In this paper, we present a smoothing homotopy method for solving ball-constrained variational inequalities by utilizing a similar Chen-Harker-Kanzow-Smale function to smooth Robinson’s normal equation. Without any monotonicity condition on the defining map F, for the starting point chosen almost everywhere in Rn, the existence and convergence of the homotopy pathway are proven. Numerical experiments illustrate that the method is feasible and effective.  相似文献

In this paper, using the Gabriel–Moré smoothing function of the median function, a smooth homotopy method for solving nonsmooth equation reformulation of bounded box constrained variational inequality problem VIP(l,u,Fl,u,F) is given. Without any monotonicity condition on the defining map FF, for starting point chosen almost everywhere in RnRn, existence and convergence of the homotopy pathway are proven. Nevertheless, it is also proven that, if the starting point is chosen to be an interior point of the box, the proposed homotopy method can also serve as an interior point method.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a two-stage prediction–correction method for solving monotone variational inequalities. The method generates the two predictors which should satisfy two acceptance criteria. We also enhance the method with an adaptive rule to update prediction step size which makes the method more effective. Under mild assumptions, we prove the convergence of the proposed method. Our proposed method based on projection only needs the function values, so it is practical and the computation load is quite tiny. Some numerical experiments were carried out to validate its efficiency and practicality.  相似文献

In this paper, a new algorithm for tracing the combined homotopy path of the non-convex nonlinear programming problem is proposed. The algorithm is based on the techniques of ββ-cone neighborhood and a combined homotopy interior point method. The residual control criteria, which ensures that the obtained iterative points are interior points, is given by the condition that ensures the ββ-cone neighborhood to be included in the interior part of the feasible region. The global convergence and polynomial complexity are established under some hypotheses.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a smoothing-type algorithm with a nonmonotone line search for solving a system of equalities and inequalities. We prove that the nonmonotone algorithm is globally and locally superlinearly convergent under suitable assumptions. The preliminary numerical results are reported.  相似文献

In this paper, we suggest and analyze an inexact implicit method with a variable parameter for mixed variational inequalities by using a new inexactness restriction. Under certain conditions, the global convergence of the proposed method is proved. Some preliminary computational results are given to illustrate the efficiency of the new inexactness restriction. The results proved in this paper may be viewed as improvement and refinement of the previously known results.  相似文献

In some real-world problems, the mapping of the variational inequalities does not have any explicit forms and only the function value can be evaluated or observed for given variables. In this case, if the mapping is co-coercive, the basic projection method is applicable. However, in order to determine the step size, the existing basic projection method needs to know the co-coercive modulus in advance. In practice, usually even if the mapping can be characterized co-coercive, it is difficult to evaluate the modulus, and a conservative estimation will lead an extremely slow convergence. In view of this point, this paper presents a self-adaptive projection method without knowing the co-coercive modulus. We also give a real-life example to demonstrate the practicability of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and consider a new class of variational inequalities, which are called the nonconvex variational inequalities. Using the projection technique, we suggest and analyze an extragradient method for solving the nonconvex variational inequalities. We show that the extragradient method is equivalent to an implicit iterative method, the convergence of which requires only pseudo-monotonicity, a weaker condition than monotonicity. This clearly improves on the previously known result. Our method of proof is very simple as compared with other techniques.  相似文献

The alternating directions method (ADM) is an effective method for solving a class of variational inequalities (VI) when the proximal and penalty parameters in sub-VI problems are properly selected. In this paper, we propose a new ADM method which needs to solve two strongly monotone sub-VI problems in each iteration approximately and allows the parameters to vary from iteration to iteration. The convergence of the proposed ADM method is proved under quite mild assumptions and flexible parameter conditions. This paper aims at presenting an improved Goldstein's type method for a class of variant variational inequalities. In particular, the iterate computed by an existing Goldstein's type method [He, A Goldstein's type projection method for a class of variant variational inequalities J. Comput. Math. 17(4) (1999) 425–434]. is used to construct a descent direction, and thus the new method generates the new iterate by searching the optimal step size along the descent direction. Some restrictions on the involving functions of the existing Goldstein's type methods are relaxed, while the global convergence of the new method is proved without additional assumptions. The computational superiority of the new method is verified by the comparison to some existing methods.  相似文献

Variational inequalities associated with monotone operators (possibly nonlinear and multivalued) and convex sets (possibly unbounded) are studied in reflexive Banach spaces. A variety of results are given which relate to a stability concept involving a natural parameter. These include characterizations useful as criteria for stable existence of solutions and also several characterizations of surjectivity. This paper proposes a descent method to solve a class of structured monotone variational inequalities. The descent directions are constructed from the iterates generated by a prediction-correction method [B.S. He, Y. Xu, X.M. Yuan, A logarithmic-quadratic proximal prediction-correction method for structured monotone variational inequalities, Comput. Optim. Appl. 35 (2006) 19-46], which is based on the logarithmic-quadratic proximal method. In addition, the optimal step-sizes along these descent directions are identified to accelerate the convergence of the new method. Finally, some numerical results for solving traffic equilibrium problems are reported.  相似文献

A new smoothing quasi-Newton method for nonlinear complementarity problems is presented. The method is a generalization of Thomas’ method for smooth nonlinear systems and has similar properties as Broyden's method. Local convergence is analyzed for a strictly complementary solution as well as for a degenerate solution. Presented numerical results demonstrate quite similar behavior of Thomas’ and Broyden's methods.  相似文献

Signomial geometric programming (SGP) has been an interesting problem for many authors recently. Many methods have been provided for finding locally optimal solutions of SGP, but little progress has been made for global optimization of SGP. In this paper we propose a new accelerating method for global optimization algorithm of SGP using a suitable deleting technique. This technique offers a possibility to cut away a large part of the currently investigated region in which the globally optimal solution of SGP does not exist, and can be seen as an accelerating device for global optimization algorithm of SGP problem. Compared with the method of Shen and Zhang [Global optimization of signomial geometric programming using linear relaxation, Appl. Math. Comput. 150 (2004) 99–114], numerical results show that the computational efficiency is improved obviously by using this new technique in the number of iterations, the required saving list length and the execution time of the algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and consider a new system of general variational inequalities involving four different operators. Using the projection operator technique, we suggest and analyze some new explicit iterative methods for this system of variational inequalities. We also study the convergence analysis of the new iterative method under certain mild conditions. Since this new system includes the system of variational inequalities involving three operators, variational inequalities and related optimization problems as special cases, results obtained in this paper continue to hold for these problems. Our results can be viewed as a refinement and improvement of the previously known results for variational inequalities.  相似文献

It is well known that the general variational inequalities are equivalent to the fixed point problems and the Wiener-Hopf equations. In this paper, we use these alternative equivalent formulations to suggest and analyze some new self-adaptive iterative methods for solving the general variational inequalities. Our results can be viewed as a significant extension of the previously known results for variational inequalities. An example is given to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method.  相似文献

Optimal control of various variational problems has been an area of active research. On the other hand, in recent years many important models in mechanics and economics have been formulated as multi-valued quasi variational inequalities. The primary objective of this work is to study optimal control of the general nonlinear problems of this type. Under suitable conditions, we ensure the existence of an optimal control for a quasi variational inequality with multivalued pseudo-monotone maps. Convergence behavior of the control is studied when the data for the state quasi variational inequality is contaminated by some noise. Some possible applications are discussed.  相似文献

Jacobian smoothing Brown’s method for nonlinear complementarity problems (NCP) is studied in this paper. This method is a generalization of classical Brown’s method. It belongs to the class of Jacobian smoothing methods for solving semismooth equations. Local convergence of the proposed method is proved in the case of a strictly complementary solution of NCP. Furthermore, a locally convergent hybrid method for general NCP is introduced. Some numerical experiments are also presented.  相似文献

Solving a variational inequality problem is equivalent to finding a solution of a system of nonsmooth equations. Recently, we proposed an implicit method, which solves monotone variational inequality problem via solving a series of systems of nonlinear smooth (whenever the operator is smooth) equations. It can exploit the facilities of the classical Newton–like methods for smooth equations. In this paper, we extend the method to solve a class of general variational inequality problems Moreover, we improve the implicit method to allow inexact solutions of the systems of nonlinear equations at each iteration.
