It is well known that ammonium halide (NH4X) crystals, on -exposure, store energy in the form of primary and secondary radiolytic products. Such crystals on dissolution in aqueous iodide and nitrate solutions result in oxidation of iodide and reduction of nitrate, respectively. The yields of iodine and nitrite are determined by chemical methods under varying conditions of the amount, dose and particle size of the irradiated ammonium halide salts. The maximum values of the efficiency of energy transfer for oxidation and reduction processes for ammonium halide salts correspond to 40% and 10%, respectively. At low doses, an empirical relation proposed between the percent efficiency of energy transfer and the absorbed dose is valid. The concentrations of inherent oxidizing and reducing species initially present are 7.0×1018 and 1.0×1018 per mol of ammonium halide, respectively.  相似文献

The -radiolysis of Methyl Red solution in HCl medium at pH=2 has been studied along with energy transfer reaction brought about byF and hole centers of -irradiated NaCl. The G-values for degradation of the azo dye indicator by radiolysis and -irradiated salt were determined as 9·10–1 and 4.8·10–3, respectively. The kinetic rate constants (k) of degradation are evaluated as 2·10–5 rad–1 in the case of direct radiolysis, while for the irradiated salt it is 2·10–7 rad–1. The extent of degradation by direct -radiolysis is 100–200 times greater as compared to that by the -irradiated salt. The same mechanism is proposed for radiolysis as well as the reaction induced by -irradiated sodium chloride.  相似文献

From electron paramagnetic resonance and thermally stimulated luminescence studies of γ-irradiated UO2+2 :SrSO4, thermally stimulated reactions between H atoms and SO4 have been identified as being responsible for the luminescence glow at 380 K. Close to this temperature, the EPR spectrum of hydrogen exhibits features compatible with chemically induced dynamic nuclear polarisation (CIDNP) suggesting that this reaction proceeds via the formation of radical pairs.  相似文献

A comparative study on -radiolysis and energy transfer reaction induced by -irradiated sodium chloride in azo-dye indicators, viz. Methyl Orange and Methyl Red are undertaken. These indicators undergo degradation following first order kinetics, the determined rate constants being 1.05·10–8 rad–1 for Methyl Orange and 5.00·10–7 rad–1 for Methyl Red, respectively. TheG-values are also determined and are found to be lower for Methyl Orange (8.60·10–6) and higher for Methyl Red (4.05·10–3), suggesting that the former is more resistent to radiation degradation as compared to the latter.  相似文献

In the system Na3PO4Na2SO4, the high-temperature, cubic γ form of Na3PO4 forms an extensive range of solid solutions: Na3−x(P1−xSx)O4, 0 < x < (0.57 to 0.70, depending on temperature). For compositions in the range x = ca. 0.33 to 0.57, these γ solid solutions are thermodynamically stable at all temperatures. The conductivity of the γ solid solutions increases with increasing x and reaches a maximum at x = 0.5 to 0.6, with values of 2 × 10−5 ohm−1 cm−1 at 100°C, rising to 1.3 × 10−2 ohm−1 cm−1 by 300°C; this conductivity increase with x is attributed to an increase in the sodium ion vacancy concentration, associated with the solid solution mechanism Na + PS. The phase diagram for the system Na3PO4Na2SO4 is given together with lattice parameters of the γ solid solutions.  相似文献

The solubility of strontium sulfate in the mixtures of isomolar LiClO4(NaClO4) and HClO4 aqueous solutions was determined at 25°C and ionic strengths of I = 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0. At I>-2, the solubility of SrSO4 as a function of the hydrogen ion (HClO4) concentration passes through a maximum, clearly showing a substantial contribution from environment effects (H+ substitution for Li+ or Na+), which counteract complexation (i.e., HSO 4 ? formation). A correct method for separating these two effects was proposed, and the parameters of the environment effect and the standard values of pSP° and logβ° were evaluated.  相似文献

The electrical conductivity of pure and Mn-doped MgAl2O4 spinel has been studied in nitrogen atmosphere as a function of temperature. The conduction process is explained by the motion of cation vacancies in each of -irradiated and unirradiated samples. Radiation indicator as well as radiation shielding of extremely high dose have been proposed. Three different types of a-SiO2 namely, G1-xerogel, G2-fused and G3-natural silica were monitored by EPR before and after γ-irradiation. The E′-center has been used for EPR radiation characterization of a-SiO2 with assuming that the signal intensity changes with γ-irradiation differently as those of other EPR signals do. Formation and decay of the E′-center are closely related with its precursor, diamagnetic oxygen vacancies. Gamma ray of large dose (500 kGy) creates oxygen vacancies giving up-and-down irradiation effects, which, therefore, might be useful for high dose radiation indicator (G1) and radiation shielding (G2 and G3).  相似文献

Methanol and 2-propanol solutions of hydroxymaleimide were irradiated with γ-ray and mechanism of its γ-irradiation-induced reactions was investigated through final-product analyses using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with mass spectroscopy. An addition reaction of a solvent radical toward hydroxymaleimide was dominant among its oxygen-free γ-irradiation-induced reactions in its alcohol solutions while it is known that electron attachment toward hydroxyphthalimide or hydroxysuccinimide is dominant among their γ-irradiation-induced reactions. The radical adduct abstracts hydrogen from solvent molecule to re-produce a solvent radical. Therefore, the degradation efficiency of hydroxymaleimide was more than ten times larger than that of hydroxyphthalimide and hydroxysuccinimide. Dimer was also produced through electron attachment process in the solutions of hydroxymaleimide. In addition, it was found that the degradation efficiency increased with decrease in dose rate. An additional reaction of a solvent radical toward hydroxymaleimide competes with a radical–radical recombination. The latter was reduced, with the former leading to efficient degradation of hydroxymaleimide increased by irradiation at lower dose rate. On the contrary, the production yield of the adduct radical as well as the degradation efficiency of hydroxymaleimide was inhibited in the presence of oxygen.  相似文献

Dissociative electron attachment on an effusive beam of Na2 is studied in the energy range 0–10 eV. A single Na process is observed at a peak energy of 0.05 ± 0.05 eV. The attachment seems to concern mainly rovibrationally excited Na2. An absolute energy-integrated cross section of (3.6 ± 1.8) × 10−18 cm2 eV is determined by comparison with the known Na positive-ionization cross section.  相似文献

A new adsorbent, ammonium sulfamate-bacterial cellulose (ASBC), was prepared through chemical modifications of bacterial cellulose. The process of adsorbing Cr(Ⅵ) including its isotherm and kinetics, was measured and studied. The results showed that pH value was a very important parameter to the adsorbing efficiency. The adsorption kinetics can be described by a pseudo-second rate model and a particle diffusion equation. Both physical and chemical adsorptions existed in the adsorption process, but chemical adsorption was more dominatant. And particles internal diffusion was not the only rate controlling step. The adsorption equilibrium can be described by the Langmuir type, which indicated that a typical single-molecule layer adsorption of Cr(Ⅵ) by ASBC could be described. And the rate of adsorption followed the Slips model well, which indicated that ASBC had some multiphase and asymmetry. The coordination adsorption and ion exchange effect were the main mechanisms of chemical adsorption. The absorbed Cr(Ⅵ) can be desorbed effectively by 0.5 mol/L EDTA or HCl from the adsorbent, which could make it be reusable.  相似文献

Phase equilibria of the Na,K,Mg,Na,K,Mg,Ca//SO4,Cl-H2O system are studied at 50°C via translation in the crystallization range of glaserite (3K2SO4 · Na2SO4). It is found that glaserite as the equilibrium phase of the investigated system at 50°C participates in the formation of 21 invariant points, 21 monovariant curves, and 34 divariant fields. A fragment of the phase equilibria diagram of the investigated system is constructed in the crystallization range of glaserite.  相似文献

The polythermal diagram of the ternary system H2ONa2HPO4Na2SO4 has been established, setting up nine isotherms obtained between 0 and 25°C by conductimetric analysis. The solubility domains of the various solid phases have been determined. One eutectic, three stable and one metastable transitional transformations have been observed.
