The effects of milling time and annealing temperature on phase formation, microstructure and magnetic properties of nickel-cobalt ferrite synthesized from oxide precursors by mechanical alloying were studied. The study of milling time effects on phase formation of milled materials showed that if milling continues up to 55 h, single phase nano-sized nickel-cobalt ferrite is obtained. Also, magnetic properties of powders versus milling time and annealing at different temperatures extensively changed, so that annealing at 1200 °C increased the magnetization saturation of the as-milled powder from 15.1 to 53.6 emu/g. X-ray powder diffraction technique (XRD) with Cu-Ka radiation was employed for phase identification. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were also used to determine the morphology and size of the particles. The magnetic properties were measured by a vibration sample magnetometer (VSM). 相似文献

Nanostructured Fe49Co49V2 powders were produced by high energy milling at different milling times and then examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The saturation magnetization and coercivity of samples were measured at room temperature by a vibration sample magnetometer (VSM). Structural studies show that as the milling time increases from 0 to 125 h, the average grain size reduces from 130 to about 8-10 nm, while the microstrain increases up to 1.7%. The lattice parameter decreases from 0 to 36 h and then increases up to 125 h. According to the XRD patterns, the formation of intermetallic compound of (Fe, Co)V after about 16 h affects the magnetic properties. The coercivity totally increases up to 61 Oe due to the introduction of microstrain during the milling process. Magnetic measurements reveal that the saturation magnetization has some fluctuations during the milling treatment and finally at 125 h reaches about 180 emu/g 相似文献

The paper presents the synthesis and properties of polymer nanocomposite material based on cerium doped magnetite (Fe3O4) as filler material and poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) as host matrix. The magnetite (Fe3O4) particles were synthesized by co-precipitation route using stable ferrous and ferric salts with ammonium hydroxide as precipitating agent. Further, they doped by cerium oxide (CeO2) non-stoichiometrically. The composite material was fabricated by solvent evaporation method. Here 2.4 GHz microwaves were used to study the effect of microwaves heating on polymerization. The phase and crystal structure is determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The average crystallite size of the composites varies from 28 to 35 nm. The chemical structure is confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The magnetic and thermal properties are investigated by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The thermal study shows that the microwave heated samples possess higher glass transition temperature (Tg). The magnetic results suggest that coercivity (HC) and squareness (Mr/Ms) of the loop increases with increasing doping percent of cerium. 相似文献

We synthesized Fe3O4@C@Ag nanocomposites through a combination of solvothermal, hydrothermal, and chemical redox reactions. Characterization of the resulting samples by X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, field-emission scanning and transmission electron microscopy, and magnetic measurement is reported. Compared to Fe3O4@Ag nanocomposites, the Fe3O4@C@Ag nanocomposites showed enhanced antibacterial activity. The Fe3O4@C@Ag nanocomposites were able to almost entirely prevent growth of Escherichia coli when the concentration of Ag nanoparticles was 10 μg/mL. Antibacterial activity of the Fe3O4@C@Ag nanocomposites was maintained for more than 40 h at 37 °C. The intermediate carbon layer not only protects magnetic core, but also improves the dispersion and antibacterial activity of the silver nanoparticles. The magnetic core can be used to control the specific location of the antibacterial agent (via external magnetic field) and to recycle the residual silver nanoparticles. The Fe3O4@C@Ag nanocomposites will have potential uses in many fields as catalysts, absorbents, and bifunctional magnetic-optical materials. 相似文献

Co:Cr2O3 nanocomposites were prepared with phase separated metallic Co clusters in a wide range of concentrations namely 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 wt% Co. Samples were annealed at different temperatures to study the effects of crystallization of Cr2O3 and the growth of Co metal clusters on the magnetic behavior of nanocomposites. Enhanced crystallinity of antiferromagnetic (Cr2O3) matrix and growth of Co clusters with higher annealing temperatures strongly affects the coercivity, saturation and magnetic viscosity in these hybrid materials. Amorphous Cr2O3 acts as a paramagnetic matrix for Co particles. Exchange anisotropy stabilizes magnetic moments of Co embedded in Cr2O3 only if Cr2O3 is crystalline. This exchange anisotropy leads to the enhancement of coercivity. Relaxation measurements confirm that exchange anisotropy is higher for samples with lower Co content. 相似文献

A detailed study of the in-plane magnetotransport properties of spin valves with one and two Fe3O4 electrodes is presented. Fe3O4/Au/Fe3O4 spin valves exhibit a clear anisotropic magnetoresistance in small magnetic fields but no giant magnetoresistance (GMR). The absence of GMR in these structures is due to simultaneous magnetization reversal in the two Fe3O4 layers. By contrast, a negative GMR effect is measured on Fe3O4/Au/Fe spin valves. The negative GMR is attributed to an electron spin scattering asymmetry at the Fe3O4/Au interface or an induced spin scattering asymmetry in the Au interfacial layers. 相似文献

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) decorated with magnetite nanoparticles on their external surface have been fabricated by in situ solvothermal method, which was conducted in benzene at 500 °C with ferrocene and CNTs as starting reagents. The as-prepared composites were characterized using XRD, FTIR, SEM and TEM. It has been found that the amount of magnetite nanoparticles deposited on the CNTs can be controlled by adjusting the initial mass ratio of ferrocene to CNTs. The Fe3O4-CNT composites display good ferromagnetic property at room temperature, with a saturation magnetization value (Ms) of 32.5 emu g−1 and a coercivity (Hc) of 110 Oe. 相似文献

Methods to synthesize magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles and to modify the surface of particles are presented in the present investigation. Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were prepared by the co-precipitation of Fe3+ and Fe2+, NH3·H2O was used as the precipitating agent to adjust the pH value, and the aging of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles was accelerated by microwave (MW) irradiation. The obtained Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The average size of Fe3O4 crystallites was found to be around 8–9 nm. Thereafter, the surface of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles was modified by stearic acid. The resultant sample was characterized by FT-IR, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), XRD, lipophilic degree (LD) and sedimentation test. The FT-IR results indicated that a covalent bond was formed by chemical reaction between the hydroxyl groups on the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles and carboxyl groups of stearic acid, which changed the polarity of Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The dispersion of Fe3O4 in organic solvent was greatly improved. Effects of reaction time, reaction temperature and concentration of stearic acid on particle surface modification were investigated. In addition, Fe3O4/polystyrene (PS) nanocomposite was synthesized by adding surface modified Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles into styrene monomer, followed by the radical polymerization. The obtained nanocomposite was tested by thermogravimetry (TG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and XRD. Results revealed that the thermal stability of PS was not significantly changed after adding Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The Fe3O4 magnetic fluid was characterized using UV–vis spectrophotometer, Gouy magnetic balance and laser particle-size analyzer. The testing results showed that the magnetic fluid had excellent stability, and had susceptibility of 4.46×10−8 and saturated magnetization of 6.56 emu/g. In addition, the mean size d (0.99) of magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles in the fluid was 36.19 nm. 相似文献

A simple and reproducible method was developed to synthesize a novel class of Fe3O4/SiO2/dye/SiO2 composite nanoparticles. As promising candidates for use in bioassays, the obtained nanoparticles have an average diameter of 30 nm, and the thickness of the outer shell of silica could be tuned by changing the concentration of the silicon precursor tetraethyl orthosilicate during the synthesis. These multifunctional nanoparticles were found to be highly luminescent, photostable and superparamagnetic. The luminescence intensity of the nanoparticles was increased as the dye concentration was increased in the preparation process. The color of the luminescence was successfully tuned by incorporating different dyes into the nanoparticles. The measurements of the emission spectra indicated that relative to the dye molecules dissolved in ethanol, the emission of the dye-doped nanoparticles exhibited either a red shift or a blue shift, to which a tentative explanation was given. 相似文献

The structural, microstructural and magnetic properties of nanoferrite NiFe2O4 (NF), CoFe2O4 (CF) and MnFe2O4 (MF) thin films have been studied. The coating solution of these ferrite films was prepared by a chemical synthesis route called sol-gel combined metallo-organic decomposition method. The solution was coated on Si substrate by spin coating and annealed at 700 °C for 3 h. X-ray diffraction pattern has been used to analyze the phase structure and lattice parameters. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) have been used to show the nanostructural behavior of these ferrites. The values of average grain's size from SEM are 44, 60 and 74 nm, and from AFM are 46, 61 and 75 nm, respectively, measured for NF, CF and MF ferrites. At room temperature, the values of saturation magnetization, Ms∼50.60, 33.52 and 5.40 emu/cc, and remanent magnetization, Mr∼14.33, 15.50 and 1.10 emu/cc, respectively, are observed for NF, CF and MF. At low temperature measurements of 10 K, the anisotropy of ferromagnetism is observed in these ferrite films. The superparamagnetic/paramagnetic behavior is also confirmed by χ′(T) curves of AC susceptibility by applying DC magnetizing field of 3 Oe. The temperature dependent magnetization measurements show the magnetic phase transition temperature. 相似文献

The mechanosynthesis of Fe50Zn50 alloy resulted in the formation of the bcc Fe(Zn) solid solution after 20 h of milling. Structural transformations induced by mechanical alloying and heating, and magnetic properties of the powders were studied by Mössbauer spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Faraday balance and vibrating sample magnetometry techniques. All alloys studied exhibit strong magnetic ordering with Curie temperatures close to 900 K. Room temperature Mössbauer measurements revealed distinguished magnetic environments in the samples. The decrease of coercivity with prolonged milling time was attributed to the reduction or averaging of local magnetic anisotropies. 相似文献

Co-Cu-Zn doped Fe3O4 nanoparticles can be successfully synthesized using a simple method. The particles in the size range 20−400 nm with different regular shapes i.e. sphere-like, regular hexane and tetrahedron are controllably achieved by changing the metal ion concentration. Compared to pure Fe3O4 without dopants, Co-Cu-Zn doped Fe3O4 nanoparticles exhibit better microwave absorbing properties at 2−18 GHz. Among three Co-Cu-Zn doped Fe3O4 nanoparticles with different morphologies, tetrahedral Co-Cu-Zn doped Fe3O4 nanoparticles represent a better dielectric loss in high frequency range. This work is believed the first known report of Co-Cu-Zn doped Fe3O4 nanoparticles with tunable morphology and magnetic properties through the hydrothermal process without using any organic solvents, organic metal salts or surfactants. 相似文献

We doped Ho3+ in CoFe1.95Ho0.05O4 spinel ferrite by mechanical alloying and subsequent annealing at different temperatures (600-1200 °C). We understood the structural and magnetic properties of the samples using X-ray diffraction, SEM, Thermal analysis (TGA and DTA), and VSM measurement. The samples have shown structural stabilization within cubic spinel phase for the annealing temperature (TAN)≥800 °C. Thermal activated grain growth kinetics has been accompanied with the substantial decrease in lattice strain. The gain size dependent magnetism is evident from the variation of magnetic moment, remanent magnetization and coercivity of the material. The paramagnetic to ferrimagnetic transition temperature TC (∼805 K) seems to be grain size independent in the present material. The magnetic nanograins, either single domain/pseudo-single domain (50-64 nm) or multi-domain (above 64 nm) regime, showed superparamagnetic blocking below Tm, which is below TC (805 K) and also well above the room temperature. 相似文献

Preparation and optical properties of Lu2O3/Eu3+ nanocrystals embedded in silica gel glass are described. The structure of the obtained ceramics was determined by XRD and transmission electron microscopy. It was found that with increasing sintering temperature the Lu2O3/Eu3+ nanocrystallites underwent transformation into monoclinic Lu2Si2O7 nanocrystallites. The fluorescence properties were investigated as a function of thermal treatment of the samples. It was found that after sintering at 1250 °C the fluorescence lifetime increased to 1.5 ms at room temperature. The material studied in this work exhibits a very high intensity of fluorescence with potentials for display application. 相似文献

Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were prepared by co-precipitation from FeSO4·7H2O and FeCl3·6H2O aqueous solutions using NaOH as precipitating reagent. The nanoparticles have an average size of 12 nm and exhibit superparamagnetism at room temperature. The nanoparticles were used to prepare a water-based magnetic fluid using oleic acid and Tween 80 as surfactants. The stability and magnetic properties of the magnetic fluid were characterized by Gouy magnetic balance. The experimental results imply that the hydrophilic block of Tween 80 can make the Fe3O4 nanoparticles suspending in water stable even after dilution and autoclaving. The magnetic fluid demonstrates excellent stability and fast magneto-temperature response, which can be used both in magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic fluid hyperthermia. 相似文献

A recent thermodynamic model of mixing in spinel binaries, based on changes in cation disordering (x) between tetrahedral and octahedral sites [Am. Mineral. 68 (1983) 18, 69 (1984) 733], is investigated for applicability to the Fe3O4-FeCr2O4 system under conditions where incomplete mixing occurs. Poor agreement with measured consolute solution temperature and solvus [N. Jb. Miner. Abh. 111 (1969) 184] is attributed to neglect of: (1) ordering of magnetic moments of cations in the tetrahedral sublattice antiparallel to the moments of those in the octahedral sublattice and (2) pair-wise electron hopping between octahedral site Fe3+ and Fe2+ ions. Disordering free energies (ΔGD), from which free energies of mixing are calculated, are modeled by

Fe3O4 nanoparticle/organic hybrids were synthesized via hydrolysis using iron (III) acetylacetonate at ∼80 °C. The synthesis of Fe3O4 was confirmed by X-ray diffraction, selected-area diffraction, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Fe3O4 nanoparticles in the organic matrix had diameters ranging from 7 to 13 nm depending on the conditions of hydrolysis. The saturation magnetization of the hybrid increased with an increase in the particle size. When the hybrid contained Fe3O4 particles with a size of less than 10 nm, it exhibited superparamagnetic behavior. The blocking temperature of the hybrid containing Fe3O4 particles with a size of 7.3 nm was 200 K, and it increased to 310 K as the particle size increased to 9.1 nm. A hybrid containing Fe3O4 particles of size greater than 10 nm was ferrimagnetic, and underwent Verwey transition at 130 K. Under a magnetic field, a suspension of the hybrid in silicone oil revealed the magnetorheological effect. The yield stress of the fluid was dependent on the saturation magnetization of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in the hybrid, the strength of the magnetic field, and the amount of the hybrid. 相似文献

The paper shows the application of a new method – Magnetic Nanoparticles Focusing 3D, MNF-3D – for focusing of magnetic nanoparticles at any point in a three-dimensional space between the rotating magnet system. The results of focusing process of nanoparticles in water, human blood, human serum and polyurethane sponge are presented. Additionally, blood flow was also considered. The effectiveness of nanoparticle focusing was monitored optically and quantitatively by electron spin resonance method. The method enabled focusing of magnetic nanoparticles within a few minutes in different environments. A good efficiency of focusing process was observed for all the samples. 相似文献

The Fe48Co48V4 alloy was synthesized in a planetary high-energy ball-mill under an argon atmosphere. The structure, microstructure and magnetic properties of the mechanically alloyed powders were investigated by X-ray diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy and a Vibration Sample Magnetometer, respectively. During the mechanical alloying of Fe48Co48V4, inter-metallic Co3V appears. The lattice parameter decreases up to 55 h of milling time with an oscillation and then increases from 55 to 125 h of milling time. The coercivity increases during the milling treatment from 49 to 58 Oe. The saturation magnetization has some fluctuations during the milling treatment and finally reaches ∼190 emu/g at 125 h. 相似文献

Ni0.53Cu0.12Zn0.35Fe2O4/SiO2 nanocomposites with different weight percentages of NiCuZn ferrite dispersed in silica matrix were prepared by microwave-hydrothermal method using tetraethylorthosilicate as a precursor of silica, and metal nitrates as precursors of NiCuZn ferrite. The structure and morphology of the composites were studied using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The structural changes in these samples were characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer in the range of 400-1500 cm−1. The bands in the range of 580-880 cm−1 show a slight increase in intensity, which could be ascribed to the enhanced interactions between the NiCuZnFe2O4 clusters and silica matrix. The effects of silica content and sintering temperature on the magnetic properties of Ni0.53Cu0.12Zn0.35Fe2O4/SiO2 nanocomposites have been studied using electron spin resonance and vibrating sample magnetometer. 相似文献
