Diol capped γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles are prepared from ferric nitrate by refluxing in 1,4-butanediol (9.5 nm) and 1,5-pentanediol (15 nm) and uncapped particles are prepared by refluxing in 1,2-propanediol followed by sintering the alkoxide formed. X-ray diffraction (XRD) shows that all the samples have the spinel phase. Raman spectroscopy shows that the samples prepared in 1,4-butanediol and 1,5-pentanediol and 1,2-propanediol (sintered at 573 and 673 K) are γ-Fe2O3 and the 773 K-sintered sample is Fe3O4. Raman laser studies carried out at various laser powers show that all the samples undergo laser-induced degradation to α-Fe2O3 at higher laser power. The capped samples are however, found more stable to degradation than the uncapped samples. The stability of γ-Fe2O3 sample with large particle size (15.4 nm) is more than the sample with small particle size (10.2 nm). Fe3O4 having a particle size of 48 nm is however less stable than the smaller γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles.  相似文献

Poly(3-thiophene acetic acid)/Fe3O4 nanocomposite is synthesized by the precipitation of Fe3O4 in the presence of poly(3-thiophene acetic acid) (P3TAA). Structural, surface, morphological, thermal properties and conductivity characterization/evaluation of the nanocomposite were performed by XRD, FT-IR, TEM, TGA, and conductivity measurements, respectively. The capping of P3TAA around Fe3O4 nanoparticles was confirmed by FT-IR spectroscopy, the interaction being via bridging oxygens of the carboxylate and the nanoparticle surface through bidentate binding. The crystallite and particle size were obtained as 9 ± 2 nm and 11 ± 1 nm from XRD line profile fitting and TEM image analysis, respectively, which reveal nearly single crystalline nature of Fe3O4 nanoparticles. Magnetization measurements reveal that P3TAA coated magnetite particles do not saturate at higher fields. There is no coercivity and remanence revealing superparamagnetic character. Magnetic particle size calculated from the theoretical fitting as 9.1 nm which coincides the values determined from TEM micrographs and XRD line profile fitting. The comparison to the TEM particle size reveals slightly modified magnetically dead nanoparticle surface.  相似文献

Poly(vinyl phosphonic acid) (PVPA)-Fe3O4 nanocomposite is synthesized by the precipitation of Fe3O4 in the presence of PVPA. Structural, surface, morphological, thermal properties and conductivity characterization/evaluation of the nanocomposite were performed by XRD, FT-IR, TEM, TGA and conductivity measurements respectively. The capping of PVPA around the Fe3O4 nanoparticles was confirmed by FT-IR spectroscopy, the interaction being via bridging oxygens of the phosphate and the nanoparticle surface. The crystallite and particle size were obtained as 6 ± 2 and 8.7 ± 0.1 nm from XRD line profile fitting and TEM image analysis respectively, which reveal nearly single crystalline nature of the Fe3O4 nanoparticles. Magnetic characterization of the bulk magnetite and (PVPA)-Fe3O4 nanocomposite reveals that both are in the superparamagnetic state at room temperature. The average magnetic domain size of the nanoparticles has been calculated using the Langevin function, which was fitted to the measured M-H hysteresis curves as 7.6 nm for the nanocomposite. In the nanocomposite, the reduction is due to the adsorption of PVPA onto the magnetite surface, which cancels some of the free spins at the surface causing a magnetically dead layer. Analysis of the conductivity and permittivity measurements revealed the coupling of ionic and polymer segmental motions and strong temperature dependency in the nanocomposite.  相似文献

The BaMoO4 nanopowders were prepared by the Complex Polymerization Method (CPM). The structure properties of the BaMoO4 powders were characterized by FTIR transmittance spectra, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectra, photoluminescence spectra (PL) and high-resolution scanning electron microscopy (HR-SEM). The XRD, FTIR and Raman data showed that BaMoO4 at 300 °C was disordered. At 400 °C and higher temperature, BaMoO4 crystalline scheelite-type phases could be identified, without the presence of additional phases, according to the XRD, FTIR and Raman data. The calculated average crystallite sizes, calculated by XRD, around 40 nm, showed the tendency to increase with the temperature. The crystallite sizes, obtained by HR-SEM, were around of 40-50 nm. The sample that presented the highest intensity of the red emission band was the one heat treated at 400 °C for 2 h, and the sample that displayed the highest intensity of the green emission band was the one heat treated at 700 °C for 2 h. The CPM was shown to be a low cost route for the production of BaMoO4 nanopowders, with the advantages of lower temperature, smaller time and reduced cost. The optical properties observed for BaMoO4 nanopowders suggested that this material is a highly promising candidate for photoluminescent applications.  相似文献

The porous hierarchical spherical Co3O4 assembled by nanosheets have been successfully fabricated. The porosity and the particle size of the product can be controlled by simply altering calcination temperature. SEM, TEM and SAED were performed to confirm that mesoporous Co3O4 nanostructures are built-up by numerous nanoparticles with random attachment. The BET specific surface area and pore size of the product calcined at 280 °C are 72.5 m2 g−1 and 4.6 nm, respectively. Our experiments further demonstrated that electrochemical performances of the synthesized products working as an anode material of lithium-ion battery are strongly dependent on the porosity.  相似文献

With an average diameter of 100-150 nm, composite nanotubes of polyaniline (PANI)/multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) containing Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by a two-step method. First, we synthesized monodispersed Fe3O4 NPs (d=17.6 nm, σ=1.92 nm) on the surface of MWNTs and then decorated the nanocomposites with a PANI layer via a self-assembly method. SEM and TEM images indicated that the obtained samples had the morphologies of nanotubes. The molecular structure and composition of MWNTs/Fe3O4 NPs/PANI nanotubes were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR), energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDX), X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectra. UV-vis spectra confirmed the existence of PANI and its response to acid and alkali. As a multifunctional material, the conductivity and magnetic properties of MWNTs/Fe3O4 NPs/PANI composites nanotubes were also investigated.  相似文献

Synthesis of submicrometer crystalline particles of cobalt carbonate was achieved hydrothermally using different cobalt salts and urea with a molar ratio from 1:3 to 1:20 (cobalt salt:urea) in aqueous solutions at 160 °C for 24-36 h, in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a surfactant. Nanoparticles of Co3O4, with an average size from 30 to 39 nm, were obtained by thermal decomposition of CoCO3 samples at 500 °C for 3 h in an electrical furnace. The as-synthesized products were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-Vis spectra and thermal analysis. Studying the optical properties of the as-prepared cobalt oxide nanoparticles showed the presence of two band gaps, the values of which confirmed the semiconducting properties of the prepared Co3O4.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline lanthanum hexaboride (LaB6) with mean particle size of 30 nm has been successfully synthesized at 400 °C in an autoclave starting from metallic magnesium powder, NaBH4 and LaCl3. In this case, by using B2O3 instead of NaBH4, LaB6 nanocubes with mean size of ∼200 nm were formed at 500 °C. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern can be indexed as cubic LaB6 with the lattice constant of a=4.151 Å for LaB6 nanoparticles and 4.154 Å for LaB6 nanocubes. An atomic ratio of La and B as 1:5.94 was determined from EDS for LaB6 nanoparticles. XPS data of LaB6 nanocubes indicate the atomic ratio of La to B as 1:5.95. Raman spectra indicate the formation of LaB6.  相似文献

To obtain a recyclable surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) material, we developed a composite of Fe3O4\SiO2\Ag with core\shell\particles structure. The designed particles were synthesized via an ultrasonic route. The Raman scattering signal of Fe3O4 could be shielded by increasing the thickness of the SiO2 layer to 60 nm. Dye rhodamine B (RB) was chosen as probe molecule to test the SERS effect of the synthesized Fe3O4\SiO2\Ag particles. On the synthesized Fe3O4\SiO2\Ag particles, the characteristic Raman bands of RB could be observed when the RB solution was diluted to 5 ppm (1×10−5 M). Furthermore, the synthesized particles could keep their efficiency till four cycles.  相似文献

Nanoscale Lu2O3:Eu powders were prepared by solution combustion synthesis. X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-resolution electronic microscope (HREM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), excitation and emission spectra, as well as fluorescent decay curves were measured to characterize the structure and luminescent properties of the samples. The results show that the compound of composition Lu2O3 crystallizes in pure cubic structure. By changing the ratio of glycine to nitrate in the combustion process, the particle size varies from 40 nm to less than 5 nm. The emission and excitation spectra strongly depend on the particle size of the samples. Novel emission band, red-shift of charge transfer band (CTB) and shortening of lifetime were observed in nanoscale samples.  相似文献

We have presented a method for the fabrication of poly(3-thiophenyl acetic acid) (P3TAA)-BaFe12O19 nanocomposites by the in situ polymerization of P3TAA in the presence of synthesized BaFe12O19 nanoparticles. The nanoparticles and the nanocomposite were analyzed by XRD, FTIR, TGA, TEM, VSM and conductivity techniques for structural and physicochemical characteristics. Crystallographic analysis revealed the phase as hexaferrite and X-ray line profile fitting yielded a crystallite size of 32 nm. The particles, observed by TEM, exhibit irregular shapes and sizes between 100 and 500 nm, revealing polycrystalline character when compared with the crystallite size from XRD. FTIR and TGA analysis results show that P3TAA is conjugated to the particle surface via a carboxylate group and that the composite has a polymer content of ∼10%. Magnetic hysteresis curves do not saturate at high fields, which is a characteristic feature of fine particle systems with grain sizes smaller than 1 μm. Conductivity measurements showed a semiconductor character of the nanocomposite.  相似文献

Raman spectroscopy complimented by infrared spectroscopy has been used to study the mineral hemimorphite from different origins. The Raman spectra show consistently similar spectra with only one sample showing additional bands due to the presence of smithsonite. Raman bands observed at 3510–3565 and 3436–3455 cm−1 are assigned to OH stretching vibrations. Using a Libowitzky type formula, these OH bands provide hydrogen bond distances of 0.2910, 0.2825, 0.2762 and 0.2716 pm. Water bending modes are observed in the Raman spectrum at 1633 cm−1. An intense Raman band at 930 cm−1 is attributed to SiO symmetric stretching vibration of the Si2O7 units. Raman bands observed at 451 and 400 cm−1are attributed to out-of-plane bending vibrations of the Si2O7 units. Raman bands at 330, 280, 168 and 132 cm−1 are assigned to ZnO and OZnO vibrations.  相似文献

ZrO2 nanoparticles were synthesized through arc discharge of zirconium electrodes in deionized (DI) water. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of the as prepared nanoparticles indicates formation a mixture of nanocrystalline ZrO2 monoclinic and tetragonal phase structures. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images illustrate spherical ZrO2 nanoparticles with 7–30 nm diameter range, which were formed during the discharge process with 10 A arc current. The average particle size was found to increase with the increasing arc current. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis confirms formation of ZrO2 at the surface of the nanoparticles. Surface area of the sample prepared at 10 A arc current, measured by BET analysis, was 44 m2/g. Photodegradation of Rhodamine B (Rh. B) shows that the prepared samples at lower currents have a higher photocatalytic activity due to larger surface area and smaller particle size.  相似文献

Electro-oxidation of methanol in sulfuric acid solution was studied using palladium well-dispersed on titanium nanotubes, in relation to methanol oxidation processes in the direct oxidation methanol fuel cell. Pd dispersed on titania nanotubes, which leads to high surface area substrates, showed excellent catalytic activities compared to those of pure Pd and Pd-TiO2 nanoparticles. TEM results show a narrow distribution of TiO2 nanoparticles whose particle size is about 10 nm, and uniform nano-sized TiO2 nanotubes with 10 nm in diameters are seen from HRTEM . A homogeneous structure in the composite nanomaterials is indicated by XRD analysis. The composite electrode activities were measured by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and at 25 °C it was found that 3 wt% Pd in titania nanotubes had the best activity for methanol oxidation.  相似文献

PMMA/Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 nanocomposite with superparamagnetic behavior was synthesized by in situ emulsion polymerization of methylmethacrylate (MMA) monomer in the presence of Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 colloidal suspension assisted by ultrasonic irradiation. The obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). XRD and FT-IR spectra confirmed the formation of PMMA/Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 nanocomposite. TEM images showed that Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles with the particle sizes of about 12 nm were well dispersed in the polymer matrix. The nanocomposite at room temperature exhibited superparamagnetic behavior under applied magnetic field. The formation mechanism of PMMA/Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 nanocomposite was proposed as well.  相似文献

This paper developed a novel method, the rheological phase reaction method, to synthesize nanospherical Fe3BO6. The sizes and morphologies of products vary with the calcination temperatures. Spherical particles with a uniform size about 40 nm in a monodisperse state were obtained at 800 °C, while the spherical particles with a larger size of 100-500 nm were obtained at 900 °C. The electrochemical properties of these Fe3BO6 nanospheres were investigated. Sample synthesized at 800 °C delivers a high reversible capacity above 500 mAh g−1. Sample synthesized at 900 °C possesses relatively good cycleability with a capacity retaining of 376 mAh g−1 after 10 cycles. The measurement of electrochemical impedance spectra for the first time indicated that smaller Fe3BO6 nanoparticles intend to give higher impedance of solid-electrolyte interface layer and lower charge-transfer impedance after the first discharge. Additionally, it can be speculated that the increase of resistance charge-transfer is the possible reason for the capacity fading during cycling.  相似文献

Perovskite type LaCoxFe1−xO3 nanoparticles was synthesized by a sol-gel citrate method. The structural, electrical and sensing characteristics of the LaCoxFe1−xO3 system were investigated. The structural characteristics were performed by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to examine the phase and morphology of the resultant powder. The XRD pattern shows nanocrystalline solid solution of LaCoxFe1−xO3 with perovskite phase. Electrical properties of synthesized nanoparticles are studied by DC conductivity measurement. The sensor shows high response towards ammonia gas in spite of other reducing gases when x = 0.8. The effect of 0.3 wt.% Pd-doped LaCo0.8Fe0.2O3 on the response and a recovery time was also addressed.  相似文献

NiO nanoparticles with an average size of 15 nm were easily prepared via the thermal decomposition of the tris(ethylenediamine)Ni(II) nitrate complex [Ni(en)3](NO3)2 as a new precursor at low temperature, and the nanoparticles were characterized by thermal analysis (TGA/DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV-Vis spectroscopy, BET specific surface area measurement, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and magnetic measurements. The magnetic measurements confirm that the product shows a ferromagnetic behavior at room temperature, which may be ascribed to a size confinement effect. The NiO nanoparticles prepared by this method could be an appropriate photocatalytic material due to a strong absorption band at 325 nm. This method is simple, fast, safe, low-cost and also suitable for industrial production of high purity NiO nanoparticles for applied purposes.  相似文献

Nanosize nickel-substituted cobalt ferrites were prepared using aerosol route and characterized by TEM, XRD, magnetic and Mössbauer spectroscopy. The particle size of as obtained samples was found to be ∼10 nm which increases upto ∼80 nm on annealing at 1200 °C. The unit cell parameter ‘a’ decreases linearly with the nickel concentration due to smaller ionic radius of nickel. The saturation magnetization for all the samples after annealing at 1200 °C lies in the range 47.6-84.5 emu/g. Room temperature Mössbauer spectra of as obtained samples exhibit a broad doublet, suggesting super paramagnetic nature of the sample. The broad doublet is further resolved into two doublets corresponding to the iron atoms residing at the surface and internal regions of the particle. The samples annealed at 1200 °C showed broad sextet, which is resolved into two sextets, corresponding to tetrahedrally and octahedrally coordinated Fe cations. Cation distribution calculated using XRD and Mössbauer data indicates a decrease in Fe3+(oct.)/Fe3+(tet.) ratio with increasing nickel concentration.  相似文献

A polycrystalline sample of Pr18Li8Fe4RuO39 has been synthesized by a solid state method and characterized by neutron powder diffraction, magnetometry and Mössbauer spectroscopy; samples of Pr18Li8Fe5−xMnxO39 and Pr18Li8Fe5−xCoxO39 (x=1, 2) have been studied by magnetometry. All these compounds adopt a cubic structure (space group , a0∼11.97 Å) based on intersecting 〈111〉 chains made up of alternating octahedral and trigonal-prismatic coordination sites. These chains occupy channels within a Pr-O framework. The trigonal-prismatic site in Pr18Li8Fe4RuO39 is occupied by Li+ and high-spin Fe3+. The remaining transition-metal cations occupy the two crystallographically-distinct octahedral sites in a disordered manner. All five compositions adopt a spin-glass-like state at 7 K (Pr18Li8Fe4RuO39) or below.  相似文献
