We consider a qubit symmetrically and transversely coupled to an XY spin chain with Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya(DM) interaction in the presence of a transverse magnetic field.An analytical expression for the geometric phase of the qubit is obtained in the weak coupling limit.We find that the modification of the geometrical phase induced by the spin chain environment is greatly enhanced by DM interaction in the weak coupling limit around the quantum phase transition point of the spin chain.  相似文献

A system of two coupled oscillators, each of them coupled to an independent reservoir, is analysed. The analytical solution of the non-rotating wave master equation is obtained in the high-temperature and weak coupling limits. No thermal entanglement is found in the high-temperature limit. In the weak coupling limit the system converges to an entangled non-equilibrium steady state. A critical temperature for the appearance of quantum correlations is found.  相似文献

We consider the weak coupling limit for a quantum system consisting of a small subsystem and reservoirs. It is known rigorously since [10] that the Heisenberg evolution restricted to the small system converges in an appropriate sense to a Markovian semigroup. In the nineties, Accardi, Frigerio and Lu [1] initiated an investigation of the convergence of the unreduced unitary evolution to a singular unitary evolution generated by a Langevin-Schrödinger equation. We present a version of this convergence which is both simpler and stronger than the formulations which we know. Our main result says that in an appropriately understood weak coupling limit the interaction of the small system with environment can be expressed in terms of the so-called quantum white noise.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the static dielectric function and interaction potential in strong coupling limit with AdS/CFT correspondence. The dielectric function is depressed compared with that in weak coupling. The interaction potential then presents a weaker screening characteristics in strong coupling, which indicates a smaller Debye mass compared with weak coupling.  相似文献

We calculate the infrared absorption of large polarons bound to defects in the weak coupling limit. Polar crystals with more than one longitudinal optical phonon branch coupled to the electrons are considered. Oscillator strengths corresponding to defect transitions without phonons and to transitions with emission of phonons are calculated using the Larsen wave-functions. The results are applied to infrared data in strontium titanate and it is found that weak coupling calculations are in better agreement than strong coupling ones.  相似文献

The lattice Schwinger model with SLAC fermions is analyzed with two methods: a Hartree-Fock calculation of the ground state wave function, and a weak coupling approximation involving a truncated SLAC derivative. It is shown that a Goldstone boson of chiral symmetry is actually present, but in the weak coupling limit it acquires infinite velocity.  相似文献

We study the simplest double scaling limit of the integral over a unitary matrix, shown by Periwal and Shevitz to admit an exact solution in terms of the mKdV hierarchy. We show that temporal shape modulations (pumping) of a quantum dot in the presence of spin-orbital coupling lead to a finite dc spin current. Depending on the strength of the spin-orbit coupling, the spin current is polarized perpendicular to the plane of the two-dimensional electron gas, or has an arbitrary direction subject to mesoscopic fluctuations. We analyze the statistics of the spin and charge currents in the adiabatic limit for the full crossover from weak to strong spin-orbit coupling.  相似文献

We consider the evolution of systems whose coupling to the heat bath is quadratic in the bath coordinates. Performing an explicit elimination of the bath variables we arrive at an equation of evolution for the system variables alone. In the weak coupling limit we show that the equation is of the generalized Langevin form, with fluctuations that are Gaussian and that obey a fluctuation-dissipation relation. If the system-bath coupling is linear in the system coordinates the resulting fluctuations are additive and the dissipation is linear. Assuming that the world-sheet sigma-model in the AdS/CFT correspondence is an integrable quantum field theory, we deduce that there might be new corrections to the spin-chain/string Bethe ansatz paradigm. These come from virtual particles propagating around the circumference of the cylinder and render Bethe ansatz quantization conditions only approximate. We determine the nature of these corrections both at weak and at strong coupling in the near-BMN limit, and find that the first corrections behave qualitatively as wrapping interactions at weak coupling.  相似文献

We consider a physical system which is coupled indirectly to a Markovian resevoir through an oscillator mode. This is the case, for example, in the usual model of an atomic sample in a leaky optical cavity which is ubiquitous in quantum optics. In the strong coupling limit the oscillator can be eliminated entirely from the model, leaving an effective direct coupling between the system an the resevoir. Here we provide a mathematically rigorous treatment of this limit as a weak limit of the time evolution and observables on a suitably chosen exponential domain in Fock space. The dynamics of the strong coupling BCS model, considered as an open system interacting with a thermal bath, is solved rigorously and explicitly in the weak coupling limit and in the infinite-volume limit. The BCS system goes from the normal phase to the ordered phase by bifurcation. Fluctuations around trajectories of intensive observables are Gaussian and Markovian. Thermodynamic phases are global attractors in the physical domain. Structural stability is discussed. The model provides an example of a nonequilibrium statistical mechanical system with phase transition whose irreversible macroscopic dynamics can be calculated exactly from the underlying Hamiltonian quantum mechanics.  相似文献

The shape of the vibrational envelope of an absorption band in the solution spectrum of a helical polymer is related to the shape of the corresponding band in the monomer. The approximation used is expected to be valid in both the strong and weak coupling limits. In the strong coupling limit it is shown that under certain conditions the polymer band consists of an extremely narrow peak shifted from the monomer line, as has been observed in the spectra of some cyanine dyes. The identification of this peak with absorption by a propagating exciton mode is supported by a calculation of the effective distance of excitation transfer as a function of coupling strength.  相似文献

In this paper we give an essentially self-contained account of some general structural properties of the dynamics of quantum open Markovian systems. We review some recent results regarding the problem of the classification of quantum Markovian master equations and the limiting conditions under which the dynamical evolution of a quantum open system obeys an exact semigroup law (weak coupling limit and singular coupling limit). We discuss a general form of quantum detailed balance and its relation to thermal relaxation and to microreversibility.  相似文献

We describe a mechanism for the production of polarization-entangled microwaves using intraband transitions in a pair of quantum dots. This proposal relies neither on spin-orbit coupling nor on control over electron-electron interactions. The quantum correlation of microwave polarizations is obtained from orbital degrees of freedom in an external magnetic field. We calculate the concurrence of emitted microwave photon pairs and show that a maximally entangled Bell pair is obtained in the limit of weak interdot coupling.  相似文献

The phase diagram of a dissipative particle in a periodic potential and a magnetic field is studied in the weak barrier limit and in the tight binding regime. For the case of half flux per plaquette, and for a wide range of values of the dissipation, the physics of the model is determined by a nontrivial fixed point. A combination of exact and variational results is used to characterize this fixed point. Finally, it is also argued that there is an intermediate energy scale that separates the weak coupling physics from the tight binding solution.  相似文献

The thermodynamic stability of odd-frequency pairing states is investigated within an Eliashberg-type framework. We find the rigorous result that in the weak coupling limit a continuous transition from the normal state to a spatially homogeneous odd-in-ω superconducting state is forbidden, irrespective of details of the pairing interaction and of the spin symmetry of the gap function. For isotropic systems, it is shown that the inclusion of strong coupling corrections does not invalidate this result. We discuss a few scenarios that might escape these thermodynamic constraints and permit stable odd-frequency pairing states.  相似文献
