It is shown that for open convex , d > 1 and a nontrivial polynomial P the space does not have property . If P is elliptic or homogeneous, then this holds for every open Ω. For even cannot occur and if it occurs for some Ω, then P must be hypoelliptic. Received: 18 July 2005  相似文献

The paper considers the Cauchy problem for linear partial differential equations of non-Kowalevskian type in the complex domain. It is shown that if the Cauchy data are entire functions of a suitable order, the problem has a formal solution which is multisummable. The precise bound of the admissible order of entire functions is described in terms of the Newton polygon of the equation.  相似文献

It is shown that spaces of quasianalytic ultradifferentiable functions of Roumieu type ℰ{w}(Ω), on an open convex set , satisfy some new (Ω) -type linear topological invariants. Some consequences for the splitting of short exact sequences of these spaces as well as for the structure of the spaces are derived. In particular, Fréchet quotients of ℰ{w}(Ω) have property (), while dual Fréchet quotients have property () of Vogt. The work of P. This paper deals with a new solution concept for partial differential equations in algebras of generalized functions. Introducing regularized derivatives for generalized functions, we show that the Cauchy problem is wellposed backward and forward in time for every system of linear partial differential equations of evolution type in this sense. We obtain existence and uniqueness of generalized solutions in situations where there is no distributional solution or where even smooth solutions are nonunique. In the case of symmetric hyperbolic systems, the generalized solution has the classical weak solution as macroscopic aspect. Two extensions to nonlinear systems are given: global solutions to quasilinear evolution equations with bounded nonlinearities and local solutions to quasilinear symmetric hyperbolic systems.  相似文献

In an earlier paper, the authors introduced partial translation algebras as a generalisation of group C?C?-algebras. Here we establish an extension of partial translation algebras, which may be viewed as an excision theorem in this context. We apply this general framework to compute the K-theory of partial translation algebras and group C?C?-algebras in the context of almost invariant subspaces of discrete groups. This generalises the work of Cuntz, Lance, Pimsner and Voiculescu. In particular we provide a new perspective on Pimsner's calculation of the K-theory for a graph product of groups.  相似文献

In this paper we use the Nash-Williams theory of fronts and barriers to study weakly null sequences in Banach spaces. Specifically, we show how barriers relate to the classical fact that C(K) with K a countable compactum is c0-saturated. Another result relates the notion of a barrier to the Maurey-Rosenthal example of a weakly null sequence with no unconditional subsequences. In particular, we construct examples of weakly-null sequences which are α-unconditional but not β-unconditional.  相似文献

We consider nonlinear elliptic equations of p  -Laplacian type that are not necessarily of variation form when the nonlinearity is allowed to be discontinuous and the boundary of the domain can go beyond the Lipschitz category. Under smallness in the BMO nonlinearity and sufficient flatness of the Reifenberg domain, we obtain the global weighted LqLq estimates with q∈(p,∞)q(p,) for the gradient of weak solutions.  相似文献

We study the problem of division in Colombeau's space of new generalized functions in the associated sense: more precisely we solve the equation of the formF·G p H with adequate assumptions onF. We study the inverse braid monoid IBn introduced by Easdown and Lavers in 2004. We completely describe the factorizable structure of IBn and use this to give a new proof of the Easdown-Lavers presentation; we also derive several new presentations, each of which gives rise to a new presentation of the symmetric inverse monoid. We then define and study the pure inverse braid monoid IPn which is related to IBn in the same way that the pure braid group is related to the braid group.  相似文献

We study isomonodromicity of systems of parameterized linear differential equations and related conjugacy properties of linear differential algebraic groups by means of differential categories. We prove that isomonodromicity is equivalent to isomonodromicity with respect to each parameter separately under a filtered-linearly closed assumption on the field of functions of parameters. Our result implies that one does not need to solve any non-linear differential equations to test isomonodromicity anymore. This result cannot be further strengthened by weakening the requirement on the parameters as we show by giving a counterexample. Also, we show that isomonodromicity is equivalent to conjugacy to constants of the associated parameterized differential Galois group, extending a result of P. Cassidy and M. Singer, which we also prove categorically. We illustrate our main results by a series of examples, using, in particular, a relation between the Gauss–Manin connection and parameterized differential Galois groups.  相似文献

This article part I and the forthcoming part II are concerned with the study of the Borel summability of divergent power series solutions for singular first-order linear partial differential equations of nilpotent type. Under one restriction on equations, we can divide them into two classes. In this part I, we deal with the one class and obtain the conditions under which divergent solutions are Borel summable. (The other class will be studied in part II.) In order to assure the Borel summability of divergent solutions, global analytic continuation properties for coefficients are required despite of the fact that the domain of the Borel sum is local.  相似文献

Under a certain restriction, singular first-order linear partial differential equations of nilpotent type with two variables are divided into two classes. In the previous paper Part I, we dealt with the one class, and comprehended that there was a close affinity between the Borel summability of divergent solutions and global analytic continuation properties for coefficients. In this Part II, we give a similar consideration on the other class. More precise global estimates than those given in Part I for coefficients will be required to prove the Borel summability of divergent solutions.  相似文献

In this paper we study the well-posedness and regularity of the adapted solutions to a class of linear, degenerate backward stochastic partial differential equations (BSPDE, for short). We establish new a priori estimates for the adapted solutions to BSPDEs in a general setting, based on which the existence, uniqueness, and regularity of adapted solutions are obtained. We prove the global existence and uniqueness of solutions of certain mixed hyperbolic-parabolic systems of partial differential equations in one space dimension with initial data that is assumed to be pointwise bounded with possibly large oscillation and with small total energy. The systems we consider are general enough to include the Navier-Stokes equations of compressible flow, the equations of compressible MHD, models of chemical combustion, and others. In particular, the application of our results to the MHD system gives an existence result which is new.  相似文献
