Dispersed fluorescence (DF) spectra of 1-propoxy, 1-butoxy, 2-propoxy, and 2-butoxy radicals have been observed under supersonic jet cooling conditions by pumping different vibronic bands of the B-X laser induced fluorescence excitation spectrum. The DF spectra were recorded for both conformers of 1-propoxy, three conformers of the possible five of 1-butoxy, the one possible conformer of 2-propoxy, and two conformers of the possible three of 2-butoxy. Analysis of the spectra yields the energy separations of the vibrationless levels of the ground X and low-lying A electronic state as well as their vibrational frequencies. In all cases, the vibrational structure of the DF spectra is dominated by a CO stretch progression yielding the nuCO stretching frequency for the X state and in most cases for the A state. In addition to the experimental work, quantum chemical calculations were carried out to aid the assignment of the vibrational levels of the X state and for some conformers the A state as well. Geometry optimizations of the different conformers of the isomers were performed and their energy differences in the ground states were determined. The results of the calculation of the energy separations of the close-lying X and A states of the different conformations are provided for comparison with the experimental observations.  相似文献

The authors have obtained rotationally resolved vacuum ultraviolet pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (vuv-PFI-PE) spectrum of HD in the photon energy range of 15.29-18.11 eV, covering the ionization transitions HD+(X 2Sigmag+,v+=0-21,N+)<--HD(X 1Sigmag+,v"=0,J"). The assignment of rotational transitions resolved in the vuv-PFI-PE vibrational bands for HD+(X 2Sigmag+,v+=0-20) and their simulation using the Buckingham-Orr-Sichel (BOS) model are presented. Rotational branches corresponding to the DeltaN=N+-J"=0, +/-1, +/-2, +/-3, and +/-4 transitions are observed in the vuv-PFI-PE spectrum of HD. The BOS simulation shows that the perturbation of vuv-PFI-PE rotational line intensities due to near resonance autoionization is very minor at v+>or=5 and decreases as v+ is increased. Thus, the rotationally resolved PFI-PE bands for HD+(v+>or=5) presented here provide reliable estimates of state-to-state cross sections for direct photoionization of HD, while the rotationally resolved PFI-PE bands for HD+(v+<5) are useful data for fundamental understanding of the near resonance autoionizing mechanism. On the basis of the rovibrational assignment of the vuv-PFI-PE bands, the ionization energies for the formation of HD+(X 2Sigmag+,v+=0-20,N+) from HD(X 1Sigmag+,v"=0,J") and the vibrational constants (omegae, omegaechie, omegaeye, and omegaeze), the rotational constants (Be and alphae), the vibrational energy spacings, and the dissociation energy for HD+(X 2Sigmag+) are determined. As expected, these values are found to be in excellent agreement with high level theoretical predictions.  相似文献

The optical spectrum of diatomic OsC has been investigated for the first time, with transitions recorded in the range from 17 390 to 22 990 cm(-1). Six bands were rotationally resolved and analyzed to obtain ground and excited state rotational constants and bond lengths. Spectra for six OsC isotopomers, 192 Os 12C (40.3% natural abundance), 190 Os 12C(26.0%), 189 Os 12C(16.0%), 188 Os 12C(13.1%), 187 Os 12C(1.9%), and 186 Os 12C(1.6%), were recorded and rotationally analyzed. The ground state was found to be X 3 Delta 3, deriving from the 4 delta 3 16 sigma 1 electronic configuration. Four bands were found to originate from the X 3 Delta 3 ground state, giving B 0"=0.533 492(33) cm(-1) and r 0 "=1.672 67(5) A for the 192 Os 12C isotopomer (1 sigma error limits); two of these, the 0-0[19.1]2<--X 3 Delta 3 and 1-0[19.1]2<--X 3 Delta 3 bands, form a vibrational progression with Delta G' 1/2=953.019 cm(-1). The remaining two bands were identified as originating from an Omega"=0 level that remains populated in the supersonic expansion. This level is assigned as the low-lying A 3 Sigma 0+ (-) state, which derives from the 4 delta 2 16 sigma 2 electronic configuration. The OsC molecule differs from the isovalent RuC molecule in having an X 3 Delta 3 ground state, rather than the X 2 delta 4, 1 Sigma+ ground state found in RuC. This difference in electronic structure is due to the relativistic stabilization of the 6s orbital in Os, an effect which favors occupation of the 6s-like 16 sigma orbital. The relativistic stabilization of the 16 sigma orbital also lowers the energy of the 4 delta 2 16 sigma 2, 3 Sigma(-) term, allowing this term to remain populated in the supersonically cooled molecular beam.  相似文献

We have obtained a rotationally resolved vacuum ultraviolet pulsed ˉeld ionization-photoelectron (VUV-PFI-PE) spectrum of H2 in the energy range of 15.30-18.09 eV, covering the ionization transitions H2+(X2§+g ,v+=0-18, N+=0-5)?H2(X1§+g , v00=0, J00=0-4). The assignment of the rotational transitions resolved inthe VUV-PFI-PE vibrational bands for H2+(X2§+g , v+=0-18) and their simulation using the Buckingham-Orr-Sichel (BOS) model are presented. Only the ¢N=N+?J00=0 and §2 rotational branches are observed in the VUV-PFI-PE spectrum of H2. However, the vibrational band is increasingly dominated by the 4N=0 rotational branch as v+ is increased. The BOS simulation reveals that the perturbation of VUV-PFI-PE rotational line intensities by near-resonance autoionizing Rydberg states is minor at v+?6 and decreases as v+ is increased. Thus, the rotationally resolved PFI-PE bands for H2+(v+?6) presented here providereliable estimates of state-to-state cross sections for direct photoionization of H2, while the rotationally resolved PFI-PE bands for H2+(v+·5) are useful data for fundamental understanding of the near resonance autoionizing mechanism. On the basis of the rovibrational assignment of the VUV-PFI-PE spectrum of H2, the ionization energies for the formation of H2+(X2§+g , v+=0-18, N+=0-5) from H2+(X1§+g , v00=0,J00=0-4), the vibrational constants (!e, !e?e, !eye, and !eze), the rotational constants (Bv+, Dv+, Be,and ?e), and the vibrational energy spacings ¢G(v++1/2) for H2+(X2§+g , v+=0-18) are determined. With a signiˉcantly higher photoelectron energy resolution achieved in the present study, the precisions of these spectroscopic values are higher than those obtained in the previous photoelectron studies. As expected, the spectroscopic results for H2+(X2§+g , v+=0-18) derived from this VUV-PFI-PE study are in excellent agreement with high-level theoretical predictions.  相似文献

The laser-induced fluorescence spectrum of jet-cooled L-tyrosine exhibits more than 20 vibronic bands in the 35450-35750 cm(-1) region. We attribute these bands to eight conformers by using results of UV-UV hole-burning spectroscopy. These isomers are classified into four groups; each group consists of two rotational isomers that have a similar side-chain conformation but different orientations of the phenolic OH. The splitting of band origins of rotational isomers is 31, 21, 5, and 0 cm(-1) for these groups. IR-UV spectra suggest that conformers belonging to two of the four groups have an intramolecular OH...N hydrogen bond between the COOH and NH2 groups. By comparing experimental and theoretical results of L-tyrosine with those of L-phenylalanine, we propose probable conformers of L-tyrosine.  相似文献

The Renner-Teller effect in C(2)H(2)(+)(X(2)Pi(u)) has been studied by using zero kinetic energy (ZEKE) photoelectron spectroscopy and coherent extreme ultraviolet (XUV) radiation. The rotationally resolved vibronic spectra have been recorded for energies up to 2000 cm(-1) above the ground vibrational state. The C triple bond C symmetric stretching (upsilon(2)), the CCH trans bending (upsilon(4)), and the CCH cis bending (upsilon(5)) vibrational excitations have been observed. The assigned vibronic bands are 4(1)(1)(kappa(2)Sigma(u)(+))(hot band), 4(1)(0)(mu/kappa(2)Sigma (u)(-/+)), 5(1)(0)(mu/kappa(2)Sigma (g)(+/-)), and 4(2)(0)(mu(2)Pi(u)), 4(2)(0)(kappa(2)Pi(u)), 4(1)(0)5(1)(0) (mu(2)Pi(g)), 0(0)(0)(X(2)Pi(u)), and 2(1)(0)(X(2)Pi(u)). The Renner-Teller parameters, the harmonic frequencies, the spin-orbit coupling constants, and the rotational constants for the corresponding vibronic bands have been determined by fitting the spectra with energy eigenvalues from the Hamiltonian that considers simultaneously Renner-Teller coupling, vibrational energies, rotational energies, and spin-orbit coupling interaction.  相似文献

The rotationally resolved electronic spectra of the electronic origin of the 7-azaindole-(H(2)O)(1) and of the 7-azaindole-(H(2)O)(2) clusters have been measured in a molecular beam. From the rotational constants the structures in the S(0) and S(1) electronic states were determined as cyclic with the pyrrolo NH and the pyridino N atoms being bridged by one and two water molecules, respectively. Excited state lifetimes of about 10 ns for both clusters have been found. In the spectrum of the 7-azaindole-(H(2)O)(2) cluster a splitting of the rovibronic band is observed, which can be traced back to a large amplitude motion, involving the out-of-plane hydrogen atoms of the water chain. Both the changes of the rotational constants upon electronic excitation and the orientation of the transition dipole point to a solvent induced state reversal between the L(a) and the L(b) states upon microsolvation.  相似文献

The rotationally resolved Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrum of the nu(s) HCl and DCl stretching bands for the hydrogen bonded complex H2S-HCl and its isotopomer D2S-DCl have been observed in a supersonic jet at 0.02 cm(-1) resolution. In the same experimental conditions, two additional bands observed without rotational structure in the HCl range of the dimer have been assigned to the cyclic trimer H2S-(HCl)(2). The multidimensional coupling picture involving the donor stretch mode nu(s) and low frequency intermolecular modes already evidenced in several medium strength hydrogen bonded complexes is beautifully confirmed by the observation of completely separated hot band progressions in the 198 K cell spectrum of both dimers. Based on our anharmonic adiabatic approach for the treatment of the coupled vibrations, absolute vibrational frequencies, diagonal and off-diagonal anharmonicities as well as rovibrational coupling constants obtained from analyses of several 2-D subspaces at MP2 and CCSD(T) level are in excellent agreement with spectroscopic results. In the case of small light complexes, the combination of elevated rotational constants and a negligible contribution of intramolecular vibrational redistribution (IVR) improve the reliability of predissociation lifetime measurements, estimated to 180 ps for H2S-HCl and above 200 ps for D2S-DCl.  相似文献

Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) excitation spectra of the B-X (2)A(") electronic transition of the CH(2)CHS radical, which is the sulfur analog of the vinoxy (CH(2)CHO) radical, were observed under room temperature and jet-cooled conditions. The LIF excitation spectra show very poor vibronic structures, since the fluorescence quantum yields of the upper vibronic levels are too small to detect fluorescence, except for the vibrationless level in the B state. A dispersed fluorescence spectrum of jet-cooled CH(2)CHS from the vibrationless level of the B state was also observed, and vibrational frequencies in the X state were determined. Precise rotational and spin-rotation constants in the ground vibronic level of the radical were determined from pure rotational spectroscopy using a Fourier-transform microwave (FTMW) spectrometer and a FTMW-millimeter wave double-resonance technique [Y. Sumiyoshi et al., J. Chem. Phys. 123, 054324 (2005)]. The rotationally resolved LIF excitation spectrum for the vibronic origin band of the jet-cooled CH(2)CHS radical was analyzed using the ground state molecular constants determined from pure rotational spectroscopy. Determined molecular constants for the upper and lower electronic states agree well with results of ab initio calculations.  相似文献

The ground electronic state of BeOBe(+) was probed using the pulsed-field ionization zero electron kinetic energy photoelectron technique. Spectra were rotationally resolved and transitions to the zero-point level, the symmetric stretch fundamental and first two bending vibrational levels were observed. The rotational state symmetry selection rules confirm that the ground electronic state of the cation is (2)Σ(g)(+). Detachment of an electron from the HOMO of neutral BeOBe results in little change in the vibrational or rotational constants, indicating that this orbital is nonbonding in nature. The ionization energy of BeOBe [65480(4) cm(-1)] was refined over previous measurements. Results from recent theoretical calculations for BeOBe(+) (multireference configuration interaction) were found to be in good agreement with the experimental data.  相似文献

Accurate geometries, relative energies, rotational and quartic centrifugal distortion constants, dipole moments, harmonic vibrational frequencies, and infrared intensities were determined from ab initio electronic structure calculations for eighteen conformers of the neutral form of the amino acid L-proline. Only four conformers have notable population at low and moderate temperature. The second most stable conformer is only 2+/-2 kJ mol(-1) above the global minimum, while the third and fourth conformers are nearly degenerate and have an excess energy of 7+/-2 kJ mol(-1) relative to the global minimum. All four conformers have one hydrogen bond: N.HO in the lower energy pair of conformers, and NH.O in the higher energy pair of conformers. The conformer pairs differ only in their ring puckering. The relative energies of the conformers include corrections for valence electron correlation, extrapolated to the complete basis set limit, as well as core correlation and relativistic effects. Structural features of the pyrrolidine ring of proline are discussed by using the concept of pseudorotation. The accurate rotational and quartic centrifugal distortion constants as well as the vibrational frequencies and infrared intensities should aid identification and characterization of the conformers of L-proline by rotational and vibrational spectroscopy, respectively. Bonding features of L-proline, especially intramolecular hydrogen bonds, were investigated by the atoms-in-molecules (AIM) technique.  相似文献

By the utilization of a new laboratory method to synthesize OBrO employing an electric discharge, the visible absorption spectrum of gaseous OBrO has been investigated. Absorption spectra of OBrO have been recorded at 298 K, using a continuous-scan Fourier transform spectrometer at a spectral resolution of 0.8 cm(-1). A detailed vibrational and rotational analysis of the observed transitions has been carried out. The FTS measurements provide experimental evidence that the visible absorption spectrum of OBrO results from the electronic transition C(2A2)-X(2B1). Vibrational constants have been determined for the C(2A2) state (omega(1) = 648.3 +/- 1.9 cm(-1) and omega 2 = 212.8 +/- 1.2 cm(-1)) and for the X(2B1) state (omega 1 = 804.1 +/- 0.8 cm(-1) and omega 2 = 312.2 +/- 0.5 cm(-1)). The vibrational bands (1,0,0), (2,0,0), and (1,1,0) show rotational structure, whereas the other observed bands are unstructured because of strong predissociation. Rotational constants have been determined experimentally for the upper electronic state C(2A2). By modeling the band contours, predissociation lifetimes have been estimated. Further, an estimate for the absorption cross-section of OBrO has been made by assessing the bromine budget within the gas mixture, and atmospheric lifetimes of OBrO have been calculated using a photochemical model.  相似文献

The laser-induced fluorescence and laser-excited dispersed fluorescence spectra of the cyclohexoxy radical has been observed under two sets of free-jet-cooling conditions, characterized by rotational temperatures of approximately 1 and 100 K. Although five conformers of cyclohexoxy are possible, it appears that all presently observed spectral bands can be accounted for by a single one. All cold spectral bands are assigned to the B-X electronic transition of the cyclohexoxy radical. Transitions to both a' and a" B state vibrational levels are observed and allowed due to a substantial pseudo-Jahn-Teller effect in the X state. Hot bands are also observed, which we attributed to transitions to the B state from the low-lying A electronic state. Analysis of the spectra yields vibrational frequencies for the X, A, and B states as well as the energy separations of their vibrationless levels.  相似文献

The hindered internal rotor states (n(K) = 0(0), 1(1), and 1(0)) of the CN-Ar complex with two quanta of CN stretch (v(CN) = 2), along with its ground state (v(CN) = 0), have been characterized by IR-UV double resonance and UV spectroscopy. Analysis of rotationally structured bands enable n(K) assignments and reveal perturbations due to Coriolis coupling between two closely spaced hindered rotor states, n(K) = 1(1) and 1(0). A deperturbation analysis is carried out to derive accurate rotational constants and their associated CN center-of-mass to Ar bond lengths as well as the magnitude of the coupling. The energetic ordering and spacings of the CN-Ar hindered rotor states provide a direct experimental probe of the angular dependence of the CN X (2)Σ(+) + Ar potential and permit radially averaged anisotropy parameters (V(10) = 5.2 cm(-1) and V(20) = 3.2 cm(-1)) to be determined. This analysis indicates a relatively flat potential about a linear N≡C-Ar configuration with a barrier to CN internal rotation of only ~12 cm(-1). The angular potentials determined from experiment and ab initio theory are in good accord, although theory predicts a higher barrier to CN internal rotation. A similar approach yields the infrared spectrum of H(2)-CN in the CN overtone region, which exhibits a rotationally resolved Σ ← Σ parallel band that is consistent with theoretical predictions for ortho-H(2)-CN.  相似文献

We present rotationally resolved spectra of the S(1)<--S(0) transition of anthracene at 27,687.153(4) cm(-1) as well as Stark effect measurements of the free anthracene molecule in electric fields of up to 85 kV/cm. The molecule is rotationally cooled in a supersonic jet expansion to a temperature of 4 K. The rotational constants of the electronic states S(0) and S(1) are determined by a simplex fit comparing the experimental spectra with simulations for an asymmetric rigid rotor. The measured and simulated energies are in very good agreement and the estimated accuracy of the rotational constants is 1 per thousand. Furthermore, the polarizabilities of the electronic states S(0) and S(1) are investigated. At an electric field of 85 kV/cm, line shifts of up to 150 MHz caused by a change in the polarizability of Deltaalpha=123(7) a.u. and broadenings due to the anisotropy are observed. The components of the tensor polarizabilities of the electronic states S(0) and S(1) are determined by simulating the complete spectra using second-order perturbation theory.  相似文献

Pure rotational spectra of trans- and cis-HOCO have been observed by Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy and the millimeter-wave double resonance technique, where gas phase spectra of the cis-conformer were observed for the first time. These radicals were produced in a supersonic jet by discharging a mixture gas of CO and H(2)O diluted in Ar. The molecular constants including the fine and hyperfine constants have been precisely determined for both conformers. Deuterated analogs have also been observed. The determined r(0) structures agree with these of ab initio calculations. The Fermi contact constants show a difference of the unpaired electron densities on the protons between the two conformers. Intensity of the spectrum for cis-HOCO was compared with that of trans-HOCO, leading to a conclusion that both conformers were produced nearly equally in abundance under the present experimental conditions.  相似文献

We report the first rotationally resolved spectroscopic studies on PH3+(X2A2") using zero kinetic energy photoelectron spectroscopy and coherent VUV radiation. The spectra about 8000 cm(-1) above the ground vibrational state of PH3+(X2A2") have been recorded. We observed the vibrational energy level splittings of PH3+(X2A2") due to the tunneling effect in the inversion (symmetric bending) vibration (nu2+). The energy splitting for the first inversion vibrational state (0+/0-) is 5.8 cm(-1). The inversion vibrational energy levels, rotational constants, and adiabatic ionization energies (IEs) for nu2+ = 0-16 have been determined. The bond angles between the neighboring P-H bonds and the P-H bond lengths are also obtained using the experimentally determined rotational constants. With the increasing of the inversion vibrational excitations (nu2+), the bond lengths (P-H) increase a little and the bond angles (H-P-H) decrease a lot. The inversion vibrational energy levels have also been calculated by using one dimensional potential model and the results are in good agreement with the experimental data for the first several vibrational levels. In addition to inversion vibration, we also observed firstly the other two vibrational modes: the symmetric P-H stretching vibration (nu1+) and the degenerate bending vibration (nu4+). The fundamental frequencies for nu1+ and nu4+ are 2461.6 (+/-2) and 1043.9 (+/-2) cm(-1), respectively. The first IE for PH3 was determined as 79670.9 (+/-1) cm(-1).  相似文献

MM3(94) has been used to predict the conformers of nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocycles with polar aliphatic sidechains. Computations were done for cases in which experimental gas-phase rotational constants have been determined and include histamine and analogs of tryptophan. The agreement with experiment for the tryptophan analogs is better than earlier MM2(87) computations but still not complete. A fairly good match can be made to experimental rotational constants of four histamine conformers, but other conformers are also predicted that may not be important experimentally. A comparison can be made with ab initio calculations undertaken for histamine. Similar structures were generally predicted, but there were significant discrepancies with MM3 in relative conformer energies. © 1995 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

To further investigate the Renner-Teller (RT) effect and barriers to linearity and dissociation in the simplest singlet carbene, we recorded fluorescence excitation spectra of bands involving the pure bending levels 2(n)(0) with n = 0-9 and the combination states 1(1)(0)2(n)(0) with n = 1-8 and 2(n)(0)3(1)(0) with n = 0-5 in the A(1)A'<-- X(1)A' system of CDF, in addition to some weak hot bands. The spectra were measured under jet-cooled conditions using a pulsed discharge source, and rotationally analyzed to yield precise values for the band origins and rotational constants; fluorescence lifetimes were also measured to probe for lifetime lengthening effects due to the RT interaction. The derived A state parameters are compared with previous results for CHF and with predictions of ab initio electronic structure theory. The approach to linearity in the A state is evidenced in a sharp increase in the A rotational constant with bending excitation, and a minimum in the vibrational intervals near 2(9). A fit of the vibrational intervals for the pure bending levels yields an A state barrier to linearity in good agreement both with that previously derived for CHF and ab initio predictions. From the spectra and lifetime measurements, the onset of extensive RT perturbations is found to occur at a higher energy than in CHF, consistent with the smaller A constant.  相似文献

A photoelectron spectrum of H(2)O has been recorded at a resolution of 2 meV under Doppler-free conditions. Complex rotational structures appear in the individual vibrational states of the electronic X?(+ 2)B(1) and A?(+ 2)A(2) states in H(2)O(+). The rotational structures are analyzed and well reproduced using a spectator orbital model developed for rotationally resolved photoelectron spectroscopy.  相似文献
