This paper presents a fully coupled model to account for the flux pinning induced giant magnetostriction in type-II superconductors under alternating magnetic field The superconductor E-J constitutive law is characterized by power law where the critical current density is assumed to depend exponentially on the flux density. The governing equations of the two-field problem(i.e., the interactions of elastic and magnetic effects) are formulated in a two-dimensional model. The magnetostriction curves and magnetization loops are calculated over a wide range of parameters. The effects of applied magnetic field frequency f and amplitude B0 and critical current density on magnetostriction and magnetization are discussed. Results show that the critical current density of high temperature superconductor(HTS) YBCO has a significant effect on the magnetization and magnetostriction. The pinning-induced magnetostriction which has been observed in experiment can be qualitatively simulated by this model.  相似文献

In this paper, the effect of magnetic nanoparticles on the mechanical properties of a type-II superconductor is investigated both theoretically and numerically. Magnetic part of the pinning force associated with the interaction between a finite-size spheroidal magnetic inclusion and an Abrikosov vortex is calculated in the London approximation. It is found that the size and shape of magnetic nanoparticles result in different enhancements of vortex pinning in large-κtype-II superconductors. Meanwhile, the screening current induced by a magnetic spheroid suffer the action of Lorentz force, which will lead to prestress in the superconductor, so further numerical calculations are needed to explore the interaction between the spheroidal magnetic particle and superconductor. The distribution of displacement, stress and strain in the superconductor are finally obtained. It is shown that different sizes and shapes of nanoparticles also can change the distributions of these quantities.  相似文献

This paper deals with the electromagnetoelastic problem of an elastic, conducting circular cylinder with a penny-shaped crack under a uniform axial current flow and a constant axial magnetic field. The current flow is disturbed by the presence of the crack and the torsional stresses are caused by the interactions between the magnetic field and the disturbed current. Two problems concerning the electric current density field and the electromagnetoelastic field are formulated by means of integral transform techniques and reduced to two Fredholm integral equations of the second kind. Numerical calculations are carried out and stress intensity factors are obtained for several values of the geometric parameters.  相似文献

The axisymmetric dynamic response of a penny-shaped crack in an elastic conductor under an impulsive electric current flow and a constant axial magnetic field is analyzed. The axial current flow is disturbed by the presence of the crack and the torsional shear stresses are caused by the interactions between the magnetic field and the disturbed current. Laplace and Hankel transforms are used to reduce the electromagnetoelastic problem to a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind in the Laplace transform plane. A numerical Laplace inversion routine is used to recover the time dependence of the solution. Numerical results on the dynamic stress intensity factor are obtained and are presented in a graphical form.  相似文献

A problem concerned with the reflection and refraction of thermoelastic plane waves at an imperfect interface between two generalized thermally conducting cubic crystal solid half-spaces of different elastic and thermal properties with two relaxation times has been investigated. The generalized thermoelastic theory with two relaxation times developed by Green and Lindsay has been used to study the problem. The expressions for the reflection and refraction coefficients which are the ratios of the amplitudes of reflected and refracted waves to the amplitude of incident waves are obtained for an imperfect boundary and deduced for normal stiffness, transverse stiffness, thermal contact conductance, slip and welded boundaries. Amplitude ratios of different reflected and refracted waves for different boundaries with angle of emergence have been compared graphically for different incident waves. It is observed that the amplitude ratios of reflected and refracted waves are affected by the stiffness and thermal properties of the media.  相似文献

This paper presents an analytical solution for the interaction of electric potentials, electric displacements, elastic deformations, and thermoelasticity, and describes electromagnetoelastic responses and perturbation of the magnetic field vector in hollow structures(cylinder or sphere),subjected to mechanical load and electric potential. The material properties, thermal expansion coefficient and magnetic permeability of the structure are assumed to be graded in the radial direction by a power law distribution. In the present model we consider the solution for the case of a hollow structure made of viscoelastic isotropic material, reinforced by elastic isotropic fibers, this material is considered as structurally anisotropic material. The exact solutions for stresses and perturbations of the magnetic field vector in FGM hollow structures are determined using the infinitesimal theory of magnetothermoelasticity, and then the hollow structure model with viscoelastic material is solved using the correspondence principle and Illyushin’s approximation method. Finally, numerical results are carried out and discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, the well-established two-dimensional mathematical model for linear pyroelectric materials is employed to investigate the reflection of waves at the boundary between a vacuum and an elastic, transversely isotropic, pyroelectric material. A comparative study between the solutions of (a) classical thermoelasticity, (b) Cattaneo–Lord–Shulman theory and (c) Green–Lindsay theory equations, characterised by none, one and two relaxation times, respectively, is presented. Suitable boundary conditions are considered in order to determine the reflection coefficients when incident elasto–electro–thermal waves impinge the free interface. It is established that, in the quasi-electrostatic approximation, three different classes of waves: (1) two principally elastic waves, namely a quasi-longitudinal Primary (qP) wave and a quasi-transverse Secondary (qS) wave; and (2) a mainly thermal (qT) wave. The observed electrical effects are, on the other hand, a direct consequence of mechanical and thermal phenomena due to pyroelectric coupling. The computed reflection coefficients of plane qP waves are found to depend upon the angle of incidence, the elastic, electric and thermal parameters of the medium, as well as the thermal relaxation times. The special cases of normal and grazing incidence are also derived and discussed. Finally, the reflection coefficients are computed for cadmium selenide observing the influence of (1) the anisotropy of the material, (2) the electrical potential and (3) temperature variations and (4) the thermal relaxation times on the reflection coefficients.  相似文献

In this paper, the basic equations of motion, of Gauss and of heat conduction, together with constitutive relations for pyro- and piezoelectric media, are presented. Three thermoelastic theories are considered: classical dynamical coupled theory, the Lord–Shulman theory with one relaxation time and Green and Lindsay theory with two relaxation times. For incident elastic longitudinal, potential electric and thermal waves, referred to as qP, φ-mode and T-mode waves, which impinge upon the interface between two different transversal isotropic media, reflection and refraction coefficients are obtained by solving a set of linear algebraic equations. A case study is investigated: a system formed by two semi-infinite, hexagonal symmetric, pyroelectric–piezoelectric media, namely Cadmium Selenide (CdSe) and Barium Titanate (BaTiO3). Numerical results for the reflection and refraction coefficients are obtained, and their behavior versus the incidence angle is analyzed. The interaction with the interface give rises to different kinds of reflected and refracted waves: (i) two reflected elastic waves in the first medium, one longitudinal (qP-wave) and the other transversal (qSV-wave), and a similar situation for the refracted waves in the second medium; (ii) two reflected potential electric waves and a similar situation for the refracted waves; (iii) two reflected thermal waves and a similar situation for the refracted waves. The amplitudes of the reflected and refracted waves are functions of the incident angle, of the thermal relaxation times and of the media elastic, electric, thermal constants. This study is relevant to signal processing, sound systems, wireless communications, surface acoustic wave devices and military defense equipment.  相似文献

Analytical studies on electromagnetoelastic behaviors are presented for the functionally graded piezoelectric material (FGPM) solid cylinder and sphere placed in a uniform magnetic field and subjected to the external pressure and electric loading. When the mechanical, electric and magnetic properties of the material obey an identical power law in the radial direction, the exact displacements, stresses, electric potentials and perturbations of magnetic field vector in the FGPM solid cylinder and sphere are obtained by using the infinitesimal theory of electromagnetoelasticity. Numerical examples also show the significant influence of material inhomogeneity. It is interesting to note that selecting a specific value of inhomogeneity parameter can optimize the electromagnetoelastic responses, which will be of particular importance in modern engineering designs.  相似文献

The problem of reflection and transmission of plane waves incident on the contact surface of an elastic solid and an electro-microstretch generalized thermoelastic solid is discussed. It is found that there exist five reflected waves, i.e., longitudinal displacement (LD) wave, thermal (T) wave, longitudinal microstretch (LM) wave and two coupled transverse displacement and microrotational (CD(I) and CD(II)) waves in the electro-microstretch generalized thermoelastic solid, and two transmitted waves, i.e., longitudinal (P) and transverse (SV) waves in the elastic solid. The amplitude ratios of different reflected and transmitted waves are obtained for an imperfect boundary and deduced for normal force stiffness, transverse force stiffness, and perfect bonding. The variations of amplitude ratios with incidence angles have been depicted graphically for the LD wave and the CD(I) wave. It is noticed that the amplitude ratios of reflected and transmitted waves are affected by the stiffness, electric field, stretch, and thermal properties of the media. Some particular interest cases have been deduced from the present investigations.  相似文献

The reflection and transmission of the thermo-elastic coupled waves at an interface of two different couple stress elastic solids are studied in this paper. Based on the Green-Lindsay theory, the governing equations and the constitutive equations are derived. Different from the classic elastic solid, the interface conditions include the surface couple, the rotation angle, the heat flux and the temperature change. The interface conditions are used to obtain the linear algebraic equations set from which the amplitude ratios of reflection and transmission waves to the incident wave can be determined. Then, the normal energy flux conservation is used to validate the numerical results. At last, the influences of two characteristic relaxation times and the five kinds of thermally and micromechanically interface conditions are discussed based on the numerical results. It is found that the thermal wave effects affect only the longitudinal wave while the couple stress effects affect only the transverse waves. The thermo-elastic coupling makes the longitudinal wave and the thermal wave not only dispersive but also attenuated.  相似文献

The interaction between disturbances in the hypersonic boundary layer on impermeable and porous surfaces is considered within the framework of weakly-nonlinear stability theory. It is established that on the impermeable surface nonlinear interactions between different waves (acoustic and vortex) occur in the parametric resonance regime. The role of pumping wave is played by a plane acoustic wave. The nonlinear interactions take place over a wide frequency range and can lead to the packet growth of Tollmien-Schlichting waves. On the porous surface the analogous interactions are fairly weak and result in a slight decay of the acoustic mode and a slight amplification of the vortex mode. This leads to the dragging out of the laminar flow regime and the regions of linear disturbance growth. In this situation the low-frequency spectrum of the vortex modes may be filled on account of the nonlinear processes occurring in the three-wave systems between the vortex components.  相似文献

Numerical simulation and PIV study of compressible vortex ring evolution   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Formation and evolution of a compressible vortex ring generated at the open end of a short driver section shock tube has been simulated numerically for pressure ratios (PR) of 3 and 7 in the present study. Numerical study of compressible vortex rings is essential to understand the complicated flow structure and acoustic characteristics of many high Mach number impulsive jets where simultaneously velocity, density and pressure fields are needed. The flow development, incident shock formation, shock diffraction, vortex ring formation and its evolution are simulated using the AUSM+ scheme. The main focus of the present study is to evaluate the time resolved vorticity field of the vortex ring and the shock/expansion waves in the starting jet for short driver section shock tubes—a scenario where little data are available in existing literature. An embedded shock and a vortex induced shock are observed for PR =  7. However the vortex ring remains shock free, compact and unaffected by the trailing jet for PR =  3. Numerical shadowgraph shows the evolution of embedded shock and shock/expansion waves along with their interactions. The velocity and vorticity fields obtained from simulation are validated with the particle image velocimetry results and these data match closely. The translational velocity of the vortex ring, velocity across the vortex and the centre line velocity of the jet obtained from simulation also agree well with the experimental results.  相似文献

The present study is concerned with the wave propagation in an electro-microelastic solid. The reflection phenomenon of plane elastic waves from a stress free plane boundary of an electro-microelastic solid half-space is studied. The condition and the range of frequency for the existence of elastic waves in an infinite electro-microelastic body are investigated. The constitutive relations and the field equations for an electro-microelastic solid are stemmed from the Eringen’s theory of microstretch elasticity with electromagnetic interactions. Amplitude ratios and energy ratios of various reflected waves are presented when an elastic wave is made incident obliquely at the stress free plane boundary of an electro-microelastic solid half-space. It has been verified that there is no dissipation of energy at the boundary surface during reflection. Numerical computations are performed for a specific model to calculate the phase speeds, amplitude ratios and energy ratios, and the results obtained are depicted graphically. The effect of elastic parameter corresponding to micro-stretch is noticed on reflection coefficients, in particular. Results of Parfitt and Eringen [Parfitt, V.R., Eringen, A.C., 1969. Reflection of plane waves from a flat boundary of a micropolar elastic half-space. J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 45, 1258–1272] have also been reduced as a special case from the present formulation.  相似文献

We have used a third-order essentially non-oscillatory method to obtain numerical shadowgraphs for investigation of shock–vortex interaction patterns. To search different interaction patterns, we have tested two vortex models (the composite vortex model and the Taylor vortex model) and as many as 47 parametric data sets. By shock–vortex interaction, the impinging shock is deformed to a S-shape with leading and lagging parts of the shock. The vortex flow is locally accelerated by the leading shock and locally decelerated by the lagging shock, having a severely elongated vortex core with two vertices. When the leading shock escapes the vortex, implosion effect creates a high pressure in the vertex area where the flow had been most expanded. This compressed region spreads in time with two frontal waves, an induced expansion wave and an induced compression wave. They are subsonic waves when the shock–vortex interaction is weak but become supersonic waves for strong interactions. Under a intermediate interaction, however, an induced shock wave is first developed where flow speed is supersonic but is dissipated where the incoming flow is subsonic. We have identified three different interaction patterns that depend on the vortex flow regime characterized by the shock–vortex interaction.   相似文献

Influence of rotation, relaxation times, magnetic field, initial stress and gravity field on attenuation coefficient (Imaginary part of frequency equation root) and Rayleigh waves velocity (the real part of frequency equation root) in an elastic half-space of granular medium is studied. The analytical solution is obtained by using Lame’s potential techniques. The numerical calculations are carried out for the frequency equation of Rayleigh waves velocity. The results are displayed graphically. Some results of previous investigations are deduced as special cases from this study.  相似文献

A finite-difference procedure has been developed for the prediction of three-dimensional rotor blade-vortex interactions. The interaction velocity field was obtained through a non-linear superposition of the rotor flow field, computed using the unsteady three-dimensional Euler equations, and the embedded vortex wake flow field, computed using the law of Biot-Savart. In the Euler model, near wake rotational effects were simulated using the surface velocity ‘transpiration’ approach. As a result, a modified surface boundary condition was prescribed and enforced at each time step of the computations to satisfy the tangency boundary condition. For supercritical interactions using an upstream-generated vortex, accuracy of the numerical results were found to rely on the user-specified vortex core radius and vortex strength. For the more general self-generated subcritical interactions, vortex wake trajectories were computed using the lifting-line helicopter/rotor trim code CAMRAD. For these interactions, accuracy of the results were found to rely heavily on the CAMRAD-predicted vortex strength, vortex orientation with respect to the blade, and to a large extent on the user-specified vortex core radius. Results for the one-seventh scale model OLS rotor and for a non-lifting rectangular blade having a NACA0012 section are presented. Comparisons with the experimental windtunnel data are also made.  相似文献
