The study of relaying systems has found renewed interest in the context of cooperative diversity for communication channels suffering from fading. In particular, dual-hop relaying with diversity combining of the relayed and direct path at the receiver has practical importance and can be considered as a building block for forming larger communication systems. This paper presents novel analytical expressions and numerical results on cooperative diversity performance using selection relaying over correlated lognormal channels for both SC and MRC techniques at the receiver. In addition, an exact framework for comparing the performance and efficiency of the medium access protocol and relay capabilities (TDMA/half-duplex, SDMA/full-duplex) is proposed. Finally, based on the analysis and novel mathematical expressions for the outage probability, we investigate the impact of the lognormal parameters (including correlation) on the cooperative system performance and its efficiency.  相似文献

Cooperative Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) with Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer (SWIPT) communication can not only effectively improve the spectrum efficiency and energy efficiency of wireless networks but also extend their coverage. An important design issue is to incentivize a full duplex (FD) relaying center user to participate in the cooperative process and achieve a win–win situation for both the base station (BS) and the center user. Some private information of the center users are hidden from the BS in the network. A contract theory-based incentive mechanism under this asymmetric information scenario is applied to incentivize the center user to join the cooperative communication to maximize the BS’s benefit utility and to guarantee the center user’s expected payoff. In this work, we propose a matching theory-based Gale–Shapley algorithm to obtain the optimal strategy with low computation complexity in the multi-user pairing scenario. Simulation results indicate that the network performance of the proposed FD cooperative NOMA and SWIPT communication is much better than the conventional NOMA communication, and the benefit utility of the BS with the stable match strategy is nearly close to the multi-user pairing scenario with complete channel state information (CSI), while the center users get the satisfied expected payoffs.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the energy efficiency (EE) performance of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) enabled full-duplex (FD) coordinated direct and relay transmission (CDRT) system (i.e., NOMA-FD-CDRT system). Firstly, we consider a two-user scenario, where the base station (BS) can directly communicate with the near user, while it requires the help of a dedicated FD relay node to communicate with the far user. In the second part, we consider that there are two near users and two far users in the system. To improve the EE, we consider integrating the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) technique at the FD relay. We formulate an analytical expression for the overall EE of the SWIPT-assisted NOMA-FD-CDRT system. We determine optimal power allocation (OPA) for the downlink users at the BS that maximizes the EE. An iterative algorithm based on Dinkelbach method is proposed to determine the OPA vector. With the help of detailed numerical and simulation investigations, it is demonstrated that the proposed OPA can provide significant enhancement of EE of the considered SWIPT-assisted NOMA-FD-CDRT system.  相似文献

In this paper, a millimeter-wave (mmWave) full-duplex (FD) cloud radio access network (C-RAN) for 5G and beyond systems is studied, where the central unit is equipped with multiple antennas, and the spatially distributed remote radio heads (RRHs) operate in FD mode. In particular, we analyze a relay selection method based on end-to-end signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) in the proposed system. Distinguishing features of mmWave communications such as Rician small scale fading, path loss, blockage and directivity are taken into account in both fronthaul (FH) and access links. In order to have a comparison basis, the performance of the RRH selection method is also investigated in half-duplex (HD) mmWave C-RAN. Initially, the expression of the end-to-end SINR in the proposed system is derived, and then the cumulative density function (CDF) of the end-to-end SINR is derived in both FD and HD RRHs. Subsequently, we derive performance expressions such as outage probability, average rate and energy efficiency for the RRH selection method in the proposed system in both HD and FD mmWave C-RAN. Finally, the effectiveness of the RRH selection method and the accuracy of the obtained results are verified via Monte Carlo simulation results, which show that the RRH selection method in the mmWave FD C-RAN improves the performance significantly.  相似文献

This work investigates the physical layer secrecy performance of a hybrid satellite/unmanned aerial vehicle (HS-UAV) terrestrial non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network, where one satellite source intends to make communication with destination users via a UAV relay using NOMA protocol in the existence of spatially random eavesdroppers. All the destination users randomly distributed on the ground comply with a homogeneous Poisson point process in the basis of stochastic geometry. Adopting Shadowed-Rician fading in satellite-to-UAV and satellite-to-eavesdroppers links while Rayleigh fading in both UAV-to-users and UAV-to-eavesdroppers links, the theoretical expressions for the secrecy outage probability (SOP) of the paired NOMA users are obtained based on the distance-determined path-loss. Also, the asymptotic behaviors of SOP expressions at high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime are analyzed and the system throughputs of the paired NOMA users are examined for gaining further realization of the network. Moreover, numerical results are contrasted with simulation to validate the theoretical analysis. Investigation of this work shows the comparison of SOP performance for the far and near user, pointing out the SOP performance of the network depends on the channel fading, UAV coverage airspace, distribution of eavesdroppers and some other key parameters.  相似文献

Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication aims to achieve significantly improved safety and traffic efficiency, more particularly at road intersection where high percentage of accidents usually occur. The existing vehicular radio frequency (V-RF) based V2X utilizes relaying for improving safety message dissemination at road intersections. For a high traffic density scenario, the V-RF communication with relaying solution may suffer from large latency and low packet delivery rates due to channel congestion. In this paper, we explore cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) communication assisted hybrid vehicular visible light communication (V-VLC) and V-RF communication for improving safety message dissemination and enabling massive connectivity among vehicles for road intersection scenarios. We develop a stochastic geometry based analytical framework to model cooperative NOMA (C-NOMA) transmissions subject to interference imposed by other vehicles on roads. We also examine the impact of vehicles headlights radiation pattern viz. Lambertian and empirical path loss models on statistical characterization of the proposed C-NOMA supported hybrid solution. Our numerical findings reveal that C-NOMA assisted hybrid V-VLC/V-RF system leads to considerable improvement in outage performance and average achievable rate as compared to traditional V-RF solution with relaying. Interestingly, Lambertian model offers a lower outage and higher average achievable rate compared to the empirical model for the proposed hybrid solution. Further, we observe the performance improvement using maximal ratio combining (MRC) considering NOMA transmission for the proposed hybrid solution. The presented framework may serve as an alternative for cooperative intelligent transportation system (C-ITS) to meet diverse application needs for beyond 5G (B5G) V2X networks.  相似文献

This paper evaluates the performance of a virtual user pairing scheme that efficiently utilizes the spectrum of unpaired users in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), termed as VP-NOMA. The scheme aims at utilizing the frequency bands of those users which remain unpaired due to the non-uniform distribution of users in a cellular area. We consider a case where the cell edge users are more than the cell center users, so that complete one-to-one correspondence does not exist between all cell center and cell edge users to be accommodated/paired using conventional NOMA (C-NOMA) user pairing. Thus, some cell edge users remain unpaired, and are served using conventional multiple access (OMA) schemes. In such scenario, VP-NOMA pairs a single cell center user with two or more clustered (closely located) cell edge users over non-overlapping frequency bands, thus enabling the cell center user to efficiently use the frequency bands of these previously unpaired cell edge users. Performance of VP-NOMA in terms of ergodic sum capacity (ESC), outage probability (OP), and outage sum capacity (OSC), is analyzed through comprehensive mathematical derivations and simulations for a generalized system model. Moreover, the mathematical analysis is validated through close concordance between analytical and simulation results of ESC, OP, and OSC.  相似文献

The objective of this paper is to propose techniques for enhancing the physical layer security (PLS) performance of half-duplex cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (HD-CNOMA) network in the presence of an external passive eavesdropper. We propose an artificial noise (AN)-aided framework and derive approximate analytical expressions for the secrecy outage probabilities (SOPs) of the downlink users. It is demonstrated that the proposed AN-aided framework significantly reduces the SOPs of the users and completely resolves the zero-diversity order problem, which is prevalent in HD-CNOMA network without AN. To further enhance the PLS performance, we determine optimal power allocation coefficients (OPACs) for the downlink users at the base station (BS) that minimizes the system SOP (SSOP) of the AN-aided HD-CNOMA network. With the help of extensive numerical and simulation investigations, it is shown that the proposed OPAC leads to significant reduction of the SSOP, while lowering the SOPs of the users, compared to random/equal setting of the PACs.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the cooperative communication of a cognitive underlay network by utilizing the diversity of multiple spectrum bands. In particular, we assume that the transmission power of the secondary user (SU) is subject to different joint constraints, such as peak interference power of the multiple primary users (PUs), peak transmission power of the SU, outage tolerate interference, and outage probability threshold. Accordingly, two power allocation schemes are considered on the basis of the minimum interference channel from the SU to the PU and the channel state information of the primary user link. Furthermore, the SU can select one of the three transmission modes following the channel state conditions, namely as cellular, device-to-device, or switching mode, to transmit the signal to the secondary user receiver. Given this setting, two power allocation schemes over a spectrum band selection strategy are derived. In addition, closed-form expressions for the outage probability of three modes are also obtained to evaluate the performance of the secondary network. Most importantly, a closed-form expression for the peak interference power level of the PU, which is considered as one of the most important parameters to control the SU’s transmission power, is derived by investigating the relation of two considered power allocation schemes in the practise. Finally, numerical examples show that the outage performance of secondary network in the switching mode outperforms the one of the cellular and device-to-device (D2D) mode for all considered power allocation schemes.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a multiple users cooperative overlay cognitive radio non-orthogonal multiple access (CR-NOMA) network in the presence of imperfect successive interference cancellation (SIC) and imperfect channel state information (CSI). In the context of cellular network, cell-center cognitive secondary users act as relays to assist transmission from the primary user (PU) transmitter to the cell-edge PU receiver via NOMA. According to the received signals between the primary transmitter and multiple cognitive secondary center users, the best cell-center cognitive SU with the maximum signal to noise ratio (SNR) is selected to transmit the PU’s signals and its own signal to cell-edge users through NOMA principle. Then, the PU cell-edge user combine the signals received from direct transmission in the first phase and relay transmission from the best cell-center cognitive SU in the second phase by selection combining (SC). To measure the performance of the system quantitatively, we derive the end-to-end outage probability and capacity for the primary and secondary networks by taking the imperfect SIC and CSI into consideration. Finally, the performance analysis is validated by the simulations, and show that serious interference caused by imperfect SIC and (or) imperfect CSI reduce the system performance.  相似文献

In this paper, we mainly investigate the outage performance of serial and parallel relay-assisted underwater wireless optical communication (UWOC) systems based on a newly proposed aggregated underwater fading model. In order to overcome the deficiency of the traditional underwater weak turbulence models, that is, they could not accurately fit the measured data in the laboratory, the generalized gamma distribution (GGD) which has been verified by a series of experiments is chosen for the first time to characterize the weak oceanic turbulence. Then, we establish a new receiving signal model which has integrated the implicit path loss plus multipath propagation effect shown by fading free impulse response (FFIR), GGD weak oceanic turbulence, and nonzero boresight pointing errors. Next, we deduce the closed-form expression of the probability density function (PDF) of the hybrid fading considering GGD weak turbulence and nonzero boresight errors based on the new receiving signal model above through double-exponential Taylor expansion and higher transcendental Whittaker function. Finally, the analytical expressions of the outage probabilities for point-to-point (P2P) link, serial and parallel relay-assisted UWOC systems are further derived respectively under the proposed aggregated channel. Numerical simulations are also provided to validate the accuracy of the theoretical formulae derived above, and to show the effects of the key system parameters on the outage performance of relaying UWOC systems.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a spectrum-sharing protocol for a cooperative cognitive radio network based on non-orthogonal multiple access technology, where the base station (BS) transmits the superimposed signal to the primary user and secondary user with/without the assistance of a relay station (RS) by adopting the decode-and-forward technique. RS performs discrete-time energy harvesting for opportunistically cooperative transmission. If the RS harvests sufficient energy, the system performs cooperative transmission; otherwise, the system performs direct transmission. Moreover, the outage probabilities and outage capacities of both primary and secondary systems are analyzed, and the corresponding closed-form expressions are derived. In addition, one optimization problem is formulated, where our objective is to maximize the energy efficiency of the secondary system while ensuring that of the primary system exceeds or equals a threshold value. A joint optimization algorithm of power allocation at BS and RS is considered to solve the optimization problem and to realize a mutual improvement in the performance of energy efficiency for both the primary and secondary systems. The simulation results demonstrate the validity of the analysis results and prove that the proposed transmission scheme has a higher energy efficiency than the direct transmission scheme and the transmission scheme with simultaneous wireless information and power transfer technology.  相似文献

In this paper, the performance of cognitive radio (CR) code division multiple access (CDMA) networks is analyzed in the presence of receive beamforming at the base stations (BSs). More precisely, we analyze, through simulations, the performance achievable by a CR user, with and without spectrum sensing, in a three-cell scenario. Uplink communications are considered. Three different schemes for spectrum sensing with beamforming are presented, together with a scheme without spectrum sensing. CR users belong to a cognitive radio network (CRN) which is coexisting with a primary radio network (PRN). Both the CRN and the PRN are CDMA based. The CRN is assumed to utilize beamforming for its CR users. Soft hand-off (HO) and power control are considered in both the CRN and the PRN. The impact of beamforming on the system performance is analyzed, considering various metrics. In particular, we evaluate the performance of the proposed systems in terms of outage probability, blocking probability, and average data rate of CR users. The results obtained clearly indicate that significant performance improvements can be obtained by CR users with the help of beamforming. The impact of several system parameters on the performance of the three considered spectrum sensing schemes with beamforming is analyzed. Our results, in terms of probability of outage, show that the relative improvement brought by the use of beamforming is higher in the absence of spectrum sensing (reduction of 80%) than in the presence of spectrum sensing (reduction of 42%).  相似文献

Improving spectral efficiency under a certain energy limitation is an important design metric for future wireless communications as a response to the growing transmission demand of wireless devices. In order to improve spectral efficiency for communication systems without increasing energy consumption, this paper considers a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA)–based cognitive radio network, with the assistance of a wireless-powered relay station (RS), and then analyzes the system outage performance under amplified-and-forward (AF) and decoded-and-forward (DF) cooperative transmission modes. Specifically, the base station (BS) has the opportunity to cooperate by transmitting information through the RS, depending on whether the RS can harvest sufficient RF energy for cooperative transmission. That is to say, when the energy stored by the RS is sufficient for cooperative transmission, the RS will assist the BS to forward information; otherwise, the BS will send information through direct links, while the RS converts the radio frequency (RF) signals sent by the BS into energy for future transmission. Moreover, the transmission power required by the RS for cooperative transmission is usually relatively large, while the amount of harvested energy by the RS in a transmission slot is usually low, so it takes several consecutive time slots to accumulate enough transmission energy. To this end, we utilize a discrete-time Markov chain to describe the processes of charging and discharging of the RS. Subsequently, we derive the closed-form outage probabilities of both the primary and secondary systems for the considered system in AF and DF modes through mathematical analysis, and verify the accuracy of the analyses through Monte Carlo simulation. The simulation results show that the two proposed cooperative transmission schemes with AF and DF relaying techniques outperform both direct transmission and other similar schemes in both the primary and secondary system, while the DF scheme can provide better performance than the AF scheme within the range of setting values.  相似文献

This paper investigates the performance of hybrid radio frequency/millimeter wave (RF/mmWave) satellite–terrestrial relay network with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme. In particular, the satellite network operates at the Ka-band while the mmWave band is adopted at decode-and-forward (DF) relay–destination link. The blockage effect in mmWave communication is considered to deduce the ordered probability density function (PDF) of the user equipment (UE) distance. However, the randomness of the UEs’ location and the random beamforming design cause the difficulty of the performance analysis. Herein, we provide a closed-form approximation for the outage probability. Moreover, the system diversity order is derived from the asymptotic expressions of the outage probability at high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) slopes. Besides, approximate ergodic capacity performances of the multi-UEs are evaluated with numerical integration. Simulations are applied to demonstrate the accuracy of the theoretical analysis and show that the performance of the ordered selection NOMA scheme outperforms the orthogonal multiple access scheme and random selection scheme.  相似文献

This paper proposes a deployment and trajectory scheme for fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) deployed as flying base stations in multi-UAV enabled non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) downlink communication. Specifically, the deployment of UAVs and power allocation of users are jointly optimized to maximize the sum-rate. Thereafter, the energy efficiency maximization problem is formulated to optimize the trajectory of UAVs by jointly considering the quality of service (QoS) requirement of users, various flight constraints, limited on-board energy, and users’ mobility. Initially, the existing users are divided into clusters by k-means clustering, where each cluster is served by a single UAV. Then, the clusters are further divided into multiple sub-clusters, each having a pair of near and far users. Orthogonal multiple access (OMA) is applied among sub-clusters and NOMA is applied to intra sub-cluster users. Lastly, the Balanced-grey wolf optimization (B-GWO) algorithm is proposed for solving the non-convex optimization problems. Simulation results prove the superiority of the B-GWO based deployment and trajectory algorithms compared to the benchmarks. In addition, the proposed B-GWO based trajectory algorithm achieves a near-optimal performance with an optimality gap of less than 1.5% compared to the exhaustive search.  相似文献

This work presents a full-duplex and multifunction bidirectional transceiver for optical interconnect application. The transceiver utilizes a common limiting amplifier/gain stage, thus reducing total chip area and total power consumption. While providing a full-duplex bidirectional transmission with the aid of a hybrid circuit between the electrical input/output (I/O) and the optoelectronic signals from the transmitter and receiver circuits, it also allows for a half-duplex operation with the aid of a switch between the transimpedance amplifier signals and the transmitter electrical input from the I/O port. The multifunction bidirectional CMOS transceiver is designed in a 0.13 µm Si-CMOS technology, with power dissipation of 79 and 54.4 mW for the transmitter and receiver, respectively. It shows a 3-dB bandwidth of 5.58 and 5.69 GHz for the transmitter and the receiver respectively and with a 3-dB gain of 66.14 and 69.6 dB, in full-duplex mode. The transceiver operates up to 7 Gb/s in full-duplex mode.  相似文献

In a multicarrier NOMA system, the subchannel allocation (SA) and power allocation (PA) are intricately linked and essential for improving system throughput. Also, for the successful execution of successive interference cancellations (SIC) at the receiver, a minimum power gap is required among users. As a result, this research comes up with optimization of the SA and PA to maximize the sum rate of the NOMA system while sticking to the minimum power gap constraint in addition to minimum user rate, maximum number of users in a subchannel and power budget constraints for downlink transmission in multicarrier NOMA networks. To ensure that the formulated problem can be solved in polynomial time, we propose solving it in two stages; SA followed by PA. To obtain SA, we investigate four algorithms: Greedy, WSA, WCA, and WCF. For PA, we propose a low-complexity algorithm. We compare the performance of the proposed method with benchmark method that does not consider the minimum power gap constraint. We conclude that employing WCF algorithm with the PA algorithm gives the best sum rate performance.  相似文献

Deployment of heterogeneous wireless networks is spreading throughout the world as users want to be connected anytime, anywhere, and anyhow. Meanwhile, users are increasingly interested in multimedia applications such as audio, video streaming and Voice over IP (VoIP), which require strict Quality of Service (QoS) support. Provisioning of Always Best Connected (ABC) network with such constraints is a challenging task. Considering the availability of various access technologies, it is difficult for a network operator to find reliable criteria to select the best network that ensures user satisfaction while reducing multiple network selection. Designing an efficient Network selection algorithm, in this type of environment, is an important research problem. In this paper, we propose a novel network selection algorithm utilizing signal strength, available bit rate, signal to noise ratio, achievable throughput, bit error rate and outage probability metrics as criteria for network selection. The selection metrics are combined with PSO for relative dynamic weight optimization. The proposed algorithm is implemented in a typical heterogeneous environment of EDGE (2.5G) and UMTS (3G). Switching rate of the user between available networks has been used as the performance metric. Moreover, a utility function is used to maintain desired QoS during transition between networks, which is measured in terms of the throughput. It is shown here that PSO based approach yields optimal network selection in heterogeneous wireless environment.  相似文献
