In this paper, we give an approach for detecting one or more outliers inrandomized linear model The likelihood ratio test statistic and its distributions under the null hypothesis and the alternative bypothesis are given. Furthermore, the rebustneas of the test statistic in a certain sere is proved. Finally, the optimality properties of the test are derived.  相似文献

A trace test for the mean parameters of the growth curve model is proposed. It is constructed using the restricted maximum likelihood followed by an estimated likelihood ratio approach. The statistic reduces to the Lawley-Hotelling trace test for the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) models. Our test statistic is, therefore, a natural extension of the classical trace test to GMANOVA models. We show that the distribution of the test under the null hypothesis does not depend on the unknown covariance matrix Σ. We also show that the distributions under the null and alternative hypotheses can be represented as sums of weighted central and non-central chi-square random variables, respectively. Under the null hypothesis, the Satterthwaite approximation is used to get an approximate critical point. A novel Satterthwaite type approximation is proposed to obtain an approximate power. A simulation study is performed to evaluate the performance of our proposed test and numerical examples are provided as illustrations.  相似文献

Increasing convex order is one of important stochastic orderings. It is very often used in queueing theory, reliability, operations research and economics. This paper is devoted to studying the likelihood ratio test for increasing convex order in several populations against an unrestricted alternative. We derive the null asympotic distribution of the likelihood ratio test statistic, which is precisely the chi-bar-squared distribution. The methodology for computing critical values for the test is also discussed. The test is applied to an example involving data for survival time for carcinoma of the oropharynx.  相似文献

Limiting distributions of a score statistic and the likelihood ratio statistic for testing a composite hypothesis involving several parameters in non-ergodic type stochastic processes are obtained. It is shown that, unlike in the usual theory (ergodic type processes), the limiting distributions of these statistics are different both under the null and a contiguous sequence of alternative hypotheses. The results are applied to a regression model with explosive autoregressive Gaussian errors. In the discussion of this example a modified score statistic is suggested where the limiting null and non-null distributions are the same as those of the likelihood ratio statistic.  相似文献

We propose a score statistic to test the null hypothesis that the two-component density functions are equal under a semiparametric finite mixture model. The proposed score test is based on a partial empirical likelihood function under an I-sample semiparametric model. The proposed score statistic has an asymptotic chi-squared distribution under the null hypothesis and an asymptotic noncentral chi-squared distribution under local alternatives to the null hypothesis. Moreover, we show that the proposed score test is asymptotically equivalent to a partial empirical likelihood ratio test and a Wald test. We present some results on a simulation study.  相似文献

For a multinormal distribution with an unknown dispersion matrix, union-intersection (UI) tests for the mean against one-sided alternatives are considered. The null distribution of the UI test statistic is derived and its power monotonicity properties are studied. A Stain-type two-stage procedure is proposed to eliminate some of the inherent drawbacks of such tests. 概率分布间随机序在实践中已经得到了广泛的应用,而且似然比检验是用以检验涉及随机序问题的最普遍的检验方法.但是,关于多个多项式总体间的增凸序约束的统计推断问题并没有得到充分发展.多样本的增凸序对无约束的检验问题已被研究.然而,多总体的相等性对增凸序的假设检验问题似乎更有研究意义.并且分布的相等对随机序的假设检验问题往往是统计学家最为普遍地考虑.对多样本的情况,本文考虑了分布的相等对增凸序的假设检验问题,并且获得似然比检验统计量的零渐近分布,它是一组x~2分布随机变量的加权和,即■~2分布.  相似文献

A consistent test via the partial penalized empirical likelihood approach for the parametric hypothesis testing under the sparse case, called the partial penalized empirical likelihood ratio (PPELR) test, is proposed in this paper. Our results are demonstrated for the mean vector in multivariate analysis and regression coefficients in linear models, respectively. And we establish its asymptotic distributions under the null hypothesis and the local alternatives of order n?1/2 under regularity conditions. Meanwhile, the oracle property of the partial penalized empirical likelihood estimator also holds. The proposed PPELR test statistic performs as well as the ordinary empirical likelihood ratio test statistic and outperforms the full penalized empirical likelihood ratio test statistic in term of size and power when the null parameter is zero. Moreover, the proposed method obtains the variable selection as well as the p-values of testing. Numerical simulations and an analysis of Prostate Cancer data confirm our theoretical findings and demonstrate the promising performance of the proposed method in hypothesis testing and variable selection.  相似文献

Using a suitable decomposition of the null hypothesis of the sphericity test for several blocks of variables, into a sequence of conditionally independent null hypotheses, we show that it is possible to obtain the expressions for the likelihood ratio test statistic, for its hth null moment, and for the characteristic function of its logarithm. The exact distribution of the logarithm of the likelihood ratio test statistic is obtained in the form of a sum of a generalized integer gamma distribution with the sum of a given number of independent logbeta distributions, taking the form of a single generalized integer gamma distribution when each set of variables has two variables. The development of near‐exact distributions arises, from the previous decomposition of the null hypothesis and from the consequent‐induced factorization of the characteristic function, as a natural and practical way to approximate the exact distribution of the test statistic. A measure based on the exact and approximating characteristic functions, which gives an upper bound on the distance between the corresponding distribution functions, is used to assess the quality of the near‐exact distributions proposed and to compare them with an asymptotic approximation on the basis of Box's method. This paper investigates the asymptotic properties of the likelihood ratio statistic for testing homogeneity in a bivariate normal mixture model with known covariance. The asymptotic null distributions of the likelihood ratio statistic and a modified likelihood ratio statistic are obtained in explicit form. The distributions are identical. In this paper, we propose a bias-corrected empirical likelihood (BCEL) ratio to construct a goodness- of-fit test for generalized linear mixed models. BCEL test maintains the advantage of empirical likelihood that is self scale invariant and then does not involve estimating limiting variance of the test statistic to avoid deteri- orating power of test. Furthermore, the bias correction makes the limit to be a process in which every variable is standard chi-squared. This simple structure of the process enables us to construct a Monte Carlo test proce- dure to approximate the null distribution. Thus, it overcomes a problem we encounter when classical empirical likelihood test is used, as it is asymptotically a functional of Gaussian process plus a normal shift function. The complicated covariance function makes it difficult to employ any approximation for the null distribution. The test is omnibus and power study shows that the test can detect local alternatives approaching the null at parametric rate. Simulations are carried out for illustration and for a comparison with existing method.  相似文献

Berk and Jones (Z. Wahrsch. Verw. Gebiete 47 (1979) 47) described a nonparametric likelihood test of uniformity that is more efficient, in Bahadur's sense, than any weighted Kolmogorov-Smirnov test at any alternative. This article shows how to obtain a nonparametric likelihood test of a general parametric family for incomplete survival data. A nonparametric likelihood ratio test process is employed to measure the discrepancy between a parametric family and the observed data. Large sample properties of the likelihood ratio test process are studied under both the null and alternative hypotheses. A Monte Carlo simulation method is proposed to estimate its null distribution. We show how to produce a likelihood ratio graphical check as well as a formal test of a parametric family based on the developed theory. Our method is developed for the right-censorship model, but can be easily extended to some other survival models. Illustrations are given using both real and simulated data.  相似文献

Summary In this paper, the authors investigated the asymptotic distribution theory connected with the likelihood ratio test (LRT)-like test statistic for sphericity under correlated multivariate regression equations (CMRE) model. An asymptotic expression is obtained for the null distribution of the above test statistic. Asymptotic nonnull distribution of the above test statistic under fixed alternatives is also derived. The above results are derived when the underlying distribution is multivariate normal. It was also shown that the above results are valid even when the joint distribution of the observations is elliptically symmetric. The authors also derived the asymptotic null distribution of the LRT-like test statistic when the observations on each variable are elliptically symmetric. The asymptotic expansion of the distribution of the gradient test statistic is derived for a composite hypothesis under a sequence of Pitman alternative hypotheses converging to the null hypothesis at rate n −1/2, n being the sample size. Comparisons of the local powers of the gradient, likelihood ratio, Wald and score tests reveal no uniform superiority property.
