Bi-functional reactive dyes have been used for reducing the fibrillation of lyocell fibres. The sole influence of CI Reactive Black 5 dye on the fibrillation tendency of lyocell single jersey knitted fabrics was investigated by dyeing with different concentrations (35 g/L for medium shade and 70 g/L for dark shade), dyeing without dyestuff and by decolouration process after each dyeing. The fibrillation tendency of lyocell fibres was accessed by means of fibre wet abrasion resistance and fibrillation number. Nitrogen content was used as indication of the amount of reactive dye in fabrics during dyeing and decolouration processes. The correlation between fibre fibrillation tendency and colour values of fabrics was found. Due to the fibrillation reduction, pilling formation in dyed lyocell fabrics was improved. As colour values can estimate the dye fixation and reduction in fabrics, reactive dye can be used as a visible marker for crosslinking effect on lyocell fabrics.  相似文献

Extracts from the root of Lithospermum erythrorhizon (gromwell) have been used for many centuries as a natural red dye and crude drugs with excellent performance for wound healing. In particular, shikonin a major constituent of the gromwell colorant is reported to possess antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antitumor activities, etc. Therefore, we tried to manufacture antimicrobial and antioxidant cotton fabrics for biocompatible clothing materials using the natural stuff and environmentally friendly process. In this study, cotton fabrics were dyed with the colorant extracted from the root of gromwell, and their properties were closely investigated. Consequently, we discovered that the cotton fabrics dyed with the extracts from the root of gromwell showed excellent antioxidant performance as well as antibacterial ability. Also, the functionalities and color fastness were improved by gallnut mordanting and cationization of the cotton fabrics.  相似文献

Mimosa tenuiflora extract has been used in food industry as an additive and in textile and leather industry as a colorant. Two types of fabrics, ready to be dyed white and indigo dyed fabrics, were dyed with M. tenuiflora extract. The fabrics were mordanted after dyeing with six different metal salts. Colorimetric evaluations of fabrics were carried out by spectrophotometer. Colour fastness to washing, rubbing and light were performed. Colour strength of fabrics was calculated from Kubelka–Munk formula. Highest vividness (C1) values were obtained by Ni mordant. Moderate fastness values were observed. However poor wet rubbing fastness values were observed in the case of indigo dyed fabrics due to lack of good wet rubbing fastness of indigo itself.  相似文献

The microemulsions of three polysiloxanes modified with different amines are prepared. Three functional polysiloxanes are aminopropyl polydimethylsiloxane AP-PDMS, N-(β-aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropyl polydimethylsiloxane AEAP-PDMS, and N,N-(γ-dimethylamino-propyl)-γ-aminopropyl polydimethylsiloxane DMAP-PDMS, respectively. The effect of the microemulsions on the color shade of the dyed cellulose with reactive dyes is investigated by reflectance spectra, color yield (K/S), and the color differences (Δ E). The results show that the K/S of the yellow fabric treated with AP-PDMS decreased. The K/S of the red fabrics treated with AP-PDMS, AEAP-PDMS, and DMAP-PDMS all had very slight increase. The K/S of the blue fabrics treated with AP-PDMS, AEAP-PDMS, and DMAP-PDMS also all increased. The handle of the sample treated with AEAP-PDMS was better than those of the other samples, but the whiteness of it was worse. The wash fastness and the wet rubbing fastness of the dyed fabrics treated with three functional silicones had not noticeable change.  相似文献

A potentially environmentally responsible dyeing procedure for ultra-deep shades on cotton was developed using a cationization method in combination with mercerization. The effects of both treatments on dyeing performance and colorfastness properties of cotton fabrics dyed with reactive dyes were analyzed individually and in combination. Both mercerization and cationization have been proved to be effective in increasing the depth of shade on cotton. The colorfastness properties, except colorfastness to wet crocking, of mercerized–cationized cotton fabrics dyed without salt were much better than untreated cotton dyed using a conventional dyeing procedure. Unlike untreated cotton fabrics, the concentration of Na2CO3 in the dyeing process of mercerized–cationized cotton fabrics was lowered from 20 to 5 g/L without compromising dye fixation and colorfastness properties. With low concentrations of dyes and Na2CO3 and no electrolyte in the dye bath effluent, the dyeing procedure of mercerized–cationized cotton fabrics for ultra-deep shades is potentially a more environmentally benign method than conventional dyeing with reactive dyes.  相似文献

A new dyeing process of sol–gel silica doped with direct dyes is investigated for improving color strength (K/S value) and dyeing fastness. Cotton fabrics are dyed in this direct dye silica solution. The results indicate that the K/S value of C.I. Direct Blue 86 and C.I. Direct Red 23 are enhanced by 12.8% and 16.8%, respectively. For C.I. Direct Blue 86, the washing staining fastness is improved by half a grade, and the rubbing fastness and the washing change fastness are enhanced by one grade, respectively. Compared to the fabric fixed with fixing reagent MMF-1, the K/S value is improved by about 23.7% and the wet rubbing fastness and washing change fastness are enhanced by half a grade. The formation of uniform continuous layers on the fiber surface dyed with direct dye silica solution is revealed by video microscope, and the calculated sol–gel weight gain on the fabric is 4.6%.  相似文献

Application of natural dyes for textiles is increasing due to awareness of environment, ecology, and pollution control. The purpose of this study is to determine the color, antimicrobial, and fastness properties of cotton fabrics dyed with thyme and pomegranate peel without a mordanting process. In this way, it was planned to avoid use of metallic mordants (heavy-metal salts) and prevent heavy-metal pollution for ecological production. Additionally, a variety of the most commonly used mordants, namely potassium aluminum sulfate, copper(II) sulfate, iron(II) sulfate, and tin(II) chloride, were used for mordanting of cotton fabrics in order to compare the differently mordanted and unmordanted dyed fabrics’ color efficiencies (K/S) and CIE L * a * b * color values. It was found that mordant type had an effect on color efficiency and the color coordinates of fabrics dyed with both thyme and pomegranate fruit peel. Moreover, the antimicrobial properties of the fabrics only dyed directly with thyme and pomegranate peel without any mordanting process were determined to demonstrate the usability of these natural dye sources without use of any mordanting agents. The obtained antimicrobial activities were compared with undyed samples. Undyed samples showed no antimicrobial activity, whereas significant antimicrobial activity was obtained after the dyeing procedure using thyme and pomegranate peel on unmordanted fabrics. Washing, rubbing, perspiration, and lightfastness properties of dyed fabrics were also evaluated. Thyme and pomegranate fruit peel as natural dye sources revealed sufficient results even for unmordanted samples.  相似文献

In this paper, konjac glucomannan was cationized by 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride (a kind of cationic reagent) as a paper strength agent. The effects of dosage of cationic reagent, cationization time, cationization temperature and the pH of papermaking on paper properties were analyzed. The results showed that when 1% cationic glucomannan (the cationization temperature was 70°C, dosage of cationic reagent was 20% and cationization time was 5 h) was added, tensile index, burst index and folding endurance of the paper were improved by 11.0%, 13.2%, 72.0%, respectively, compared with the control. The results of SEM analysis, FTIR analysis, and elemental analysis illustrated that the addition of paper strengthening agent make fibers combined more closely, and further lead to the increase of paper strength properties.  相似文献

This work reports on dyeing of nylon/elastane fabric with water-soluble phthalocyanines ( 1-4 ) bearing quinoline 5-sulfonic acid substituents on the peripheral or nonperipheral positions and determining the antibacterial efficiency of the phthalocyanine compounds and the dyed nylon/elastane fabrics. The light, washing, water, perspiration, and rubbing fastness properties of nylon/elastane fabrics dyed with phthalocyanines were also determined. The results showed that all dyed fabrics showed very good wet fastness values. The lightfastness value of the nylon/elastane fabric dyed with phthalocyanine dye ( 1 ) showed a much better value than the others. Also, the antibacterial efficiencies of the dyed nylon fabrics and the dye compounds were investigated against a gram-negative ( Escherichia coli ) and a grampositive ( Staphylococcus aureus ) bacteria by using disc diffusion method. The results showed that the dyed nylon/elastane fabrics and the compounds exhibited antibacterial activities against both bacteria.  相似文献

Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata f. rubra (Red Cabbage) dye is composed mainly of natural pigment called anthocyanins used as a natural colourant. Wool and silk fibres were dyed with the aqueous extract obtained from red cabbage. The dyeing process was investigated and the combined effects of dyeing conditions on the colour yield parameter (K/S) were studied. Resulted fastness to wash, rubbing and light of the dyed fabrics were evaluated. Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD5) of the residual effluent were measured. Best dyeing conditions were found to be: 50 g/100 mL, pH 2, 60 min and 100 °C, respectively, for the red cabbage weight, pH, dyeing duration and temperature. Good fastnesses properties were found in both cases: for wool and silk fabrics. It was found also that the calculated biodegradability ratio (COD/BOD5) of the residual bath of dyeing wool and silk with red cabbage extract are lower than 1.5 which means that these baths are biodegradable.  相似文献

The novel polysiloxane material modified with fluorocarbon side chains was synthesized. FTIR, FNMR were used to characterize the copolymer structure. The emulsion of the modified polysiloxane was prepared. The reflectance spectrum of the dyed polyester fabric treated with the polymer was also discussed. The effect of the modified polysiloxane on the color fastness of the dyed polyester fabric was investigated. The results show that the novel polysiloxane material modified with fluorocarbon side chains had excellent surface activity. It did not affect the shade of color and the fastnesses of the dyed fabrics and could improve the handle of fabrics. The treated fabric with the modified polysiloxane showed excellent repellency to water.  相似文献

A series of novel thiazolo[3,2‐a]pyrimidine derivatives were synthesized by using β‐ketoanilides 1a–c as starting materials and as key intermediates for preparation of new pyrimidinecompounds 3a–e and fused heterocyclic pyrimidine derivatives 5a–c . The new compounds were transformed to disperse dyes 6a,b and 7 . The chemical structures were elucidated by spectroscopic and elemental analyses and found to be in good agreement with the proposed structures. The versatility of compounds 6a,b and 7 for textile dyeing as disperse dyes was reported. The synthesized dyes were applied to polyester fabrics by using high temperature dyeing method at 120°C. The dye uptake expressed as color strength (k/s) of the dyed samples has been measured. Moreover, the color strength was examined in detail. In addition, the position of color in CIELAB coordinates (L*, a*, b*, h, and C*) was assessed. The color fastness of the dyed samples gave excellent results for washing and rubbing; however, the light fastness was moderate. Raman spectra of dyed samples unequivocally excluded ring dyeing and found to match with the proposed structures.  相似文献

The dyeing behaviour of gamma irradiated cotton fabric using Reactive Black-5 dye powder has been investigated. The mercerized, bleached and plain weaved cotton fabric was irradiated to different absorbed doses of 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 Gy using Co-60 gamma irradiator. Dyeing was performed using irradiated and un-irradiated cotton with dye solutions. The dyeing parameters such as temperature of dyeing, time of dyeing and pH of dyeing solutions were optimised. The colour strength values of dyed fabrics were evaluated by comparing irradiated and un-irradiated cotton in CIE Lab system using Spectra flash SF650. Methods suggested by International Standard Organisation (ISO) were employed to study the effect of gamma irradiation on the colourfastness properties of dyed fabric. It is found that gamma irradiated cotton dyed with Reactive Black-5 has not only improved the colour strength but also enhanced the rating of fastness properties.  相似文献

Aqueous fluorescent dispersions containing dyed acrylic-based copolymer nanoparticles possess significant credentials concerning green technology as compared to those prepared with the conventional vinyl-based monomers in textile and garment sectors; however, their essential textile fastness properties are yet to achieve. In the present work, a series of acrylic nanodispersions were synthesized by varying the moles ratio of benzyl methacrylate (BZMA), methyl methacrylate (MMA), and 2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate (HPMA) monomers. This was done to study their effect on dye aggregation and dyed polymer particles agglomeration. FT-IR spectral analysis showed the formation of polymer structures, while Malvern Analyzer, Transmission Electron Microscopy, and Scanning Electron Microscopy analysis suggested that the particles are spherical in shape and their size is less than 200 nm. The obtained nanodispersions were later applied on cotton fabrics for the evaluation of wash fastness and colour migration. Premier color scan spectrophotometer and zeta potential measurement studies suggested that colour migration of printed cotton fabrics increased with an increasing agglomeration of particles and it was also observed to increase with the moles ratio of MMA and zeta potentials.  相似文献

The dyeing behaviour of mercerized and gamma irradiated cotton fabric using stilbene based direct dye has been investigated. The fabric was treated with different concentrations of alkali to optimize the mercerization. The optimum mercerized cotton fabric was irradiated to absorbed doses of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 kGy using Cs-137 gamma irradiator. Dyeing was performed using irradiated and un-irradiated cotton with dye solutions. The dyeing parameters such as temperature, time of dyeing, pH of dyeing solutions and salt concentration were optimized. The colour strength values of dyed fabrics were evaluated by comparing irradiated and un-irradiated cotton in CIE Lab system using Spectra flash SF650. Methods suggested by International Standard Organization (ISO) were employed to study the effect of gamma irradiation on the colourfastness properties of dyed fabric. It was found that mercerized and irradiated cotton have not only improved the colour strength but enhanced the rating of fastness properties also.  相似文献

We have described a novel red biochrome, 514 Da in size, produced by solid-state cultivation of a bacterial isolate obtained from garden soil. The growth requirements of the isolate, the chemical characteristics of the biochrome produced, and the application of the biochrome in dying of silk, wool, and cotton fabrics have been studied. The biochrome obtained after 52 h of incubation and having a λ max of 535 nm was used for dyeing the fabrics. We found that silk, wool, and cotton fabrics dyed with this new natural red compound have high color strength values and dye uptake along with good color fastness as well as antibacterial activity.  相似文献

Cotton fabric is usually dyed with reactive dyes. During the dyeing process, a large amount of salt is required to achieve higher exhaustion of the dye from the dyebath onto the fiber. Dyeing of cotton with reactive dyes has a substantial environmental impact due to the discharge of a large volume of highly colored and saline effluents. Chemical cationization allows cotton fibers to be dyed without salt by chemically modifying cellulosic macromolecules to introduce positively charged sites. In this study, cotton fabric was cationized using (3-chloro-2-hydroxylpropyl) trimethyl-ammonium chloride (CHPTAC). Dye uptake was assessed using two reactive dyes, CI Reactive Blue 235 and CI Reactive Blue 19. Dye exhaustion kinetics were determined using a Datacolor-HueMetrix Monitor system. Analysis of variance demonstrated significant effects of CHPTAC concentration and exhaustion time on the percent exhaustion. Color strength at the end of the dyeing cycle was significantly higher for cationized fabrics compared to the control fabric. This work shows that treatment of cotton with CHPTAC enhanced dye uptake properties due to the introduction of cationic sites and resulted in superior dyeing without the addition of salt.  相似文献

The synthesis of some novel monoazo disperse dyes derived from 5-acetyl-2-amino-4-methylthiazole using various N-alkyl derivatives of aniline and their dyeing performance as disperse dyes have been assessed on cellulose triacetate fabric. The spectral properties of these dyes were also measured. The dyed fabric show good light fastness, very good rubbing, perspiration, washing fastness and excellent sublimation fastness. These dyes have been found to give bright yellow to maroon color shade with very good depth and levelness on fabric. The dyebath exhaustion and fixation on fabric has been found to be very good.  相似文献

A series of 4-hydroxyphenylazopyrazolopyrimidine disperse dyes were prepared via one-pot reactions of p-hydroxyphenylhydrazone, hydrazine hydrate, and acetylacetone or enaminones using microwave irradiation as an energy source. Structural assignments of the dyes were confirmed by X-ray crystallographic structure determination. Instead of discharging the dyebath after each dyeing cycle, the residual dyebath was spectrophotometrically analyzed and then pH readjusted for a repeat dyeing with longer time. Fastness of the dyed samples was measured after each recycle. Most of the dyed fabrics tested displayed good light fastness and excellent fastness to washing and perspiration. Finally, the biological activity of the synthesized dyes against Gram positive bacteria, Gram negative bacteria and yeast were evaluated.  相似文献

Dyeing behavior of gamma irradiated cotton fabric using Lawson dye extracted from henna leaves has been investigated. Cotton and dye powder are irradiated to different absorbed doses of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 kGy using Cs-137 gamma irradiator. The dyeing parameters such as dyeing time, electrolyte (salt) concentration and mordant concentrations using copper and iron as mordants are optimized. Dyeing is performed using un-irradiated and irradiated cotton with dye solutions and their color strength values are evaluated in CIE Lab system using Spectraflash –SF650. Methods suggested by International Standard Organization (ISO) have been employed to investigate the colourfastness properties such as colourfastness to light, washing and rubbing of irradiated dyed fabric. It is found that gamma ray treatment of cotton dyed with extracts of henna leaves has significantly improved the color strength as well as enhanced the rating of fastness properties.  相似文献
