Electron-positron pair production in an arbitrary polarized ultrastrong laser field is investigated in the first order perturbation approximation in which the Volkov states are used for convenient calculation of scattering amplitude and cross section. It is found surprisingly that the optimal pair production depends strongly on the polarization. For some cases of field parameters, the optimal field is elliptically polarized or evenly circularly polarized one, rather than the usual linear polarization as indicated by previous works. Some insights into pair generation are given and some interesting unexpected features are also discussed briefly.  相似文献

Electron-positron pair production in a strong laser field enhanced by an assisted high frequency weak field is investigated by solving the quantum Vlasov equation.The average and residual pair number densities are obtained for sinusoid electric field and it is found that the high frequency assisted weak field will enhance pair production significantly.There exists an optimal frequency of assisted field that makes the pair production number density get a maximum one,which is a few orders of higher than that without assisted field.We also discuss the other possible assisted fields.  相似文献

Early time electron-positron correlation in vacuum pair-production in an external field is investigated. The entangled electron and positron wave functions are obtained analytically in the configuration and momentum spaces. It is shown that, relative to that of the one-dimensional theory, two- and three-dimensional calculations yield enhanced spatial correlation and broadened momentum spectra. In fact, at early times the electron and positron almost coincide spatially. The correlation also depends on the direction of the applied field. For the spatial correlation, the transverse correlation is stronger than the longitudinal correlation.  相似文献

It is demonstrated that the production mechanism of a pair which is produced from vacuum under an external field can be characterized by its conversion energy, a quantity defined as total mass-energy of this pair. The value of this quantity is checked with quantum field theoretical simulations for several field configurations and it is found that conversion energy can show all the production channels and give the yields of each channel specifically. We detect signatures of effective mass, combination of different photons as well as dynamically assisted Schwinger mechanism and represented more features of these processes in the view of conversion energy.  相似文献

It is shown that an atomic state aligned by optical pumping with linearly polarized laser light, is partly transformed into an oriented state by the action of an electric field (Stark effect) or by collisional interaction with electrons. Evoiution of a non-neutral cold electron-positron plasma slab is investigated.Initially the slab consists of a quasineutral plasma core bounded on both sides by layers containing only positrons(or electrons).Results from a nonperturbative,or mathematically exact,analysis of the governing fluid conservation equations and the Poisson equation show that despite their equal mass and charge magnitude,the electron and positron fronts can expand separately as well as a single Quid,and that nonlinear surface oscillations can be excited on the expansion fronts.  相似文献

The process of pair creation by a photon in a constant and homogeneous electric field is investigated basing on the polarization operator in the field. The total probability of the process is found in a relatively simple form. At high energy the quasiclassical approximation is valid. The corrections to the standard quasiclassical approximation (SQA) are calculated. In the region of relatively low photon energies, where SQA is unapplicable, the new approximation is used. It is shown that in this energy interval the probability of pair creation by a photon in electric field exceeds essentially the corresponding probability in a magnetic field. This approach is valid at the photon energy much larger than the “vacuum” energy in electric field: ω?eE/m. For smaller photon energies the low energy approximation is developed. At ω?eE/m the found probability describes the absorption of soft photon by the particles created by an electric field.  相似文献

We consider the relativistic electron-positron field interacting with itself via the Coulomb potential defined with the physically motivated, positive, density-density quartic interaction. The more usual normal-ordered Hamiltonian differs from the bare Hamiltonian by a quadratic term and, by choosing the normal ordering in a suitable, self-consistent manner, the quadratic term can be seen to be equivalent to a renormalization of the Dirac operator. Formally, this amounts to a Bogolubov-Valatin transformation, but in reality it is non-perturbative, for it leads to an inequivalent, fine-structure dependent representation of the canonical anticommutation relations. This non-perturbative redefinition of the electron/positron states can be interpreted as a mass, wave-function and charge renormalization, among other possibilities, but the main point is that a non-perturbative definition of normal ordering might be a useful starting point for developing a consistent quantum electrodynamics. It is suggested that electron-positron (e+ e-) plasma can be accelerated using the concept of cyclotron autoresonance between the particles and a linearly polarized laser radiation propagating along an axial magnetic field (Bz). This scheme can also be applied for other plasmas with oppositely charged particles of equal ?q?/m (e.g., positive and negative ions). An e+ e- plasma can be accelerated to about 2 GeV in the first meter along a 100-kG guide magnetic field by using an Nd: glass laser (?0 = 1 ?m) with intensity I0 = 1018 W/cm2. The acceleration scales asymptotically as (Bz, I0 ?0 Z2)1/3, where z is the axial distance.  相似文献

We discuss dynamic properties of an orientational-kink pair in hydrogen-bonded chains in the presence of an external force and damping, based on a new two-component soliton model. We study the scattering of an electromagnetic wave by an orientational-kink pair. Finally, we find the expressions of the scattering cross-section of an orientational-kink pair for an electromagnetic wave and the mobility of the orientational-kink pair.  相似文献

In order to extend the capabilities of the ATOMKI-ECRIS it is being transformed into a modified plasma device by changing its three main components with new ones.The cylindrical plasma chamber is replaced by a larger one(ID=10cm,L=40cm).A new NdFeB multi-pole radial trap was designed and purchased.The basic configuration is 6-pole,but 8-or 12-pole arrangements can also be formed later.The Dresent microwave source(2000W,14.5GHz)and two additional low-power,wide frequency TWT amplifiers give many opportunities to form plasmas with different sizes and characters. Actually a new facility with two sharply different operation modes is being established.All the modifications are reversible so the transformation of the ECRIS into this new device or back can be easily done.  相似文献
