The ClH⋯FH and FH⋯ClH configurations of the mixed HF/HCl dimer (where the donor⋯acceptor notation indicates the directionality of the hydrogen bond) as well as the transition state connecting the two configurations have been optimized using MP2 and CCSD(T) with correlation consistent basis sets as large as aug‐cc‐pV(5 + d)Z. Harmonic vibrational frequencies confirmed that both configurations correspond to minima and that the transition state has exactly one imaginary frequency. In addition, anharmonic vibrational frequencies computed with second‐order vibrational perturbation theory (VPT2) are within 6 cm−1 of the available experimental values and deviate by no more than 4 cm−1 for the complexation induced HF frequency shifts. The CCSD(T) electronic energies obtained with the largest basis set indicate that the barrier height is 0.40 kcal mol−1 and the FH⋯ClH configuration lies 0.19 kcal mol−1 below the ClH⋯FH configuration. While only modestly attenuating the barrier height, the inclusion of either the harmonic or anharmonic zero‐point vibrational energy effectively makes both minima isoenergetic, with the ClH⋯FH configuration being lower by only 0.03 kcal mol−1. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

A theoretical study on the structures and vibrational spectra of M+(H2O)Ar0‐1 (M = Cu, Ag, Au) complexes was performed using ab initio method. Geometrical structures, binding energies (BEs), OH stretching vibrational frequencies, and infrared (IR) absorption intensities are investigated in detail for various isomers with Ar atom bound to different binding sites of M+(H2O). CCSD(T) calculations predict that BEs are 14.5, 7.5, and 14.4 kcal/mol for Ar atom bound to the noble metal ion in M+(H2O)Ar (M = Cu, Ag, Au) complexes, respectively, and the corresponding values have been computed to be 1.5, 1.3, and 2.1 kcal/mol when Ar atom attaches to a H atom of water molecule. The former structure is predicted to be more stable than the latter structure. Moreover, when compared with the M+(H2O) species, tagging Ar atom to metal cation yields a minor perturbation on the IR spectra, whereas binding Ar atom to an OH site leads to a large redshift in OH stretching vibrations. The relationships between isomers and vibrational spectra are discussed. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2011  相似文献

Sulfur dioxide and hypohalous acids (HOX, X=F, Cl, Br, I) are ubiquitous molecules in the atmosphere that are central to important processes like seasonal ozone depletion, acid rain, and cloud nucleation. We present the first theoretical examination of the HOX⋯SO2 binary complexes and the associated trends due to halogen substitution. Reliable geometries were optimized at the CCSD(T)/aug-cc-pV(T+d)Z level of theory for HOF and HOCl complexes. The HOBr and HOI complexes were optimized at the CCSD(T)/aug-cc-pV(D+d)Z level of theory with the exception of the Br and I atoms which were modeled with an aug-cc-pwCVDZ-PP pseudopotential. 27 HOX⋯SO2 complexes were characterized and the focal point method was employed to produce CCSDT(Q)/CBS interaction energies. Natural Bond Orbital analysis and Symmetry Adapted Perturbation Theory were used to classify the nature of each principle interaction. The interaction energies of all HOX⋯SO2 complexes in this study ranged from 1.35 to 3.81 kcal mol−1. The single-interaction hydrogen bonded complexes spanned a range of 2.62 to 3.07 kcal mol−1, while the single-interaction halogen bonded complexes were far more sensitive to halogen substitution ranging from 1.35 to 3.06 kcal mol−1, indicating that the two types of interactions are extremely competitive for heavier halogens. Our results provide insight into the interactions between HOX and SO2 which may guide further research of related systems.  相似文献

Recent high‐resolution spectroscopic studies by Merritt, Bondybey, and Heaven (Science 2009 , 324, 1548) have heightened the anticipation that small beryllium clusters will soon be observed in the laboratory. Beryllium clusters are important discrete models for the theoretical study of metals. The trigonal bipyramidal Be5 molecule is studied using high‐level coupled cluster methods. We obtain the optimized geometry, atomization and dissociation energies, and vibrational frequencies. The c~CCSDT(Q) method is employed to compute the atomization and dissociation energies. In this approach, complete basis set (CBS) extrapolations at the CCSD(T) level of theory are combined with an additive correction for the effect of iterative triple and perturbative quadruple excitations. Harmonic vibrational frequencies are obtained using analytic gradients computed at the CCSD(T) level of theory. We report an atomization energy of 129.6 kcal mol?1 at the trigonal bipyramid global minimum geometry. The Be5→Be4+Be dissociation energy is predicted to be 39.5 kcal mol?1. The analogous dissociation energies for the smaller beryllium clusters are 64.0 kcal mol?1 (Be4→Be3+Be), 24.2 kcal mol?1 (Be3→Be2+Be), and 2.7 kcal mol?1 (Be2→Be+Be). The trigonal bipyramidal Be5 structure has an equatorial–equatorial bond length of 2.000 Å and an axial–equatorial distance of 2.060 Å. Harmonic frequencies of 730, 611, 456, 583, 488, and 338 cm?1 are obtained at the CCSD(T)/cc‐pCVQZ level of theory. Quadruple excitations are found to make noticeable contributions to the energetics of the pentamer, which exhibits a significant level of static correlation.  相似文献

The structures and energies of various LiC2H2 complexes have been investigated by means of ab initio molecular orbital calculations. Analytic SCF gradients were employed with a double-ζ basis set to locate and characterize stationary points on the energy surface. Single-point CI calculations using a double-ζ + diffuse and polarization basis set have been carried out at the DZ + P SCF stationary points. With the highest-level theory, the Li—vinylidene complex and the cis bridged adduct are found to be the most favorable arrangements, the former complex being slightly more stable by about 2 kcal mol−1. These molecules are bound respectively by about 5 and 3 kcal mole−1 relative to infinitely separated lithium plus acetylene. Harmonic vibrational frequencies are also reported and confirm the existence of the cis LiC2H2 species recently observed in a solid argon matrix.  相似文献

The formic acid catalyzed gas‐phase reaction between H2O and SO3 and its reverse reaction are respectively investigated by means of quantum chemical calculations at the CCSD(T)//B3LYP/cc‐pv(T+d)z and CCSD(T)//MP2/aug‐cc‐pv(T+d)z levels of theory. Remarkably, the activation energy relative to the reactants for the reaction of H2O with SO3 is lowered through formic acid catalysis from 15.97 kcal mol?1 to ?15.12 and ?14.83 kcal mol?1 for the formed H2O ??? SO3 complex plus HCOOH and the formed H2O ??? HCOOH complex plus SO3, respectively, at the CCSD(T)//MP2/aug‐cc‐pv(T+d)z level. For the reverse reaction, the energy barrier for decomposition of sulfuric acid is reduced to ?3.07 kcal mol?1 from 35.82 kcal mol?1 with the aid of formic acid. The results show that formic acid plays a strong catalytic role in facilitating the formation and decomposition of sulfuric acid. The rate constant of the SO3+H2O reaction with formic acid is 105 times greater than that of the corresponding reaction with water dimer. The calculated rate constant for the HCOOH+H2SO4 reaction is about 10?13 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 in the temperature range 200–280 K. The results of the present investigation show that formic acid plays a crucial role in the cycle between SO3 and H2SO4 in atmospheric chemistry.  相似文献

This work characterizes eight stationary points of the P2 dimer and six stationary points of the PCCP dimer, including a newly identified minimum on both potential energy surfaces. Full geometry optimizations and corresponding harmonic vibrational frequencies were computed with the second‐order Møller–Plesset (MP2) electronic structure method and six different basis sets: aug‐cc‐pVXZ, aug‐cc‐pV(X+d)Z, and aug‐cc‐pCVXZ where X = T, Q. A new L‐shaped structure with C2 symmetry is the only minimum for the P2 dimer at the MP2 level of theory with these basis sets. The previously reported parallel‐slipped structure with C2h symmetry and a newly identified cross configuration with D2 symmetry are the only minima for the PCCP dimer. Single point energies were also computed using the canonical MP2 and CCSD(T) methods as well as the explicitly correlated MP2‐F12 and CCSD(T)‐F12 methods and the aug‐cc‐pVXZ (X = D, T, Q, 5) basis sets. The energetics obtained with the explicitly correlated methods were very similar to the canonical results for the larger basis sets. Extrapolations were performed to estimate the complete basis set (CBS) limit MP2 and CCSD(T) binding energies. MP2 and MP2‐F12 significantly overbind the P2 and PCCP dimers relative to the CCSD(T) and CCSD(T)‐F12 binding energies by as much as 1.5 kcal mol?1 for the former and 5.0 kcal mol?1 for the latter at the CBS limit. The dominant attractive component of the interaction energy for each dimer configuration was dispersion according to several symmetry‐adapted perturbation theory analyses. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

This investigation is concerned with the characterization of seleno‐sulfide‐halogen model systems, the isomerization processes, and the dissociation into diatomic fragment channels on the [H, S, Se, Cl] potential energy surface. Structural, energetic, and vibrational data were obtained at the CCSD(T) and MP2 levels of theory with the series of correlation consistent basis sets and extrapolated to the complete basis set (CBS) limit. For the frequencies, additional computations were performed to include the contribution of anharmonic effects, and for the determination of the heats of formation, important corrections incorporating core‐valence correlation effects and relativistic effects (scalar and spin‐orbit) were taken into account. CCSD(T)/CBS relative stability (kcal mol?1) follows the order: HSSeCl (0.0), HSeSCl (8.80), SSeHCl (23.52), and SeSHCl (25.87). The cis‐rotational barrier for the two lowest isomers is practically identical (10.14 and 10.09 kcal mol?1), whereas for the trans barrier, we obtained 9.25 (HSSeCl) and 8.45 (HSeSCl) kcal mol?1. Dissociation of HSSeCl (HSeSCl) into HS (HSe) + SeCl (SCl) requires 59.70 (56.30) kcal mol?1. For the most stable isomer, we predict a value of the heat of formation at 298.15 K of 2.53 kcal mol?1. One of the outcomes of this research is that the MP2 results are consistent with those of CCSD(T). The MP2 method turns out to be a reliable alternative for a first exploration of larger catenated species, although it accounts for a lesser fraction of correlation effects. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The equilibrium geometries and transition states for interconversion of the CSiH2 isomers in the singlet electronic ground state are optimized at the MP2 and CCSD(T) levels of theory using a TZ2P basis set. The heats of formation, vibrational frequencies, infrared intensities, and rotational constants are also predicted. There are three energy minima on the CSiH2 potential energy surface. Energy calculations at CCSD(T)/TZ2P(fd) + ZPE predict that the global energy minimum is silavinylidene (1), which is 34.1 kcal mol−1 lower in energy than trans-bent silaacetylene (2) and 84.1 kcal mol−1 more stable than the vinylidene isomer (3). The barrier for rearrangement 2→1 is calculated at the same level of theory to be 5.1 kcal mol−1, while for the rearrangement 3→2 a barrier of 2.7 kcal mol−1 is predicted. The natural bond orbital (NBO) population scheme indicates a clear polarization of the C(SINGLE BOND)Si bonds toward the carbon end. A significant ionic contribution to the C(SINGLE BOND)Si bonds of 1 and 2 is suggested by the NBO analysis. The C(SINGLE BOND)Si bond length of trans-bent silaacetylene (2) is longer than previously calculated [1.665 Å at CCSD(T)/TZ2P)]. The calculated carbon-silicon bond length of 2 is in the middle between the C(SINGLE BOND)Si double bond length of 1 (1.721 Å) and the C(SINGLE BOND)Si triple bond of the linear form HCSiH (4), which is 1.604 Å. Structure 4 is a higher-order saddle point on the potential energy surface. © 1996 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Excited state hydrogen (ESHT) and proton (ESPT) transfer reaction pathways in the three and four solvent clusters of 6-azaindole (6AI-S3,4) and 2,6-diazaindole (26DAI-S3,4)(S=H2O, NH3) were computationally investigated to understand the fate of photo-excited biomolecules. The ESHT energy barriers in (H2O)3 complexes (39.6–41.3 kJmol−1) were decreased in (H2O)4 complexes (23.1–20.2 kJmol−1). Lengthening the solvent chain lowered the barrier because of the relaxed transition states geometries with reduced angular strains. Replacing the water molecule with ammonia drastically decreased the energy barriers to 21.4–21.3 kJmol−1 in (NH3)3 complexes and 8.1–9.5 kJ mol−1 in (NH3)4 complexes. The transition states were identified as Ha atom attached to the first solvent molecule. The formation of stronger hydrogen bonds in (NH3)3,4 complexes resulted in facile ESHT reaction than that in the (H2O)3,4 complexes. The ESPT energy barriers in 6AI-S3,4 and 26DAI-S3,4 were found to range between 40–73 kJmol−1. The above values were significantly higher than that of the ESHT processes and hence are considered as a minor channel in the process. The effect of N(2) insertion was explored for the very first time in the isolated solvent clusters using local vibrational mode analysis. In DAI-S4, the higher Ka(Ha⋯Sa) values depicted the increased photoacidity of the N(1)-Ha group which may facilitate the hydrogen transfer reaction. However, the increased N(6)⋯Hb bond length elevated the reaction barriers. Therefore, in the ESHT reaction channel, the co-existence of two competing factors led to a marginal/no change in the overall energy barriers due to the N(2) insertion. In the ESPT reaction pathway, the energy barriers showed notable increase upon N(2) insertion because of the increased N(6)⋯Hb bond length.  相似文献

Hydrogen bonds of phenol–cyclohexanone and phenol–H2O2 in the studied Baeyer–Villiger (B–V) oxidation have been investigated by HF, B3LYP, and MP2 methods with various basis sets. The accurate single‐point energies were performed using CCSD(T)/6‐31+G(d,p) and CCSD(T)/aug‐cc‐pVDZ on the optimized geometries of MP2/6‐31+G(d,p). It has been confirmed that B3LYP/6‐31+G(d,p) could be used to study such hydrogen bonds. Energetic analysis of complexes was carried out using the Xantheas method with BSSE corrected by CP method. Orbital energy order (ε) illuminated that phenol with good hydrogen donor‐acceptor property can interact with cyclohexanone or H2O2 to form hydrogen bound complexes, and the binding energies (BE) range from ?4.38 to ?14.06 kcal mol?1. NBO analysis indicated that the redistribution of atomic charges in the complexes facilitated nucleophilic attack of H2O2 on cyclohexanone. The calculated results match remarkably well with the experimental phenomena. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2009  相似文献

The reaction HNCH2 + HCOOH → H2NCH2COOH is supposed to be an important reaction related to the possible origin of amino acids on the early Earth. We find that it has an energy barrier of 87.37 kcal mol−1 obtained with MP2/6‐311+G** in the gas phase, but it is likely enhanced to occur in the interstellar medium (ISM) through a proton‐coupled proton transfer reaction, initiated by HNCH2 coupled with H2+, H3+, or H3+O. H2+, H3+, and H3+O serve as a donor of energy in the coupled reactions. H+, which is a key species to the coupled reactions, further, plays a catalytic role in reducing a barrier up to 14.14 kcal mol−1. In the coupled reaction with H3+O, H2O, which can seize, transport, and deliver a proton from HCOOH to H2NCH2+, reduces a barrier up to 14.96 kcal mol−1. A significant hydrogen‐tunneling pathway is predicted by the temperature dependences of kHCVT/SCT, calculated using the small curvature tunneling (SCT) approximation and canonical variational transition state theory (CVT). Hydrogen tunneling is another important mechanism to make the reaction happen in the ISM. The achieved results can be applied to discuss the origin of amino acids from the materials of the Earth itself. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2010  相似文献

Reaction of {LiC6H2−2,4,6-Cyp3⋅Et2O}2 (Cyp=cyclopentyl) ( 1 ) of the new dispersion energy donor (DED) ligand, 2,4,6-triscyclopentylphenyl with SnCl2 afforded a mixture of the distannene {Sn(C6H2−2,4,6-Cyp3)2}2 ( 2 ), and the cyclotristannane {Sn(C6H2−2,4,6-Cyp3)2}3 ( 3 ). 2 is favored in solution at higher temperature (345 K or above) whereas 3 is preferred near 298 K. Van't Hoff analysis revealed the 3 to 2 conversion has a ΔH=33.36 kcal mol−1 and ΔS=0.102 kcal mol−1 K−1, which gives a ΔG300 K=+2.86 kcal mol−1, showing that the conversion of 3 to 2 is an endergonic process. Computational studies show that DED stabilization in 3 is −28.5 kcal mol−1 per {Sn(C6H2−2,4,6-Cyp3)2 unit, which exceeds the DED energy in 2 of −16.3 kcal mol−1 per unit. The data clearly show that dispersion interactions are the main arbiter of the 3 to 2 equilibrium. Both 2 and 3 possess large dispersion stabilization energies which suppress monomer dissociation (supported by EDA results).  相似文献

The adsorption of a single H2O2 or H2O molecule on a family of periodic slab models of γ-AlOOH is studied by solid-state DFT. The single H2O2 or Н2О molecule interacts with the perfect (010) slab by intermolecular hydrogen bonds (H-bonds). In the models of γ-AlOOH with oxygen and aluminum vacancies, H2O2 or Н2О also forms covalent O∙∙∙Al bonds. The energies of covalent O∙∙∙Al and H-bonds are estimated by a combined approach based on simultaneous consideration of the total binding energies with BSSE correction and empirical schemes of the Н-bond energy evaluation. The O∙∙∙Al bond energy ranges from ~75 to ~156 kJ mol−1. The total energy of H-bond interactions in the case of H2O2 exceeds that of Н2О by ~30 kJ mol−1 for all considered slab models. In contrast to Н2О, a H2O2 molecule always forms two H-bonds as the proton donor. The energy of these bonds noticeably increase on defect γ-AlOOH surfaces in comparison with the perfect slab due to formation of short (strong) H-bonds by adsorbed H2O2.  相似文献

Density functional theory calculation on B Hb←:X interaction (X= N, O, P, S, F, Cl, Br) is performed. HOMO energy predicts the feasibility of such complexation. Steric and electronic effects play significant role on geometry of the complexes. Interaction energy suggests that the interaction is moderately strong (< 5.00 kcal mol−1) in nature and the complexes are stable in both gas and solvent phase. Electron donating group on: X facilitates the interaction whereas electron withdrawing group impedes the same. MP2 and CCSD(T) calculations further confirm the suitability of ωB97X‐D and M06‐2X functional for studying such interactions. Dispersive interaction is the primary mode of interaction in stabilizing the complexes. 1H NMR and IR study are also performed. Thermochemical analysis advocates exothermic nature of complexation.  相似文献

In the title compound, C10H7NO3·H2O, the zwitterionic organic molecules and the water molecules are connected by N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds to form ribbons, and π–π stacking interactions expand these ribbons into a three‐dimensional net. The energies of these hydrogen bonds adopt values typical for mildly weak interactions (3.33–7.75 kcal mol−1; 1 kcal mol−1 = 4.184 kJ mol−1). The total π–π stacking interactions between aromatic molecules can be classified as mildly strong (energies of 15.3 and 33.9 kcal mol−1), and they are made up of multiple constituent π–π interactions between six‐membered rings. The short intermolecular C—H...O contact between two zwitterionic molecules is nonbonding in character.  相似文献

Ab initio calculations at second-order Møller-Plesset perturbation theory with the 6-31 + G(d,p) basis set have been performed to determine the equilibrium structures and energies of a series of negative-ion hydrogen-bonded complexes with H2O, H2S, HCN, and HCl as proton donors and OH, SH, CN, and Cl as proton acceptors. The computed stabilization enthalpies of these complexes are in agreement to within the experimental error of 1 kcal mol–1 with the gas-phase hydrogen bond enthalpies, except for HOHOH, in which case the difference is 1.8 kcal mol–1. The structures of these complexes exhibit linear hydrogen bonds and directed lone pairs of electrons except for complexes with H2O as the proton donor, in which cases the hydrogen bonds deviate slightly from linearity. All of the complexes have equilibrium structures in which the hydrogen-bonded proton is nonsymmetrically bound, although the symmetric structures of HOHOH and ClHCl are only slightly less bound than the equilibrium structures. MP2/6-31 + G(d,p) hydrogen bond energies calculated at optimized MP2/B-31 + G(d,p) and at optimized HF/6-31G(d) geometries are similar. Using HF/6-31G(d) frequencies to evaluate zero-point and thermal vibrational energies does not introduce significant error into the computed hydrogen bond enthalpies of these complexes provided that the hydrogen-bonded proton is definitely nonsymmetrically bound at both Hartree-Fock and MP2.  相似文献

By conducting an excimer laser photolysis (193 and 248 nm) behind shock waves, three elementary reactions important in the oxidation of H2S have been examined, where, H, O, and S atoms have been monitored by the atomic resonance absorption spectrometry. For HS + O2 → products (1), the rate constants evaluated by numerical simulations are summarized as: k1 = 3.1 × 10−11exp|-75 kJ mol−1/RT| cm3molecule−1s−1 (T = 1400-1850 K) with an uncertainty factor of about 2. Direct measurements of the rate constants for S + O2 → SO + O (2), and SO + O2 → SO2 + O (3) yield k2 = (2.5 ± 0.6) × 10−11 exp|-(15.3 ± 2.5) kJ mol−1/RT| cm3molecule−1s−1 (T = 980-1610 K) and, k3 = (1.7 ± 0.9) × 10−12 exp|-(34 ± 11) kJ mol−1/RT| cm3molecule−1s−1 (T = 1130-1640 K), respectively. By summarizing these data together with the recent experimental results on the H(SINGLE BOND)S(SINGLE BOND)O reaction systems, a new kinetic model for the H2S oxidation process is constructed. It is found that this simple reaction scheme is consistent with the experimental result on the induction time of SO2 formation obtained by Bradley and Dobson. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Using the molecular tailoring and function-based approaches allows one to divide the energy of the O─H⋯O═C resonance-assisted hydrogen bond in a series of the β-diketones into resonance and hydrogen bonding components. The magnitude of the resonance component is assessed as about 6 kcal mol−1. This value increases by ca. 1 kcal mol−1 on going from the weak to strong resonance-assisted hydrogen bonding. The magnitude of the hydrogen bonding component varies in the wide range from 2 to 20 kcal mol−1 depending on the structure of the β-diketone in question.  相似文献
