We study groups whose cohomology functors commute with filtered colimits in high dimensions. We relate this condition to the existence of projective resolutions which exhibit some finiteness properties in high dimensions, and to the existence of Eilenberg–Mac Lane spaces with finitely many n-cells for all sufficiently large n. To that end, we determine the structure of completely finitary Gorenstein projective modules over group rings. The methods are inspired by representation theory and make use of the stable module category, in which morphisms are defined through complete cohomology. In order to carry out these methods, we need to restrict ourselves to certain classes of hierarchically decomposable groups.  相似文献

We study certain finite dimensional reproducing kernel indefinite inner product spaces of multiplicative half order differentials on a compact real Riemann surface; these spaces are analogues of the spaces introduced by L. de Branges when the Riemann sphere is replaced by a compact real Riemann surface of a higher genus. In de Branges theory an important role is played by resolvent-like difference quotient operators Rα; here we introduce generalized difference quotient operators Ryα for any non-constant meromorphic function y on the Riemann surface. The spaces we study are invariant under generalized difference quotient operators and can be characterized as finite dimensional indefinite inner product spaces invariant under two operators Ry1αi and Ry2α2, where y1 and y2 generate the field of meromorphic functions on the Riemann surface, which satisfy a supplementary identity, analogous to the de Branges identity for difference quotients. Just as the classical de Branges spaces and difference quotient operators appear in the operator model theory for a single nonselfadjoint (or nonunitary) operator, the spaces we consider and generalized difference quotient operators appear in the model theory for commuting nonselfadjoint operators with finite nonhermitian ranks.  相似文献

Abstract

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring. There are several characterizations of Gorenstein rings in terms of classical homological dimensions of their modules. In this paper, we use Gorenstein dimensions (Gorenstein injective and Gorenstein flat dimension) to describe Gorenstein rings. Moreover a characterization of Gorenstein injective (resp. Gorenstein flat) modules over Gorenstein rings is given in terms of their Gorenstein flat (resp. Gorenstein injective) resolutions.  相似文献

In the last years (Gorenstein) homological dimensions relative to a semidualizing module C have been subject of several works as interesting extensions of (Gorenstein) homological dimensions. In this paper, we extend to the noncommutative case the concepts of G C -projective module and dimension, weakening the condition of C being semidualizing as well. We prove that indeed they share the principal properties of the classical ones and relate this new dimension with the classical Gorenstein projective dimension of a module. The dual concepts of G C -injective modules and dimension are also treated. Finally, we show some interesting interactions between the class of G C -projective modules and the Bass class associated to C on one side, and the class of G\({_{C^{\vee}}}\) -injective modules (C  = Hom R (C, E) where E is an injective cogenerator in R-Mod) and the Auslander class associated to C in the other.  相似文献

In this article, we investigate the change of rings theorems for the Gorenstein dimensions over arbitrary rings. Namely, by the use of the notion of strongly Gorenstein modules, we extend the well-known first, second, and third change of rings theorems for the classical projective and injective dimensions to the Gorenstein projective and injective dimensions, respectively. Each of the results established in this article for the Gorenstein projective dimension is a generalization of a G-dimension of a finitely generated module M over a noetherian ring R.  相似文献

Relations between Gorenstein derived categories, Gorenstein defect categories and Gorenstein stable categories are established. Using these, the Gorensteinness of an algebra A and invariants with respect to recollements of the bounded Gorenstein derived category D gp b (A-mod) of A are investigated. Specifically, the Gorensteinness of A is characterized in terms of recollements of D gp b (A-mod) and Gorenstein derived equivalences. It is also shown that Cohen-Macaulay-finiteness is invariant with respect to the recollements of D gp b (A-mod).  相似文献

Inspired by ideas from algebraic geometry, Batyrev and the first named author have introduced the stringy E-function of a Gorenstein polytope. We prove that this a priori rational function is actually a polynomial, which is part of a conjecture of Batyrev and the first named author. The proof relies on a comparison result for the lattice point structure of a Gorenstein polytope P, a face F of P and the face of the dual Gorenstein polytope corresponding to F. In addition, we study joins of Gorenstein polytopes and introduce the notion of an irreducible Gorenstein polytope. We show how these concepts relate to the decomposition of nef-partitions.  相似文献

We prove that any product of quotient maps in the category of quasi-uniform spaces and quasi-uniformly continuous maps is a quotient map. We also show that a quasi-uniformly continuous map from a product of quasi-uniform spaces into a quasi-pseudometric T0-space depends on countably many coordinates.Furthermore we characterize those quasi-uniformities that are unique in their quasi-proximity class and prove that this property is preserved under arbitrary products in the category of quasi-uniform spaces.  相似文献

We study the existence of universal and quotient universal spaces in the class of nuclear Köthe spaces with a continuous norm. It is shown that no countable set of these spaces has all Lf(a, r) spaces, ?∞ < r ? 0, as subspaces or those with 0 < r ? ∞ as quotients. On the other hand, the quotients and subspaces of (s) with basis constitute a universal and a quotient universal class, respectively.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the rings over which the class of finitely generated strongly Gorenstein projective modules is closed under extensions (called fs-closed rings). We show that the Ehrhart h-vector of an integer Gorenstein polytope with a regular unimodular triangulation satisfies McMullen's g-theorem; in particular, it is unimodal. This result generalizes a recent theorem of Athanasiadis (conjectured by Stanley) for compressed polytopes. It is derived from a more general theorem on Gorenstein affine normal monoids M: one can factor K[M] (K a field) by a “long” regular sequence in such a way that the quotient is still a normal affine monoid algebra. This technique reduces all questions about the Ehrhart h-vector of P to the Ehrhart h-vector of a Gorenstein polytope Q with exactly one interior lattice point, provided each lattice point in a multiple cP, cN, can be written as the sum of c lattice points in P. (Up to a translation, the polytope Q belongs to the class of reflexive polytopes considered in connection with mirror symmetry.) If P has a regular unimodular triangulation, then it follows readily that the Ehrhart h-vector of P coincides with the combinatorial h-vector of the boundary complex of a simplicial polytope, and the g-theorem applies.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that the Gorenstein analogue of the well-known Auslander's theorem on the global dimension holds true. Let GO(4) act isometrically on S3. In this article we calculate a lower bound for the diameter of the quotient spaces S3/G. We find it to be , which is exactly the value of the lower bound for diameters of the spherical space forms. In the process, we are also able to find a lower bound for diameters for the spherical Aleksandrov spaces, Sn/G, of cohomogeneities 1 and 2, as well as for cohomogeneity 3 (with some restrictions on the group type). This leads us to conjecture that the diameter of Sn/G is increasing as the cohomogeneity of the group G increases.  相似文献

Denote by D~b(R-Mod)_([G F,C]) the subcategory of D~b(R-Mod) consisting of all complexes with both finite Gorenstein flat dimension and cotorsion dimension and K~b(F ∩ C) the bounded homotopy category of flat cotorsion left R-modules. We prove that the quotient triangulated category D~b(R-Mod)_([G F,C])/K~b(F ∩ C) is triangle-equivalent to the stable category GF ∩ C of the Frobenius category of all Gorenstein flat and cotorsion left R-modules.  相似文献

In a bounded domainG ? ? n , whose boundary is the union of manifolds of different dimensions, we study the Sobolev problem for a properly elliptic expression of order 2m. The boundary conditions are given by linear differential expressions on manifolds of different dimensions. We study the Sobolev problem in the complete scale of Banach spaces.
