We obtain regularity criteria for a quasi-geostrophic equation that depends more on one direction than the others. In particular, we show that in the critical case, the global regularity depends only on a partial derivative rather than a gradient of the solution.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a double fronts free boundary problem for the heat equation with a localized nonlinear reaction term. The local existence and uniqueness of the solution are given by applying the contraction mapping theorem. Then we present some conditions so that the solution blows up in finite time. Finally, the long-time behavior of the global solution is discussed. We show that the solution is global and fast if the initial data is small and that a global slow solution is possible when the initial data is suitably large.  相似文献

We study the large time behavior of solutions of a one-dimensional hyperbolic relaxation system that may be written as a nonlinear damped wave equation. First, we prove the global existence of a unique solution and their decay properties for sufficiently small initial data. We also show that for some large initial data, solutions blow-up in finite time. For quadratic nonlinearities, we prove that the large time behavior of solutions is given by the fundamental solution of the viscous Burgers equation. In some other cases, the convection term is too weak and the large time behavior is given by the linear heat kernel.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global existence and the asymptotic behavior of classical solution of the Cauchy problem for quasilinear hyperbolic system with constant multiple and linearly degenerate characteristic fields. We prove that the global C1 solution exists uniquely if the BV norm of the initial data is sufficiently small. Based on the existence result on the global classical solution, we show that, when the time t tends to the infinity, the solution approaches a combination of C1 traveling wave solutions. Finally, we give an application to the equation for time-like extremal surfaces in the Minkowski space-time R1+n.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a weakly dissipative Dullin–Gottwald–Holm equation from the viewpoint of Lie symmetry analysis. We first perform symmetry analysis and the nonlinear self-adjointness of this equation. Due to a mixed derivatives term in the equation, we need to rewrite the corresponding form Lagrangian in symmetric form to construct conservation laws. From the viewpoint, we present a general procedure of how these conserved quantities come about. Based on these conserved quantities, blow-up analysis and global existence of strong solutions are presented. Finally, we show that this equation admits a weak peakon-type solution.  相似文献

We prove the global existence of the so-called H2 solutions for a nonlinear wave equation with a nonlinear dissipative term and a derivative type nonlinear perturbation. To show the boundedness of the second order derivatives we need a precise energy decay estimate and for this we employ a ‘loan’ method.  相似文献

We study the global existence and asymptotic behavior in time of solutions to the Korteweg-de Vries type equation called as “Hirota” equation. This equation is a mixture of cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation and modified Korteweg-de Vries equation. We show the unique existence of the solution for this equation which tends to the given “modified” free profile by using the two asymptotic formulae for some oscillatory integrals.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a semilinear equation with a generalized Wentzell boundary condition. We prove the local well-posedness of the problem and derive the conditions of the global existence of the solution and the conditions for finite time blow-up. We also derive an estimate for the blow-up time.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider an initial–boundary value problem to a riser vibrating with dissipative term in the equation. It is proved that under suitable conditions that the solution with a negative initial energy blows up in finite time. And we show that the solution with a nonnegative initial energy is global.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a doubly degenerate parabolic equation with logistic periodic sources. We are interested in the discussion of the asymptotic behavior of solutions of the initial-boundary value problem. In this paper, we first establish the existence of non-trivial nonnegative periodic solutions by a monotonicity method. Then by using the Moser iterative method, we obtain an a priori upper bound of the nonnegative periodic solutions, by means of which we show the existence of the maximum periodic solution and asymptotic bounds of the nonnegative solutions of the initial-boundary value problem. We also prove that the support of the non-trivial nonnegative periodic solution is independent of time.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider initial boundary value problem of the generalized Boussinesq equation with nonlinear interior source and boundary absorptive terms. We establish firstly the local existence of solutions by standard Galerkin method. Then we prove both the global existence of the solution and a general decay of the energy functions under some restrictions on the initial data. We also prove a blow-up result for solutions with positive and negative initial energy respectively.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish the global existence and stability of a steady conic shock wave for the symmetrically perturbed supersonic flow past an infinitely long conic body as long as the vertex angle is less than a critical value. The flow is assumed to be polytropic, isentropic and described by a steady potential equation. Based on the delicate asymptotic expansion of the background solution, one can verify that the boundary conditions on the shock and the conic surface satisfy the “dissipative” property. From this property, by use of the reflected characteristics method and the special form of the shock equation, we show that the conic shock attached at the vertex of the cone exists globally in the whole space when the speed of the supersonic coming flow is appropriately large. On the other hand, we remove the smallness restriction on the sharp vertex angle in order to establish the global existence of a shock or a global weak solution, moreover, our proof approach is different from that in [Shuxing Chen, Zhouping Xin, Huicheng Yin, Global shock wave for the supersonic flow past a perturbed cone, Comm. Math. Phys. 228 (2002) 47-84] and [Zhouping Xin, Huicheng Yin, Global multidimensional shock wave for the steady supersonic flow past a three-dimensional curved cone, Anal. Appl. 4 (2) (2006) 101-132].  相似文献

We study the Ginzburg-Landau equation with magnetic effect in a thin domain in , where the thickness of the domain is controlled by a parameter . This equation is an Euler equation of a free energy functional and it has trivial solutions that are minimizers of the functional. In this article we look for a nontrivial stable solution to the equation, that is, a local minimizer of the energy functional. To prove the existence of such a stable solution in , we consider a reduced problem as and a nondegenerate stable solution to the reduced equation. Applying the standard variational argument, we show that there exists a stable solution in near the solution to the reduced equation if is sufficiently small. We also present a specific example of a domain which allows a stable vortex solution, that is, a stable solution with zeros. In this paper, a bipolar transient quantum hydrodynamic model (BQHD) for charge density, current density and electric field is considered on the one-dimensional real line. This model takes the form of the classical Euler-Poisson system with additional dispersion caused by the quantum (Bohn) potential. We investigate the long-time behavior of the BQHD model and show the asymptotical self-similarity property of the global smooth solution. Namely, both of the charge densities tend to a nonlinear diffusion wave in large time, which is not a solution to the BQHD equation, but to the combined quasi-neutral, relaxation and semiclassical limiting model. Next, as a by-product, we can compare the large-time behavior of the bipolar quantum hydrodynamic models and of the corresponding classical bipolar hydrodynamic models. As far as we know, the nonlinear diffusion phenomena about the 1D BQHD is new.  相似文献

Nonlinear stability of nonlinear periodic solutions of the regularized Benjamin-Ono equation and the Benjamin-Bona-Mahony equation with respect to perturbations of the same wavelength is analytically studied. These perturbations are shown to be stable. We also develop a global well-posedness theory for the regularized Benjamin-Ono equation in the periodic and in the line setting. In particular, we show that the Cauchy problem (in both periodic and nonperiodic case) cannot be solved by an iteration scheme based on the Duhamel formula for negative Sobolev indices.  相似文献

In this work we consider the first boundary value problem for a parabolic equation of second order with a small parameter on a half-axis (i.e., we consider the one-dimensional case). We take the zero initial condition. We construct the global (that is, the caustic points are taken into account) asymptotics of a solution for the boundary value problem. The asymptotic solution of this problem has a different structure depending on the sign of the coefficient (the drift coefficient) at the derivative of first order at a boundary point. The constructed asymptotic solutions are justified.  相似文献

We consider a semilinear parabolic equation subject to a nonlinear dynamical boundary condition that is related to the so-called Wentzell boundary condition. First we prove the existence and uniqueness of global solutions as well as the existence of a global attractor. Then we derive a suitable ?ojasiewicz-Simon type inequality to show the convergence of global solutions to single steady states as time tends to infinity under the assumption that the nonlinear terms f,g are real analytic. Moreover, we provide an estimate for the convergence rate.  相似文献

We study the domain of existence of a solution to a Riemann problem for the pressure gradient equation in two space dimensions. The Riemann problem is the expansion of a quadrant of gas of constant state into the other three vacuum quadrants. The global existence of a smooth solution was established in Dai and Zhang [Z. Dai, T. Zhang, Existence of a global smooth solution for a degenerate Goursat problem of gas dynamics, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 155 (2000) 277-298] up to the free boundary of vacuum. We prove that the vacuum boundary is the coordinate axes.  相似文献
