Photon activation analysis (PAA) has been a well-established analytical method for about two decades. In this paper, its particular features are outlined in comparison with other modern instrumental techniques, especially radioanalytical methods, e.g. activation analysis with thermal or fast neutrons (NAA) or charged particles (CPA). Emphasis is placed upon the determination of trace components of high-purity material; iron, copper and lead matrix were selected as examples. In PAA, both instrumental and radiochemical procedures were applied. The results are presented in comparison with those obtained by other laboratories using a large variety of different techniques. 相似文献

The azo dyes are commonly used in the leather and textile industries as they are quite versatile in nature. However, they are neither totally utilised during the process, nor are they recovered at the end of the process. In fact, in the leather industry, typically about 10–15% of the dye is discharged with the effluent creating both environmental and economic issues. Hence, there is a need to remove the residual dye from the large volume of aqueous effluent. In this study, for the first time, azo dyes employed in the leather industry have been successfully extracted into a neutral ionic liquid, with an extraction efficiency of 98%, potentially providing a method of minimizing pollution of waste-waters. The extraction of the dye into the ionic liquid also provides a potential analytical approach to determination of these dyes. 相似文献

The characterization of alcohol-ethoxylate substances is a significant challenge in analytical science. Their importance in industry and society makes it necessary to have methods for their rapid, reliable characterization and quantification. This overview highlights the instrumental separation techniques for their analysis - chromatographic (e.g., gas, liquid and supercritical fluid chromatography) and electrophoretic (e.g., capillary, gel, capillary zone, and non-aqueous capillary electrophoresis and micellar electrokinetic chromatography). We summarize and explain analytical parameters for their characterization. We include selected references and examples to show the appropriateness of instrumental separation techniques for the analytical characterization of alcohol-ethoxylate substances. 相似文献

An extensive database of analytical results from a recent biological matrix Reference Material Characterization Campaign permitted an intercomparison of the performances of various methods among each other and with "true" best estimate concentration values established for these materials. Six different variants of neutron activation analysis (NAA) methods were employed including: instrumental neutron activation analysis, instrumental neutron activation analysis with acid digestion, neutron activation analysis with radiochemical separation, neutron capture prompt gamma activation analysis, epithermal instrumental neutron activation analysis, and neutron activation analysis with preconcentration. The precision and accuracy performance of NAA-based analytical methods are compared with three other major techniques, atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), atomic emission spectrometry (AES) and mass spectrometry (MS) for 28 elements in 10 natural matrix materials. 相似文献
