In this paper we are concerned about a singular boundary value problem for a quasilinear second-order ordinary differential equation, involving the one-dimensional pp-laplacian. Asymptotic expansions of the one-parameter families of solutions, satisfying the prescribed boundary conditions, are obtained in the neighborhood of the singular points and this enables us to compute numerical solutions using stable shooting methods.  相似文献

The particular motivation of this work is to develop a computational method to calculate exact and analytic approximate solutions to singular strongly nonlinear initial or boundary value problems of Lane–Emden–Fowler type which model many phenomena in mathematical physics and astrophysics. A powerful algorithm is proposed based on the series representation of the solution via suitable base functions. The utilization of such functions converts the solution of a given nonlinear differential equation to the solution of algebraic equations. Error analysis and convergence of the method is presented. Comparisons with the other methods reveal validity, applicability and great potential of the method. Several physical problems are treated to illustrative the good performance and high accuracy of the technique.  相似文献

In this paper, approximate and/or exact analytical solutions of singular initial value problems (IVPs) of the Emden–Fowler type in the second-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are obtained by the homotopy analysis method (HAM). The HAM solutions contain an auxiliary parameter which provides a convenient way of controlling the convergence region of the series solutions. It is shown that the solutions obtained by the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) and the homotopy-perturbation method (HPM) are only special cases of the HAM solutions.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the property of the positive solutions for Sturm–Liouville singular boundary value problems with the linear conditions. We obtain a relation between the solutions and Green’s function. It implies a necessary condition for the C1[0,1]C1[0,1] positive solutions. We apply the result to conclude that the given equation has no C1[0,1]C1[0,1] positive solutions.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the existence of positive solution for some semilinear elliptic equations with Neumann boundary condition involving a critical Hardy–Sobolev exponent and Hardy terms with boundary singularities. We consider the following anisotropic Emden–Fowler equation where is a bounded smooth domain and a(x) is a positive smooth function. We investigate the effect of anisotropic coefficient a(x) on the existence of bubbling solutions. We show that at given local maximum points of a(x), there exists arbitrarily many bubbles. As a consequence, the quantity can approach to as . These results show a striking difference with the isotropic case [ Constant].  相似文献
