Spatial phase-measurement interferometry techniques commonly used in non-destructive testing are affected by a number of fundamental error sources. This paper focuses on the major limitations for phase calculations using standard N-point algorithms. These limitations include: the wrong carrier frequency, unequally spaced fringes, detector non-linearities and variations in the dc fringe intensity. The character and magnitude of these errors are quantified by using computer simulations. A displacement measurement of a bent plate using different algorithms on the same data shows that practical limitations are unequally-spaced fringes and variations in dc intensity and fringe visibility. These errors limit the resolution of this type of measurement to about a tenth of a wave r.m.s.  相似文献

We investigate the properties of the spectral function of the fermionic operator in the field theory which is dual to a 4-dimensional massive gravity. We first study the Fermi surface and the dispersion relation in the dual boundary theory. We find that as the massive parameters is decreased, the Fermi momentum becomes lower and the low energy excitation near Fermi surface behaves more like non-Fermi liquid. Then, we introduce a dipole coupling in the bulk theory and explore the emergence of a gap in the fermionic spectral function. It is found that larger critical dipole coupling is needed to open the gap than that in Einstein gravity. Accordingly, in the field theory dual to massive gravity, it requires stronger negative dipole coupling to generate the marginal Fermi liquid.  相似文献

The amplitude for the scattering of four dual fermions is written down and evaluated in terms of three complicated functions. One of these is then expressed in terms of the other two. The s-channel spectrum is that of the Neveu-Schwarz model, but it is not possible at present to describe the t-channel spectrum. The spinor structure of the amplitude is also discussed.  相似文献

We derive properties of N-extended super Virasoro algebras. These include adding central extensions, identification of all primary fields and the action of the adjoint representation on its dual. The final result suggest identification with the spectrum of fields in supergravity theories and superstring/M-theory constructed from NSR N-extended supersymmetric Virasoro algebras.  相似文献

We show that the correlation functions in a system of gravitating fermions converge as tempered distributions in the thermodynamic limit, if the system is not at the point of phase-transition. The energy as function of entropy and the free energy as function of temperature is calculated rigorously for nonrelativistic fermions with interactions. The large N limit of the O(N) Heisenberg spin system in two dimensions (a lattice version of the non-linear σ-model) is analysed by the collective field technique. A compact expression for the mass gap and the β-function is obtained for arbitrary but fixed gN. The strong and weak coupling limits of this expression correctly reproduce the known results.  相似文献

Several perspectives that can be opened by studying the electroexcitation of the delta via parity-violating electron scattering from nuclei are examined, working within the context of the relativistic Fermi-gas model. A strong enhancement of the left–right asymmetry in the delta sector compared with that in the quasielastic regime is found and the potential to find clear signatures for the axial-vector contributions of the nucleon-to-delta transition to the asymmetry identified at specific low momentum transfer kinematics. Possibilities of probing the deformation of the delta are also explored, and using both the proton and nuclei as targets, the ability to study the asymmetry on neutrons is studied.  相似文献

A non-localizing pulse sequence to quantify the total amount of N-acetylaspartate (NAA) in the whole brain (WBNAA) was introduced recently [Magn. Reson. Med. 40, 684–689 (1998)]. However, it is known that regional magnetic field inhomogeneities, ΔB0s, arising from susceptibility differences at tissue interfaces, shift and broaden local resonances to outside the integration window, leading to an underestimation of the true amount of NAA in the entire brain. To quantify the upper limit of this loss, the whole-head proton MR spectrum (1H-MRS) of the water was integrated over the same frequency width as the NAA. The ratio of this area/total-water-line was 75 ± 5% in 5 volunteers. The procedure was repeated with the brain-only water peak, obtained by summing signals only from voxels within that organ from a three-dimensional chemical-shift-imaging (3D CSI) set. It indicated that <10% of the water signal loss occurred in the brain. Therefore, by analogy, WBNAA accounts for >90% of that metabolite.  相似文献

It is known that exp [iλ (Q1P1i/2)] is a unitary single-mode squeezing operator,where Q1,P1 are the coordinate and momentum operators,respectively.In this paper we employ Dirac’s coordinate representation to prove that the exponential operator S n ≡ exp [iλ sum((QiPi+1+Qi+1Pi))) from i=1 to n ],(Qn+1=Q1,Pn+1=P1),is an n-mode squeezing operator which enhances the standard squeezing.By virtue of the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators we derive S n ’s normally ordered expansion and obtain new n-mode squeezed vacuum states,its Wigner function is calculated by using the Weyl ordering invariance under similar transformations.  相似文献

In the last decade, it was shown that the Liouville field theory is an effective theory of Dirac fermions in the random gauge potential (FRGP). We show that the Dirac wave functions in FRGP can be written in terms of descendents of the Liouville vertex operator. In the quasiclassical approximation of the Liouville theory, our model predicts that the localization length ξ scales with the energy E as $ \xi \sim E^{{{ - b^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{ - b^2 } {(1 + b^2 )^2 }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {(1 + b^2 )^2 }}} $ \xi \sim E^{{{ - b^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{ - b^2 } {(1 + b^2 )^2 }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {(1 + b^2 )^2 }}} , where b is the strength of the disorder. The self-duality of the theory under the transformation b → 1/b is discussed. We also calculate the distribution functions of t 0 =|ψ 0(x)|2, (i.e. p(t 0); ψ 0(x) is the ground state wave function), which behaves as the log-normal distribution function. It is also shown that in small t 0, p(t 0) behaves as a chi-square distribution.  相似文献

We study the Chern-Simons CP(N) models with a global U(1) symmetry and found the self-dual models among them. The Bogomolnyi-type bound in these self-dual models is a nontrivial generalization of that in the pure CP(N) models. Our models have quite a rich vacuum and soliton structure and approach the many known gauged self-dual models in an appropriate limit.  相似文献

We formulate general interactions of an N=2 Yang-Mills supermultiplet coupled to N=2 supergravity in terms of N=1 invariant functions. We show that the N=2 scalar potential of the complex scalar fields in the adjoint representation, superpartners of the Yang-Mills gauge fields, splits into a conventional gauge contribution as well as in a superpotential term contribution proportional to the SO(2) gauge coupling of N=2 de Sitter supergravity. The relation of these results to the σ model structure of N4 extended supergravities is also discussed, particularly in connection with the coset disintegration of scalar manifolds.  相似文献

It is shown that hyperbolic systems of Sutherland spin 1/2 particles in an external field with the Morse potential characterized by parameter τ2 have a discrete part of their spectrum in the case of a particular constraint on the τ, parameter of two-particle interaction λ, and the number of particles. The ground state is described by a Jastrow wave function. The results known for systems with an interaction inversely proportional to the squared distance between particles are reproduced in the limit τ → ∞.  相似文献
