The densities of tetraalkylammonium bromide, R4NBr (R = Et, Pr, Bu, Hex, Hep, Oct), solutions in dimethylformamide have been measured for the composition range (0.05–0.4) mol-kg−1 at 25 C. Apparent molar Vφ and limiting partial molar volumes 2o of the electrolytes have been evaluated. Using the extrapolation values, the limiting partial molar volumes of the tetraalkymammonium ions (io) have been calculated. Analysis of different contributions to the ionic io indicated partial penetration of solvent molecules into the van der Waal’s volume of tetraalkylammonium (TAA) ions.  相似文献

The interactions of triblock copolymers (TBP) with ionic surfactants were studied employing surface tensiometry, electrical conductivity, steady-state fluorescence (SSF), and dynamic light scattering (DLS) techniques. An increasing trend in the critical micelle concentration (CMC) of SDS/CTAB in the presence of triblock copolymers was observed especially at higher polymer to surfactant ratio. The delay in the CMC of surfactants was more pronounced in the presence of E48B10E48 possibly due to its less hydrophobic nature. The negative values of free energy of micellization (ΔGm) both in case of SDS and CTAB confirmed the spontaneity of the processes. The aggregation number (Nagg) and hydrodynamic radius (Rh) of polymer/surfactant mixed systems were determined by SSF and DLS. The suppression of the surfactant micelle size in the presence of TBP was confirmed by SSF and DLS studies.  相似文献

By reacting [{Cp‴Fe(CO)2}2(µ,η1:1-P4)] (1) with in situ generated phosphenium ions [Ph2P][A] ([A] = [OTf] = [O3SCF3], [PF6]), a mixture of two main products of the composition [{Cp‴Fe(CO)2}2(µ,η1:1-P5(C6H5)2)][PF6] (2a and 3a) could be identified by extensive 31P NMR spectroscopic studies at 193 K. Compound 3a was also characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis, showing the rarely observed bicyclo[2.1.0]pentaphosphapentane unit. At room temperature, the novel compound [{Cp‴Fe}(µ,η4:1-P5Ph2){Cp‴(CO)2Fe}][PF6] (4) is formed by decarbonylation. Reacting 1 with in situ generated diphenyl arsenium ions gives short-lived intermediates at 193 K which disproportionate at room temperature into tetraphenyldiarsine and [{Cp‴Fe(CO)2}441:1:1:1-P8)][OTf]2 (5) containing a tetracyclo[3.3.0.02,7.03,6]octaphosphaoctane ligand.  相似文献

A series of model compounds and heptadentate neutral phosphorus-containing podands that differ in the conformational rigidity of the terminal groups and in the coordination properties of the phosphoryl groups were synthesized. The thermodynamic parameters of complexation and the cationic selectivity of organophosphorus compounds and podands with respect to LiNCS and NaNCS were studied by calorimetric titration in acetonitrile at 298 K. The reasons for the high selectivity of certain phosphorus-containing podands to the Li+ cation are discussed.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. We report results of a microcalorimetry study of the association of inorganic and organic cations with two p-sulfonatocalix[n]arenes (host 1: n = 4; host 2: n = 6) in aqueous solution at 298.15 K. First, we have determined the thermodynamic parameters for the complexation between the host 2 and a series of quaternary ammonium cations. We have evaluated the influence of the pH on the structure and energetics of these organic complexes. We have also reported the association constant and enthalpy of reaction for the complexation of some rare-earth cations (Sm3+, Dy3+, Y3+ and Sc3+ cations) with the two hosts. In all cases we have observed the formation of 1:1 complexes.

Whereas the association is driven by a favourable entropy change for the inorganic cations (ΔH > 0 and TΔS>>0), it is controlled by a favourable enthalpy change for the organic cations (ΔH < < 0 and TΔS < 0 or >0). In acidic solution, the complexes formed between host 2 and tetraalkylammonium cations are weaker than those formed with the cyclic tetramer. In neutral solution this effect is not observed. All the results are in line with a conformational change of host 2 with the pH.  相似文献

The complexation reactions between Mg2+, Ca2+, Ag+ and Cd2+ metal cations with N-phenylaza-15-crown-5 (Ph-N15C5) were studied in acetonitrile (AN)–methanol (MeOH), methanol (MeOH)–water (H2O) and propanol (PrOH)–water (H2O) binary mixtures at different temperatures using the conductometric method. The conductance data show that the stochiometry of all of the complexes with Mg2+, Ca2+, Ag+ and Cd2+ cations is 1:1 (L:M). The stability of the complexes is sensitive to the solvent composition and a non-linear behaviour was observed for variation of log K f of the complexes versus the composition of the binary mixed solvents. The selectivity order of Ph-N15C5 for the metal cations in neat MeOH is Ag+>Cd2+>Ca2+>Mg2+, but in the case of neat AN is Ca2+>Cd2+>Mg2+>Ag+. The values of thermodynamic parameters (ΔH c o , ΔS c o ) for formation of Ph-N15C5–Mg2+, Ph-N15C5–Ca2+, Ph-N15C5–Ag+ and Ph-N15C5–Cd2+ complexes were obtained from temperature dependence of stability constants and the results show that the thermodynamics of complexation reactions is affected by the nature and composition of the mixed solvents.  相似文献

Nonempirical LCAO-MO-SCF calculations employing STO-3G minimal basis set have been carried out to examine the two limiting, open and bridged, structures of a conjugative fluorovinyl cation system and the interconversion of these two structures. The bridged ion is found to be 37.6 kcal/mole higher in energy than the open ion. Three pathways of converting the open ion to bridged ion were investigated. The pathway in which conjugation is preserved along the reaction profile gives the lowest energy barrier and depicts the bridged ion as a transition state.  相似文献

Viscosity B-coefficients for cesium chloride and lithium sulfate in methanol + water mixtures at 25 and 35 °C are reported. A general treatment of the quasi-thermodynamics of viscous flow of electrolyte solutions is described. ΔG 3 Θ (1→1′), the contribution made to the Gibbs energy of activation of the solution by the influence of the solute on the solvent, is a function of solute–solvent interactions only; but, ΔH 3 Θ (1→1′) and ΔS 3 Θ (1→1′) also reflect the solvent–solvent interactions. In aqueous solution all alkali-metal ions except Li+ are sterically unsaturated, having solvent co-ordination numbers n<n max , the maximum allowed sterically. Such complexes exchange molecules with the solvent more readily than saturated ones and have energy–reaction co-ordinate diagrams in forms that explain the negative B or ΔG 3 Θ (1→1′) values found in aqueous solution. Saturated complexes are the norm in non-aqueous solvents, and the ΔG 3 Θ (1→1′) values are determined mainly by the secondary solvation. Behavior in mixed solvents reflects the transition from aqueous to non-aqueous behavior across the range of solvent composition.  相似文献

Several polyatomic ions in inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry are studied experimentally and by computational methods. Novel calculations based on spin-restricted open shell second order perturbation theory (ZAPT2) and coupled cluster (CCSD(T)) theory are performed to determine the energies, structures and partition functions of the ions. These values are combined with experimental data to evaluate a dissociation constant and gas kinetic temperature (Tgas) value. In our opinion, the resulting Tgas value can sometimes be interpreted to deduce the location where the polyatomic ion of interest is generated. The dissociation of N2H+ to N2+ leads to a calculated Tgas of 4550 to 4900 K, depending on the computational data used. The COH+ to CO+ system yields a similar temperature, which is not surprising considering the similar energies and structures of COH+ and N2H+. The dissociation of H2CO+ to HCO+ leads to a much lower Tgas (< 1000 to 2000 K). Finally, the dissociation of H2COH+ to HCOH+ generates a Tgas value between those from the other HxCO+ ions studied here. All of these measured Tgas values correspond to formation of extra polyatomic ion in the interface or extraction region. The computations reveal the existence of isomers such as HCO+ and COH+, and H2CO+ and HCOH+, which have virtually the same m/z values and need to be considered in the interpretation of results.  相似文献

One-electron oxidation of 2-selenouracil (2-SeU) by hydroxyl (OH) and azide (N3) radicals leads to various primary reactive intermediates. Their optical absorption spectra and kinetic characteristics were studied by pulse radiolysis with UV-vis spectrophotometric and conductivity detection and by the density functional theory (DFT) method. The transient absorption spectra recorded in the reactions of OH with 2-SeU are dominated by an absorption band with an λmax = 440 nm, the intensity of which depends on the concentration of 2-SeU and pH. Based on the combination of conductometric and DFT studies, the transient absorption band observed both at low and high concentrations of 2-SeU was assigned to the dimeric 2c-3e Se-Se-bonded radical in neutral form (2). The dimeric radical (2) is formed in the reaction of a selenyl-type radical (6) with 2-SeU, and both radicals are in equilibrium with Keq = 1.3 × 104 M−1 at pH 4 (below the pKa of 2-SeU). Similar equilibrium with Keq = 4.4 × 103 M−1 was determined for pH 10 (above the pKa of 2-SeU), which admittedly involves the same radical (6) but with a dimeric 2c-3e Se-Se bonded radical in anionic form (2●−). In turn, at the lowest concentration of 2-SeU (0.05 mM) and pH 10, the transient absorption spectrum is dominated by an absorption band with an λmax = 390 nm, which was assigned to the OH adduct to the double bond at C5 carbon atom (3) based on DFT calculations. Similar spectral and kinetic features were also observed during the N3-induced oxidation of 2-SeU. In principle, our results mostly revealed similarities in one-electron oxidation pathways of 2-SeU and 2-thiouracil (2-TU). The major difference concerns the stability of dimeric radicals with a 2c-3e chalcogen-chalcogen bond in favor of 2-SeU.  相似文献

Summary Vanadyl sulfate, VOSO4, was characterized as the mobile phase for the ion exchange separation of Li+, Na+, NH 4 + , and K+ using indirect photometric detection at 254 nm. Detection limits ranged from 0.2 ppm for Li+ to 1 ppm for K+. Indirect electrochemical detection of these separated cations by reduction of VO (II) to V3+ was compared to spectrophotometric detection. The potential of the vanadate species, HVO 4 2– , for the separation of F, Cl, and SO 4 2– , with indirect photometric detection was also demonstrated.  相似文献

The kinetics of formation of AlSO 4 + has been investigated in mixtures of water and formamide. In contrast to similar measurements with BeSO4, the substitution of solvating formamide molecules by the sulfate ion cannot be observed on the aluminum cation. On the other hand, with Al3+ cations three well separated water substitution processes are observed, as compared to a single one only with Be2+. An explanation for this behavior and for the different pH dependence of the sulfate complex formation for Al3+ and Be2+ cations is suggested.  相似文献

The methylation reactions at ten nucleophilic sites in four DNA base molecules with methanediazonium ions (CH3N2 +) have been theoretically investigated including solvent effects at the B3LYP/6-31G** and MP2/6-31G** levels. The results show that all the methylation reactions have relatively small activation energy (<33.5 kJ/mol), and the methylation process is exothermic reaction and easy to occur. This study shows that the ultimate carcinogen CH3N2 + by NDMA can easily methylate DNA base molecules and form carcinogenic products. Summary Ab initio molecular orbital calculations give small stabilization energies for the various Na(CH4)+ adducts (less than 4 kcal mol–1), but predict a stronger binding for the copper compounds (about 13 kcal mol–1). The different behaviour of Na+ and Cu+, already present at the SCF level, is reinforced by electron correlation. This can be attributed to an important contribution of the dispersion energy to the binding energy of the copper ion: about 40% of the total, including basis set superposition corrections.Dedicated to Mrs A. Ab initio cluster quantum chemical calculations at the Hartree–Fock (HF/Lanl2dz) and correlated second-order Moller–Plesset perturbation theory (MP2/Lanl2dz) levels were performed for NO and N2O interactions with Ag+ and Cu+ ion-exchanged zeolites. The interaction energies were estimated in a conventional way and also corrected for basis set superposition errors. It was shown that the highly dispersed Ag+ counterions establish twofold coordination to the lattice oxygens on the zeolite surface, similar to the case of Cu+ ions. However, both NO and N2O bind relatively strongly to the Cu active sites of Cu+ ion-exchanged zeolites than those of the Ag+ site of the Ag+ ion-exchanged zeolites. Based on the results of these calculations, the two different forms of adsorption for these molecules on the catalyst surface, the nature of their binding and characteristics of the adsorption properties have been discussed. Finally, some comparisons with the results obtained by a variety of density functional theory calculations on target systems have been presented.  相似文献

Summary Bound rovibrational levels have been calculated for NeH 2 + , NeHD+, and NeD 2 + using three recent fits to an accurateab initio PES. The NeH 2 + molecule behaves essentially as a linear molecule, the predicted rotational constant is 2.57 cm–1. The fundamental frequencies are 811, 1189, and 1748 cm–1 for the Ne-H 2 + stretch, the Ne-H 2 + bend and H 2 + stretching modes, respectively.Dedicated to the 60th birthday of Prof. W.
