In this article, the existence and uniqueness of positive solution for a class of nonlinear fractional differential equations is proved by constructing the upper and lower control functions of the nonlinear term without any monotone requirement. Our main method to the problem is the method of upper and lower solutions and Schauder fixed point theorem. Finally, we give an example to illuminate our results.  相似文献

We provide linearizability criteria for a class of systems of two third-order ordinary differential equations that is cubically nonlinear in the first derivative, by differentiating a system of second-order quadratically nonlinear ordinary differential equations and using the original system to replace the second derivatives. The procedure developed splits into two cases: those for which the coefficients are constant and those for which they are variables. Both cases are discussed and examples given.  相似文献

In this paper, by using the Avery-Peterson fixed point theorem, we establish the existence result of at least three positive solutions of boundary value problem of nonlinear differential equation with Riemann-Liouville''s fractional order derivative. An example illustrating our main result is given. Our results complements and extends previous work in the area of boundary value problems of nonlinear fractional differential equations.  相似文献

A splitting of a third order partial differential equation into a first-order and a second-order one is proposed as the basis for a mixed finite element method to approximate its solution. A time-continuous numerical method is described and error estimates for its solution are demonstrated. A fixed point index theory is developed for a class of nowhere normal-outward compact maps defined on a cone which do not necessarily take values in the cone. This class depends on the retractions on the cone and contains self-maps for any retractions, and weakly inward maps and generalized inward maps when the retraction is a continuous metric projection. The new index coincides with the previous fixed point index theories for compact self-maps and generalized inward compact maps. New fixed point theorems are obtained for nowhere normal-outward compact maps and applied to treat some abstract boundary value problems and Sturm-Liouville boundary value problems with nonlinearities changing signs.  相似文献

Using the Krasnoselskii–Zabreiko fixed point theorem, we establish two existence theorems for positive solutions of a coupled system of nonlinear fractional differential equations. Power functions and nonnegative matrices are used to characterize coupling behavior of our nonlinearities, so nonlinearities may grow differently; in fact, one may grow superlinearly, and the other may grow sublinearly. We prove new results regarding the existence of positive solutions for a nonlinear periodic boundary value problem related to the Liebau phenomenon. As a consequence we obtain new sufficient conditions for the existence of a pump in a simple model. Our methodology relies on the use of classical fixed point index. We present new conditions for stability of the zero solution for three distinct classes of scalar nonlinear delay differential equations. Our approach is based on fixed point methods and has the advantage that our conditions neither require boundedness of delays nor fixed sign conditions on the coefficient functions. Our work extends and improves a number of recent stability results for nonlinear functional differential equations in a unified framework.
