Experimental data for the conductivity of type IIa diamond specimens implanted at low temperatures with carbon ions, followed by high temperature annealing, have been analyzed using hopping and percolation theories in the vicinity of the insulator-metal transition. Near the transition it appears that conductivity occurs viasp 2-bonded graphitic clusters which are randomly distributed in thesp 3-bonded diamond matrix. A conductivity crossover between the Mott and Efros-Shklovskii VRH laws has been observed on the insulating side of the transition.  相似文献

Hydrofullerides with hydrogen content up to 5 wt.% were obtained by direct and catalytic reactions with H2 gas. Hydrogen content was monitored in situ using a gravimetric system, and verified by chemical analysis ex situ. It was found that pure C60 reacts rapidly when exposed to H2 gas at 673 K and 50–100 bar. Gravimetric study of this reaction showed that hydrogenation is saturated at about 5 wt.% of hydrogen. The mass of the sample goes through a maximum and with a longer reaction time its weight starts to decrease. This proves that hydrofullerides with high hydrogen content are not stable and strong hydrogenation results in the collapse of C60 molecules. XRD studies showed that samples prepared by direct hydrogenation without a catalyst retain an original fcc structure with an increase of the cell parameter a up to 15.1 Å. Catalytic hydrogenation of C60 with H2 gas results in a decrease of the reaction temperature and formation of hydrofullerides with different types of crystal structures. New experimental data on inclusive cross section of neutral-vector-meson (ω 0, ϕ, K S 0) production in proton-proton collisions at = 200 GeV obtained at RHIC are analyzed in the framework of z scaling. Properties of z-presentation are used to predict hadron yields over a wide range of transverse momentum p T and collisions energy . The next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD calculations of inclusive cross sections of π 0 mesons produced in pp and collisions over a wide range of and p T are compared with ISR, S pS, RHIC data and predictions of z scaling. The dependence of the spectra in p T and z presentations for different parton distribution and fragmentation functions is studied. The sensitivity of the obtained results to the choice of the renormalization (μ R ), initial-state factorization (μ F ), and final-state factorization (fragmentation) (μ H ) scales is verified. It is shown that self-similar features of particle production dictated by the z scaling give strong restriction on the asymptotic behavior of the inclusive spectra in high-p T region. The decays of 152Tb (T 1/2 = 17.5 h) and 152Gd excited states have been investigated by the analysis of -rays and -coincidences measured with the use of high-resolution HPGe detectors. The source of 152Tb was prepared by chromatographic isolation followed by electromagnetic separation from a tantalum target irradiated by an internal proton beam of the LNP JINR phasotron. New and more precise data on the -transitions and excited states of 152Gd are reported. Using previously published data on internal-conversion electrons many transition multipolarities are suggested, some of them with E0 admixture. The ratio was found for a number of low-lying levels, for most of the levels their spins, parities, and are given. The excited levels of 152Gd were deduced from the analysis of -coincidences. We obtain exact results in α′ for open and closed A-model topological string amplitudes on a large class of toric Calabi-Yau threefolds by using their correspondence with five dimensional gauge theories. The toric Calabi-Yaus that we analyze are obtained as minimal resolution of cones over Y p,q manifolds and give rise via M-theory compactification to SU(p) gauge theories on . As an application we present a detailed study of the local case and compute open and closed genus zero Gromov-Witten invariants of the orbifold. We also display the modular structure of the topological wave function and give predictions for higher genus amplitudes. The mirror curve in this case is the spectral curve of the relativistic A 1 Toda chain. Our results also indicate the existence of a wider class of relativistic integrable systems associated to generic Y p,q geometries.  相似文献

We describe studies about solvent effects on the absorption and emission properties of o-aminobenzoic acid (o-Abz), interpreting the results within the framework of general and specific solute-solvent interactions. Measurements were performed in several solvents and analysis of the absorption and emission wavelengths were made based on Lipperts model for general solvent effects and on the use of different parameters to describe the ability of the solvent to promote specific interactions with the solute. We observed low sensitivity of the Stokes shift upon changes in the medium polarity, and large deviation from the linearity predicted by Lipperts equation when the solvents were characterized as Bronsted acid in the Kamlet-Taft * scale. Quantum yield and fluorescence lifetimes were best interpreted based on the AN+DN scale used to describe the electron donor/acceptor properties of the solvent. The results indicated that non-radiative deexcitation processes are favoured in solvents which promote the formation of intramolecular hydrogen bond, while interactions with electron acceptor solvents lead to enhancement of fluorescence.  相似文献

Mixing of K 0 and B 0 mesons is studied in the scope of the minimum supersymmetry model (MSSM) with a type II Yukawa sector and explicit violation of CP invariance in the Higgs potential. The mixing parameters Δm LS and ? are calculated in the limit of the low-energy four-fermion approximation with a charged Higgs boson exchange. It is shown that supersymmetric effects are very small for K 0 mesons and may be quite significant for B s 0 and B d 0 mesons, which imposes constraints on the MSSM parameter space.  相似文献

The 1/N c -power countings for baryon decays and configuration mixings are determined by means of a nonrelativistic quark picture. Such countings are expected to be robust under changes in the quark masses and, therefore, valid as these become light. It is shown that excited baryons have natural widths of \(\mathcal{O}(N_c^0 )\). These dominant widths are due to the decays that proceed directly to the ground-state baryons, with cascade decays being suppressed to \(\mathcal{O}(1/N_c )\). Configuration mixings, defined as mixings between states belonging to different O(3) × SU(2N f ) multiplets, are shown to be subleading in an expansion in \(1/\sqrt {N_c }\) when they involve the ground-state baryons, while the mixings between excited states can be \(\mathcal{O}(N_c^0 )\).  相似文献

The production rates and substructure of jets have been studied in charged current deep inelastic e + p scattering for Q 2 > 200 GeV2 with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 110.5 pb-1. Inclusive jet cross sections are presented for jets with transverse energies GeV and pseudorapidities in the range . Dijet cross sections are presented for events with a jet having GeV and a second jet having GeV. Measurements of the mean subjet multiplicity, , of the inclusive jet sample are presented. Predictions based on parton-shower Monte Carlo models and next-to-leading-order QCD calculations are compared to the measurements. The value of , determined from at for jets with GeV, is . A new evaluation of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon magnetic moment is presented. We take into account the reanalysis of the low-energy e + e -annihilation cross section into hadrons by the CMD-2 Collaboration. The agreement between e + e -and spectral functions in the channel is found to be much improved. Nevertheless, significant discrepancies remain in the center-of-mass energy range between 0.85 and , so that we refrain from averaging the two data sets. The values found for the lowest-order hadronic vacuum polarization contributions are where the errors have been separated according to their sources: experimental, missing radiative corrections in e + e -data, and isospin breaking. The corresponding Standard Model predictions for the muon magnetic anomaly read where the errors account for the hadronic, light-by-light (LBL) scattering and electroweak contributions. The deviations from the measurement at BNL are found to be (1.9 ) and (0.7 ) for the e + e -- and -based estimates, respectively, where the second error is from the LBL contribution and the third one from the BNL measurement.Received: 7 September 2003, Published online: 30 October 2003  相似文献

The probability of Z 0-boson decay to a pair of charged fermions in a strong electromagnetic field, Z 0\(\bar f\) f, is calculated. On the basis of a method that employs exact solutions to relativistic wave equations for charged particles, an analytic expression for the partial decay width Γ(?) = Γ(Z 0\(\bar f\) f) is obtained at an arbitrary value of the parameter ? = \(eM_Z^{ - 3} \sqrt { - (F_{\mu \nu } q^\nu )^2 } \), which characterizes the external-field strength. The total Z 0-boson decay width in an intense electromagnetic field, Γ Z (?), is calculated by summing these results over all known generations of charged leptons and quarks. It is found that, in the region of relatively weak fields (? < 0.06), the field-induced corrections to the standard Z 0-boson decay width in a vacuum do not exceed 2%. As ? increases, the total decay width Γ Z (?) develops oscillations against the background of its gradual decrease to the absolute-minimum point. At ?min = 0.445, the total Z 0-boson decay width reaches the minimum value of Γ Z (?min) = 2.164 GeV, which is smaller than the Z 0-boson decay width in a vacuum by more than 10%. In the region of superstrong fields (? > 1), Γ Z (?) grows monotonically with increasing external-field strength. In the region ? > 5, the t-quark-production process Z 0\(\bar t\) t, which is forbidden in the absence of an external field, begins contributing significantly to the total decay width of the Z 0 boson.  相似文献

Within the minimal supersymmetric standard model, two vertex functions for the three-particle interaction of the neutral Higgs bosons h0 and H0 are analyzed in the one-loop approximation with allowance for a complete set of one-loop diagrams. The analysis is performed in the c.m. frame under the assumption that one of the Higgs bosons is virtual. The results obtained in this way are compared with those that involve only leading corrections in the low-energy approximation. The vertex functions in question are presented graphically versus the mixing angle β and the energy \(\sqrt s\). It is shown that corrections to these vertex functions may be significant in some domain of the model-parameter space, so that they must be taken into account in performing a detailed analysis of experimental data and theoretical predictions. The possibility of experimentally observing the dependences under study is explored.  相似文献

In previous work we introduced and studied a function that generalizes the hypergeometric function. In this paper we focus on a similarity-transformed function , with parameters 4 related to the couplings c4 by a shift depending on a + , a . We show that the -function is invariant under all maps w(), with w in the Weyl group of type D 4 . Choosing a + , a positive and real, we obtain detailed information on the |Re v| asymptotics of the -function. We present selected recent results of multi-hadron correlation measurements in azimuth and pseudorapidity at intermediate and high p T in Au+Au collisions at , from the STAR experiment at RHIC. At intermediate p T , measurements are presented that attempt to determine the origin of the associated near-side (small Δφ) yield at large pseudo-rapidity difference Δη that is found to be present in heavy ion collisions. In addition, results are reported on new multi-hadron correlation measures at high-p T that use di-hadron triggers and multi-hadron cluster triggers with the goal to constrain the underlying jet kinematics better than in the existing measurements of inclusive spectra and di-hadron correlations.  相似文献

The superheavy hydrogen isotopes 4H and 5H have been investigated in the stopped pion absorption on 9Be. Three states of 4H were proposed in the reaction channel 9Be( { - }, dt)X. We study the quantum sphere as a quantum Riemannian manifold in the quantum frame bundle approach. We exhibit its 2-dimensional cotangent bundle as a direct sum 0,11,0 in a double complex. We find the natural metric, volume form, Hodge * operator, Laplace and Maxwell operators and projective module structure. We show that the q-monopole as spin connection induces a natural Levi-Civita type connection and find its Ricci curvature and q-Dirac operator . We present the full set of evolution equations for the spatially homogeneous cosmologies of type VIh filled with a tilted perfect fluid and we provide the corresponding equilibrium points of the resulting dynamical state space. It is found that only when the group parameter satisfies h > –1 a self-similar solution exists. In particular we show that for h > – there exists a self-similar equilibrium point provided that whereas for h < – the state parameter belongs to the interval (1, . This family of new exact self-similar solutions belongs to the subclass n = 0 having non-zero vorticity. In both cases the equilibrium points have a six-dimensional stable manifold and may act as future attractors at least for the models satisfying n = 0. Also we give the exact form of the self-similar metrics in terms of the state and group parameter. As an illustrative example we provide the explicit form of the corresponding self-similar radiation model ( = ), parametrised by the group parameter h. The initial field electron emission degradation behaviour of original nano-structured sp^2-bonded amorphous carbon films has been observed, which can be attributed to the increase of the work function of the film in the field emission process analysed using a Fowler-Nordheim plot. The possible reason for the change of work function is suggested to be the desorption of hydrogen from the original hydrogen termination film surface due to field emission current-induced local heating. For the explanation of the emission degradation behaviour of the nano-structured sp2-bonded amorphous carbon film, a cluster model with a series of graphite (0001) basal surfaces has been presented, and the theoretical calculations have been performed to investigate work functions of graphite (0001) surfaces with different hydrogen atom and ion chemisorption sites by using first principles method based on density functional theory-local density approximation.  相似文献

K + K - production in two-photon collisions has been studied using a large data sample of 67 fb-1 accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e + e - collider. We have measured the cross section for the process for center-of-mass energies between 1.4 and 2.4 GeV, and found three new resonant structures in the energy region between 1.6 and 2.4 GeV.
