In this paper we present a generalization of belief functions over fuzzy events. In particular we focus on belief functions defined in the algebraic framework of finite MV-algebras of fuzzy sets. We introduce a fuzzy modal logic to formalize reasoning with belief functions on many-valued events. We prove, among other results, that several different notions of belief functions can be characterized in a quite uniform way, just by slightly modifying the complete axiomatization of one of the modal logics involved in the definition of our formalism.  相似文献

In this paper we extend the anodic systems introduced in Bueno-Soler (J Appl Non Class Logics 19(3):291–310, 2009) by adding certain paraconsistent axioms based on the so called logics of formal inconsistency, introduced in Carnielli et al. (Handbook of philosophical logic, Springer, Amsterdam, 2007), and define the classes of systems that we call cathodic. These classes consist of modal paraconsistent systems, an approach which permits us to treat with certain kinds of conflicting situations. Our interest in this paper is to show that such systems can be semantically characterized in two different ways: by Kripke-style semantics and by modal possible-translations semantics. Such results are inspired in some universal constructions in logic, in the sense that cathodic systems can be seen as a kind of fusion (a particular case of fibring) between modal logics and non-modal logics, as discussed in Carnielli et al. (Analysis and synthesis of logics, Springer, Amsterdam, 2007). The outcome is inherently within the spirit of universal logic, as our systems semantically intermingles modal logics, paraconsistent logics and many-valued logics, defining new blends of logics whose relevance we intend to show.  相似文献

This paper deals with Kripke‐style semantics for many‐valued logics. We introduce various types of Kripke semantics, and we connect them with algebraic semantics. As for modal logics, we relate the axioms of logics extending MTL to properties of the Kripke frames in which they are valid. We show that in the propositional case most logics are complete but not strongly complete with respect to the corresponding class of complete Kripke frames, whereas in the predicate case there are important many‐valued logics like BL, ? and Π, which are not even complete with respect to the class of all predicate Kripke frames in which they are valid. Thus although very natural, Kripke semantics seems to be slightly less powerful than algebraic semantics. (© 2003 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Bounded integral residuated lattices form a large class of algebras which contains algebraic counterparts of several propositional logics behind many-valued reasoning and intuitionistic logic. In the paper we introduce and investigate monadic bounded integral residuated lattices which can be taken as a generalization of algebraic models of the predicate calculi of those logics in which only a single variable occurs.  相似文献

We extend the theory of unified correspondence to a broad class of logics with algebraic semantics given by varieties of normal lattice expansions (LEs), also known as ‘lattices with operators’. Specifically, we introduce a syntactic definition of the class of Sahlqvist formulas and inequalities which applies uniformly to each LE-signature and is given purely in terms of the order-theoretic properties of the algebraic interpretations of the logical connectives. We also introduce the algorithm ALBA, parametric in each LE-setting, which effectively computes first-order correspondents of LE-inequalities, and is guaranteed to succeed on a wide class of inequalities (the so-called inductive inequalities) which significantly extend the Sahlqvist class. Further, we show that every inequality on which ALBA succeeds is canonical. Projecting these results on specific signatures yields state-of-the-art correspondence and canonicity theory for many well known modal expansions of classical and intuitionistic logic and for substructural logics, from classical poly-modal logics to (bi-)intuitionistic modal logics to the Lambek calculus and its extensions, the Lambek-Grishin calculus, orthologic, the logic of (not necessarily distributive) De Morgan lattices, and the multiplicative-additive fragment of linear logic.  相似文献

This paper gives a survey of some aspects of many-valued logics and the theory of fuzzy sets and fuzzy reasoning, as advocated in particular by Zadeh. It starts with a short discussion of the development of many-valued logics and its philosophical background. In particular, the systems of Lukasiewicz and their algebraic models are presented. In connection with the famous Arrow paradoxon, Boolean valued and fuzzy social orderings are discussed. After some remarks on inference, fuzzy sets are introduced and it is shown that their definition is sound if some acceptable rationality requirements are demanded. Deformable prototypes are suggested in order to obtain the numerical values of the membership function for some applications. Finally, a recent paper of Bellman and Zadeh on a fuzzy logic, where the truth values themselves are fuzzy, is reviewed.  相似文献

Axiomatizations are presented for fuzzy logics characterized by uninorms continuous on the half-open real unit interval [0,1), generalizing the continuous t-norm based approach of Hájek. Basic uninorm logic BUL is defined and completeness is established with respect to algebras with lattice reduct [0,1] whose monoid operations are uninorms continuous on [0,1). Several extensions of BUL are also introduced. In particular, Cross ratio logic CRL, is shown to be complete with respect to one special uninorm. A Gentzen-style hypersequent calculus is provided for CRL and used to establish co-NP completeness results for these logics. An effect algebra (EA) is a partial algebraic structure, originally formulated as an algebraic base for unsharp quantum measurements. The class of EAs includes, as special cases, several partially ordered algebraic structures, including orthomodular lattices (OMLs) and orthomodular posets (OMPs), hitherto used as mathematical models for experimentally verifiable propositions pertaining to physical systems. Moreover, MV-algebras, which are mathematical models for many-valued logics, are special cases of EAs. The present paper studies generalizations to EAs of the hull mapping featured in L. Loomis’s dimension theory for complete OMLs and develops a theory of direct decomposition for EAs with a hull mapping. A. Sherstnev and V. Kalinin have extended Loomis’s dimension theory to orthocomplete OMPs, and here it is further extended to orthocomplete EAs; moreover, a corresponding direct decomposition into types I, II, and III is obtained using the hull mapping induced by the dimension equivalence relation.  相似文献

We introduce two unary operators G and H on a relatively pseudocomplemented lattice which form an algebraic axiomatization of the tense quantifiers “it is always going to be the case that” and “it has always been the case that”. Their axiomatization is an extended version for the classical logic and it is in accordance with these operators on many-valued Łukasiewicz logic. Finally, we get a general construction of these tense operators on complete relatively pseudocomplemented lattice which is a power lattice via the so-called frame.  相似文献

A filter of a sentential logic ? is Leibniz when it is the smallest one among all the ?-filters on the same algebra having the same Leibniz congruence. This paper studies these filters and the sentential logic ?+ defined by the class of all ?-matrices whose filter is Leibniz, which is called the strong version of ?, in the context of protoalgebraic logics with theorems. Topics studied include an enhanced Correspondence Theorem, characterizations of the weak algebraizability of ?+ and of the explicit definability of Leibniz filters, and several theorems of transfer of metalogical properties from ? to ?+. For finitely equivalential logics stronger results are obtained. Besides the general theory, the paper examines the examples of modal logics, quantum logics and Łukasiewicz's finitely-valued logics. One finds that in some cases the existence of a weak and a strong version of a logic corresponds to well-known situations in the literature, such as the local and the global consequences for normal modal logics; while in others these constructions give an independent interest to the study of other lesser-known logics, such as the lattice-based many-valued logics. Wolter in [38] proved that the Craig interpolation property transfers to fusion of normal modal logics. It is well-known [21] that for such logics Craig interpolation corresponds to an algebraic property called superamalgamability. In this paper, we develop model-theoretic techniques at the level of first-order theories in order to obtain general combination results transferring quantifier-free interpolation to unions of theories over non-disjoint signatures. Such results, once applied to equational theories sharing a common Boolean reduct, can be used to prove that superamalgamability is modular also in the non-normal case. We also state that, in this non-normal context, superamalgamability corresponds to a strong form of interpolation that we call “comprehensive interpolation property” (which consequently transfers to fusions).  相似文献

A variety of modal logics based on the relevant logic R are presented. Models are given for each of these logics and completeness is shown. It is also shown that each of these logics admits Ackermann's rule γ and as a corollary of this it is proved that each logic is a conservative extension of its counterpart based on classical logic, hence we call them “classically complete”. The article studies Barwise's information frames and settles the problem of Barwise dealing in finding axiomatizations for the modal logics generated by information frames. We find axiomatic systems for: (i) the modal logic of all complete information frames; (ii) the logic of all sound and complete information frames; (iii) the logic of all hereditary and complete information frames; (iv) the logic of all complete, sound, and hereditary information frames; (v) the logic of all consistent and complete information frames. The notion of weak modal logics is also proposed, and it is shown that the weak modal logics generated by all information frames and by all hereditary information frames are K and K4, respectively. Toward a general theory, we prove that any Kripke complete modal logic is a modal logic of a certain class of information frames, and that every modal logic generated by any given class of complete, rarefied, and fully classified information frames is Kripke complete.  相似文献

We survey algebraic results on combinatorial circuits constructed from many-valued uniformly delayed gates. These involve the composition of uniformly delayed operations, the lattice of uniform clones, the corresponding relational theory, uniform completeness and the search for an effective completeness criterion.  相似文献

The paper presents a method for transforming a given sound and complete n-sequent proof system into an equivalent sound and complete system of ordinary sequents. The method is applicable to a large, central class of (generalized) finite-valued logics with the language satisfying a certain minimal expressiveness condition. The expressiveness condition decrees that the truth-value of any formula φ must be identifiable by determining whether certain formulas uniformly constructed from φ have designated values or not. The transformation preserves the general structure of proofs in the original calculus in a way ensuring preservation of the weak cut elimination theorem under the transformation. The described transformation metod is illustrated on several concrete examples of many-valued logics, including a new application to information sources logics.  相似文献

CBA logic was introduced as a non-associative generalization of the Łukasiewicz many-valued propositional logic. Its algebraic semantic is just the variety of commutative basic algebras. Petr Hájek introduced vt-operators as models for the “very true” connective on fuzzy logics. The aim of the paper is to show possibilities of using vt-operators on commutative basic algebras, especially we show that CBA logic endowed with very true connective is still fuzzy.  相似文献

The paper introduces semantic and algorithmic methods for establishing a variant of the analytic subformula property (called ‘the bounded proof property’, bpp) for modal propositional logics. The bpp is much weaker property than full cut-elimination, but it is nevertheless sufficient for establishing decidability results. Our methodology originated from tools and techniques developed on one side within the algebraic/coalgebraic literature dealing with free algebra constructions and on the other side from classical correspondence theory in modal logic. As such, our approach is orthogonal to recent literature based on proof-theoretic methods and, in a way, complements it.  相似文献

In this paper we consider distributive modal logic, a setting in which we may add modalities, such as classical types of modalities as well as weak forms of negation, to the fragment of classical propositional logic given by conjunction, disjunction, true, and false. For these logics we define both algebraic semantics, in the form of distributive modal algebras, and relational semantics, in the form of ordered Kripke structures. The main contributions of this paper lie in extending the notion of Sahlqvist axioms to our generalized setting and proving both a correspondence and a canonicity result for distributive modal logics axiomatized by Sahlqvist axioms. Our proof of the correspondence result relies on a reduction to the classical case, but our canonicity proof departs from the traditional style and uses the newly extended algebraic theory of canonical extensions.  相似文献

The paper gives an overview of new results on two-dimensional modal logics of special type, “Segerberg squares.” They are defined as usual squares of modal logics with additional connectives corresponding to the diagonal symmetry and two projections onto the diagonal. In many cases these logics are finitely axiomatizable, complete and have the finite model property. Segerberg squares are interpreted in the classical predicate logic.  相似文献
