Chromatographic retention data were measured for a wide range of organic solutes on 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium tetracyanoborate ([BMPyrr]+[B(CN)4]?) and 1-butyl-1-methyl-piperidinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([BMPip]+[Tf2N]?) stationary phases at 323 K and 353 K. The measured retention factors were combined with published infinite dilution activity coefficient and gas-to-water partition coefficient data to yield gas-to-anhydrous ionic liquid (IL) and water-to-anhydrous IL partition coefficients. Both sets of partition coefficients were analyzed using the Abraham model. The derived Abraham model correlations describe the observed gas-to-IL (log10 K) and water-to-IL (log10 P) partition coefficient data to within average standard deviations of about 0.10 and 0.15 log10 units, respectively.  相似文献

The synthesis of tris(pentafluoroethyl)germanium derivatives is described. The reaction of germanium tetrachloride with three equivalents of the pentafluoroethylation reagent LiC2F5 does not lead selectively to the formation of tris(pentafluoroethyl)chlorogermane, (C2F5)3GeCl. Here the introduction of a diethylamino function as a protecting group was beneficial. Thus, treatment of Cl3GeNEt2 with LiC2F5 smoothly afforded (C2F5)3GeNEt2. The replacement of the amino substituent by halides was accomplished by reaction with HBr or HCl on a multigram scale. The combination of (C2F5)3GeCl with Ag2CO3 gave rise to the formation of the digermoxane [(C2F5)3Ge]2O. An obtuse Ge‐O‐Ge angle of 150.2(1)° was determined by X‐ray diffraction. Attempted hydrolysis of the digermoxane leads to an equilibrium mixture of the precursor, (C2F5)3GeOH, and water.  相似文献

The structure and dynamics of the interfacial layers between the extremely pure air- and water-stable ionic liquid 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium tris(pentafluoroethyl)trifluorophosphate and Au(111) has been investigated using in situ scanning tunneling microscopy, cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy measurements. The in situ scanning tunnelling microscopy measurements reveal that the Au(111) surface undergoes a reconstruction, and at -1.2 V versus Pt quasi-reference the famous (22 × √3) herringbone superstructure is probed. Atomic force microscopy measurements show that multiple ion pair layers are present at the ionic liquid/Au interface which are dependent on the electrode potential. Upon applying cathodic electrode potentials, stronger ionic liquid near surface structure is detected: both the number of near surface layers and the force required to rupture these layers increases. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results reveal that three distinct processes take place at the interface. The fastest process is capacitive in its low-frequency limit and is identified with electrochemical double layer formation. The differential electrochemical double layer capacitance exhibits a local maximum at -0.2 V versus Pt quasi-reference, which is most likely caused by changes in the orientation of cations in the innermost layer. In the potential range between -0.84 V and -1.04 V, a second capacitive process is observed which is slower than electrochemical double layer formation. This process seems to be related to the herringbone reconstruction. In the frequency range below 1 Hz, the onset of an ultraslow faradaic process is found. This process becomes faster when the electrode potential is shifted to more negative potentials.  相似文献

Voltammetry of manganese tetraphenylporphyrinato chloride in trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium tris(pentafluoroethyl)trifluorophosphate solution in toluene reveals its unexpectedly low diffusion coefficient. UV‐vis spectra confirm significant Cl? exchange with large phosphate anion at the axial position of the complex. Experiments performed with a glassy carbon electrode covered by a liquid film of the same solution and immersed in an aqueous electrolyte solution show a peak potential dependence on the nature and concentration of the aqueous electrolyte anion described by a Nernst type equation. Electron transfer is followed by anion expulsion where the anion effect results from the lability of the axial coordination site of the porphyrin and from spontaneous ion exchange.  相似文献

Ionic liquids (ILs) containing the tris(pentafluoroethyl)trifluorophosphate anion [FAP] have attracted increased attention due to their unique properties including ultrahigh hydrophobicity, hydrolytic stability, and wide electrochemical window. In this study, the solvation parameter model is used via gas chromatography to characterize the solvation interactions of seven ILs containing amino, ester, and hydroxyl functional groups appended to the cation and paired with [FAP], as well as three ILs containing the bis[(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl]imide anion [NTf2]. The role of the functional groups, nature of the counter anion, and cation type on the system constants were evaluated. ILs containing [FAP] possessed lower hydrogen bond basicity than NTf2-based ILs having the same cationic component; in the case of hydroxyl-functionalized cations, the presence of [FAP] led to an enhancement of the hydrogen bond acidity, relative to the NTf2-analogs. The system constants support the argument that [FAP] weakly coordinates the cation and any appended functional groups, promoting properties of the cation which might be masked by stronger interactions with other anion systems. The chromatographic performance of the IL stationary phases was evaluated by examining the retention behavior and separation selectivity for chosen analytes. The results from this work can be used as a guide for choosing FAP-based ILs capable of exhibiting desired solvation properties while retaining important physical properties including high thermal stability and high hydrophobicity. Gas–liquid chromatographic retention factors have been measured for 42 different organic probes on a 2-methoxyethyl(dimethyl)ethylammonium tris(pentafluoroethyl)trifluorophosphate, ([MeoeM2EAm]+[FAP]), stationary phase capillary column at 323 and 353 K. The measured retention factors were combined with published gas-to-liquid partition coefficient data for solutes dissolved in ([MeoeM2EAm]+[FAP]) and with published gas-to-water partition coefficient data to yield 107 gas-to-anhydrous ionic liquid and 105 water-to-anhydrous ionic liquid partition coefficients. Abraham model correlations for describing solute transfer into ([MeoeM2EAm]+[FAP]) were derived from the three sets of experimental partition coefficient data. The derived correlations back-calculated the experimental gas-to-([MeoeM2EAm]+[FAP]) and water-to-([MeoeM2EAm]+[FAP]) partition coefficient data to within 0.13 and 0.15 log units, respectively.  相似文献

The research area of perfluoroalkylsilanes is still in its infancy. Although there are already many examples of difluorotriorganylsilicates, the first example of a completely characterized trifluorotriorganylsilicate is presented, the dianion [Si(C2F5)3F3]2?. The strongly electron‐withdrawing influence of the pentafluoroethyl groups appears to be a fundamental cause of the stability of this compound. This dianion is also the first structurally characterized example of a tris(pentafluoroethyl)silicon compound. The synthesis and complete characterization of [PPh4]2[Si(C2F5)3F3] and [PPh4][Si(C2F5)3F2] along with the precursor [H(OEt2)2][Si(C2F5)3F2] was achieved from SiCl4 and LiC2F5.  相似文献

Experimental air–liquid interfacial tension data and density data are presented for three 1-Cn-3-methylimidazolium tris(pentafluoroethyl)trifluorophosphates (FAP), [CnMIM][(C2F5)3PF3], with n = 2, 4, and 6, measured at atmospheric pressure in the temperature range from 267 K to 360 K using the Krűss K100MK2 tensiometer. The accuracy of the surface tension measurements was checked by employing the Wilhelmy plate and the du Noüy ring methods in parallel. The combined standard uncertainty associated with the Wilhelmy plate method is estimated to be ±0.1 mN · m−1. The density data were obtained using buoyancy method with an estimated standard uncertainty less then ±0.4 kg · m−3 (3 · 10−4ϱ). The chloride anions decrease the density of the tris(pentafluoroethyl)trifluorophosphates of interest up to six times more effectively than they decrease the density of the imidazolium based tetrafluoroborates. A QSPR analysis of the surface tension of imidazolium based ionic liquids with BF4, TFA, DCA, FAP, NTf2, and PF6 anions indicates, that the FAP ionic liquids fit well into the analyzed group of imidazolium based ionic liquids while those having hexafluorophosphate anion show anomalously high deviations of the experimental surface tension from the values predicted by the QSPR model.  相似文献

A new strategy is proposed here to formulate a bis(2-ethyl-1-hexyl)sulfosuccinate (AOT?) stabilized water-in-ionic liquid microemulsion without any additives. Replacing the inorganic counter ion Na+ by the organic 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium ([Bmim]+) ion greatly improves the solubility of AOT? in hydrophobic 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([Bmim]Tf2N) (IL) and favors the formation of water-in-IL (W/IL) microdroplets. The existence of the W/IL microdroplets has been confirmed by dynamic light scattering, Fourier transform infrared absorption spectroscopy and ultraviolet–visible absorption spectroscopy. Also, presented for the first time are the effects of salts and alcohols on the microstructure and water solubilization capacity of the ternary H2O/[Bmim]AOT/[Bmim]Tf2N system. For inorganic salts, larger concentrations of the salt and higher charge density of the cation result in smaller microdroplet size and weak water solubilization capacity. For 1-hexanol, a high concentration of this alcohol results in small microdroplet size but high water solubilization capacity. Analyses indicate that the salts compress the electric double layers of W/IL microemulsions, decrease the size of the microdroplets and consequently reduce the water solubilization capacity; the alcohol, however, facilitates the aggregation of AOT?, increases the number of W/IL microdroplets, and therefore improves the water solubilization capacity of the system.  相似文献

While perfluorinated aryl, aryloxy and alkoxy aluminum species are well-established as weakly coordinating anions (WCAs), corresponding perfluoroalkyl aluminum derivatives are virtually unknown. Reaction of Si(C2F5)3CH3 with Li[AlH4] afforded the tetrakis(pentafluoroethyl)aluminate, [Al(C2F5)4]. Several salts of the [Al(C2F5)4] ion were synthesized and characterized by NMR spectroscopic methods, mass spectrometry, X-ray diffraction studies and elemental analysis.  相似文献

Photochemical ring substitution of the N-trifluoroacetyl derivatives of histamine and of L-histidine methyl ester by pentafluoroethyl radical provides the corresponding 2- and 4-pentafluoroethylated products in yields of 19% and 27%, respectively. Alkaline hydrolysis converts the 2-pentafluoroethyl group to trifluoroacetyl. The reaction mechanism, involving a diazafulvene intermediate, is analogous to that elucidated for (trifluoromethyl)imidazoles; however, the pentafluoroethyl group is markedly more reactive to hydrolysis than the trifluoromethyl group. For imidazole derivatives, the ratio of reactivities is 75 at C-2 and 40 at C-4. The hydrolysis of 4-(pentafluoroethyl)histamine affords the bicyclic product, 4-(trifluoromethyl)-6,7-dihydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]-pyridine in 65.4% yield.  相似文献
