We consider the mechanism of fluctuations of the vertical component of near-ground electric field of the atmosphere. We propose the mechanism of appearance of VHF electromagnetic radiation in the atmosphere resulting from rotationally-rotary transitions of dipole quasi-molecules consisting of large hydrated cluster ions. The temperature profile in Fig. 3 of Ref. 1 is better approximated by a relation for a turbulent boundary layer than a laminar boundary layer. The critical Reynolds number is expected to be lowered in the flow train of MHD combustion gas because of large turbulence in the combustor and by roughness along the duct.  相似文献

The effects of boundary layer bleed on the scramjet thrust are studied in the present paper.A theoretical model is developed to evaluate the thrust increment and influencing factors.The thrust increment resulting from the bleed is dominated by the rise in total pressure recovery and bleed mass flow rate.The bleed mass flow rate exerts stronger impact on the engine thrust than the total pressure.According to current bleed design,it is a severe challenge for the engine to enhance its total pressure to maintain the original thrust when there is no bleeding.Furthermore,the initial total pressure recovery,fuel mass addition,combustion efficiency and area ratio of engine exit to entrance can affect the contributions of the bleeding to the thrust increment.The scramjet needs a higher rise in total pressure recovery to counteract the negative effect of bleed mass loss at higher initial total pressure recovery or larger area ratio of engine exit/entrance.More heat release results in a little lower demand on the rise in total pressure recovery for maintaining the scramjet thrust.These results will aid in understanding the fundamental mechanism of bleeding on engine thrust.  相似文献

The Fokker-Planck equation for the distribution of position and velocity of a Brownian particle is a particularly simple linear transport equation. Its normal solutions and an apparently complete set of stationary boundary layer solutions can be determined explicitly. By a numerical algorithm we select linear combinations of them that approximately fulfill the boundary condition for a completely absorbing plane wall, and that approach a linearly increasing position space density far from the wall. Various aspects of these approximate solutions are discussed. In particular we find that the extrapolated asymptotic density reaches zero at a distance xM beyond the wall. We find xM=1.46 in units of the velocity persistence length of the Brownian particle. This study was motivated by certain problems in the theory of diffusion-controlled reactions, and the results might be used to test approximate theories employed in that field.  相似文献

InGaN/GaN p-i-n solar cells, each with an undoped In0.12Ga0.88N absorption layer, are grown on c-plane sapphire substrates by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition. The effects of the thickness and dislocation density of the absorp- tion layer on the collection efficiency of InGaN-based solar cells are analyzed, and the experimental results demonstrate that the thickness of the InGaN layer and the dislocation density significantly affect the performance. An optimized InGaN- based solar cell with a peak external quantum efficiency of 57% at a wavelength of 371 nm is reported. The full width at half maximum of the rocking curve of the (0002) InGaN layer is 180 arcsec.  相似文献

Expressions are derived for the acoustical impedance of a rectangular enclosure and of a finite annular cylindrical enclosure. The derivation is valid throughout the frequency range in which all dimensions of the enclosure are much less than the wavelength. The results are valid throughout the range from adiabatic to isothermal conditions in the enclosure. The effect is equivalent to placing an additional, frequency-dependent complex impedance in parallel with the adiabatic compliance. As the thermal boundary layer grows to fill the cavity, the reactive part of the impedance varies smoothly from the adiabatic value to the isothermal value. In some microphones, this change in cavity stiffness is sufficient to modify the sensitivity. The resistive part of the additional cavity impedance varies as the inverse square root of frequency at high frequencies where the boundary layer has not grown to fill the enclosure. The thermal modification gives rise to a thermal noise whose spectral density varies asymptotically as l/f(3/2) above the isothermal transition frequency.  相似文献

Physical models of two-layered and three-layered fiber were built. These models were used to calculate acoustic properties of optical fibers. Acoustic properties of fibers with boundary layer and without boundary layer calculated from these model were compared. The propagation of acoustic cylindrical symmetric waves in optical fibers was considered. This problem was treated analytically and numerically in continual approximation. The possibility of simultaneous propagation of two cylindrical symmetric waves in optical fibers with a boundary layer was shown (in a three-layered model). The physical phenomenon of the presence of two waves in the fiber with boundary layer is proposed for study of the boundary layer. Formulas for the calculation of the properties of the boundary layer from the acoustic experiment, verified by numerical calculations, are represented.  相似文献

The boundary layer of a finite domain [a, b] covers mesoscopic lateral neighborhoods, inside [a, b], of the endpoints a and b. Particle image velocimetry technique has been used to investigate the evolution of synthesised vortical structures in the turbulent boundary layer. Synthetic jet actuator is implemented on the flat plate surface to synthesise various vortical structures by operating the actuator at varying operating parameters. The vortices are issued into the boundary layer and their evolution and subsequent interaction with the relatively less energetic near wall fluid is studied. The investigation is based on the quantitative measurements that are made both on the central and parallel lateral planes. Finally, the enhancement of the wall shear stress resulted in by the passing vortices is measured to evaluate the effectiveness of the actuator towards flow separation control.  相似文献

Results of experimental investigations of the nonlinear stage of sinusoidal and varicose instability of a streaky structure, which leads to multiplication of streaky structures and origination of coherent structures (such as Λ-structures), are presented. Riblets suppress the intensity of streaky structures, stabilize the flow against the development of the secondary high-frequency instability of streaky structures, and, for this reason, delay spatial turbulization of the flow. The results of these investigations can be useful for understanding the flow structure in such situations and for possible controlling of the coherent structures aimed at flow stabilization. Variations of the millimeter waves amplitude and angle-of-arrival caused by an influence of the atmospheric surface layer turbulence and striation were investigated on the 14-km propagation path, where radiotelescope RT-7.5 was used as a receiver antenna operating at the frequency of 90 GHz. In experiments, performed during two-year cycle, a set of statistical characteristics of the vertical and horizontal angle-of-arrival components were studied. Particularly, temporal spectra at the bandwidth 10–5–101 Hz were obtained and an essential anisotropy of turbulence was found.  相似文献

A method of describing oscillations in resonators on the basis of evolution equations is proposed. The latter are obtained by simplifying the functional equations under the assumption that the distortions of travelling waves within the resonator length are small, that the Mach number for the moving boundary oscillations is small, and that the frequency is close to one of the natural frequencies of the resonator. The problems of nonstationary oscillations of a layer with a moving boundary are solved. The law that should govern the wall oscillations to provide the development of steady-state linear resonance oscillations is determined. The shape of the resonance curve formed in the presence of a boundary nonlinearity is calculated. The method of matching of asymptotics is applied to the singularly perturbed problem with small dissipation. It is shown that a boundary nonlinearity leads to a distortion of the temporal profile of the standing wave and to the generation of higher harmonics in the process of the development of steady-state oscillations. In contrast to the classical linear problems where the resonance occurs at the coincidence of the external force frequency with one of the natural frequencies, in the case under study the resonance behavior is observed in frequency bands, which are wider the higher the amplitude of the boundary oscillations is.  相似文献

Measurements of the near-surface turbulence in the atmospheric boundary layer have been made using hot-wire probes above the salt flats of northwestern Utah, where the momentum thickness Reynolds number, Rθ, is O(106), and the surface is smooth and nearly devoid of flow obstructions. The measurements were made with arrays of up to 24 parallel straight sensors and with a modular 12-sensor probe capable of measuring all of the components of the instantaneous velocity vector and velocity gradient tensor. Measurements were also made in a laboratory wind tunnel at Rθ=1730 using 22 straight sensors. The data analysis focuses on the effects of the Reynolds number on turbulence properties and on the physics of the dissipation rate of turbulent kinetic energy.Some properties are found to be dependent on the Reynolds number when normalized with inner variables, while others are not. Among those that show the significant Reynolds number dependence are the rms and the skewness factor of the streamwise velocity fluctuations.Significant differences in flow structure, particularly those related to high rates of dissipation, are implied by the data. The joint PDF and covariance integrand of streamwise and wall normal vorticity fluctuations show less preferred orientation of the vorticity vector in the buffer layer at Rθ of O(106) than at Rθ=1070. The largest contribution to the dissipation rate, at O(106) is by the w/z velocity gradient, while this term makes a quite small contribution to the dissipation rate at low Rθ. Here w and z are the spanwise velocity fluctuations and direction, respectively. Conditional analysis in the streamwise-wall normal (xy) plane based on high instantaneous dissipation rate shows that the typical high dissipation rate events are generally similar at high and low Reynolds numbers, but display some significant differences.  相似文献

An explicit algebraic model of Reynolds stresses and the turbulent heat flux vector for the planetary boundary layer in a neutrally stratified boundary layer of the atmosphere above a homogeneous rough surface is tested. The version of the algebraic model under consideration is constructed on the physical principles of the RANS (Reynolds-averaged Navier?Stokes) approximation for describing stratified turbulence, it employs three forecasting equations, and a correct reproduction of the main characteristics of a neutral atmospheric boundary layer — the components of the mean wind velocity, the wind turn angle, and the turbulent statistics is shown. Test computations show that the proposed model may be used for goal-oriented investigations of the atmospheric boundary layer.  相似文献

A study is reported for the boundary layer of lubricant arising under conditions of selective transport; it is considered that electrochemical processes dominate this transport, and a study has been made of the emf generated, the rectified voltage, and the resistance of the boundary layer as functions of the nominal load. The frictional force was also measured. It is found that the selective transfer occurs in the steady state through a boundary layer of lubricant that interacts chemically with the surfaces. The resulting boundary layers have rectified properties, while the system St. 40Kh-glycerol-Br. OTsS generates an emf as a galvanic cell.
