In this paper, we try to solve the semidefinite program with box constraints. Since the traditional projection method for constrained optimization with box constraints is not suitable to the semidefinite constraints, we present a new algorithm based on the feasible direction method. In the paper, we discuss two cases: the objective function in semidefinite programming is linear and nonlinear, respectively. We establish the convergence of our algorithm, and report the numerical experiments which show the effectiveness of the algorithm.  相似文献

A minimisation problem with infinitely many constraints – semi-infinite programming problem (SIP) is considered. The problem is solved using a two stage procedure that searches for global maximum violation of the constraints. A version of the algorithm that searches for any violation of constraints is also considered, and the performance of the two algorithm is compared. An application to solving minimax problem (with and without coupled constraints) is given and a comparison with the algorithm for continuous minimax of Rustem and Howe (2001) is included. Finally, we consider an application to chemical engineering problems.  相似文献

The second-order cone program (SOCP) is an optimization problem with second-order cone (SOC) constraints and has achieved notable developments in the last decade. The classical semi-infinite program (SIP) is represented with infinitely many inequality constraints, and has been studied extensively so far. In this paper, we consider the SIP with infinitely many SOC constraints, called the SISOCP for short. Compared with the standard SIP and SOCP, the studies on the SISOCP are scarce, even though it has important applications such as Chebychev approximation for vector-valued functions. For solving the SISOCP, we develop an algorithm that combines a local reduction method with an SQP-type method. In this method, we reduce the SISOCP to an SOCP with finitely many SOC constraints by means of implicit functions and apply an SQP-type method to the latter problem. We study the global and local convergence properties of the proposed algorithm. Finally, we observe the effectiveness of the algorithm through some numerical experiments.  相似文献

This paper presents a new algorithm for optimal parameter estimation problems with linear constraints. The algorithm developed is based on least absolute-value approximations. The problem is solved first using a least-error-square technique, where we add to the cost function the equality constraints via Lagrange multipliers, to obtain a good estimate for the residuals of the measurements, having gained this information, we choose a number of measurements with the smallest residuals. This number equals the number of parameters to be estimated minus the number of constraints. Using these measurements together with the constraints, we obtain a number of observations equal to the number of parameters to be estimated. By using this technique, we show that there is no need to either iterate or use linear programming to obtain the estimation.This work was supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, Grant A4146.  相似文献

Recently the authors have proposed a homogeneous and self-dual algorithm for solving the monotone complementarity problem (MCP) [5]. The algorithm is a single phase interior-point type method; nevertheless, it yields either an approximate optimal solution or detects a possible infeasibility of the problem. In this paper we specialize the algorithm to the solution of general smooth convex optimization problems, which also possess nonlinear inequality constraints and free variables. We discuss an implementation of the algorithm for large-scale sparse convex optimization. Moreover, we present computational results for solving quadratically constrained quadratic programming and geometric programming problems, where some of the problems contain more than 100,000 constraints and variables. The results indicate that the proposed algorithm is also practically efficient.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a new sequential quadratically constrained quadratic programming (SQCQP) algorithm, in which a simple updating strategy of the penalty parameter is adopted. This strategy generates nonmonotone penalty parameters at early iterations and only uses the multiplier corresponding to the bound constraint of the quadratically constrained quadratic programming (QCQP) subproblem instead of the multipliers of the quadratic constraints, which will bring some numerical advantages. Furthermore, by using the working set technique, we remove the constraints of the QCQP subproblem that are locally irrelevant, and thus the computational cost could be reduced. Without assuming the convexity of the objective function or the constraints, the algorithm is proved to be globally, superlinearly and quadratically convergent. Preliminary numerical results show that the proposed algorithm is very promising when compared with the tested SQP algorithms.  相似文献

In this paper, we focus on the proposed algorithm for optimizing the linear function with fuzzy relation equation constraints regarding max-prod composition that it has been proposed by Ghodousian and Khorram [A. Ghodousian, E. Khorram, An algorithm for optimizing the linear function with fuzzy relation equation constraints regarding max-prod composition, Appl. Math. Comput. 178 (2006) 502–509]. Firstly, we show that the algorithm may not lead to the optimal solution in some cases. Secondly, we propose a new algorithm for solving the presented model by Ghodousian and Khorram (2006), as mentioned above. In fact, it modifies the presented algorithm in the Ghodousian and Khorram’s paper. Also, this algorithm is extended to the presented model by Khorram and Ghodousian [E. Khorram, A. Ghodousian, Linear objective function optimization with fuzzy relation equation constraints regarding max-av composition, Appl. Math. Comput. 173 (2006) 872–886.] with max-av composition. Finally, some numerical examples are given for illustrating the purposes.  相似文献

The so called dual parametrization method for quadratic semi-infinite programming (SIP) problems is developed recently for quadratic SIP problems with a single infinite constraint. A dual parametrization algorithm is also proposed for numerical solution of such problems. In this paper, we consider quadratic SIP problems with positive definite objective and multiple linear infinite constraints. All the infinite constraints are supposed to be continuously dependent on their index variable on a compact set which is defined by a number equality and inequalities. We prove that in the multiple infinite constraint case, the minimu parametrization number, just as in the single infinite constraint case, is less or equal to the dimension of the SIP problem. Furthermore, we propose an adaptive dual parametrization algorithm with convergence result. Compared with the previous dual parametrization algorithm, the adaptive algorithm solves subproblems with much smaller number of constraints. The efficiency of the new algorithm is shown by solving a number of numerical examples.  相似文献

In this paper, in order to solve semismooth equations with box constraints, we present a class of smoothing SQP algorithms using the regularized-smooth techniques. The main difference of our algorithm from some related literature is that the correspondent objective function arising from the equation system is not required to be continuously differentiable. Under the appropriate conditions, we prove the global convergence theorem, in other words, any accumulation point of the iteration point sequence generated by the proposed algorithm is a KKT point of the corresponding optimization problem with box constraints. Particularly, if an accumulation point of the iteration sequence is a vertex of box constraints and additionally, its corresponding KKT multipliers satisfy strictly complementary conditions, the gradient projection of the iteration sequence finitely terminates at this vertex. Furthermore, under local error bound conditions which are weaker than BD-regular conditions, we show that the proposed algorithm converges superlinearly. Finally, the promising numerical results demonstrate that the proposed smoothing SQP algorithm is an effective method.  相似文献

The so called dual parameterization method for quadratic semi-infinite programming (SIP) problems is developed recently. A dual parameterization algorithm is also proposed for numerical solution of such problems. In this paper, we present and improved adaptive algorithm for quadratic SIP problems with positive definite objective and multiple linear infinite constraints. In each iteration of the new algorithm, only a quadratic programming problem with a limited dimension and a limited number of constraints is required to be solved. Furthermore, convergence result is given. The efficiency of the new algorithm is shown by solving a number of numerical examples.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider an optimal control problem of switched systems with continuous-time inequality constraints. Because of the complexity of such constraints and switching laws, it is difficult to solve this problem by standard optimization techniques. To overcome the difficulty, we adopt a bi-level algorithm to divide the problem into two nonlinear constrained optimization problems: one continuous and the other discrete. To solve the problem, we transform the inequality constraints into equality constraints which is smoothed using a twice continuously differentiable function and treated as a penalty function. On this basis, the smoothed problem can be solved by any second-order gradient algorithm, e.g., Newton’s Method. Finally, numerical examples show that our method is effective compared to existing algorithms.  相似文献

We consider an optimization reformulation approach for the generalized Nash equilibrium problem (GNEP) that uses the regularized gap function of a quasi-variational inequality (QVI). The regularized gap function for QVI is in general not differentiable, but only directionally differentiable. Moreover, a simple condition has yet to be established, under which any stationary point of the regularized gap function solves the QVI. We tackle these issues for the GNEP in which the shared constraints are given by linear equalities, while the individual constraints are given by convex inequalities. First, we formulate the minimization problem involving the regularized gap function and show the equivalence to GNEP. Next, we establish the differentiability of the regularized gap function and show that any stationary point of the minimization problem solves the original GNEP under some suitable assumptions. Then, by using a barrier technique, we propose an algorithm that sequentially solves minimization problems obtained from GNEPs with the shared equality constraints only. Further, we discuss the case of shared inequality constraints and present an algorithm that utilizes the transformation of the inequality constraints to equality constraints by means of slack variables. We present some results of numerical experiments to illustrate the proposed approach.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a branch-and-bound algorithm for finding a global optimal solution for a nonconvex quadratic program with convex quadratic constraints (NQPCQC). We first reformulate NQPCQC by adding some nonconvex quadratic constraints induced by eigenvectors of negative eigenvalues associated with the nonconvex quadratic objective function to Shor’s semidefinite relaxation. Under the assumption of having a bounded feasible domain, these nonconvex quadratic constraints can be further relaxed into linear ones to form a special semidefinite programming relaxation. Then an efficient branch-and-bound algorithm branching along the eigendirections of negative eigenvalues is designed. The theoretic convergence property and the worst-case complexity of the proposed algorithm are proved. Numerical experiments are conducted on several types of quadratic programs to show the efficiency of the proposed method.  相似文献
