We demonstrate a Fe:ZnSe laser gain-switched by a 2.9 m ZnGeP_2 optical parametric oscillator under pulse repetition frequency of 1 kHz at liquid nitrogen temperature of 77 K. The maximum output power is 63 m W with pulse duration of 34.4 ns. The wavelength covers 3686.6–4088.6 nm and centers at 3897.7 nm. The output power decreases with increasing the temperature of the crystal in 77–222 K.  相似文献

We have demonstrated that we believe to be the first ring ZnGeP2 (ZGP) optical parametric oscillator (OPO) pumped by a pulsed Ho:LuAG laser. The maximum output power of the ring ZGP OPO laser was 5.51 W at 13.1 W incident Ho pump power, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 59.0 %. The ZGP OPO laser produced 14 ns mid-infrared pulses in the 3.72–4.01 and 4.37–4.75 μm spectral regions simultaneously. In addition, the continuous wave Ho:LuAG laser generated 26.5 W of linearly output at 2,094.4 nm at the absorbed Tm pump power of 49.9 W.  相似文献

We report on what is to our knowledge the first optical parametric oscillator (OPO) pumped by microsecond pulses from a wavelength-tunable solid-state laser. The singly resonant OPO (SRO) is based on a periodically poled LiNbO3 crystal and pumped with 2.1-micros-long pulses from an actively Q-switched Yb fiber laser. At an average fiber laser power of 3.6 W, the SRO generates 1.9-micros-long pulses with a repetition rate of 25 kHz and an average power of 560 mW at 3360 nm. The SRO was tuned from 1518 to 1634 nm (signal) and from 3145 to 3689 nm (idler) via the crystal temperature and poling period. By all-electronic tuning of the fiber laser wavelength over 19 nm, tuning of the mid-infrared idler wavelength over 195 nm was achieved.  相似文献

We report on rapid, all-electronically controlled wavelength tuning of a continuous-wave (cw) optical parametric oscillator (OPO) pumped by an ytterbium fiber laser. The OPO is singly resonant for the signal wave and consists of a 40-mm-long periodically poled lithium niobate crystal in a four-mirror ring cavity. By tuning of the fiber-laser wavelength over 33 nm through an intracavity acousto-optic tunable filter, the OPO idler wavelength is tuned from 3160 to 3500 nm in 330 micros, corresponding to an idler frequency-tuning speed of 28 THz/ms. At a fiber-laser power of 6.6 W at 1074 nm, the singly resonant OPO generates 1.13-W cw idler radiation at 3200 nm.  相似文献

We report on what is believed to be the first singly resonant cw optical parametric oscillator (SRO) that is directly pumped by a diode laser. The SRO consists of a 38-mm-long periodically poled LiNbO(3) crystal in a four-mirror signal-resonant ring cavity. Pumped by 2.5 W of 925-nm diode-laser radiation, the SRO generates 480 mW of single-frequency idler radiation at 2.1mum . The wavelengths of the signal and the idler output are tuned in the ranges of 1.55 to 1.70mum and 2.03 to 2.29mum, respectively, by tuning the wavelength of the diode laser from 924.0 to 925.4 nm.  相似文献

A femtosecond all-fiber laser source incorporating a cw mode-locked Yb-doped silica fiber oscillator and amplifier has been used to synchronously pump an optical parametric oscillator based on periodically poled lithium niobate. The signal output, consisting of 330-fs pulses at a 54-MHz repetition rate and average powers up to 90 mW, was tuned from 1.55 to 1.95microm , with a corresponding idler range of 2.30-3.31microm .  相似文献

The performance characteristics of a doubly (signal and idler) resonant continuous-wave optical parametric oscillator based on periodically poled lithium niobate and pumped by a 100-mW single-mode laser diode at 810 nm are reported. Pump power thresholds as low as 16 mW and wavelength tuning over the range 1.15-1.25 microm at the signal and 2.31-2.66 microm at the idler were achieved through variation of crystal temperature, pump wavelength, and grating period. Up to 5 mW of signal output was obtained with the single-mode diode pump, and signal powers of up to 39 mW were obtained when pumping with a 400-mW injection-locked broad-area diode laser.  相似文献

We report on a passively Q-switched end pumped Nd:YLF laser including a noncritically phase-matched KTP singly resonant intracavity optical parametric oscillator (IOPO-KTP). For the Q-switching operation we have used Cr:YAG saturable absorber. The optimized passively Q-switched Nd:YLF laser without IOPO generated linearly polarized pulses of 11.5 ns and 1.07 mJ at 1047 nm. The conversion efficiency of the optimized Q-switched pulse energy at 1047 nm to 1547 nm of a signal approached about 47%. For optimizing both Nd:YLF laser and IOPO we have numerically solved a theoretical model. We have achieved 1.6-ns duration pulses at 1547 nm with energy of 0.5 mJ and peak power of above 300 kW. The beam quality was excellent (M2 ≈1).  相似文献

In this paper a high-repetition-rate mid-infrared (mid-IR) optical parametric oscillator based on periodically poled MgO-doped LiNbO3 (PPMgLN) at room temperature was demonstrated. The maximum average mid-IR output power at 3.63μm was 1.02 W with the repetition rate of 60kHz and corresponding efficiency from the pump to the idler was 26.7%. The temperature tuning and the period tuning characteristics were also discussed.  相似文献

We present a cascaded continuous-wave singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) delivering idler output in mid-IR and terahertz frequency range. The SRO was pumped by an ytterbium-doped fiber laser with 27 W linear polarization pump powers, and based on periodically poled MgO:LiNbO3 crystal (PPMgLN) in two-mirror linear cavity. The PPMgLN is 50 mm long with 29.5 μm period. The idler power output at 3811 nm was obtained 2.6 W. The additional spectral components that have been attributed to cascaded optical parametric processes are described at increasing pump levels. Besides the initial signal component at about 1476.8 nm, further generated wavelengths with frequency shifts about 47 cm?1, 94 cm?1 and 104 cm?1 were observed. It was speculated that the idler waves lie in the terahertz (THz) domain from the observed results.  相似文献

Conversion of Q -switched 1.064-microm Nd:YAG laser pulses to the 2-2.2-mu; m region with 46% efficiency is demonstrated with a KTP-based type 2 phase-matched optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with two pairs of walk-off compensating crystals in a ring resonator. With 10 mJ of pump energy, we obtain 2.5 mJ at the 2.06-microm signal and 2.1 mJ at the 2.2-microm idler, with a beam quality of M(2) approximately 1.4 . With a ZnGeP(2) -based OPO pumped by the signal from the KTP OPO we achieved 14% conversion efficiency from 1.064microm to the 3-5-microm range.  相似文献

We report a singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (SRO) based on a ZnGeP(2) crystal directly pumped by a lamp-pumped Q-switched CrTmHo:YAG laser. The IR was tunable from 4.7 to 7.8 microm via crystal angle tuning. A maximum optical to optical efficiency of 56% was obtained from the pump (2.09 microm) to total IR at a pump energy of 6.5 mJ. The corresponding idler energy was 1.45 mJ. The SRO was measured to have a slope efficiency of 64% and a threshold of 1 mJ. The spatial beam quality of the idler, characterized by the M(2) parameter, was 1.38 when the SRO was pumped at 2.5 times threshold. These results show that ZnGeP(2) optical parametric oscillators directly pumped by a CrTmHo:YAG laser can be operated efficiently, while maintaining good IR beam quality.  相似文献

A non-critically phase-matched KTiOPO4 optical parametric oscillator (OPO) intracavity pumped by a laser diode end-pumped acousto-optically Q-switchedNd:YAG laser is experimentally demonstrated. The highest average power is obtained at the pulse repetition rate (PRR) of around 15 kHz, which is different from the widely reported Nd:YVO4 laser pumped OPO in which the highest average power is obtained at a very high PRR, e.g. 80 kHz. With an incident laser diode power of 6.93 W and a pulse repetition rate of 15 kHz, an average signal power of 0.72 W is obtained with a peak power of 7.7 kW and an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 10.4%. A doubly resonant ZnGeP2 (ZGP) optical parametric oscillator (OPO) pumped by a novel Tm,Ho:GdVO4 laser was demonstrated. Cryogenic Tin(5 at.-%), Ho(0.5 at.-%):GdVO4 laser with high pulse repetition frequency (PRF) of 10 kHz at 2.05 μm was employed as pumping source of ZGP OPO. The 15-mm-long ZGP crystal, 55° cut for I-type phase-matching with low absorption coefficient less than 0.05 cm^-1 at 2 μm, was placed in a piano-piano cavity with resonator length of 30 mm. The ZGP OPO generated a total combined output power of 1.2 W at 3.75 and 4.52 μm under pumping power of 5.3 W, corresponding to slope efficiency of 40% from incident 2μm laser power to midinfrared (Mid-IR) output. A widely tunable range from 3.0 to 6.5 μm was achieved by changing the crystal angle only 3.5°.  相似文献

We report on the development of a pulsed diode end-pumped Nd:YAG laser mode-locked by a nonlinear mirror and stabilized by an acousto-optical modulator. With the introduction of appropriate intracavity loss, the laser is able to generate 22.8 ps pulses with the energy of 4.5 μJ. After amplification and frequency doubling stages, the second harmonic radiation is used to non-collinearly synchronously pump a β-barium borate optical parametric oscillator in a walk-off compensated scheme. The system demonstrates a wide-tuning range from 635 nm to 2.55 μm for the signal output, with maximum average conversion efficiency as high as 42%.  相似文献

We derive the threshold pump intensity for a singly resonant intracavity optical parametric oscillator (IOPO)based on a temporal coupled field model.Particular attention is Paid to the dependence of the intracavity singly resonant OPO(SRO)threshold intensity on the signal wave output coupling.Meanwhile,a Nd:YAG laser pumped KTiOPO4(KTP)IOPO for eye-safe laser output is studied experimentally. The experiment is performed with four signal wave output reflectivities of 60%,70%,80%,and 90%,respectively.The measured values are in good agreement with the theoretical results. With an output coupler reflectivity of 80%,a peak power of 70 kW at 1572 nm has been obtained at a repetition rate of 3.5 kHz.The pulse width is 4.9 ns.Such investigation is helpful to identifying suitable operational regime of low pump intensity.  相似文献

We experimentally demonstrate a femtosecond optical parametric oscillator(OPO) synchronously pumped by a home-made solid-state mode-locking Yb:YCOB laser, which is capable of laser pulse as short as 102 fs and average power of 620 m W at the central wavelength of 1052 nm. By using a periodically poled lithium niobate with tuning of the grating periods from 28.5 to 31.5 μm as the nonlinear gain crystal, tunable femtosecond pulses from 1444 to 1683 nm are realized by conveniently adjusting the OPO cavity length with 76.8 MHz repetition rate. The maximum average output power is 152 m W at 1568 nm, corresponding to an idler power of 75 m W at 3197 nm as well as 36.6% total extraction efficiency.  相似文献

Phase-locked 3:1 division of an optical frequency was achieved with a continuous-wave monolithic optical parametric oscillator (OPO) pumped by a 532-nm Nd:YAG laser, by use of 5% MgO-doped LiNbO(3) as a nonlinear optical crystal. The OPO generated signal light (798 nm) with 4-mW power and idler light (1596 nm) with 3-mW power for a pump power of 68 mW. Approximately 2microW of second harmonics (SH's) of the idler light was produced by external-cavity-enhanced SH generation by use of a periodically poled LiNbO(3) crystal. The beat signal between the signal light and the SH of the idler light was observed with a signal-to-noise ratio of 40 dB at a 10-kHz bandwidth and was successfully phase locked to a signal from a synthesizer through the electro-optic effect of the crystal.  相似文献

We demonstrate, for the first time to our knowledge, an optical parametric amplifier directly pumped by a femtosecond oscillator. Wavelength-tunable pulses in the ranges 0.65-0.85 microm (signal) and 1.4-2.5 microm (idler) are generated at a repetition frequency of 1 MHz. For pumping the beta-barium borate crystal we use a microjoule Yb:KY(WO4)2 femtosecond oscillator with cavity dumping. Pulses with 30 nJ of energy and a duration of 16 fs are achieved from a supercontinuum seed generated in a sapphire plate.  相似文献

Quantum-correlated twin beams were generated from a triply resonant optical parametric oscillator with an a-cut KTP crystal pumped by a frequency-doubled diode laser. A total output of 5.1 mW was obtained in the classical-nonclassical light-conversion system driven by a 50-mW diode laser at 1080 nm. A quantum-noise reduction of 4.3 dB (63%) in the intensity difference between the twin beams was successfully observed at the detection frequency of 3 MHz.  相似文献
