The A(e, e′K+)YX reaction has been investigated in Hall C at Jefferson Lab. Data were taken for Q2 ≈ 0.35 and 0.5 GeV2 at a beam energy of 3.245 GeV for 3He, 4He. The missing mass spectra are fitted with Monte Carlo simulations including Λ, Σ0, Σ hyperon production. Models for quasifree production are compared to the data, excess yields close to threshold are attributed to FSI. Evidence for Λ-hypernuclear bound states is seen for 3,4He targets.  相似文献

We show that the HERA data for the inclusive structure function F2(x,Q2) for x10−2 and 0.045Q245 GeV2 can be well described within the color dipole picture, with a simple analytic expression for the dipole–proton scattering amplitude, which is an approximate solution to the non-linear evolution equations in QCD. For dipole sizes less than the inverse saturation momentum 1/Qs(x), the scattering amplitude is the solution to the BFKL equation in the vicinity of the saturation line. It exhibits geometric scaling and scaling violations by the diffusion term. For dipole sizes larger than 1/Qs(x), the scattering amplitude saturates to one. The fit involves three parameters: the proton radius R, the value x0 of x at which the saturation scale Qs equals 1 GeV, and the logarithmic derivative of the saturation momentum λ. The value of λ extracted from the fit turns out to be consistent with a recent calculation using the next-to-leading order BFKL formalism.  相似文献

Using a general parametrization of the spin structure of the matrix element for elastic eN-scattering, in terms of three independent complex amplitudes, we found the expressions for all polarization observables, in electron–proton elastic scattering. This allows to suggest possible methods to measure the nucleon electromagnetic form factors, in presence of two-photon exchange. We show that the measurements of the differential cross section for electron and positron nucleon elastic scattering, in the same kinematical conditions, allows to extract the nucleon electromagnetic form factors. The same is correct for the polarization method, with the measurement of the Px,z components of the final nucleon polarization (for the scattering of longitudinally polarized electrons and positrons). An alternative way, in absence of positron beam, is to measure a definite set of T-odd polarization observables, which includes three different experiments or only T-even observables, with five independent experiments. In both cases, the ratio GE(Q2)/GM(Q2) is related to quantities of the order of and requires different polarization experiments with very high accuracy.  相似文献

A parameter-free, nonperturbative calculation of the ΔNγ electromagnetic transition amplitudes GM*(q2), GE*(q2), and the resonant multipole ratio REM(q2)≡E1+3/2(q2)/M1+3/2(q2) is performed in terms of the well-known nucleon isovector Sachs form factor GMV. Our methods are fully relativistic with conservation of the electromagnetic current guaranteed. We find that GM*(q2) decreases more rapidly than the nucleon dipole form factor when −q21 GeV2/c2 and that REM(q2) remains small even for very high four-momentum transfer implying that the perturbative QCD prediction REM(q2)→1 is purely asymptotic and is valid only for extremely high |q2|.  相似文献

We study the N=2 supersymmetric E6 models on the 6-dimensional space–time where the supersymmetry and gauge symmetry can be broken by the discrete symmetry. On the space–time M4×S1/(Z2×Z2′)×S1/(Z2×Z2′), for the zero modes, we obtain the 4-dimensional N=1 supersymmetric models with gauge groups SU(3)×SU(2)×SU(2)×U(1)2, SU(4)×SU(2)×SU(2)×U(1), and SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1)3 with one extra pair of Higgs doublets from the vector multiplet. In addition, considering that the extra space manifold is the annulus A2 and disc D2, we list all the constraints on constructing the 4-dimensional N=1 supersymmetric SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1)3 models for the zero modes, and give the simplest model with Z9 symmetry. We also comment on the extra gauge symmetry breaking and its generalization.  相似文献

We study the cross sections for the production of neneural, intermediate mass Higgs boson in the process pptq′φ, pptWφ and ppbZ0φ in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (φ = H0, h0 and A0) at Supercollider energies. The additional heavy particles (t, W, Z) in the final state can be used for tagging purposes, increasing the signal to background ratio. These reactions are dominated by bg and bg fusion. Their relevance for Higgs particle searches is discussed taking into account the expected efficiencies and purities for b-tagging. We find that, for tan β = 30, the cross sections for ppbZ0φ are larger than 14 pb, over the whole intemediate range of MA0, for A0 and at least one of the other two Higgses. Therefore this reaction is an excellent candidate for the discovery of one or more MSSM Higgs particles.  相似文献

Using analyticity of the virtual Compton scattering amplitude in Q2 sum rules are derived relating meson-nucleon total cross-sections with certain integrals over the large Q2 and x0 part of nucleon structure functions. Of preliminary quantitative analysis of the sum rules for both singlet and non-singlet amplitudes is presented. For the singlet amplitude the sum rules relate, in particular, the rise of sea-quark distributions implied by perturbative QCD and the increase of total meson-proton cross sections with energy. Quantitatively, however, nonunitary leading log Q2 results for the former give a too rapid increase of the latter.  相似文献

We derive a unitarity relationship between the spin structure function gLT(x,Q2)=g1(x,Q2)+g2(x,Q2), the LT interference diffractive structure function and the spin-flip coupling of the pomeron to nucleons. Our diffractive mechanism gives rise to a dramatic small-x rise , where δg is an exponent of small-x rise of the unpolarized gluon density in the proton at a moderate hard scale for light flavour contribution and large hard scale for heavy flavour contribution. It invalidates the Burkhardt–Cottingham sum rule. The found small-x rise of diffraction driven gLT(x,Q2) is steeper than given by the Wandzura–Wilczek relation under conventional assumptions on small-x behaviour of g1(x,Q2).  相似文献

Let (P) be the moduli space of irreducible connections of a G-principal bundle P over a closed Riemannian spin manifold M. Let DA be the Dirac operator of M coupled to a connection A of P and f a smooth function on M. We consider a smooth variation A(u) of A with tangent vector ω and denote Tω:= (DA(u)f) (u=0. The coefficients of the asymptotic expansion of trace (Tω · e-t(DAf)2) near t=0 define 1-forms a(k)f, K=0, 1, 2, … on (P). In this paper we calculate aa(0)f, a(1)f, a(2)f and study some of their properties. For instance using the 1-form a(2)f for suitable functions f we obtain a foliation of codimension 5 of the space of G-instantons of S4.  相似文献

We reconsider the Kaluza-Klein compactifications of D = 11 supergravity on AdS4 × (G/H)7 manifolds that were classified in the eighties, in the modern perspective of AdS4/CFT3 correspondence. We focus on one of the three N = 2 cases: (G/H)7 = M111 = SU(3) × SU(2) × U(1) /SU(2) × U(1)′ × U(1)′'. Relying on the systematic use of the harmonic analysis techniques developed in the eighties by one of us (P. Fré) with R. D'Auria, we derive the complete spectrum of long, short and massless Osp(2|4) × SU(3) × SU(2) unitary irreducible representations obtained in this compactification. Our result also provides a general scheme for the other N = 2 compactifications. Furthermore, it is a necessary comparison term in the AdS4/CFT3 correspondence: the complete AdS/CFT match of the spectra that we obtain will provide a much more stringent proof of the ACS/CFT correspondence than in the S7 case, since the structure of the superconformal field theory on the M2-brane world volume must be such as to reproduce, at the level of composite operators, the flavor group representations, the conformal dimensions and the hyperchanges that we obtain in the present article. The investigation of this match is left to future publications. Here we provide an exhaustive construction of the Kaluza-Klein side of our spectroscopy.  相似文献

Recent measurements from the HERMES and SMC Collaborations show a remarkably large azimuthal single-spin asymmetries AUL and AUT of the proton in semi-inclusive pion leptoproduction γ*(q)p→πX. We show that final-state interactions from gluon exchange between the outgoing quark and the target spectator system lead to single-spin asymmetries in deep inelastic lepton–proton scattering at leading twist in perturbative QCD; i.e., the rescattering corrections are not power-law suppressed at large photon virtuality Q2 at fixed xbj. The existence of such single-spin asymmetries requires a phase difference between two amplitudes coupling the proton target with Jzp=±1/2 to the same final-state, the same amplitudes which are necessary to produce a nonzero proton anomalous magnetic moment. We show that the exchange of gauge particles between the outgoing quark and the proton spectators produces a Coulomb-like complex phase which depends on the angular momentum Lz of the proton's constituents and is thus distinct for different proton spin amplitudes. The single-spin asymmetry which arises from such final-state interactions does not factorize into a product of distribution function and fragmentation function, and it is not related to the transversity distribution δq(x,Q) which correlates transversely polarized quarks with the spin of the transversely polarized target nucleon.  相似文献

We study nuclear effects in the structure function F3 which describes the parity violating part of the charged-current neuitrino nucleon deep inelastic scattering. Starting from a covariant approach we derive a factorized expression for the nuclear structure function in terms of the nuclear spectral function and off-shell nucleon structure functions valid for arbitrary momentum transfer Q and in the limit of weak nuclear binding, i.e. when a nucleus can be treated as a non-relativistic system. We develop a systematic expansion of nuclear structure functions in terms of a Q−2 series caused by nuclear effects (“nuclear twist” series). Basing ourselves on this expansion we calculate nuclear corrections to the Gross-Llewellyn-Smith sum rule as well as to higher moments of F3. We show that corrections to the GLS sum rule due to nuclear effects cancel out in the Bjorken limit and calculate the corresponding Q−2 correction. Special attention is paid to the discussion of the off-shell effects in the structure functions. A sizable impact of these effects both on the Q2 and x dependence of nuclear structure functions is found.

The order (Q2) correction to the particle multiplicity ratio in gluon and quark jets is calculated in QCD. Through (Q2) we find
, with r = <n>gluon jet/<n>quark jet. This ratio is independent of the opening angle chosen to define the jets.  相似文献

The energy of the 1s2s22p62S) core excited state in atomic fluorine is determined by studying a satellite in the electron beam excited KVV Auger electron spectrum of HF. The satellite is assigned to an atomic autoionization transition 1s2(22p6(2S) → 1ss22p4 (1D). The energy of the 1s2s22P6(2s) initial state has been determined to be 676.5 eV. Transitions to the 1s22s22p43p(3P)and 1s22s22P4(1S) states are also observed. The intensity for these transitions is very low.  相似文献

We have calculated the pion form factor using the bound state Bethe-Salpeter amplitudes and the quark form factor of a relativistic quark model. We obtain a generalized vector dominance structure and an asymptotic behaviour in the space-like region Fπ(Q)2 −0.33 GeV2/Q2.  相似文献

In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), the masses of the charged Higgs boson (H±) and the CP-odd scalar (A) are related by MH+2=MA2+mW2. Furthermore, because the coupling of WAH+ is fixed by gauge interaction, the tree level production rate of depends only on one supersymmetry parameter—the mass (MA) of A. We show that to a good approximation this conclusion also holds at the one-loop level. Consequently, this process can be used to distinguish MSSM from its alternatives (such as a general two-Higgs-doublet model) by verifying the above mass relation, and to test the prediction of the MSSM on the product of the decay branching ratios of A and H± in terms of only one single parameter—MA.  相似文献

We compute non-perturbative contributions to BXsl+l that are not explicitly suppressed by powers of the b-quark mass. They are proportional to and arise from an interference between the free-quark amplitude and high order terms in the matrix element of the four-quark operator sγμ(1 − γ5)cc−βγμ(1 − γ5)bβ. This correction is found to be small over most of the dalitz plot except near the charm threshold. Unfortunately, the perturbative computation we have performed is invalid near charm threshold and we do not except to see the structure found at lowest order reproduced in the data. We conclude that these non-perturbative contributions do not significantly modify the previous analysis of BXsl+l.  相似文献

The hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon (g−2) value is calculated by considering a known dispersion integral which involves the Re+e(s) ratio. The theoretical part stemming from the region below 1.8 GeV is the largest contribution in our approach, and is calculated by using a contour integral involving the associated Adler function D(Q2). In the resummations, we explicitly take into account the exactly known renormalon singularity of the leading infrared renormalon in the usual and in the modified Borel transform of D(Q2), and map further away from the origin the other renormalon singularities by employing judiciously chosen conformal transformations. The renormalon effect increases the predicted value of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon (g−2), and therefore diminishes the difference between the recently measured and the SM/QCD-predicted value of (g−2). It is also shown that the total QED correction to the hadronic vacuum polarization is very small, about 0.06%.  相似文献
