Complexes of the type [Ru(CO)(EPh(3))(B)(L)] (E = P or As; B = PPh(3), AsPh(3), py or pip; L=dianion of the Schiff bases derived from thiosemicarbazone with acetoacetanilide, acetoacet-o-toluidide and o-chloro acetoacetanilide) have been synthesized from the reactions of equimolar amounts of [RuHCl(CO)(EPh(3))(2)(B)] and Schiff bases in benzene. The new complexes have been characterized by analytical and spectral (IR, electronic, NMR) data. The arrangement of PPh(3) groups around ruthenium metal was determined from (31)P NMR spectra. An octahedral structure has been assigned for all the new complexes. All the complexes exhibited catalytic activity for the oxidation of benzyl alcohol and cyclohexanol in presence of N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide as co-oxidant. The complexes also exhibited antibacterial activity against E. coli, Aeromonas hydrophilla and Salmonella typhi. The activity was compared with standard streptomycin.  相似文献

A series of new mixed ligand hexacoordinated ruthenium(III) Schiff base complexes of the type [RuX(2)(EPh(3))(2)(LL')] (X=Cl, E=P; X=Cl or Br, E=As and LL'=anion of the Schiff bases derived from the condensation of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde with aniline, 4-chloroaniline, 2-methyl aniline and 4-methoxy aniline) are reported. All the complexes have been characterized by analytical and spectral (IR, electronic and EPR) data. The redox behavior of the complexes has also been studied. The complexes exhibit catalytic activity in the oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde in the presence of N-methyl morpholine-N-oxide (NMO). An octahedral structure has been proposed for all of the complexes.  相似文献

Ruthenium(II) hydrazone Schiff base complexes of the type [RuCl(CO)(B)(L)] (were B=PPh(3), AsPh(3) or Py; L=hydrazone Schiff base ligands) were synthesized from the reactions of hydrazone Schiff base ligand (obtained from isonicotinoylhydrazide and different hydroxy aldehydes) with [RuHCl(CO)(EPh(3))(2)(B)] (where E=P or As; B=PPh(3), AsPh(3) or Py) in 1:1 molar ratio. All the new complexes have been characterized by analytical and spectral (FT-IR, electronic, (1)H, (13)C and (31)P NMR) data. They have been tentatively assigned an octahedral structure. The synthesized complexes have exhibited catalytic activity for oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde and cyclohexanol to cyclohexanone in the presence of N-methyl morpholine N-oxide (NMO) as co-oxidant. They were also found to catalyze the transfer hydrogenation of aliphatic and aromatic ketones to alcohols in KOH/Isopropanol.  相似文献

The reactions of [RuHCl(CO)(B)(EPh(3))(2)] (B=EPh(3) or pyridine; E=P or As) and 2'-hydroxychalcones in 1:2 ratio led to the formation of [Ru(CO)(B)(L)(2)] (B=PPh(3), AsPh(3) or Py; L=2'-hydroxychalcones). The new complexes have been characterized by analytical and spectral (IR, electronic and (1)H NMR) data. They have been assigned an octahedral structure. The new complexes were found to catalyze the oxidation of alcohols to aldehydes using N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide as co-oxidant. All the new complexes were found to be active against bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella typhi and fungi Aspergillus niger. The activity was compared with standard Streptomycin or Bavistin.  相似文献

A series of stable low spin Ru(III) complexes of the type [RuX2(EPh3)2(L)] (where E = P or As; X = Cl or Br; L = mono basic bidentate Schiff bases) have been synthesized and were characterized by analytical, spectral and electrochemical data. A distorted octahedral geometry has been proposed for all the complexes. These complexes catalyze oxidation of primary alcohols and secondary alcohol with high yields in the presence of N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMO). The ruthenium(III) Schiff base complexes show growth inhibitory activity against the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus (209p) and E. coli ESS (2231).  相似文献

The reaction of the chelating ligands (obtained by the condensation of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde with various primary amines) with [RuHCl(CO)(EPh(3))(2)(B)] (where E=P; B=PPh(3), py or pip: E=As; B=AsPh(3)) in benzene afforded new stable ruthenium(II) carbonyl complexes of the general formula [Ru(Cl)(CO)(EPh(3))(B)(L)] (L=anion of bidentate Schiff bases). The structure of the new complexes was investigated using elemental analyses, spectral (FT-IR, UV-vis and (1)H NMR) and electrochemical studies and is found to be octahedral. All the metal complexes exhibit characteristic MLCT absorption and luminescence bands in the visible region. The luminescence efficiency of the ruthenium(II) complexes was explained based on the ligand environment around the metal ion. These complexes catalyze oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols into their corresponding carbonyl compounds in the presence of N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMO) as the source of oxygen. The formation of high valent Ru(IV)=O species as a catalytic intermediate is proposed for the catalytic process.  相似文献

A new series of new hetero-bimetallic complexes containing iron and ruthenium of the general formula [RuCl(CO)(B)(EPh3)(L)] (where E=P or As; B=PPh3, AsPh3, py or pip; L=ferrocene derived monobasic bidentate thiosemicarbazone ligand) have been synthesized by the reaction between ferrocene-derived thiosemicarbazones and ruthenium(II) complexes of the type [RuHCl(CO)(B)(EPh3)2] (where E=P or As; B=PPh3, AsPh3, py or pip). The new complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, electronic, NMR (1H, 13C and 31P), EXAFS (extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy) and cyclic voltammetric techniques. Antibacterial activity of the new complexes has been screened against Escherichia coli, Vibrio cholerae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa species.  相似文献

IR, EPR, electronic spectra and cyclic voltammetric data of the complexes are discussed. An octahedral geometry has been tentatively proposed for all of these complexes. The new complexes have been subjected to catalytic activity in the reaction of oxidation of alcohols in the presence of N‐methylmorpholine‐N‐oxide. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

RuIII complexes of the type [RuX(L)2(E)] (X = Cl or Br; L = novel bidentate Schiff base ligand; E = PPh3 or AsPh3) have been prepared by reacting [RuX3(E)3] or [RuBr3(PPh3)2(MeOH)] with two novel bidentate Schiff base ligands derived from 4-(1-methyl-1-mesitylcyclobutane-3-yl)-2-aminothiazole, in a 1:2 molar ratio in benzene, and characterised by analytical, spectral (i.r., electronic, 1H-, 13C- n.m.r., and e.p.r.) and electrochemical data. An octahedral structure has been tentatively proposed for all the new complexes. The thermal properties of the ligands and their complexes have been studied by t.g.a. The new RuIII complexes are effective catalysts for the oxidation of alcohols to carbonyl compounds but are unable to oxidise alkenes in the presence of N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMO) as co-oxidant. The antimicrobial activity of the ligands and complexes have also been tested against six microorganisms.  相似文献

New hexa‐coordinated ruthenium (III) complexes of the type [RuX(EPh3)2(L)] (X = Cl or Br; L = dibasic tridentate Schiff base ligand; E = P or As) have been synthesized by the reactions of [RuCl3(PPh3)3], [RuCl3(AsPh3)3] or [RuBr3(AsPh3)3] with the appropriate Schiff base ligands derived by the condensation of salicylaldehyde and 2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthaldehyde with N(4) substituted thiosemicarbazones. All the new complexes were characterized using various physico‐chemical methods such as elemental analyses, infrared, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy, magnetic moment and cyclic voltammetry. Based on the extended X‐ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) analysis, an octahedral structure has been confirmed for the complexes. The new complexes have been subjected to the catalytic activity and antibacterial studies. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Stable ruthenium(II) carbonyl complexes having the general composition [RuCl(CO)(PPh3)(B)(L)] (where B=PPh3, pyridine, piperidine or morpholine; L=anion of bidentate Schiff bases (Vanmet, Vanampy, Vanchx)) were synthesized from the reaction of [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)2(B)] with bidentate Schiff base ligands derived from condensation of o-vanillin with primary amines such as methylamine, 2-aminopyridine and cyclohexylamine. The new complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis and 1H NMR spectral data. The redox property of the complexes were studied by cyclic voltammetric technique and the stability of the complexes towards oxidation were related to the electron releasing or electron withdrawing ability of the substituent in the phenyl ring of o-vanillin. An octahedral geometry has been assigned for all the complexes. In all the above reactions, the Schiff bases replace one molecule of PPh3 and hydride ion from the starting complexes, which indicate that the Ru-N bonds present in the complexes containing heterocyclic nitrogen bases are stronger than the Ru-P. The Schiff bases and their ruthenium(II) complexes have been tested in vitro to evaluate their activity against bacteria, viz., Staphylococcus aureus (209p) and E. coli (ESS 2231).  相似文献

The reaction of phosphanido complexes [Nb(η(5)-C(5)H(4)SiMe(3))(2)(L)(PPh(2))] [L = CO (1), CNXylyl (2)] with early transition metal halides in high oxidation states has been carried out. New bimetallic niobocene complexes [{Nb(η(5)-C(5)H(4)SiMe(3))(2)(L)}(μ-PPh(2))(MCl(5))] [M = Nb, L = CO (3), L = CNXylyl (4); M = Ta, L = CO (5), L = CNXylyl (6)] have been successfully synthesized by the reaction with [MCl(5)](2) (M = Nb or Ta). In a similar way [{Nb(η(5)-C(5)H(4)SiMe(3))(2)(L)}(μ-PPh(2))(MCl(4))] [M = Ti, L = CO (13), CNXylyl (14); M = Zr, L = CO (15), CNXylyl (16)] were synthesized using MCl(4) (M = Ti or Zr). Solutions of complexes 4-6 in chloroform produced new ionic derivatives [Nb(η(5)-C(5)H(4)SiMe(3))(2)(P(H)Ph(2))(L)] [MCl(6)] [M = Nb, L = CO (7), L = CNXylyl (8); M = Ta, L = CO (9), L = CNXylyl (10)]. Ionic complexes [Nb(η(5)-C(5)H(4)SiMe(3))(2)(P(Cl)Ph(2))(L)] [NbCl(4)O(thf)] [L = CO (11), CNXylyl (12)] were formed from solutions in thf - rapidly in the case of 3 but more slowly for 4. New heterometallic complexes [Nb(η(5)-C(5)H(4)SiMe(3))(2)(L)(μ-PPh(2)){(Ti(η(5)-C(5)R(5))Cl(3)}] [R = H, L = CO (17), CNXylyl (18); R = CH(3), L = CO (19), CNXylyl (20)] were synthesized by the reaction of 1 or 2 with [Ti(η(5)-C(5)R(5))Cl(3)] (R = H or CH(3)). All of these compounds were characterized by IR and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, and the molecular structures of 9 and 12 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

An interesting series of binuclear ruthenium(III) Schiff base complexes bearing bis-salophen/bis-naphophen units of the general composition [(EPh(3))(X)Ru-L-Ru(X)(EPh(3))] (where E=P or As; X=Cl or Br; L=binucleating dianionic tetradentate ligands) have been synthesized and characterized by analytical (elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurements), spectral (FT-IR, UV-vis and EPR) and electrochemical methods. These ruthenium(III) complexes have two N(2)O(2) metal binding sites, which are linked to each other with a biphenyl bridge and acts as potential catalyst for oxidation of wide range of primary and secondary alcohols to corresponding aldehydes or ketones with moderate to high conversion in the presence of N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMO). The formation of high-valent Ru(V)=O species as a catalytic active intermediate is proposed for the catalytic processes.  相似文献

The octahedral Ru(II) amine complexes [TpRu(L)(L')(NH(2)R)][OTf] (L = L' = PMe(3), P(OMe)(3) or L = CO and L' = PPh(3); R = H or (t)Bu) have been synthesized and characterized. Deprotonation of the amine complexes [TpRu(L)(L')(NH(3))][OTf] or [TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(NH(2)(t)Bu)][OTf] yields the Ru(II) amido complexes TpRu(L)(L')(NH(2)) and TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(NH(t)Bu). Reactions of the parent amido complexes or TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(NH(t)Bu) with phenylacetylene at room temperature result in immediate deprotonation to form ruthenium-amine/phenylacetylide ion pairs, and heating a benzene solution of the [TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(NH(2)(t)Bu)][PhC(2)] ion pair results in the formation of the Ru(II) phenylacetylide complex TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(C[triple bond]CPh) in >90% yield. The observation that [TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(NH(2)(t)Bu)][PhC(2)] converts to the Ru(II) acetylide with good yield while heating the ion pairs [TpRu(L)(L')(NH(3))][PhC(2)] yields multiple products is attributed to reluctant dissociation of ammonia compared with the (t)butylamine ligand (i.e., different rates for acetylide/amine exchange). These results are consistent with ligand exchange reactions of Ru(II) amine complexes [TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(NH(2)R)][OTf] (R = H or (t)Bu) with acetonitrile. The previously reported phenyl amido complexes TpRuL(2)(NHPh) [L = PMe(3) or P(OMe)(3)] react with 10 equiv of phenylacetylene at elevated temperature to produce Ru(II) acetylide complexes TpRuL(2)(C[triple bond]CPh) in quantitative yields. Kinetic studies indicate that the reaction of TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(NHPh) with phenylacetylene occurs via a pathway that involves TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(OTf) or [TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(NH(2)Ph)][OTf] as catalyst. Reactions of 1,4-cyclohexadiene with the Ru(II) amido complexes TpRu(L)(L')(NH(2)) (L = L' = PMe(3) or L = CO and L' = PPh(3)) or TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(NH(t)Bu) at elevated temperatures result in the formation of benzene and Ru hydride complexes. TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(H), [Tp(PMe(3))(2)Ru[double bond]C[double bond]C(H)Ph][OTf], [Tp(PMe(3))(2)Ru=C(CH(2)Ph)[N(H)Ph]][OTf], and [TpRu(PMe(3))(3)][OTf] have been independently prepared and characterized. Results from solid-state X-ray diffraction studies of the complexes [TpRu(CO)(PPh(3))(NH(3))][OTf], [TpRu(PMe(3))(2)(NH(3))][OTf], and TpRu(CO)(PPh(3))(C[triple bond]CPh) are reported.  相似文献

Reaction of the dimers [RuCl2(eta6-arene)]2 (arene = benzene, p-cymene, mesitylene) with salicyloxazolines in the presence of NaOMe gives complexes [RuCl(R-saloxaz)(arene)] (1-5) which have been fully characterised. Complexes [RuL(iPr-saloxaz)(mes)]Y (L = py, 2-Mepy, 4-Mepy; PPh3; Y- = SbF6 or BPh4) 6-9 were prepared by treating the chloride 2a with ligand L and NaY (Y- = SbF6 or BPh4) in methanol at reflux. Halide complexes [RuX(iPr-saloxaz)(mes)](X = Br, 10; X = I, 11) were synthesised by treating 2a with AgSbF6 then with 1.2 equivalents of KBr or NaI, the methyl complex [RuMe(iPr-saloxaz)(mes)] 12 was synthesised from 2a by reaction with MeLi. Five complexes, [RuCl(iPr-saloxaz)(mes)] 2a, [RuCl(tBu-saloxaz)(p-cymene)] 3b, [RuCl(Ph-saloxaz)(mes)] 5a, [Ru(4-Mepy)(iPr-saloxaz)(mes)][SbF6] 7, and [Ru(PPh3)(iPr-saloxaz)(mes)][SbF6] 9, have been characterised by X-ray crystallography. Treatment of complexes 1-5 with AgSbF6 gives cationic species which are enantioselective catalysts for the Diels-Alder reaction of acroleins with cyclopentadiene, the effect of substituents on enantioselectivity has been examined.  相似文献

The electronic structures of complexes of iron containing two S,S'-coordinated benzene-1,2-dithiolate, (L)(2)(-), or 3,5-di-tert-butyl-1,2-benzenedithiolate, (L(Bu))(2)(-), ligands have been elucidated in depth by electronic absorption, infrared, X-band EPR, and Mossbauer spectroscopies. It is conclusively shown that, in contrast to earlier reports, high-valent iron(IV) (d(4), S = 1) is not accessible in this chemistry. Instead, the S,S'-coordinated radical monoanions (L(*))(1)(-) and/or (L(Bu)(*))(1)(-) prevail. Thus, five-coordinate [Fe(L)(2)(PMe(3))] has an electronic structure which is best described as [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(PMe(3))] where the observed triplet ground state of the molecule is attained via intramolecular, strong antiferromagnetic spin coupling between an intermediate spin ferric ion (S(Fe) = (3)/(2)) and a ligand radical (L(*))(1)(-) (S(rad) = (1)/(2)). The following complexes containing only benzene-1,2-dithiolate(2-) ligands have been synthesized, and their electronic structures have been studied in detail: [NH(C(2)H(5))(3)](2)[Fe(II)(L)(2)] (1), [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Fe(III)(2)(L)(4)] (2), [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Fe(III)(2)(L(Bu))(4)] (3); [P(CH(3))Ph(3)][Fe(III)(L)(2)(t-Bu-py)] (4) where t-Bu-py is 4-tert-butylpyridine. Complexes containing an Fe(III)(L(*))(L)- or Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))- moiety are [N(n-Bu)(4)][Fe(III)(2)(L(Bu))(3)(L(Bu)(*))] (3(ox)()), [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(t-Bu-py)] (4(ox)()), [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PMe(3))] (7), [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PMe(3))(2)] (8), and [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PPr(3))] (9), where Pr represents the n-propyl substituent. Complexes 2, 3(ox)(), 4, [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(PMe(3))(2)] (6), and 9 have been structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献
