The ground state binding energies of axial hydrogenic impurities in a coaxial cylindrical quantum well wire are reported as a function of the barrier height and the radius of wire in the presence of a uniform magnetic field applied parallel to the wire axis. The quantum well wire (QWW) is assumed to be an infinitely long cylinder of GaAs material surrounded by AlxGa1−xAs (for finite case and vacuum for infinite case). Binding energy calculations were performed with the use of a variational procedure in the effective mass approximation. We observed that the binding energy is sensitive to well radius only for both larger RR values and small magnetic fields. We also compared the infinite and finite case binding energies and showed that increasing the Al concentration in the finite barrier case, binding energies are increased as expected. Our results are in good agreement and complementary with the previous theoretical works.  相似文献

We propose a coaxial cylindrical quantum well wire (QWW) system, in which two conducting cylindrical layers are separated by an insulating layer. The ground state binding energy of a hydrogenic impurity subjected to uniform magnetic field applied parallel to the wire axis is studied within a variational scheme as a function of the inner barrier thickness for two different impurity positions and various barrier potentials. The ground state energy and wave function in the presence of a magnetic field is directly calculated using the fourth-order Runge–Kutta method. It is found that the binding energy in critical barrier thickness shows a sharp increase or decrease depending on the impurity position and magnetic field strength. The main result is that a sharp variation in the binding energy, which may be important in device applications, depends strongly not only on the location of the impurity but also on the magnetic field and the geometry of the wire.  相似文献

光学头力矩器的空间磁场分布直接决定了力矩器的动态性能,对磁场进行准确分析是力矩器设计的前提。分析了悬线式力矩器的空间磁场产生机理,并采用有限元分析法进行了理论推导。以一款动线圈式二维对称型只读悬线式力矩器为例,采用有限元仿真软件(ANSYS)分析并设计了其空间磁场分布,对影响力矩器空间磁场分布的相关因素进行了分析。将采用有限元法对悬线式力矩器空间磁场仿真计算得出的力矩器动态特性参数与实测力矩器动态特性参数相比,其结果均符合力矩器的设计要求,证明基于有限元分析法的悬线式力矩器空间磁场设计是可行的。  相似文献

We investigate the transport phenomena through a region containing a ring-shaped barrier in a quasi-one-dimensional quantum wire in magnetic fields. The calculated magnetoconductance curve shows a periodic dip structure, which is superimposed upon by another quasi-periodic dip structure. The current distributions for resonant states and the magnetoconductance features are well explained on the basis of the magnetic field dependence of the eigenvalue in the two-dimensional system.  相似文献

The effect of uniform electric and magnetic fields on binding energy and photoionization cross-section of an off-axis hydrogen-like donor impurity in a QWW, approximated by a cylindrical well of finite depth, is investigated within the framework of variational approach. The dependencies of the binding energy and photoionization cross-section on electric field strength, magnetic field induction, wire radius and impurity position are obtained. The cases when the polarization vector of incident radiation is parallel and perpendicular to the wire axis are both discussed.  相似文献

Within the effective-mass approximation, we have investigated the influence of a strong magnetic field on the ground state binding energy and the photon energy dependence of the photoionization cross-section of a shallow donor impurity in a quasi-one-dimensional rectangular quantum wire with infinite and finite potential barriers, using a variational approach. It is found that the binding energy and the photoionization cross-section as a function of photon energy were drastically dependent on the sizes of the wire, the potential well heights and the applied magnetic field.  相似文献

The effect of a longitudinal magnetic and a transverse electric fields on the binding energy of a hydrogen-like donor impurity is studied for a semiconductor quantum well-wire approximated by a cylindrical well of finite depth. It is shown that the magnetic and electric fields as well as the impurity distance from the wire axis are the effective tools for the influence on the binding energy.  相似文献

We study the nonequilibrium regime of the Kondo effect in a quantum dot laterally coupled to a narrow wire. We observe a split Kondo resonance when a finite bias voltage is imposed across the wire. The splitting is attributed to the creation of a double-step Fermi distribution function in the wire. Kondo correlations are strongly suppressed when the voltage across the wire exceeds the Kondo temperature. A perpendicular magnetic field enables us to selectively control the coupling between the dot and the two Fermi seas in the wire. Already at fields of order 0.1 T only the Kondo resonance associated with the strongly coupled reservoir survives.  相似文献

We propose in this paper that a dual waveguide coupled by a finite barrier be able to serve as an energy filter under a perpendicular magnetic field. In the waveguide direction, the conductance exhibits a periodic square-wave pattern in which the miniband is controlled by the magnetic and potential modulation. The electrons with energies in the miniband can completely transfer along one waveguide while the other electrons undergo filtration. Compared with the coupled waveguide without magnetic modulation, the structure under magnetic field is found to be a good directional coupler. By adjusting the potential barrier and magnetic field, the electrons input from one port of waveguide can transfer to any other ports.  相似文献

We use in this paper the variational method to calculate the polarizability of a hydrogenic donor impurity, in the presence of electric field, in a V-groove GaAs/AlxGa1−xAs quantum wire. The carrier ground states are analytically obtained by an effective potential scheme together with a suitable coordinate transformation that allows the decoupling of the two-dimensional Schrodinger equation. According to the results obtained from the present work for polarizability and binding energy reveals that the impurity position and field direction play important roles.  相似文献

A variational formalism for the calculation of the binding energies of hydrogenic donors in a parabolic diluted magnetic semiconductor quantum dot is discussed. Results are obtained for Cd Mn Te/Cd Mn Te structures as a function of the dot radius in the presence of external magnetic and electric fields applied along the growth axis. The donor binding energies are computed for different field strengths and for different dot radii. While the variation of impurity binding energy with dot radii and electric field are as expected, the polarizability values enhance in a magnetic field. However, for certain values of dot radii and in intense magnetic fields the polarizability variation is anomalous. This variation of polarizability is different from non- magnetic quantum well structures. Spin polaronic shifts are estimated using a mean field theory. The results show that the spin polaronic shift increases with magnetic field and decreases as the electric field and dot radius increase.  相似文献

提出了两种新颖的采用载流导线的双阱微磁表面囚禁方案(即双U形与双Z形导线囚禁)。通过改变囚禁方案中直导线中的电流方向,即可将双U形导线囚禁改变为双Z形导线囚禁;如果逐渐减小直导线中的电流大小,即可将一个双阱微磁囚禁连续地合并为一个单阱微磁囚禁,反之亦然。详细计算和分析了上述两种载流导线囚禁方案的磁场及其梯度的空间分布。研究发现在导线中通以较小的电流,即可在导线表面附近产生很大的磁场梯度及其曲率。例如当电流为O.2A时,其磁场梯度和曲率可分别达到0.2T/cm和10T/cm2以上。由于双U形导线囚禁中存在磁场零点,而双Z形导线囚禁中仅存在磁场最小值,所以双U形导线囚禁仅适用于制备双样品磁光囚禁(MOT)或研究中性原子的冷碰撞,而双Z形导线囚禁除了可用于研究原子的冷碰撞之外,还可以用于制备双样品玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚(BEC)或实验研究双阱玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚的性质等。  相似文献

The vector finite element method of tetrahedral elements is used to model 3D electromagnetic wave logging response. The tangential component of the vector field at the mesh edges is used as a degree of freedom to overcome the shortcomings of node-based finite element methods. The algorithm can simulate inhomogeneous media with arbitrary distribution of conductivity and magnetic permeability. The electromagnetic response of well logging tools are studied in dipping bed layers with the borehole and invasion included. In order to simulate realistic logging tools, we take the transmitter antennas consisting of circular wire loops instead of magnetic dipoles. We also investigate the apparent resistivity of inhomogeneous formation for different dip angles.  相似文献

Magnetic field induced exciton binding energy is investigated in a strained InAs/GaAs quantum wire within the framework of single band effective mass approximation. The strain contribution to the potential is determined through deformation potentials. The interband emission energy of strained InAs/GaAs wire is investigated in the influence of magnetic field with the various structural parameters. Magnetic field induced photoionization cross section of the exciton is studied. The total optical absorption and the refractive index changes as a function of normalized photon energy between the ground and the first excited state in the presence of magnetic field are analyzed. The optical absorption coefficients and the refractive index changes strongly depend on the incident optical intensity and the magnetic field. The occurred blueshift of the resonant peak due to the magnetic field will give the information about the variation of two energy levels in the quantum well wire. The optical absorption coefficients and the refractive index changes are strongly dependent on the incident optical intensity and the magnetic field.  相似文献

Summary The binding energy for on-centre impurities in a rectangular quantum well wire is calculated as a function of the width of the wire and perpendicular magnetic field. 核磁共振成像和核磁共振谱仪是高场超导磁体的主要应用领域.高场超导磁体通常具有较高的磁场和运行电流,在运行过程中超导线会产生较高的电磁应力,其临界特性将发生退化,影响磁体的稳定性.开展高场超导磁体的电磁应力精确分析显得尤为必要.本文发展了一种快速有效的有限元分析方法,第一步,为整个超导磁体系统建立平均有限元模型,采用传统的电磁-结构耦合方法求解电磁应力,获得最大应力位置;第二步,对最大应力所在的超导线圈建立详细有限元模型,采用单积分-结构分析方法精确求解每一组分中电磁应力.基于该模型研究了500 MHz NMR超导磁体的电磁应力.该分析方法也可以用于超导磁体冷却过程中的热应力分析.为高场超导磁体设计和建造提供有益的理论依据.  相似文献

Cyclotron resonance of a magnetopolaron in a rectangular harmonic quantum wire withmagnetic fidd normal to the quanturn wire is investigated theoretically. The results weobtained show that, the Landau levels in the quantum wire are raised relative to those intwo-dimensional quanturn well due to the addition of a parabolic potential. <正>We propose a wire configuration to create a one-dimensional(1D) array of magnetic microtraps for trapping ultracold atoms.The configuration is formed by replacing the central part of the Z-wire pattern with a zigzag wire. We simulate the performance of this pattern by the finite element method which can take both the width and depth of the wire into consideration.The result of simulation shows that this configuration can create magnetic microtraps which can be separated and combined by changing the bias magnetic field.We manage to split the Z-wire trap and prove that a similar result can occur for the new wire configuration.The fabrication processes of the atom chip are also introduced.Finally we discuss the loading method.  相似文献

Within the framework of a staircase infinitely deep potential well model, the mobility of charge carriers is calculated for scattering on impurity centers located on the axis of a size-quantized semiconducting coated wire. Calculations are done for the dielectric constant mismatch of the wire, coating and surrounding environment, taking into account the difference of the effective masses in the wire and coating. The effect of a longitudinal magnetic field on mobility is also considered. Numerical results are presented for the GaAs–Ga1−xAlxAs system at different values of the wire and coating radii, the alloy concentration x, and magnetic field.  相似文献
