGBs) with cosine modulated optical vortices(CMOV). In comparison to the common RAGBs without any modulation, the dynamic propagation of RAGBs with CMOV exhibits a unique feature: the rings of RAGBs with CMOV will gradually shrink into several main lobes with the increase of the propagation distance. The number of lobes and the peak intensity of each lobe are determined by the factors of cosine modulated function. By designing the initial phase,we can easily change the transversal location of the peak intensity. Our results may find potential applications in optical manipulations.  相似文献

We investigate the propagation properties and M2 factor of a vortex Airy beam. The expression of M2 factor as a function of the modulation parameters ax and ay is analytically obtained. The results indicate that the M2 factor can achieve minimum M2=2.33 when ax=ay=1.026 for the m=1st order vortex Airy beam. For m=2, the M2 factor can achieve minimum M2=7.53 when ax=1.601 and ay=0.529 (or ay=1.601 and ax=0.529). These results indicate that the far field divergence of the beam width in the sense of root-mean-square beam is related to modulation parameters ax and ay, and increases with increasing vortex order. Numerical calculations provide an intuitive physical picture for the effect of the modulation parameters on the propagation of the vortex Airy beam.  相似文献

We study the abruptly autofocusing and autodefocusing properties of the circular Airy Gaussian vortex(CAi GV)beams in strongly nonlocal nonlinear medium for the first time through numerical simulations.The magnitude of topological charges and the position of the vortex could change not only the light spot pattern but also the intensity contrast.Meanwhile,we can change the position of the autofocusing and autodefocusing planes by changing the parameter of the incident beam.Furthermore,we can control the peak intensity contrast through choosing properly the truncation factor.As for the radiation force,we study the gradient and the scattering forces of CAi GV beams on Rayleigh dielectric sphere.Our analyses demonstrate that the radiation force can be enhanced by choosing proper parameters of CAi GV beams.  相似文献

Based on the fact that a hard-edged aperture function can be expanded into a finite sum of complex Gaussian functions, we obtain the analytical formula for the propagation of the Airy beams in free space and through the fractional Fourier transformation (FrFT) system. According to the derived formulas, the propagation properties of the Airy beams in free space and through the FrFT plane with a hard-edged aperture are illustrated numerically.  相似文献

The propagation dynamics of an Airy beam superimposed with a unit topological charge optical vortex is investigated analytically and numerically in uniaxial crystals orthogonal to the optical axis. Upon propagation, the Airy vortex beam is mainly dependent on the ratio of the extraordinary refractive index to the ordinary refractive index. Due to the anisotropic effect of the crystals, the acceleration of an Airy vortex beam in the transversal direction along the optical axis is more rapidly than that in the other transversal direction, which is alike to a conventional Airy beam but with twice the vortex acceleration velocity.  相似文献

Vortex splitting is one of the main causes of instability in orbital angular momentum(OAM) modes transmission. Recent advances in OAM modes free-space propagation have demonstrated that abruptly autofocusing Airy vortex beams(AAVBs) can potentially mitigate the vortex splitting effect. However, different modes of vortex embedding will affect the intensity gradients of the background beams, leading to changes in the propagation characteristics of vortex beams. This study presents the unification of two common methods of coupling autofocusing Airy beams with vortices by introducing a parameter(m), which also controls the intensity gradients and focusing properties of the AAVBs. We demonstrate that vortex splitting can be effectively reduced by selecting an appropriate value of the parameter(m) according to different turbulence conditions. In this manner,the performance of OAM-based free-space optical systems can be improved.  相似文献

Based on the ABCD matrix formalism,the propagation property of an Airy beam from right-handed material(RHM) to left-handed material(LHM) is investigated.The result shows that when the Airy beam propagates in the LHM,the intensity self-bending due to its propagation in the RHM can be compensated.In particular,if the propagation distance in the RHM is equal to that in the LHM and the refractive index of the LHM is n L =-1,the transverse intensity distribution of the Airy beam can return to its original state.  相似文献

研究了超高斯涡旋光束光强最大值、光斑半径以及环围能量半径等参数随传输距离和拓扑荷数的变化规律,并与高斯涡旋光束做了比较,结果表明:超高斯涡旋光束的光斑半径和环围能量半径随拓扑荷数及传输距离呈近似线性关系;对同一拓扑荷数和传输距离,高斯涡旋光束的能量较超高斯涡旋光束要发散;当拓扑荷数较大时,超高斯涡旋光束的光斑半径比高斯涡旋光束更大。针对光束质量研究了广义光束质量因子随传输距离和拓扑荷数的变化,结果表明传输距离足够远时,拓扑荷数较小的超高斯涡旋光束具有更好的光束质量。  相似文献

本文采用分步相位屏方法来仿真椭圆涡旋光束在海洋中的实际传输情况,并对椭圆涡旋光束在海洋湍流中的传输光强和闪烁因子进行了仿真。研究发现,椭圆涡旋光束在海洋传输过程中,光斑会发生明显的旋转,同时光斑会产生暗核且暗核个数与光束的拓扑荷数相等。一个拓扑荷数为m的相位奇点会分裂成m个拓扑荷数为1的相位奇点,并且海洋湍流越强,光斑受到的干扰越严重。研究还发现,在较弱的海洋湍流中,随着传输距离的增加,椭圆涡旋光束的闪烁因子会低于高斯光束和涡旋光束的闪烁因子,而且在远距离处拓扑荷数越大闪烁因子降低越明显,同时也发现,传播一段距离后涡旋光束的闪烁因子会低于高斯光束的闪烁因子。在较强湍流中,椭圆涡旋光束的闪烁因子会交叠在一起。对于不同强度的海洋湍流,随着均方温度耗散率的增大,椭圆涡旋光束的轴上点闪烁因子也增大。在同一传输距离处,束腰宽度越小的椭圆涡旋光束闪烁因子越小。  相似文献

In this Letter, we experimentally studied the propagation dynamics of Airy beams (AiBs) carrying phase singularity or an optical vortex (OV). A 3/2 phase mask encoded with phase singularity was used to generate AiBs and OVs enjoying precise position alignment and compact optical configuration simultaneously. Experimental results showed that the OV deflection velocity was faster than that of the main lobe of the AiB, agreeing with the analytical prediction. Numerical simulation results are also in agreement with the experimental results. Furthermore, OVs with larger topological charges were also studied experimentally with the same approach.  相似文献

Analytical propagation expression of a radial Airy array beam in coherent and incoherent combination passing through paraxial ABCD system is derived, and used to investigate the effect of combination scheme, array orientation and initial phase of Airy beamlet on propagation dynamics of the resulting beam in free space, where optical spot array and vortex array with different shapes are also found, respectively. And then taking four-beamlet Airy array beam in same array orientation as an example, square optical spot array obtained in focal field can be used for simultaneous trapping multiple Rayleigh particles with relative refractive index larger than 1. The transverse gradient forces serving as restore forces tend to push particles at different initial positions to their individual optical spot center. The analysis of trapping stability indicates that larger input peak intensity of Airy beamlet and smaller particle size are benefit to trapping particle owing to many deeper potential wells. Vortex array produced by coherent combined Airy array beam in this paper is expected to be useful for simultaneous trapping microparticles with relative refractive index smaller than 1.  相似文献

A two-dimensional field that is a product of three Airy beams is proposed and investigated. It is shown that the Fourier image of this field has a cubic phase and a radially symmetric intensity with a super-Gaussian decrease.
