Lyapunov spectra for KMS states on Cuntz-Krieger algebras

We study relations between (H,β)-KMS states on Cuntz-Krieger algebras and the dual of the Perron-Frobenius operator . Generalising the well-studied purely hyperbolic situation, we obtain under mild conditions that for an expansive dynamical system there is a one-one correspondence between (H,β)-KMS states and eigenmeasures of for the eigenvalue 1. We then apply these general results to study multifractal decompositions of limit sets of essentially free Kleinian groups G which may have parabolic elements. We show that for the Cuntz-Krieger algebra arising from G there exists an analytic family of KMS states induced by the Lyapunov spectrum of the analogue of the Bowen-Series map associated with G. Furthermore, we obtain a formula for the Hausdorff dimensions of the restrictions of these KMS states to the set of continuous functions on the limit set of G. If G has no parabolic elements, then this formula can be interpreted as the singularity spectrum of the measure of maximal entropy associated with G. Perron-Frobenius operators and representations of the Cuntz-Krieger algebras for infinite matrices

In this paper we extend the work of Kawamura, see [K. Kawamura, The Perron-Frobenius operators, invariant measures and representations of the Cuntz-Krieger algebras, J. Math. Phys. 46 (2005)], for Cuntz-Krieger algebras OA for infinite matrices A. We generalize the definition of branching systems, prove their existence for any given matrix A and show how they induce some very concrete representations of OA. We use these representations to describe the Perron-Frobenius operator, associated to a nonsingular transformation, as an infinite sum and under some hypothesis we find a matrix representation for the operator. We finish the paper with a few examples.     

Braided tensor C*-categories, Hecke symmetries and actions on extended Cuntz algebras

In this paper we deal with braided tensor C*-categories. For every object of the category we associate a C*-algebra denoted by . An analysis of the braiding is carried out by using the conjugate equations. If the braiding is a Hecke symmetry and the -dimension is appropriately chosen, we characterize the C*-algebra as the one generated by the representation given by the Markov trace. This analysis leads to the existence of an action of on . Such actions (Theorem 1) correspond to *-monomorphisms of on which generalize the ones obtained earlier by the author (1997).

     

Notes on piecewise-Koszul algebras

The relationships between piecewise-Koszul algebras and other “Koszul-type” algebras are discussed. The Yoneda-Ext algebra and the dual algebra of a piecewise-Koszul algebra are studied, and a sufficient condition for the dual algebra A ^! to be piecewise-Koszul is given. Finally, by studying the trivial extension algebras of the path algebras of Dynkin quivers in bipartite orientation, we give explicit constructions for piecewise-Koszul algebras with arbitrary “period” and piecewise-Koszul algebras with arbitrary “jump-degree”.     

States on sharply dominating effect algebras

We prove that sharply dominating Archimedean atomic lattice effect algebras can be characterized by the property called basic decomposition of elements.As an application we prove the state smearing theorem for these effect algebras.

Finite group actions on AF algebras obtained by folding the interval

For any finite groupG we construct examples of an AF algebraA and an action byG onA such that the fixed point algebra is not AF. The construction ofA is done by successive foldings and cuttings of the interval in a way originally suggested by Blackadar and, in a different context, by Connes in his talk in Oslo in 1978.     

Partial (co)actions of Taft and Nichols Hopf algebras on algebras

In this paper, we characterize suitable partial (co)actions of Taft and Nichols Hopf algebras on algebras, and moreover we get that such partial (co)actions are symmetric. For certain algebras, these partial (co)actions obtained are, indeed, all of them. This work generalizes the results obtained by the authors in [16].     

Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability of a generalized Apollonius–Jensen type additive mapping and isomorphisms between C *‐algebras

Let X, Y be Banach modules over a C *‐algebra. We prove the Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability of the following functional equation in Banach modules over a unital C *‐algebra: It is shown that a mapping f: X → Y satisfies the above functional equation and f (0) = 0 if and only if the mapping f: X → Y is Cauchy additive. As an application, we show that every almost linear bijection h: A → B of a unital C *‐algebra A onto a unital C *‐algebra B is a C *‐algebra isomorphism when h (2^d uy) = h (2^d u) h (y) for all unitaries u ∈ A, all y ∈ A, and all d ∈ Z . Inverse semigroups and combinatorial C*-algebras

We describe a special class of representations of an inverse semigroup S on Hilbert's space which we term tight. These representations are supported on a subset of the spectrum of the idempotent semilattice of S, called the tight spectrum, which is in turn shown to be precisely the closure of the space of ultra-filters, once filters are identified with semicharacters in a natural way. These representations are moreover shown to correspond to representations of the C*-algebra of the groupoid of germs for the action of S on its tight spectrum. We then treat the case of certain inverse semigroups constructed from semigroupoids, generalizing and inspired by inverse semigroups constructed from ordinary and higher rank graphs. The tight representations of this inverse semigroup are in one-to-one correspondence with representations of the semigroupoid, and consequently the semigroupoid algebra is given a groupoid model. The groupoid which arises from this construction is shown to be the same as the boundary path groupoid of Farthing, Muhly and Yeend, at least in the singly aligned, sourceless case. *Partially supported by CNPq.     

Powers of positive elements in C*‐algebras

In this paper, we show that Ogasawa’s theorem has a proof in Bishop style constructive mathematics (BISH). In 25 , we introduced the elementary constructive theory of C*‐algebras in BISH, but we did not discuss the powers of positive elements there. © 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim     

Remark on Exponential Decay of Ground States for N-Laplacian Equations

We study exponential decay property of radial ground states to a class of N-Laplacian elliptic equations in the whole space R^N. Their decay rates as /x/→∞ are obtained explicitly.
