Dual polar association schemes form an important family of association schemes, whose intersection numbers were computed in [Wan et al., Studies in Finite Geometry and the Construction of Incomplete Block Designs, Science Press, Beijing, 1966 (in Chinese)]. In this paper, we generalize the formulas for the intersection numbers, and introduce their applications to pooling designs, Cartesian authentication codes and vertex-transitive graphs.  相似文献

In this paper, a lower bound is determined in the minimax sense for change point estimators of the first derivative of a regression function in the fractional white noise model. Similar minimax results presented previously in the area focus on change points in the derivatives of a regression function in the white noise model or consider estimation of the regression function in the presence of correlated errors.  相似文献

Let I(n) be the number of involutions in a special orthogonal group SO(n,Fq) defined over a finite field with q elements, where q is the power of an odd prime. Then the numbers I(n) form a semi-recursion, in that for m>1 we haveI(2m+3)=(q2m+2+1)I(2m+1)+q2m(q2m−1)I(2m−2). We give a purely combinatorial proof of this result, and we apply it to give a universal bound for the character degree sum for finite classical groups defined over Fq.  相似文献

In the present article, we consider Algebraic Geometry codes on some rational surfaces. The estimate of the minimum distance is translated into a point counting problem on plane curves. This problem is solved by applying the upper bound à la Weil of Aubry and Perret together with the bound of Homma and Kim for plane curves. The parameters of several codes from rational surfaces are computed. Among them, the codes defined by the evaluation of forms of degree 3 on an elliptic quadric are studied. As far as we know, such codes have never been treated before. Two other rational surfaces are studied and very good codes are found on them. In particular, a [57,12,34] code over F7 and a [91,18,53] code over F9 are discovered, these codes beat the best known codes up to now.  相似文献

A classification method of self-dual codes over Zm is given. If m=rs with relatively prime integers r and s, then the classification can be accomplished by double coset decompositions of Sn by automorphism groups of self-dual codes over Zr and Zs. We classify self-dual codes of length 4 over Zp for all primes p in terms of their automorphism groups and then apply our method to classify self-dual codes over Zm for arbitrary integer m. Self-dual codes of length 8 are also classified over Zpq for p,q=2,3,5,7.  相似文献

Necessary and sufficient conditions for a g-valued differential 2-form on a 4-dimensional manifold to be, locally, a curvature form, are given. The dimension four is exceptional for the problem of prescribed curvature as, in this dimension, Bianchi's identities can be eliminated for a large class of Lie algebras, including semisimple algebras. Hence, the curvature forms are characterized as the solutions to a second-order partial differential system, which is proved to be formally integrable.  相似文献

A classic approach in dynamical systems is to use particular geometric structures to deduce statistical properties, for example the existence of invariant measures with stochastic-like behaviour such as large deviations or decay of correlations. Such geometric structures are generally highly non-trivial and thus a natural question is the extent to which this approach can be applied. In this paper we show that in many cases stochastic-like behaviour itself implies that the system has certain non-trivial geometric properties, which are therefore necessary as well as sufficient conditions for the occurrence of the statistical properties under consideration. As a by product of our techniques we also obtain some new results on large deviations for certain classes of systems which include Viana maps and multidimensional piecewise expanding maps.  相似文献

In this paper we obtain new bounds for the minimum output entropies of random quantum channels. These bounds rely on random matrix techniques arising from free probability theory. We then revisit the counterexamples developed by Hayden and Winter to get violations of the additivity equalities for minimum output Rényi entropies. We show that random channels obtained by randomly coupling the input to a qubit violate the additivity of the p-Rényi entropy, for all p>1. For some sequences of random quantum channels, we compute almost surely the limit of their Schatten S1Sp norms.  相似文献

We study scalar and symmetric 2-form valued universal curvature identities. We use this to establish the Gauss–Bonnet theorem using heat equation methods, to give a new proof of a result of Kuz?mina and Labbi concerning the Euler–Lagrange equations of the Gauss–Bonnet integral, and to give a new derivation of the Euh–Park–Sekigawa identity.  相似文献

We give a generalisation of Deligne–Lusztig varieties for general and special linear groups over finite quotients of the ring of integers in a non-archimedean local field. Previously, a generalisation was given by Lusztig by attaching certain varieties to unramified maximal tori inside Borel subgroups. In this paper we associate a family of so-called extended Deligne–Lusztig varieties to all tamely ramified maximal tori of the group.Moreover, we analyse the structure of various generalised Deligne–Lusztig varieties, and show that the “unramified” varieties, including a certain natural generalisation, do not produce all the irreducible representations in general. On the other hand, we prove results which together with some computations of Lusztig show that for SL2(Fq???/(?2)), with odd q, the extended Deligne–Lusztig varieties do indeed afford all the irreducible representations.  相似文献

A continuous resp. discrete r-dimensional (r1) system is the solution space of a system of linear partial differential resp. difference equations with constant coefficients for a vector of functions or distributions in r variables resp. of r-fold indexed sequences. Although such linear systems, both multidimensional and multivariable, have been used and studied in analysis and algebra for a long time, for instance by Ehrenpreis et al. thirty years ago, these systems have only recently been recognized as objects of special significance for system theory and for technical applications. Their introduction in this context in the discrete one-dimensional (r=1) case is due to J. C. Willems. The main duality theorem of this paper establishes a categorical duality between these multidimensional systems and finitely generated modules over the polynomial algebra in r indeterminates by making use of deep results in the areas of partial differential equations, several complex variables and algebra. This duality theorem makes many notions and theorems from algebra available for system theoretic considerations. This strategy is pursued here in several directions and is similar to the use of polynomial algebra in the standard one-dimensional theory, but mathematically more difficult. The following subjects are treated: input-output structures of systems and their transfer matrix, signal flow spaces and graphs of systems and block diagrams, transfer equivalence and (minimal) realizations, controllability and observability, rank singularities and their connection with the integral respresentation theorem, invertible systems, the constructive solution of the Cauchy problem and convolutional transfer operators for discrete systems. Several constructions on the basis of the Gröbner basis algorithms are executed. Our starting point has been a recent clarification of the role of semiholonomic contact elements in the theory of submanifolds of Cartan geometries, Kolá? and Vitolo (2010) [5]. We deduce some further properties of the iterated contact elements by using the general concept of contact (n,F)-element for a regular subcategory F of the category of nonholonomic r-jets. Special attention is paid to the incidence relation of contact F-elements of different dimensions.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the estimating problem of the partially linear regression models where the linear covariates are measured with additive errors. A difference based estimation is proposed to estimate the parametric component. We show that the resulting estimator is asymptotically unbiased and achieves the semiparametric efficiency bound if the order of the difference tends to infinity. The asymptotic normality of the resulting estimator is established as well. Compared with the corrected profile least squares estimation, the proposed procedure avoids the bandwidth selection. In addition, the difference based estimation of the error variance is also considered. For the nonparametric component, the local polynomial technique is implemented. The finite sample properties of the developed methodology is investigated through simulation studies. An example of application is also illustrated.  相似文献

In this paper, we characterize two entropic dynamical (ED) models from the viewpoint of information geometry and give the geometric structures of the associated statistical manifolds of the models. The scalar curvatures and the geodesics are obtained. Also the instability of entropic dynamical models is studied from the behavior of the geodesics lengths, statistical volume elements and Jacobi vector fields.  相似文献

We prove results about the intersection of the p-rank strata and the boundary of the moduli space of hyperelliptic curves in characteristic p?3. This yields a strong technique that allows us to analyze the stratum of hyperelliptic curves of genus g and p-rank f. Using this, we prove that the endomorphism ring of the Jacobian of a generic hyperelliptic curve of genus g and p-rank f is isomorphic to Z if g?4. Furthermore, we prove that the Z/?-monodromy of every irreducible component of is the symplectic group Sp2g(Z/?) if g?3, and ?p is an odd prime (with mild hypotheses on ? when f=0). These results yield numerous applications about the generic behavior of hyperelliptic curves of given genus and p-rank over finite fields, including applications about Newton polygons, absolutely simple Jacobians, class groups and zeta functions.  相似文献
