A novel tetradentate nitrogen donor [N4] macrocyclic ligand, i.e. 1,3,4,8,9,11-hexaaza-2,5,10,12-tetraoxo-7,14-diphenyl-cyclotetradecane (L), has been synthesized. Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of this ligand have been prepared and subjected to elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, 1H-n.m.r. (Ligand), i.r., electronic, and e.p.r. spectral studies. On the basis of molar conductance the Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] [where X = Cl & NO 3 ] due to their non-electrolytic nature in dimethylformamide (DMF). Whereas the Ni(II) complexes are 1:2 electrolytes and formulated as [Ni(L)]X2. All the complexes are of the high spin type and are six/four coordinate. On the basis of i.r., electronic and e.p.r. spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned to Mn(II) and Co(II), square planar for Ni(II) complexes, and tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. The antimicrobial activities of the ligand and its complexes, as growth inhibiting agents, have been screened in vitro against several species of bacteria and plant pathogenic fungi.  相似文献

Cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes are synthesized with 1,3,7,9-tetraaza- 4,6,10,12-tetraphenyl-2,8-dithiacyclododecane, a tetradentate ligand (L) and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibitity measurements, mass, i.r., electronic and e.p.r. spectral studies. All the complexes are non-electrolytes so they may be formulated as [M(L)X2] [where, M = Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) and X = Cl and NO 3 ]. All the complexes are of high spin type. On the basis of i.r., electronic and e.p.r. spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes and tetragonal geometry for Cu(II) complexes. The antimicrobial activities of the ligand and its complexes, as growth inhibiting agents, have been screened in vitro against two different species of bacteria and plant pathogenic fungi.  相似文献

Manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes have been synthesized with a new tetradentate ligand viz. 1,3,7,9-tetraaza-2,4,8,10-tetraketo-6,12-diphenyl-cyclododecane (L) and characterized by the elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, 1H NMR, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes in DMF correspond to be nonelectrolytic nature for Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) while 1:2 electrolytes for Ni(II) complexes. Thus, these complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] and [Ni(L)]X2 (where M = Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) and X = Cl and NO3).On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II) and Co(II) complexes, square-planar for Ni(II) whereas tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. The ligand and its complexes were also evaluated against the growth of bacteria and pathogenic fungi in vitro.  相似文献

A novel hexadentate nitrogen donor [N6] macrocyclic ligand viz, 1,5,11,15,21,22-hexaaza-2,14-dimethyl-l4,12-diphenyltricyclo[15.3.1.I(7–11)]docosane[1,4,6,8,10(22)-11,14,16,18,20(21)]decaene (L), has been synthesised. The Co (II), Ni (II), and Cu (II) complexes with this ligand have been prepared and subjected to elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, 1H NMR (ligand), IR, electronic, and ESR spectral studies and electrochemical investigation. On the basis of molar conductance the complexes can be formulated as [M(L)]X2 (where M = Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II) and X = Cl and NO3) due to their 1: 2 electrolytic nature in DMSO. All the complexes are of the high-spin type and are six-coordinated. On the basis of IR, electronic, and ESR spectral studies, an octahedral geometry has been assigned for the Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes, whereas a tetragonal geometry for the Cu(II) complexes was found. Antimicrobial activity of L and its complexes as growth inhibiting agents have been screened in vitro against two species (F. moniliformae and R. solani) of plant pathogenic fungi. Manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes with 1,5,11,15-tetraaza-21,22-dioxo-tricyclo [19,3,1,I6,10]-5,10,15-20-dicosatetraene (L), as a new macrocyclicligand, have been synthesized with and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes in DMF correspond to non-electrolytic nature of Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes, while showing a 1:2 electrolyte for thew Ni(II) complexe. Thus, these complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] and [Ni(L)]X2 (where M = Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) and X = Cl- and NO3 -). On the basis of IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies, an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II) and Co(II), a square planar for Ni(II) and tetragonal for Cu(II) complexes. In vitro ligand and its metal complexes were also screened against the growth of some fungal and bacterial species in order to assess their antimicrobial properties.  相似文献

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) complexes have been synthesized with benzil bis(thiosemicarbazone) (L) and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, thermogravimetric studies, infrared (IR), electronic, and electron paramagnetic resonance (eEPR) spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes in DMF correspond to the non-electrolytic nature of the complexes. Thus these complexes may be formulated as [M(L)X2] (where M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and X = Cl? and NO3 ?). On the basis of IR, electronic, and EPR spectral studies, an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) complexes, whereas a tetragonal geometry for the Cu(II) complexes is presumed. The free ligand and its metal complexes were tested against the phytopathogenic fungi (i.e., Rhizoctonia baticola, Alternaria alternata) in vitro.  相似文献

Some mixed ligand complexes containing 2-methylbenzimidazole and thiocyanate ion were synthesized. Free ligands and their metal complexes were characterized using elemental analysis, determination of metal, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductivity, infrared, UV-VIS, and (1H, 13C) NMR spectra, and X-ray structure analysis. The results suggest that the Ag(I) complex has linear geometry, Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) have tetrahedral geometry, Pd(II) complex has square planar geometry, VO(IV) square pyramidal geometry, Pb(II) irregular tetrahedral geometry, and that the Cr(III) and Mn(II) complexes have octahedral geometry. The following general formulae were proposed for the prepared complexes: [AgBX], [CrB3X3], (HB)2[MnB2X4] · 2B and [MB2X2], where B = 2-methylbenzimidazole, HB = 2-methylbenzimidazolium, X = thiocyanate ion, and M = VO(IV), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Pd(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II). Molar conductance of a 10−3 M solution in N,N-dimethyl formamide (DMF) indicates that all the complexes are non-electrolytes except the Mn(II) complex which is an electrolyte because the molar conductivity of its solution in DMF is high.  相似文献

A novel macrocyclic tetradentate ligand 1,5,8,12-tetraaza-2,4,9,11-tetraphenyl-6,7:13,14-dibenzocyclohexadeca- 1,4,8,11-tetraene (L) has been synthesized. Cobalt(II), nickel(II), and copper(II) complexes of this ligand have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibitity measurements, and mass, IR, electronic, and ESR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements correspond to a nonelectrolytic nature for all the complexes, which can be formulated as [M(L)X2] (where M = Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II); X = Cl and NO3). On the basis of IR, electronic, and ESR spectral studies, an octahedral geometry has been assigned to the Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes, whereas a tetragonal geometry was found for the Cu(II) complexes. The investigated compounds and uncomplexed metal salts and the ligands were tested against bacterial species like Sarcina lutea, Escherchia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus. The metal complexes have higher activity than the free ligand and metal salts. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

Novel series of complexes of the type [M(TML)X2], where TML is a tetradentate macrocyclic ligand; M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II); X = Cl, NO3, CH3COO, have been synthesized by template condensation of isatin and ethylenediamine in the presence of divalent metal salts in a methanolic medium. The complexes have been characterized with the help of elemental analyses, conductance measurements, molecular weight determination, magnetic measurements, NMR, infrared and far infrared spectral studies. The low value of molar conductance indicates them to be nonelectrolytes. All the complexes are supposed to have distorted octahedral geometry. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

A series of the macrocyclic complexes is synthesized by condensation of acetonylacetone and thiocarbohydrazide in the presence of divalent metal salts in the methanolic medium. The complexes are of the type: [M(TML)X2] where, M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II); X = Cl CH3COO and TML is a tetradentate macrocyclic ligand. The complexes have been characterized with the help of various physicochemical techniques like elemental analyses, conductance measurements, magnetic measurements, NMR, infrared and electronic spectral studies. The low value of molar conductance indicates them to be non-electrolyte. On the basis of various studies a distorted octahedral geometry may be proposed for all the complexes. All the synthesized metal complexes were also tested for their in vitro antibacterial activities against some bacterial strains. The results obtained were compared with standard antibiotic: Ciprofloxacin. Some of the tested complexes shows good antibacterial activities against some bacterial strains.  相似文献

A tetradentate nitrogen donor [N4] macrocyclic ligand, 1,3,7,9-tetraaza-2,8-dithia-4,10-dimethyl-6,12-diphenylcyclododeca-4,6,10,12-tetraene has been synthesized by using thiourea and benzoylacetone. Complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) have been synthesized with this ligand and characterized by element chemical analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, mass, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance, Fourier transform–infrared, electronic, and electron paramagnetic resonance spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of Mn(II), Co(II), and Cu(II) complexes in dimethyformamide correspond to nonelectrolytes, whereas Ni(II) complex is a 1: 2 electrolyte. The complexes are high-spin except for Ni(II) which is diamagnetic. Octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II) and Co(II) complexes, square planar for Ni(II) and tetragonal geometry for Cu(II). The ligand and its complexes were screened in vitro against two pathogenic fungi (Fusarium moniliformae and Rhizoctonia solani) and bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) to assess their growth inhibiting potential.  相似文献

The present work is concerned with the synthesis and coordination compounds of 2-amino-N(2-aminobezoyl) benzohydrazide (ABH). The ligand was synthesized by the reaction of methylanthranilate and hydrazine in 2:1 molar ratio. It can be viewed as a modified form of hydrazide. The ligand was characterized by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, mass spectrometry, elemental analysis, and infrared studies. The ligand has got -NH2 moeity, the site for chelation. The complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) chlorides and bromides were prepared. These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, conductance, and magnetic susceptibility studies. Infrared spectra studies confirmed the formation of complexes, while elemental studies suggested the complexation of [M(ABH)X2] (where X = Cl or Br) composition.  相似文献

Complexes of Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Pd(II) with di-N-phenyl pyromellitic diimide (PhPMDI) and di-N-pyridyl pyromellitic diimide (PyPMDI) were prepared and characterized based on analytical, molar conductance, magnetic, IR, PMR, electronic and ESR data. Based on analytical and molar conductance, the complexes have been formulated as [M(PhPMDA)(H2O)2]n (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni), [Cu(PhPMDA)]n [Pd2(PhPMDA)Cl2(H2O)2], [M(PyPMDA)]n (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Cu) and [Pd2(PyPMDA)Cl2] In all these complexes PhPMDA acts as a mononegative bidentate ligand whereas PyPMDA acts as a mononegative tridentate one in the form of amide rather than imide. The geometries of the complexes have been proposed based on the electronic spectra. The various bonding parameters have been calculated from the ESR spectra of Cu(II) complexes.  相似文献

A novel series of complexes of the type [M(TML)X2]; where TML is a tetradentate macrocyclic ligand; M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) or Zn(II); X = Cl, CH3COO or NO 3 have been synthesized by template condensation of benzil and thiocarbohydrazide in the presence of divalent metal salts in methanolic medium. The complexes have been characterized with the help of elemental analyses, conductance measurements, molecular weight determination, magnetic measurements, electronic, NMR, infrared and far infrared spectral studies. Electronic spectra along with magnetic moments suggest the six coordinate octahedral geometry for these complexes. The low value of molar conductance indicates them to be non-electrolytes. The biological activities of metal complexes have been tested in vitro against a number of pathogenic bacteria to assess their inhibiting potential.  相似文献

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 3-methylglutarates were prepared as solids with general formula MC6 H8 O4 ×n H2 O, where n =0–8. Their solubilities in water at 293 K were determined (7.0×10−2 −4.2×10−3 mol dm−3 ). The IR spectra were recorded and thermal decomposition in air was investigated. The IR spectra suggest that the carboxylate groups are mono- or bidentate. During heating the hydrated complexes lose some water molecules in one (Mn, Co, Ni, Cu) or two steps (Cd) and then mono- (Cu) or dihydrates (Mn, Co, Ni) decompose to oxides directly (Mn, Cu, Co) or with intermediate formation of free metals (Co, Ni). Anhydrous Zn(II) complex decomposes directly to the oxide ZnO. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A new series of 14-membered pendant arm hexaazamacrocyclic complexes of the type [MLX2] · [M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) or Zn(II) for X = Cl; Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) or Zn(II) for X = NO3] has been synthesized by metal template condensation of 1,2-phenylenediamine and 1,4-phenylenediamine with formaldehyde in methanol. The mode of bonding and overall geometry of these complexes have been deduced by elemental analyses, molar conductance values, FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, EPR, ESI-mass and UV–VIS along with magnetic measurement studies. The fluorescence and UV–VIS studies revealed a significant binding ability to DNA.  相似文献

Coordination polymers of Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) with the salen-type Schiff base 4,4′-bis[(N-ethanesalicylaldehydediamine-5)azo]biphenyl have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, IR and electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements, and thermogravimetric analysis. Thermogravimetric analysis confirms the coordination of H2O in complexes. The 1H NMR spectrum of ligand clearly indicates the presence of OH and azomethine groups. The octahedral geometry have been suggested for Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) complexes, and square planar Cu((II), whereas tetrahedral is suggested for Zn(II) and Cd(II) polychelates. Thermal data have been analyzed for kinetic parameters by both Coat-Redfern and Broido methods. Solid-state dc conductivity of ligand and its polychelates was measured in their compressed pellet form over 313–413 K temperature range. Solidstate conductivity lies in the range 4.361 × 10−11 to 7.241 × 10−10 Ohm−1 cm−1 indicating their semiconducting behavior. Oxidation of styrene with selected catalysts was tested using H2O2 as an oxidant.  相似文献

The condensation reaction of succinyldihydrazide with glyoxal in the presence of divalent metal ions (1: 1: 1) results in the formation of the complexes of type [M(C6H8N4O2)X2], where M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and X = Cl, NO3, CH3COO. The complexes have been characterized with the aid of elemental analyses, conductance measurements and electronic, NMR, infrared spectral studies. On the basis of these studies, a six-coordinated distorted octahedral geometry in which two nitrogen and two carbonyl oxygen atoms are suitably placed for coordination toward metal ion, has been proposed for all the complexes. The complexes were tested for their in vitro antibacterial activity. Some of the complexes showed remarkable antibacterial activities against some selected bacterial strains.  相似文献
