A classical result states that every lower bounded superharmonic function on ${\mathbb{R}^{2}}$ is constant. In this paper the following (stronger) one-circle version is proven. If ${f : \mathbb{R}^{2} \to (-\infty,\infty]}$ is lower semicontinuous, lim inf|x|→∞ f (x)/ ln |x| ≥ 0, and, for every ${x \in \mathbb{R}^{2}}$ , ${1/(2\pi) \int_0^{2\pi} f(x + r(x)e^{it}) \, dt \le f(x)}$ , where ${r : \mathbb{R}^{2} \to (0,\infty)}$ is continuous, ${{\rm sup}_{x \in \mathbb{R}^{2}} (r(x) - |x|) < \infty},$ , and ${{\rm inf}_{x \in \mathbb{R}^{2}} (r(x)-|x|)=-\infty}$ , then f is constant. Moreover, it is shown that, assuming rc| · | + M on ${\mathbb{R}^d}$ , d ≤ 2, and taking averages on ${\{y \in \mathbb{R}^{d} : |y-x| \le r(x)\}}$ , such a result of Liouville type holds for supermedian functions if and only if cc 0, where c 0 = 1, if d = 2, whereas 2.50 < c 0 < 2.51, if d = 1.  相似文献

Letf be an entire function (in Cn) of exponential type for whichf(x)=0(?(x)) on the real subspace \(\mathbb{R}^w (\phi \geqslant 1,{\mathbf{ }}\mathop {\lim }\limits_{\left| x \right| \to \infty } \phi (x) = \infty )\) and ?δ>0?Cδ>0 $$\left| {f(z)} \right| \leqslant C_\delta \exp \left\{ {h_s (y) + S\left| z \right|} \right\},z = x + iy$$ where h, (x)=sup〈3, x〉, S being a convex set in ?n. Then for any ?, ?>0, the functionf can be approximated with any degree of accuracy in the form p→ \(\mathop {\sup }\limits_{x \in \mathbb{R}^w } \frac{{\left| {P(x)} \right|}}{{\varphi (x)}}\) by linear combinations of functions x→expi〈λx〉 with frequenciesX belonging to an ?-neighborhood of the set S.  相似文献

We study the rate of uniform approximation by Nörlund means of the rectangular partial sums of double Fourier series of continuous functionsf(x, y), 2π-periodic in each variable. The results are given in terms of the modulus of symmetric smoothness defined by $$\begin{gathered} \omega _2 \left( {f,\delta _1 ,\delta _2 } \right) = \mathop {\sup }\limits_{x,y} \mathop {\sup }\limits_{\left| u \right| \leqslant \delta _1 ,\left| v \right| \leqslant \delta _2 } \left| {f\left( {x + u,y + v} \right)} \right. + f\left( {x + u,y - v} \right) + f\left( {x - u,y + v} \right) \hfill \\ + \left. {f\left( {x - u,y - v} \right) + 4f\left( {x,y} \right)} \right| for \delta _1 ,\delta _2 \geqslant 0. \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ As a special case we obtain the rate of uniform approximation to functionsf(x,y) in Lip({α, β}), the Lipschitz class, and inZ({α, β}), the Zygmund class of ordersα andβ, 0<α,β ≤ l, as well as the rate of uniform approximation to the conjugate functions \(\tilde f^{(1,0)} (x,y), \tilde f^{(0,1)} (x,y)\) and \(\tilde f^{(1,1)} (x,y)\) .  相似文献

It is well-known that the squared modulus of every function f from the Laguerre–Polya class ${\mathcal{L}-\mathcal{P}}$ of entire functions obeys a MacLaurin series representation $$|f(x+i y)|^2=\sum_{k=0}^{\infty} L_k(f;x)\,y^{2k}, \quad x,y\in\mathbb{R}$$ , which reduces to a finite sum when f is a polynomial having only real zeros. The coefficients {L k } are representable as non-linear differential operators acting on f, and by a classical result of Jensen L k (f;x)?≥ 0 for ${f\in \mathcal{L}-\mathcal{P}}$ and ${x\in \mathbb{R}}$ . Here, we prove a conjecture formulated by the first-named author in 2005, which states that for ${f=P_n^{(\lambda)} }$ , the n-th Gegenbauer polynomial, the functions ${\{L_k(f;x)\}_{k=1}^{n}}$ are monotone decreasing on the negative semi-axis and monotone increasing on the positive semi-axis. This result pertains to certain polynomial inequalities in the spirit of the celebrated refinement of Markov’s inequality, found by R. J. Duffin and A. C. Schaeffer in 1941.  相似文献

Let $I^d $ be the d‐dimensional cube, $I^d = [0,1]^d $ , and let $F \ni f \mapsto Sf \in L_\infty (I^d ) $ be a linear operator acting on the Sobolev space F, where Fis either $$$$ or $$$$ where $$\left\| f \right\|_F = \sum\limits_{\left| m \right| = r} {\mathop {{\text{esssup}}}\limits_{x \in I^d } \left| {\frac{{\partial f^{\left| m \right|} }} {{\partial x_1^{m_1 } \partial x_2^{m_2 } \cdot \cdot \cdot \partial x_d^{m_d } }}(x)} \right|.} $$ We assume that the problem elements fsatisfy the condition $\sum\nolimits_{\left| m \right| = r} {{\text{esssup}}} _{x \in I^d } \left| {f^{(m)} (x)} \right| \leqslant 1 $ and that Sis continuous with respect to the supremum norm. We study sensitivity of optimal recovery of Sfrom inexact samples of ftaken at npoints forming a uniform grid on $I^d $ . We assume that the inaccuracy in reading the sample vector is measured in the pth norm and bounded by a nonnegative number δ. The sensitivity is defined by the difference between the optimal errors corresponding to the exact and perturbed readings, respectively. Our main result is that this difference is bounded by $\mathcal{A}\delta $ , where $\mathcal{A} $ is a positive constant independent of the number of samples. This indicates that the curse of dimension, which badly affects the optimal errors, does not extend to sensitivity.  相似文献

Let KL 1(?) and let fL (?) be two functions on ?. The convolution $$ \left( {K*F} \right)\left( x \right) = \int_\mathbb{R} {K\left( {x - y} \right)f\left( y \right)dy} $$ can be considered as an average of f with weight defined by K. Wiener’s Tauberian theorem says that under suitable conditions, if $$ \mathop {\lim }\limits_{x \to \infty } \left( {K*F} \right)\left( x \right) = \mathop {\lim }\limits_{x \to \infty } \int_\mathbb{R} {\left( {K*A} \right)\left( x \right)} $$ for some constant A, then $$ \mathop {\lim }\limits_{x \to \infty } f\left( x \right) = A $$ We prove the following ?-adic analogue of this theorem: Suppose K, F, G are perverse ?-adic sheaves on the affine line $ \mathbb{A} $ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic p (p ≠ ?). Under suitable conditions, if $ \left( {K*F} \right)|_{\eta _\infty } \cong \left( {K*G} \right)|_{\eta _\infty } $ , then $ F|_{\eta _\infty } \cong G|_{\eta _\infty } $ , where η is the spectrum of the local field of $ \mathbb{A} $ at .  相似文献

Let ${\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n}$ be open and bounded. For 1 ≤ p < ∞ and 0 ≤ λ < n, we give a characterization of Young measures generated by sequences of functions ${\{{\bf f}_j\}_{j=1}^\infty}$ uniformly bounded in the Morrey space ${L^{p,\lambda}(\Omega;\mathbb{R}^N)}$ with ${\{\left|{{\bf f}_j}\right|^p\}_{j=1}^\infty}$ equiintegrable. We then treat the case that each f j = ? u j for some ${{\bf u}_j\in W^{1,p}(\Omega;\mathbb{R}^N)}$ . As an application of our results, we consider the functional $${\bf u} \mapsto \int\limits_{\Omega}f({\bf x}, {\bf u}({\bf x}), {\bf {\nabla}}{\bf u}({\bf x})){\rm d}{\bf x},$$ and provide conditions that guarantee the existence of a minimizing sequence with gradients uniformly bounded in ${L^{p,\lambda}(\Omega;\mathbb{R}^{N\times n})}$ .  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the Hyers–Ulam stability theorem when \({f, g, h : \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}}\) satisfy $$|f(x + y) - g(x) - h(y)| \leq \epsilon$$ in a set \({\Gamma \subset \mathbb{R}^{2}}\) of measure \({m(\Gamma) = 0}\) , which refines a previous result in Chung (Aequat Math 83:313–320, 2012) and gives an affirmative answer to the question in the paper. As a direct consequence we obtain that if \({f, g, h : \mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}}\) satisfy the Pexider equation $$f(x + y) - g(x) - h(y) = 0$$ in \({\Gamma}\) , then the equation holds for all \({x, y \in \mathbb{R}}\) . Using our method of construction of the set, we can find a set \({\Gamma \subset \mathbb{R}^{2n}}\) of 2n-dimensional measure 0 and obtain the above result for the functions \({f, g, h : \mathbb{R}^{n} \to \mathbb{C}}\) .  相似文献

We prove the existence of a functionf(t), which is continuous on the interval [0, 1], is of bounded variation, minf(t)=0, maxf(t)=1, for which the integral $$I(x) = \frac{1}{\pi }\int_0^\infty {\left[ {\int_0^1 {cos} y(f(l) - x)\left| {df(l)} \right|} \right]} dy$$ diverges for almost all X ∈ [0, 1]. This result gives a negative answer to a question posed by Z. Ciesielski.  相似文献

In a bounded simple connected region G ? ?3 we consider the equation $$L\left[ u \right]: = k\left( z \right)\left( {u_{xx} + u_{yy} } \right) + u_{zz} + d\left( {x,y,z} \right)u = f\left( {x,y,z} \right)$$ where k(z)? 0 whenever z ? 0.G is surrounded forz≥0 by a smooth surface Γ0 with S:=Γ0 ? {(x,y,z)|=0} and forz<0 by the characteristic \(\Gamma _2 :---(x^2 + y^2 )^{{\textstyle{1 \over 2}}} + \int\limits_z^0 {(---k(t))^{{\textstyle{1 \over 2}}} dt = 0} \) and a smooth surface Γ1 which intersect the planez=0 inS and where the outer normal n=(nx, ny, nz) fulfills \(k(z)(n_x^2 + n_y^2 ) + n_z^2 |_{\Gamma _1 } > 0\) . Under conditions on Γ1 and the coefficientsk(z), d(x,y,z) we prove the existence of weak solutions for the boundary value problemL[u]=f inG with \(u|_{\Gamma _0 \cup \Gamma _1 } = 0\) . The uniqueness of the classical solution for this problem was proved in [1].  相似文献

It is shown that 2π periodic functions whose (r-1)-th derivatives have bounded variation (r > 0) can be approximated by de La Vallée-Poussin sums σ n,m (an ?m =m (n) ?An,0 <a<A<1) at almost all points with a rate o(n?r). For functions belonging to the class Lip (α, L) (0 <α < 1), any natural N, and a positive ?, we have almost everywhere $$|f(x) - \sigma _{n,m} (f;x)| \leqslant c(f,x)n^{ - \alpha } lnn \ldots ln_N^{1 + \varepsilon } n,$$ where \(ln_k x = \underbrace {ln \ldots ln x}_k(k = 1, 2, \ldots )\) . For any triangular method of summation T with bounded coefficients we construct functions belonging to Lip (α, L) (0 < α < 1) and such that almost everywhere, $$\mathop {\overline {\lim } }\limits_{n \to \infty } |f(x) - \tau _n (f;x)|n^a (ln n \ldots ln_N n)^{ - a} = \infty $$ where the τn(f; x) are the means of the method T.  相似文献

In this paper, we mainly study the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the following problems ${\triangle u \pm a(x)| \nabla u|^{q} = b(x)f(u), x \in \Omega, \ u|_{\partial \Omega} = + \infty}$ , where Ω is a bounded domain with a smooth boundary in ${\mathbb{R}^{N} (N \geq 2)}$ , q >  0, ${a \in C^{\alpha}(\bar{\Omega})}$ is positive in Ω, and ${b \in C^{\alpha}(\bar{\Omega})}$ is nonnegative in Ω and may be vanishing on the boundary. We assume that f is Γ-varying at ∞, whose variation at ∞ is not regular. Our analysis is based on the sub-supersolution method and Karamata regular variation theory.  相似文献

Given a function $\mathbb{L}_2 $ (?), its Fourier transform $g(x) = \hat f(x) = F[f](x) = \frac{1} {{\sqrt {2\pi } }}\int\limits_{ - \infty }^{ + \infty } {f(x)e^{ - ixt} dt} ,f(t) = F^{ - 1} [g](t) = \frac{1} {{\sqrt {2\pi } }}\int\limits_{ - \infty }^{ + \infty } {g(x)e^{ - ixt} dx} $ and the inverse Fourier transform are considered in the space f ε $\mathbb{L}_2 $ (?). New estimates are presented for the integral $\int\limits_{|t| \geqslant N} {|g(t)|^2 dt} = \int\limits_{|t| \geqslant N} {|\hat f(t)|^2 dt} ,N \geqslant 1,$ in the vase of f ε $\mathbb{L}_2 $ (?) characterized by the generalized modulus of continuity of the kth order constructed with the help of the Steklov function. Some other estimates associated with this integral are proved.  相似文献

In a bounded domain of the n -dimensional (n?2) space one considers a class of degenerate quasilinear elliptic equations, whose model is the equation $$\sum\limits_{i = 1}^n {\frac{{\partial F}}{{\partial x_i }}} (a^{\ell _i } (u)\left| {u_{x_i } } \right|^{m_i - 2} u_{x_i } ) = f(x),$$ where x =(x1,..., xr), li?0, mi>1, the function f is summable with some power, the nonnegative continuous function a(u) vanishes at a finite number of points and satisfies \(\frac{{lim}}{{\left| u \right| \to \infty }}a(u) > 0\) . One proves the existence of bounded generalized solutions with a finite integral $$\int\limits_\Omega {\sum\limits_{i = 1}^n {a^{\ell _i } (u)\left| {u_{x_i } } \right|^{m_i } dx} }$$ of the Dirichlet problem with zero boundary conditions.  相似文献

In the paper Brillouët-Belluot and Ebanks (Aequationes Math 60:233–242, 2000), the authors found all continuous functions f: [0, 1] → [0, + ) which verify f(0) = f(1) = 0 and the functional equation $$f(xy +c f(x) f(y)) = x f(y) + y f(x) +d \, f(x) f(y)$$ where c and d are given real numbers with c ≠ 0. In the present paper we obtain all continuous solutions ${f: \mathbb{R} \rightarrow \mathbb{R}}$ of the functional equation (1).  相似文献

We establish a result on the existence of a positive solution for the following class of degenerate quasilinear elliptic problems: $$(P)\quad \quad \left\{\begin{array}{ll}{-\Delta_{ap}u + V(x)|x|^{-ap^*} |u|^{p-2} u=K(x)f(x, u), {\rm in} \, R^N,}\\ {u > 0, {\rm in} \, R^N , \, u \in \mathcal{D}^{1,p}_a}{(R^N)},\end{array}\right. $$ denotes the Hardy-Sobolev’s \({{-\Delta_{ap}u = - div(|x|^{-ap}|\nabla u|^{p-2} \nabla u), 1 < p < N, -\infty < a < \frac{N-p}{p}, a \leq e \leq a+1, d=1+a-e}}\) , and \({{p^* := p^*(a,e)=\frac{Np}{N-dp}}}\) denotes the Hardy-Sobolev’s critical exponent, V and K are bounded nonnegative continuous potentials, K vanishes at infinity, and f has a subcritical growth at infinity. The technique used here is the variational approach.  相似文献

Introduce the notation: $\mathbb{Z}$ is the set of integers, $\bar {\mathbb{Z}}={\mathbb{Z}} \cup \{-\infty, +\infty\},{\mathbb{R}}_+^2 =\{x=(x_1,x_2) \in {\mathbb{R}}^2; x_1>0,x_2>0\}$ , $g_{k,m} (x,\alpha,h)= \int\limits_0^1 {g_1 (\frac{(k+u)h_1 - x_1}{\alpha_1})g_2(\frac{(m+u)h_2 - x_2}{\alpha_2})}du$ , where $g_i :\mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R},x \in \mathbb{R}^2 ,\alpha ,h \in \mathbb{R}_ + ^2 $ . Under certain conditions on the functions g 1, g 2, we prove that the system of functions $g_{k,m} (x,\alpha^(n), h^(n)) (k,m \in \bar {\mathbb{Z}})$ , where $\alpha ^{\left( n \right)} ,h^{\left( n \right)} \in \mathbb{R}_ + ^2 $ are arbitrary infinitesimal sequences, is complete in the space C $\mathbb{R}^2 $ of uniformly continuous bounded functions f equipped with the norm $||f|| = \mathop {\sup }\limits_{x \in \mathbb{R}^2 } |f(x)|$ . Starting with the functions g k,m , it is possible to construct a method for uniform approximating in $\mathbb{R}^2 $ any continuous function of bounded variation in the sense of Hardy. An error estimate is derived in terms of the second order moduli of continuity. Based on the obtained results, we discuss in detail the accuracy of uniform approximation of functions of several variables by linear functions. The error estimates are derived by using second order moduli of continuity. We pay a particular attention to sharpness of constants. Bibliography: 8 titles.  相似文献
