We propose a theory that makes it possible to examine both laser and micromaser two-photon light generation. The theory is based on the Lamb-Scully model, in which two-level atoms have initial coherence. Such an initial state allows for light generation involving atoms without inversion or even atoms with negative population inversion in the transition. We analyze the conditions needed for the emergence of squeezed states of the light field. We also show that the photon statistics in lasing is always classical but that there appears a state of the field squeezed in the phase with maximum photodetection shot-noise suppression. For a micromaser we find a regime where sub-Poisson light with a shot-noise suppression level of 60% is realized in an inversionless transition. 本文扼要地介绍了光子数态、热光场态、相干态、压缩态、相位态和中间态等。重点是介绍它们的物理性质。例如,指出相干态在谐振子座标表象中的表示就是带电谐振子在均匀电场中的基态波函数;它的时间演化波包的概率密度分布,形状不随时间变但中心位置随时间作周期振荡。文中对相干态和压缩态等提供了也许是一点新的看法:将相干态、压缩真空态、压缩相干态和相干压缩态等看作是一准玻色子的基态或相干态。而实现的手段可以是原来的幺正算符也可以是投影算符。这样的好处是:(1)对相干态和压缩态间的联系有更深的认识;(2)便于计算和进一步展开等等。文中还对各个态的压缩性、统计性等作了介绍,有的还用图表等演示了它们的非类经典特性。最后,文中还介绍了准概率分布函数、相空间技术以及它们的应用并给出了示例  相似文献

In this paper, tunnelling dynamics of squeezed Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC's) in the presence of the nonlinear self-interaction of each species, the interspecies nonlinear interaction, and the Josephson-like tunnelling interaction is investigated by using the second quantization approach. The influence of BEC squeezing on macroscopic quantum self-trapping (MQST) and quantum coherent atomic tunnelling is analyzed in detail. It is shown that the MQST and coherent atomic tunnelling between two squeezed BEC's can be manipulated through changing squeezing amplitude and squeezing phase of BEC squeezed states.  相似文献

Using an annihilation operator, coherent states related to the electron of graphene layer placed in a magnetic field, can be obtained. In this paper, we define even and odd superposed graphene coherent states and then, we consider their entanglement, squeezing and statistical properties. To study the entanglement, we use concurrence. The results show that odd superposed graphene coherent states are maximally entangled states for all values of coherence parameter. However, the entanglement of graphene coherent states and also even superposed depend on the coherence parameter. In addition, examining the Mandel parameter shows sub-Poissonian statistics for graphene coherent states and their odd superposition; while, even superposed states do not show sub-Poissonian statistics at all. Also, we find that graphene coherent states and even superposition may be squeezed while the odd states do not show squeezing.  相似文献

借助于Pegg-Barnett相位算符理论和数值计算方法,研究了增光子奇偶相干态的相位概率分布,在此基础之上,讨论了有关数算符和相位算符的压缩特性。结果表明,增光子奇偶相干态的相位概率分布与通常的奇偶相干态、非线性相干态不同,在这种新的奇偶相干态中,其Pegg-Barnett相位概率分布能明显地反映出不同的量子相位信息和干涉特性。同时发现,在参量α的某些不同的取值范围内,增光子奇偶相干态在数算符和相位算符分量上均存在压缩效应。  相似文献

In this paper, by using the parity operator as well as the nonlinear displacement-type operator, we define new operators which by the action of them on the vacuum state of the radiation field, superposition of two nonlinear coherent states and two-mode entangled nonlinear coherent states are generated. A scheme is proposed to generate arbitrary, discrete superpostions of squeezed coherent states of the squeezed center of mass of $N$ trapped ions along a straight line in phase space. The scheme is based on a resonant bichromatic excitation of each trapped ion that generates displacement and squeezing in the vibrational motion conditioned to each internal state. In this paper, we also show that such a method can be used for the engineering of motional quantum states.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce two new classes of nonlinear squeezed states that we name as f-deformed squeezed vacuum state|ξ, f even and f-deformed squeezed first excited state |ξ, f odd, which according to their production processes, essentially include only even and odd bases of Fock space, respectively. In the continuation, we introduce the superposition of these two distinct nonlinear squeezed states with a respective phase ?. Then, some of the criteria which imply the nonclassicality of the states, such as Mandel parameter, second-order correlation function, quadrature squeezing, amplitude-squared squeezing, Husimi and Wigner–Weyl quasi-distribution functions, are numerically examined. At last, by considering a well-known nonlinearity function associated with a nonlinear physical system, we present our results which outcome from the numerical calculations. It is shown that, the introduced f-deformed states can reveal high nonclassical features.  相似文献

A scheme has been proposed for generating the macroscopic superpositions and the entanglement between the mesoscopic squeezed vacuum states by considering the two-photon interaction of N two-level atoms in a dissipative cavity with high quality factor assisted by a strong driving field. A number of multiparty entangled states between the atoms and the squeezed vacuum states, among the atoms, and among the squeezed vacuum states, can be prepared by virtue of a specific choice of the cavity detuning and the detuning of applied coherent field under the dissipation condition. The corresponding analytical expressions of the influence can be given. Moreover, we can also give a series of macroscopic entangled states between the usual coherent states and the squeezed vacuum states using the combination of the dissipative one-photon interaction Hamiltonian with the dissipative two-photon interaction Hamiltonian. We also discuss the experimental feasibility. Our scheme can be realized in the current techniques on the cavity QED.  相似文献

The nonlinear extensions of the single-mode squeezed vacuum and squeezed coherent states are studied. We have constructed the nonlinear squeezed states (NLSS's) realization of SU(1,1) Lie algebra. Two cases of this realization are considered for unitary and non-unitary deformation operator function. The nonlinear squeezed coherent states (NLSCS's) are defined and special cases of these states are obtained. Some nonclassical properties of these states are discussed. The s-parameterized characteristic function and various moments are calculated. The Glauber second-order coherence function is calculated. The squeezing properties of the NLSCS's are studied. Analytical and numerical results for the quadrature component distributions for the NLSCS's are presented. A generation scheme for NLSCS's using the trapped ions centre-of-mass motion approach is proposed.  相似文献

In bosonic fields, Gaussian states, which consist of a rather wide family of states including coherent states, squeezed states, thermal states, etc., have many classical-like features, and are usually defined from the mathematical perspective in terms of characteristic functions. It is well known that some special Gaussian states, such as coherent states, are minimum uncertainty states for the conventional Heisenberg uncertainty relation involving canonical pair of position and momentum observables. A natural question arises as whether all Gaussian states can be characterized as minimum uncertainty states. In this work, we show that indeed Gaussian states coincide with minimum uncertainty states for an information-theoretic refinement of the conventional uncertainty relation established in Luo (2005) [40]. This characterization puts Gaussian states on a novel basis of physical significance.  相似文献

The phase properties of the superposed squeezed states are studied. The superposed squeezed states are obtained by inserting two squeezers in a Mach-Zehnder interferometer one for each arm. The visibility of the states as a measure of the coherence of the generated photons in the nonlinear interferometer is analyzed. And the mean-square phase fluctuations are also considered to analyze the phase properties of the superposed squeezed states. The quantities are obtained as a function of gain and the input phase, when the amplified input is a coherent state, a number state, a thermal state, a displaced number state, or a coherent thermal state.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the effect of cooperative atomic interactions, cavity losses, and pump fluctuations on quantum phase properties of the field in a one-photon micromaser. We consider, initial coherent state of the radiation field and atoms initially in the excited and coherent superposition of their atomic states, respectively. We find that quantum phase properties of the field in a micromaser are highly sensitive to two-atom events and cavity losses. Both contribute to the randomization of the well-defined phase structure associated with the initial coherent state. However, the approach towards the randomization is quite different in the two cases. We also find that the fluctuations, associated with the random injection of the atoms, affect the phase structure of the coherent state.  相似文献

The quantum dynamics of the mean number of photons and quantum entropy of interacting modes, as well as the Wigner function of the stationary state of the fundamental mode and the third subharmonic mode has been investigated for the intracavity third-subharmonic generation. It is shown that the quantum dynamics of the system depends strongly on the nonlinear coupling coefficient between the modes. It is also demonstrated that, in the steady-state limit, depending on the intermodal coupling coefficient, the fundamental mode can be either in a pure coherent state, or in a squeezed state, or in a pure vacuum state. The third subharmonic mode in the subthreshold regime of generation of this mode is in the vacuum state. The Wigner function is squeezed over three sides of an equilateral triangle (squeezed vacuum). The quantum entropy of this state is nonzero. It is also shown that the third subharmonic mode, depending on the nonlinear coupling coefficient in the steady-state limit, can be localized in the three-component state with the same probability of detecting a field in each coherent component of the state and with the presence of quantummechanical interference between the state components. The mean number of photons in this state is smaller than unity. Depending on the nonlinear coupling coefficient, the third subharmonic mode can also be localized in the three-component state, which is a statistical mixture of three squeezed states.  相似文献
