Sequential generation of self-starting diverse operations in all-fiber laser based on thulium-doped fiber saturable absorber 下载免费PDF全文
Self-starting Q-switching, Q-switched mode-locking and mode-locking operation modes are achieved sequentially in an all-fiber erbium-doped fiber laser with thulium-doped fiber saturable absorber for the first time. The central wavelengths of Q-switching, Q-switched mode-locking and mode-locking operation modes are 1569.7 nm, 1570.9 nm, and 1572 nm, respectively. The mode-locking operation of the proposed fiber laser generates stable dark soliton with a repetition rate of 0.99 MHz and signal-to-noise ratio of 65 dB. The results validate the capability of generating soliton pulse by doped fiber saturable absorber. Furthermore, the proposed fiber laser is beneficial to the applications of optical communication and signal processing system. 相似文献

构建了可自启动的双波长运转掺铒光纤锁模激光器.通过优化增益光纤长度,利用掺铒光纤在1530nm附近的再吸收效应调节激光器的增益谱,使激光器在1530nm和1560nm附近具有相同的增益强度.实验中采用31cm掺铒光纤作为增益光纤,以透射式半导体可饱和吸收体作为锁模器件,实现了自启动双波长锁模运转.激光器锁模输出重复频率为58.01MHz,信噪比为58.2dB,最高输出功率为4.8mW.锁模输出的光谱在1532.4nm和1552.3nm处具有两个强度接近的谱峰,谱峰间距约为20nm.该激光器无需手动调节即可实现双波长运转,更便于实际使用. 相似文献

讨论了利用光谱滤波器实现自启动的被动锁模掺Yb3+光纤环形激光器的锁模机理,并研制出全光纤结构超短脉冲掺Yb3+光纤环形激光器.使用980 nm二极管激光器作为抽运源,高掺杂浓度掺Yb3+光纤作为增益介质.在净群速度色散为正的环形腔中加入光谱滤波器,抑制Yb3+离子在1030 nm强发射峰的同时,通过对啁啾脉冲的光谱滤波实现脉冲压缩.光谱滤波器与光纤非线性偏振旋转效应相结合,实现了激光器在1053 nm可自启动、十分稳定的锁模运转.激光器锁模阈值功率300 mW,平均斜率效率18.3%,最大输出功率53.07 mW,对应最大输出脉冲能量3.2 nJ.锁模光脉冲中心波长1053.6 nm,3 dB带宽10.84 nm,重复频率16.45 MHz.锁模脉冲宽度为皮秒量级,经腔外光栅对压缩至188 fs.

A stretched-pulse mode-locked ytterbium-doped fiber laser was passively synchronized to a femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser at
a low repetition rate of 240 kHz through large cross absorption modulation along additional 1-m-long erbium-doped fiber. The
synchronous fiber laser with an ultra-long fiber cavity could produce not only nanosecond flat-top pulses with tunable pulse
duration but also Gaussian-shape stretched pulses with its minimum pulse duration of ∼450 ps as confirmed by cross-correlation
measurement. When operating in the stretched pulse regime, the sub-nanosecond fiber laser could be synchronously triggered
by the master injection with the cavity-length mismatch tolerance up to ∼7.8 cm and timing jitter less than 400 fs, confirming
that the stretched-pulse mode-locking of the ultra-long slave fiber laser could be robustly controlled by cross absorption

A novel passively gigahertz harmonic mode-locked all-fiber laser based on hybrid fiber structure (single-mode fiber–graded-index multimode fiber–single-mode fiber (SMS)) is proposed SMS, which coils on the paddles of polarization controller (PC), is demonstrated to modulate the temporal intensity for mode-locking. The nonlinear absorption properties of the optical switch are controllable by adjusting the paddles of PC; such an ultrafast optical switch enables the wavelength switchable harmonic mode-locking operation. Ultrafast pulses with 1.9 ps at 1558.41 nm and 0.95 ps at 1563.08 nm are generated. The maximum repetition rate of the laser up to 1.127 GHz harmonic of fundamental repetition mode-locking at 1563.08 nm, corresponding to 880 order, and the output power is 4.2 mW. Considering its superiority in terms of low cost, easy integration, and high reliability, the findings validate that SMS can be used in harmonic mode-locking. 相似文献

Nanosecond pulse generation in an erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) passively mode-locked by a silver nanoparticle(SNP)-based saturable absorber(SA) is experimentally demonstrated. The SA is fabricated by depositing a nanosized SNP layer onto the surface of polyvinyl alcohol film through the thermal evaporation process. By inserting the SA into an EDFL cavity, stable mode-locked operation is achieved at 1561.5 nm with the maximum pulse energy up to 52.3 nJ. The laser operates at a pulse repetition frequency of 1.0 MHz with a pulse width of 202 ns. These results suggest that SNPs could be developed as an effective SA for mode-locking pulse generation. 相似文献

We demonstrate a wavelength-tunable, passively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser based on graphene and chirped fiber Bragg grating. The saturable absorber used to enable passive mode-locking in the fiber laser is a section of microfiber covered by graphene film, which allows light-graphene interaction via the evanescent field of the microfiber. The wavelength of the laser can be continuously tuned by adjusting the chirped fiber Bragg grating, while maintaining mode-locking stability. Such a system has high potential in tuning the mode-locked laser pulses across a wide wavelength range. 相似文献

We demonstrate a multi-wavelength erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) using erbium gain and four-wave mixing (FWM) effect in a piece of erbium-doped fiber (EDF) with high erbium ion concentration. The EDF has a pump absorption rate of 24.6 dB/m at 979 nm and is bi-directionally pumped by 980-nm laser diodes. FWM effect redistributes the energy of different oscillating lines and causes multi-wavelength operation. The laser generates more than 22 lines of optical comb with a line spacing of approximately 0.10 nm at the 1569-nm region using only 1.5-m-long EDF. 相似文献

利用非线性偏振旋转技术实现自起振被动锁模.在掺铒光纤环形腔激光器中产生了中心波长为1563.3 nm、重复频率为12.5 MHz、脉冲宽度为352.0 fs、3 dB光谱宽度为7.8 nm的孤子光脉冲.采用该孤子光脉冲作为抽运光源,经掺铒光纤放大器放大后,输入到101 m长的高非线性光子晶体光纤中,获得了20 dB带宽约为240 nm的超连续激光光谱.实验详细观测了光脉冲随抽运功率的变化及超连续激光光谱的形成过程,分析了其形成机理.研究表明:当抽运功率较低时,光谱加宽主要由高阶孤子的分裂引起;随着抽运功率的增加,高阶孤子分裂成基本孤子的数目逐渐增大,光谱进一步加宽;当抽运功率增加到受激拉曼散射的阈值时,受激拉曼散射成为光谱展宽的主要原因;抽运功率进一步增加时,受激拉曼散射、参量四波混频等非线性的共同作用将使光谱进一步加宽且变得光滑.

Time-domain absorption spectroscopy was demonstrated using a wideband, rapid wavelength-tunable, narrow-linewidth source based on an Er-doped ultrashort pulse fiber laser system. The spectrum of the Raman-shifted ultrashort soliton pulse was compressed using a comb-profile dispersion increasing fiber. Rapid wavelength sweeping was demonstrated using an electro-optical intensity modulator. The absorption spectrum of CH(2)Cl(2) liquid at 1625-1780 nm was observed in a 10 μs time-domain measurement. 相似文献

A comprehensive model of erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA) is proposed in this paper, taking exited-state absorption (ESA), amplified spontaneous emission (ASE), background absorption, mode field, and Erbium ion radial distribution into account. Computer programs capable of handling forward, backward, and different wavelength bidirectional pumping are developed. Among other things, it is found that under typical conditions, Gaussian field approximations may cause considerable errors. The optimum V-value for small signal gain is much smaller than that for minimum Gaussian or Desurvire spot size; ASE propagating opposite to the pimp beam can be several times higher than at propagating along the pump beam, resulting in a faster-than-linear decrease of the pump power at its beginning portion. Experimental results of domestic-made erbium-doped fibers pumped by 980 nm and 1480 nm laser diodes are also given. 相似文献

A simple switchable and tunable dual-wavelength passively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber ring laser based on nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) effect is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The NPR effect effectively induces wavelength- and intensity-dependent loss to readily implement stable dual-wavelength passively mode-locked operation. The wavelength switching and tuning of the dual-wavelength ultrashort pulse laser are achieved only by appropriately rotating the polarization controllers. The side-mode suppression ratio of the output pulse is larger than 41 dB over a wavelength-tuning range of 43.4 nm. Moreover, triple-wavelength ultrashort pulse can also be observed. 相似文献

A ring fiber laser with SESAM mode-locking mechanism is constructed. The spectral sideband distribution asymmetry of solitons is observed in the fiber laser. There are different order sidebands distributed in two edges of the soliton spectrum. Through experimentally studying the effect of the different gain media lengths on the mode-locked solitons, it is found that the spectral sideband asymmetry occurs at the long wavelength band of erbium-doped fiber (EDF) gain profile. The origin of sideband asymmetry is owing to the secondary amplification gain profile of EDF, which is pumped by the first gain peak at 1530 nm. Furthermore, an extra in-line polarizer is imported in the cavity for studying the effect of the polarization bias on sidebands. It is found that the polarization bias in the cavity is an important control method to adjust the power and generate the spectral sidebands. However, the polarization bias does not decide the generation of spectral sideband distribution asymmetry. 相似文献
