This paper may be understood as a continuation of Topsoe's seminal paper [F. Topsoe, Compactness in spaces of measures, Studia Math. 36 (1970) 195-212] to characterize, within an abstract setting, compact subsets of finite inner regular measures w.r.t. the weak topology. The new aspect is that neither assumptions on compactness of the inner approximating lattices nor nonsequential continuity properties for the measures will be imposed. As a providing step also a generalization of the classical Portmanteau lemma will be established. The obtained characterizations of compact subsets w.r.t. the weak topology encompass several known ones from literature. The investigations rely basically on the inner extension theory for measures which has been systemized recently by König [H. König, Measure and Integration, Springer, Berlin, 1997; H. König, On the inner Daniell-Stone and Riesz representation theorems, Doc. Mat. 5 (2000) 301-315; H. König, Measure and integration: An attempt at unified systematization, Rend. Istit. Mat. Univ. We discuss conditions under which a convex cone KRΩ admits a finitely additive probability m such that supkKm(k)?0. Based on these, we characterise those linear functionals that are representable as finitely additive expectations. A version of Riesz decomposition based on this property is obtained as well as a characterisation of positive functionals on the space of integrable functions.  相似文献

An operator idealA is said to be of Riesz type lp (0A(E), where E is a complex Banach space, is a Riesz operator with absolutely p-summable eigenvalues. The main purpose of this paper is to give a unified approach to the problem of estimating resolvents of operators T that belong to an arbitrary operator ideal of Riesz type lp. The method used is based on a representation of the resolvent of T2n (n>p) in the weak operator topology by characteristic determinants. The same method is used to derive estimates of Fredholm minors. The results obtained extend, generalize, and simplify results of Markus, König, and Engelbrecht and Grobler, and verify a conjecture of König. Finally, the resolvent estimates are applied to establish sufficient conditions for the completeness of principal elements.  相似文献

A Riesz space E is said to have b-property if each subset which is order bounded in E~~ is order bounded in E. The relationship between b-property and completeness, being a retract and the absolute weak topology |σ|(E~, E) is studied. Perfect Riesz spaces are characterized in terms of b-property. It is shown that b-property coincides with the Levi property in Dedekind complete Frechet lattices.   相似文献

We use versions of Bismut type derivative formulas obtained by Driver and Thalmaier [9], to prove derivative estimates for various heat semigroups on Riemannian vector bundles. As an application, the weak (1,1) property for a class of Riesz transforms on a vector bundle is established. Conditional expectations operators acting on Riesz spaces are shown to commute with a class of principal band projections. Using the above commutation property, conditional expectation operators on Riesz spaces are shown to be averaging operators. Here the theory of f-algebras is used when defining multiplication on the Riesz spaces. This leads to the extension of these conditional expectation operators to their so-called natural domains, i.e., maximal domains for which the operators are both averaging operators and conditional expectations. Dénes König (1884–1944) is a Hungarian mathematician well known for his treatise on graph theory (König, 1936). When he was a student, he published two books on mathematical recreations ( and ). Does his work on mathematical recreations have any relation to his work on graph theory? If yes, how are they connected? To answer these questions, we will examine his books of 1902, 1905 and 1936, and compare them with each other. We will see that the books of 1905 and 1936 include many common topics, and that the treatment of these topics is different between 1905 and 1936.  相似文献

We prove that the existence of a Kähler-Einstein metric on a Fano manifold is equivalent to the properness of the energy functionals defined by Bando, Chen, Ding, Mabuchi and Tian on the set of Kähler metrics with positive Ricci curvature. We also prove that these energy functionals are bounded from below on this set if and only if one of them is. This answers two questions raised by X.-X. Chen. As an application, we obtain a new proof of the classical Moser-Trudinger-Onofri inequality on the two-sphere, as well as describe a canonical enlargement of the space of Kähler potentials on which this inequality holds on higher-dimensional Fano Kähler-Einstein manifolds.  相似文献

Using some new linear topological invariants, isomorphisms and quasidiagonal isomorphisms are investigated on the class of first type power Köthe spaces [Proceedings of 7th Winter School in Drogobych, 1976, pp. 101-126; Turkish J. Math. 20 (1996) 237-289; Linear Topol. Spaces Complex Anal. 2 (1995) 35-44]. This is the smallest class of Köthe spaces containing all Cartesian and projective tensor products of power series spaces and closed with respect to taking of basic subspaces (closed linear hulls of subsets of the canonical basis). As an application, it is shown that isomorphic spaces from this class have, up to quasidiagonal isomorphisms, the same basic subspaces of finite (infinite) type.  相似文献

We define and investigate a class of Koszul quasi-hereditary algebras for which there is a natural equivalence between the bounded derived category of graded modules and the bounded derived category of graded modules over (a proper version of) the extension algebra of standard modules. Examples of such algebras include, in particular, the multiplicity free blocks of the BGG category O, and some quasi-hereditary algebras with Cartan decomposition in the sense of König.  相似文献

The problem if a topological closure preserves regularity is solved in the class of discrete Riesz spaces. Our aim in this paper is to deal with the boundedness of maximal functions in generalized Lebesgue spaces Lp(⋅) when p(⋅) satisfies a log-Hölder condition at infinity that is weaker than that of Cruz-Uribe, Fiorenza and Neugebauer [D. Cruz-Uribe, A. Fiorenza, C.J. Neugebauer, The maximal function on variable Lp spaces, Ann. Acad. Sci. Fenn. Math. 28 (2003) 223-238; 29 (2004) 247-249]. Our result extends the recent work of Diening [L. Diening, Maximal functions on generalized Lp(⋅) spaces, Math. Inequal. Appl. 7 (2004) 245-254] and the authors Futamura and Mizuta [T. Futamura, Y. Mizuta, Sobolev embeddings for Riesz potential space of variable exponent, preprint]. As an application of the boundedness of maximal functions, we show Sobolev's inequality for Riesz potentials with variable exponent.  相似文献

Riesz basis analysis for a class of general second-order partial differential equation systems with nonseparated boundary conditions is conducted. Using the modern spectral analysis approach for parameterized ordinary differential operators, it is shown that the Riesz basis property holds for the general system if its associated characteristic equation is strongly regular. The Riesz basis property can then be readily established in a unified manner for many one-dimensional second-order systems such as linear string and beam equations with collocated or noncollocated boundary feedbacks and tip mass attached systems.
