We show that for a -action Ψ being the Kronecker sum of a symbolic strictly ergodic -actionT and a Chacon -actionS, the rank (covering number) of Ψ is the same as that forT. Using this result we construct, for a given natural numberr≥2 and a real numberb∈(0,1) withr\b≥1, a -action with rankr, covering numberb and a simple spectrum. On the other hand, for any positive integersr, m with 1≤mr≤∞ we construct a -action with rankr and spectral multiplicitym.  相似文献

A bounded linear operator T is clalled p-hyponormal if (T*T)p ≥ (TT)p, 0 < p < 1. It is known that for semi-hyponormal operators (p = 1/2), the spectrum of the operator is equal to the union of the spectra of the general polar symbols of the operator. In this paper we prove a somewhat weaker result for invertible p-hyponormal operators for 0 < p < 1/2.  相似文献

Denote byS * (⌕), (0≤⌕<1), the family consisting of functionsf(z)=z+a 2z2+...+anzn+... that are analytic and starlike of order ⌕, in the unit disc ⋎z⋎<1. In the present article among other things, with very simple conditions on μ, ⌕ andh(z) we prove the f’(z) (f(z)/z)μ−1<h(z) implies f∈S*(⌕). Our results in this direction then admit new applications in the study of univalent functions. In many cases these results considerably extend the earlier works of Miller and Mocanu [6] and others.  相似文献

For aC 0-contraction semigroup (S(t)) t≥0 of bounded linear operators on a complex Banach spaceX, J. A. Goldstein and B. Nagy [6] have shown that, givenx∈X, S(t)x=e iλt x, t≥0, for some λ∈ℝ, provided lim t→∞ |<S(t)x,x * >|=|<x,x * >| for allx *∈X*. We present (a) an extension to the case of nonlinear nonexpansive mapsS(t), t≥0, and (b) various generalizations in the linear context.  相似文献

In this paper we show that there exist mod 2 obstructions to the smoothness of 3-Sasakian reductions of spheres. Specifically, ifS is a smooth 3-Sasakian manifold obtained by reduction of the 3-Sasakian sphereS 4n−1 by a torus, and if the second Betti numberb 2(S)≥2 then dimS=7, 11, 15, whereas, ifb 2 (S)≥5 then dimS=7. We also show that the above bounds are sharp, in that we construct explicit examples of 3-Sasakian manifolds in the cases not excluded by these bounds. We study the structural properties of the class Mk,λ,b(k≥2, 0≤λ≤1, b∈ℂ\{0}) of functions f(z)=z+ ... which are regular in |z|<1 and satisfy the conditions f(z)f′(z)z−1≠0 and , where J(z)=λ(1+b−1zf″(z)/f′(z)+(1−λ)(b−1zf′(z)/f(z)+1−b−1). The value regions of some functionals on this class are found. The case λ=1 was considered in our previous paper. Bibliography: 4 titles. Characterizations and Extensions of Lipschitz-α Operators   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this work, we prove that a map F from a compact metric space K into a Banach space X over F is a Lipschitz-α operator if and only if for each σ in X^* the map σoF is a Lipschitz-α function on K. In the case that K = [a, b], we show that a map f from [a, b] into X is a Lipschitz-1 operator if and only if it is absolutely continuous and the map σ→ (σ o f)' is a bounded linear operator from X^* into L^∞([a, b]). When K is a compact subset of a finite interval (a, b) and 0 〈 α ≤ 1, we show that every Lipschitz-α operator f from K into X can be extended as a Lipschitz-α operator F from [a, b] into X with Lα(f) ≤ Lα(F) ≤ 3^1-α Lα(f). A similar extension theorem for a little Lipschitz-α operator is also obtained.  相似文献

Let X be a smooth projective variety of dimension n over an algebraically closed field k with char(k)=p>0 and F:XX 1 be the relative Frobenius morphism. For any vector bundle W on X, we prove that instability of F * W is bounded by instability of W⊗T1 X ) (0≤ℓ≤n(p-1)) (Corollary 4.9). When X is a smooth projective curve of genus g≥2, it implies F * W being stable whenever W is stable. Dedicated to Professor Zhexian Wan on the occasion of his 80th birthday.  相似文献

For natural numbers r,s,q,m,n with srq we determine all natural functions g: T *(J (r,s,q)(Y, R 1,1)0)*R for any fibered manifold Y with m-dimensional base and n-dimensional fibers. For natural numbers r,s,m,n with sr we determine all natural functions g: T *(J (r,s) (Y, R)0)*R for any Y as above.  相似文献

We prove that, ifA is a complex Banach algebra with a unit 1 and a conjugate-linear vector space involution* such that 1*=1 and‖a *a‖=‖a*‖ ‖a‖ for alla inA, and ifdim(A)≥3, thenA is a C*-algebra. The two-dimensional case is also considered and described.  相似文献

. In this work we consider finite undirected simple graphs. If G=(V,E) is a graph we denote by α(G) the stability number of G. For any vertex x let N[x] be the union of x and the neighborhood N(x). For each pair of vertices ab of G we associate the set J(a,b) as follows. J(a,b)={uN[a]∩N[b]∣N(u)⊆N[a]∪N[b]}. Given a graph G, its partially squareG * is the graph obtained by adding an edge uv for each pair u,v of vertices of G at distance 2 whenever J(u,v) is not empty. In the case G is a claw-free graph, G * is equal to G 2. If G is k-connected, we cover the vertices of G by at most ⌈α(G *)/k⌉ cycles, where α(G *) is the stability number of the partially square graph of G. On the other hand we consider in G * conditions on the sum of the degrees. Let G be any 2-connected graph and t be any integer (t≥2). If ∑ x S deg G (x)≥|G|, for every t-stable set SV(G) of G * then the vertex set of G can be covered with t−1 cycles. Different corollaries on covering by paths are given. We present existence principles for the nonlocal boundary-value problem (φ(u(p−1)))′=g(t,u,...,u(p−1), αk(u)=0, 1≤k≤p−1, where p ≥ 2, π: ℝ → ℝ is an increasing and odd homeomorphism, g is a Carathéodory function that is either regular or has singularities in its space variables, and α k: C p−1[0, T] → ℝ is a continuous functional. An application of the existence principles to singular Sturm-Liouville problems (−1)n(φ(u(2n−)))′=f(t,u,...,u(2n−1)), u(2k)(0)=0, αku(2k)(T)+bku(2k=1)(T)=0, 0≤k≤n−1, is given. The perturbation classes problem for semi-Fredholm operators asks when the equalities SS(X,Y)=PF+(X,Y){\mathcal{SS}(X,Y)=P\Phi_+(X,Y)} and SC(X,Y)=PF-(X,Y){\mathcal{SC}(X,Y)=P\Phi_-(X,Y)} are satisfied, where SS{\mathcal{SS}} and SC{\mathcal{SC}} denote the strictly singular and the strictly cosingular operators, and PΦ+ and PΦ denote the perturbation classes for upper semi-Fredholm and lower semi-Fredholm operators. We show that, when Y is a reflexive Banach space, SS(Y*,X*)=PF+(Y*,X*){\mathcal{SS}(Y^*,X^*)=P\Phi_+(Y^*,X^*)} if and only if SC(X,Y)=PF-(X,Y),{\mathcal{SC}(X,Y)=P\Phi_-(X,Y),} and SC(Y*,X*)=PF-(Y*,X*){\mathcal{SC}(Y^*,X^*)=P\Phi_-(Y^*,X^*)} if and only if SS(X,Y)=PF+(X,Y){\mathcal{SS}(X,Y)=P\Phi_+(X,Y)}. Moreover we give examples showing that both direct implications fail in general.  相似文献

It is proved in Benamara-Nikolski [1] that if the spectrum σ(T) of a contractionT with finite defects (rank(I−T * T)=rank (I−TT *)<∞) does not coincide with , then the contraction is similar to a normal operator if and only if
The examples of Kupin-Treil [9] show that the result is no longer true if we replace the condition rank (I−T * T)<∞ by its weakened versionG, whereG denotes the class of nuclear operators. We prove in this paper that, however, the following theorem holds  相似文献

Consider a general random walk on ℤd together with an i.i.d. random coloring of ℤd. TheT, T -1-process is the one where time is indexed by ℤ, and at each unit of time we see the step taken by the walk together with the color of the newly arrived at location. S. Kalikow proved that ifd = 1 and the random walk is simple, then this process is not Bernoulli. We generalize his result by proving that it is not Bernoulli ind = 2, Bernoulli but not Weak Bernoulli ind = 3 and 4, and Weak Bernoulli ind ≥ 5. These properties are related to the intersection behavior of the past and the future of simple random walk. We obtain similar results for general random walks on ℤd, leading to an almost complete classification. For example, ind = 1, if a step of sizex has probability proportional to l/|x|α (x ⊋ 0), then theT, T -1-process is not Bernoulli when α ≥2, Bernoulli but not Weak Bernoulli when 3/2 ≤α < 2, and Weak Bernoulli when 1 < α < 3/2. We prove that a functionF of the Selberg class ℐ is ab-th power in ℐ, i.e.,F=H b for someHσ ℐ, if and only ifb divides the order of every zero ofF and of everyp-componentF p. This implies that the equationF a=Gb with (a, b)=1 has the unique solutionF=H b andG=H a in ℐ. As a consequence, we prove that ifF andG are distinct primitive elements of ℐ, then the transcendence degree of ℂ[F,G] over ℂ is two.  相似文献

Let A⊆N={0,1,2,...} and β be an n-ary Boolean function. We call A a β-implicatively selector (β-IS) set if there exists an n-ary selector general recursive function f such that (∀x1,...,xn)(β(χ(x1),...,χ(xn))=1⟹f(x1,...,xn)∈A), where χ is the characteristic function of A. Let F(m), m≥1, be the family of all d m+1 * -IS sets, where , F(0)=N, and F(∞) is the class of all subsets in N. The basic result of the article says that the family of all β-IS sets coincides with one of F(m), m≥0, or F(∞), and, moreover, the inclusions F(0)⊂F(1)⊂...⊂F(∞) hold.  To any locally finite thick building of type there is naturally associated a commutative algebra of operators. When is constructed from a local field F with local ring , and , then is isomorphic to the convolution algebra of compactly supported bi-K-invariant functions on PGL(n+1,F). We give a proof, valid for any , that the multiplicative functionals on may all be expressed in terms of Hall–Littlewood polynomials. Regarding as a subalgebra of the C *-algebra of bounded operators on the space of square summable functions on the vertex set of , we find the spectrum of the C *-algebra , the closure of . This generalizes results obtained in [3] when n = 1 and in [5] when n = 2.  相似文献
