The objective of the work presented in this paper is an attempt at solving and transforming of the known from the classical mechanics two dimensional-plane single mass mechanical and mathematical vibration models in a higher order dimensional space with any virtual sectional curvature-positive or negative, constant or variable. A characterization of the Riemannian manifolds is performed by means of curvature operators. The computer codes Mathematica and MATLAB are used in the numerical simulation. The objects of the investigation are a sphere – with a positive constant sectional curvature, a cylinder-with a zero constant sectional curvature, helicoid-with a negative variable sectional curvature, a torus-with a variable (±) sectional curvature, any virtual surface of second order-with a variable (±) sectional curvature, pseudo-sphere – with a negative constant sectional curvature and a saddle-with a negative variable sectional curvature. The system motion is investigated in a qualitative aspect in time and frequency domain on the cited surfaces. The common algorithm derived in the paper can transform any motion from 3D space to curved manifold. We can derive the trajectory in an explicit form on the curved manifold. We can change the trajectory by a suitable variation of the curved manifold.  相似文献

Compact Hermitian surfaces of constant antiholomorphic sectional curvatures with respect to the Riemannian curvature tensor and with respect to the Hermitian curvature tensor are considered. It is proved: a compact Hermitian surface of constant antiholomorphic Riemannian sectional curvatures is a self-dual Kaehler surface; a compact Hermitian surface of constant antiholomorphic Hermitian sectional curvatures is either a Kaehler surface of constant (non-zero) holomorphic sectional curvatures or a conformally flat Hermitian surface.

In this paper, we show that a generalized Sasakian space form of dimension >3 is either of constant sectional curvature, or a canal hypersurface in Euclidean or Minkowski spaces, or locally a certain type of twisted product of a real line and a flat almost Hermitian manifold, or locally a warped product of a real line and a generalized complex space form, or an \({\alpha}\)-Sasakian space form, or it is of five dimension and admits an \({\alpha}\)-Sasakian Einstein structure. In particular, a local classification for generalized Sasakian space forms of dimension >5 is obtained. A local classification of Riemannian manifolds of quasi constant sectional curvature of dimension >3 is also given in this paper.  相似文献

S.-Y. Cheng, P. Li and S.-T. Yau proved comparison theoremsfor the volume of extrinsic balls in minimal submanifolds ofspace forms. These results were extended by S. Markvorsen forminimal submanifolds of a riemannian manifold with just an upperbound on the sectional curvature. In the paper an isoperimetricinequality for extrinsic balls in minimal submanifolds of ariemannian manifold N with sectional curvatures bounded fromabove by a non-positive constant is found. As a corollary ofthis result an alternative proof is obtained of the comparisonfor the volume of extrinsic balls stated by the preceding authors,but now the equality case is characterized when the upper boundfor the sectional curvatures of the ambient manifold is strictlynegative. Finally, when the sectional curvatures of N are boundedfrom above for any constant (positive or negative), it is provedthat the -isoperimetric quotient of the extrinsic balls is boundedfrom below by the mean curvature of the geodesic spheres inthe m-dimensional real space forms.  相似文献

In this note we prove the equivalence of the pointwise constancy and the global constancy of the holomorphic sectional curvature of a K-space. A criterion for the constancy of the holomorphic sectional curvature of a K-space is found. It is proved that every proper K-space of constant holomorphic sectional curvature is a six-dimensional orientable Riemannian manifold of constant positive curvature, which is isometric with the six-dimensional sphere in the case of completeness and connectedness.Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 19, No. 5, pp. 805–814, May, 1976.In conclusion I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to A. This note describes an observation connecting Riemannian manifolds of constant sectional curvature with a particular class of Lie superalgebras. Specifically, it is shown that the structural equations of a space M with constant sectional curvature, of one variety or another, nearly coincide with some identities satisfied by tensors which can be used to construct some specific families of Lie superalgebras. In this article we study properly discontinuous actions on Hilbert manifolds giving new examples of complete Hilbert manifolds with nonnegative, respectively nonpositive, sectional curvature with infinite fundamental group. We also get examples of complete infinite dimensional Kähler manifolds with positive holomorphic sectional curvature and infinite fundamental group in contrastwith the finite dimensional case and we classify abelian groups acting linearly, isometrically and properly discontinuously on Stiefel manifolds. The main goal of this paper is to present results of existence and nonexistence of convex functions on Riemannian manifolds, and in the case of the existence, we associate such functions to the geometry of the manifold. Precisely, we prove that the conservativity of the geodesic flow on a Riemannian manifold with infinite volume is an obstruction to the existence of convex functions. Next, we present a geometric condition that ensures the existence of (strictly) convex functions on a particular class of complete manifolds, and we use this fact to construct a manifold whose sectional curvature assumes any real value greater than a negative constant and admits a strictly convex function. In the last result, we relate the geometry of a Riemannian manifold of positive sectional curvature with the set of minimum points of a convex function defined on the manifold.  相似文献

We study a class of Riemannian almost product metrics on the tangent bundle of a smooth manifold. This class includes the Sasaki and Cheeger-Gromoll metrics as special cases. For this class of metrics, we find the dependence of the scalar curvature of the tangent bundle on objects of the base manifold. For the case in which the base manifold is a space of constant sectional curvature, we obtain conditions on the metric and the dimension of the base under which the scalar curvature of the tangent bundle is constant. For special cases of metrics of the class considered, we find the intervals on which the scalar curvature of the tangent bundle treated as a function of the sectional curvature of the base has constant sign.  相似文献
