The time-resolved production of HO2 in the Cl-initiated oxidation of iso- and n-butane is measured using continuous-wave (CW) infrared frequency modulation spectroscopy between 298 and 693 K. The yield of HO2 is determined relative to the Cl2/CH3OH/O2 system. As in studies of smaller alkanes, the branching fraction to HO2 + alkene in butyl + O2 displays a dramatic rise with increasing temperature between about 550 and 700 K (the "transition region") which is accompanied by a qualitative change in the time behavior of the HO2 production. At low temperatures the HO2 is formed promptly; a second, slower production of HO2 is responsible for the bulk of the increased yield in the transition temperature region. In contrast to reactions of smaller alkyl radicals with O2, the total HO2 yield in the butyl radical reactions appears to remain significantly below 1 up to 700 K, implying a significant role for OH-producing channels. The slower HO2 production in butane oxidation displays an apparent activation energy similar to that measured for smaller alkyl + O2 reactions, suggesting that the energetics of the HO2 elimination transition state are similar for a broad range of R + O2 systems. A combination of QCISD(T) based characterizations of the propyl and butyl + O2 potential energy surfaces and master equation based characterization of the propyl + O2 kinetics provide the framework for explanation of the experimentally observed HO2 production in Cl-initiated propane and butane oxidation. These calculations suggest that the HO2 elimination channel is similar in all reaction systems, and that hydroperoxyalkyl (QOOH) species produced by internal H-atom abstraction in RO2 can provide a path to OH formation. However, the QOOH formed by the energetically favorable 1,5 isomerization (via a six-membered ring transition state) generally experiences significant barriers (relative to the radical + O2 reactants) to the production of an oxetane + OH. In contrast, the barriers to forming OH + an oxirane or an oxolane, via 1,4 or 1,6 isomerizations, respectively, are generally below reactants.  相似文献

Variational transition state analysis was performed on the barrierless phenyl + O2 and phenoxy + O association reactions. In addition, we also calculated rate constants for the related vinyl radical (C2H3) + O2 and vinoxy radical (C2H3O) + O reactions and provided rate constant estimates for analogous reactions in substituted aromatic systems. Potential energy scans along the dissociating C-OO and CO-O bonds (with consideration of C-OO internal rotation) were obtained at the O3LYP/6-31G(d) density functional theory level. The CO-O and C-OO bond scission reactions were observed to be barrierless, in both phenyl and vinyl systems. Potential energy wells were scaled by G3B3 reaction enthalpies to obtain accurate activation enthalpies. Frequency calculations were performed for all reactants and products and at points along the potential energy surfaces, allowing us to evaluate thermochemical properties as a function of temperature according to the principles of statistical mechanics and the rigid rotor harmonic oscillator (RRHO) approximation. The low-frequency vibrational modes corresponding to R-OO internal rotation were omitted from the RRHO analysis and replaced with a hindered internal rotor analysis using O3LYP/6-31G(d) rotor potentials. Rate constants were calculated as a function of temperature (300-2000 K) and position from activation entropies and enthalpies, according to canonical transition state theory; these rate constants were minimized with respect to position to obtain variational rate constants as a function of temperature. For the phenyl + O2 reaction, we identified the transition state to be located at a C-OO bond length of between 2.56 and 2.16 A (300-2000 K), while for the phenoxy + O reaction, the transition state was located at a CO-O bond length of 2.00-1.90 A. Variational rate constants were fit to a three-parameter form of the Arrhenius equation, and for the phenyl + O2 association reaction, we found k(T) = 1.860 x 1013T-0.217 exp(0.358/T) (with k in cm3 mol-1 s-1 and T in K); this rate equation provides good agreement with low-temperature experimental measurements of the phenyl + O2 rate constant. Preliminary results were presented for a correlation between activation energy (or reaction enthalpy) and pre-exponential factor for heterolytic O-O bond scission reactions.  相似文献

The multichannel CH + O2 reaction was studied at room temperature, in a low-pressure fast-flow reactor. CH radical was obtained from the reaction of CHBr3 with potassium atoms. The overall rate constant was determined from the decay of CH with distance, O2 being introduced in excess. The result, after corrections for axial and radial diffusion, is k = (3.6 +/- 0.5) x 10(-11) cm3 molecule-1 s-1. The OH(A2 sigma +) chemiluminescence was observed, confirming the existence of the OH + CO channel. The vibrational population distribution of OH(A2 sigma +) is 32% in the v' = 1 level and 68% in the v' = 0 level (+/- 5%). The relative atomic concentrations were determined by resonance fluorescence in the vacuum ultraviolet. A ratio of 1.4 +/- 0.2 was found between the H atom density (H atoms being produced from the H + CO2 channel and from the HCO dissociation) and the O atom density (O + HCO). Ab initio calculations of the transition structures have been performed, associated with statistical estimations. The estimated branching ratios are: O + HCO, 20%; O + H + CO, 30%; H + CO2, 30%; and CO + OH, 20%.  相似文献

The rate coefficients of the reactions and were determined in a series of shock tube experiments from CN time histories recorded using a narrow-linewidth cw laser absorption technique. The ring dye laser source generated 388.44 nm radiation corresponding to the CN B2Σ+(v = 0) ← X2Σ+(v = 0) P-branch bandhead, enabling 0.1 ppm detection sensitivity. Reaction (1) was measured in shock-heated gas mixtures of typically 200 ppm N2O and 10 ppm C2N2 in argon in the temperature range 3000 to 4500 K and at pressures between 0.45 and 0.90 atm. k1 was determined using pseudo-first order kinetics and was found to be 7.7 × 1013 (±20%) [cm3 mol?1 s?1]. This value is significantly higher than reported by earlier workers. Reaction (2) was measured in two regimes. In the first, nominal gas mixtures of 500 ppm O2 and 10 ppm C2N2 in argon were shock heated in the temperature range 2700 K to 3800 K and at pressures between 0.62 and 1.05 atm. k2 was determined by fitting the measured CN profiles with a detailed mechanism. In the second regime, gas mixtures of 500 ppm O2 and 1000 ppm C2N2 in argon were shock heated in the temperature range 1550 to 1950 K and at pressures between 1.19 and 1.57 atm. Using pulsed radiation from an ArF excimer laser at 193 nm, a fraction of the C2N2 was photolyzed to produce CN. Pseudo-first order kinetics were used to determine k2. Combining the results from both regimes, k2 was found to be 1.0 × 1013 (±20%) [cm3 mol?1 s?1].  相似文献

Photoionization mass spectrometer techniques have been employed to study the charge transfer reactions: Xe+ + O2 → O+2 + Xe and O+2 + Xe → Xe+ + O2. The results show the reaction of Xe+(2P32) ions with O2 molecules is much more efficient than the reaction of Xe+(2P12) ions with O2 molecules. The charge transfer reaction of O+2 ions with Xe atoms was detected for O+2 ions in the a 4Πu state.  相似文献

The La + O and La + O 2 chemiionization reactions have been investigated with quantum chemical methods. For La + O 2(X (3)Sigma g) and La + O 2(a (1)Delta g), the chemiionization reaction La + O 2 --> LaO 2 (+) + e (-) has been shown to be endothermic and does not contribute to the experimental chemielectron spectra. For the La + O 2(X (3)Sigma g) reaction conditions, chemielectrons are produced by La + O 2 --> LaO + O, followed by La + O --> LaO (+) + e (-). This is supported by the same chemielectron band, arising from La + O --> LaO (+) + e (-), being observed from both the La + O( (3)P) and La + O 2(X (3)Sigma g) reaction conditions. For La + O 2(a (1)Delta g), a chemielectron band with higher electron kinetic energy than that obtained from La + O 2(X (3)Sigma g) is observed. This is attributed to production of O( (1)D) from the reaction La + O 2(a (1)Delta g) --> LaO + O( (1)D), followed by chemiionization via the reaction La + O( (1)D) --> LaO (+) + e (-). Potential energy curves are computed for a number of states of LaO, LaO* and LaO (+) to establish mechanisms for the observed La + O --> LaO (+) + e (-) chemiionization reactions.  相似文献

The reactions of alkyl peroxy radicals (RO(2)) play a central role in the low-temperature oxidation of hydrocarbons. In this work, we present high-pressure rate estimation rules for the dissociation, concerted elimination, and isomerization reactions of RO(2). These rate rules are derived from a systematic investigation of sets of reactions within a given reaction class using electronic structure calculations performed at the CBS-QB3 level of theory. The rate constants for the dissociation reactions are obtained from calculated equilibrium constants and a literature review of experimental rate constants for the reverse association reactions. For the concerted elimination and isomerization channels, rate constants are calculated using canonical transition state theory. To determine if the high-pressure rate expressions from this work can directly be used in ignition models, we use the QRRK/MSC method to calculate apparent pressure and temperature dependent rate constants for representative reactions of small, medium, and large alkyl radicals with O(2). A comparison of concentration versus time profiles obtained using either the pressure dependent rate constants or the corresponding high-pressure values reveals that under most conditions relevant to combustion/ignition problems, the high-pressure rate rules can be used directly to describe the reactions of RO(2).  相似文献

An explicit function has been derived for the potential-energy surface of the ground state of ClO3 with the six interatomic distances as variables. This surface is valid over all configurations of the atoms. The surface has been used to calculate classical trajectories for the reactions R1: O(3P2)+ClO(2Π3/2)→ O2(3∑)+Cl(2)P3/2 and R2: Cl(2P3/2)+O3(1A1)→ClO(2Π3/2)+O2(3∑). An appreciable fraction (~1/3) of the reactive trajectories for R1 go through a long-lived complex ClOO(2A″). The cross section decreases with increasing rotational state of the ClO; and 37% of the energy release is vibrational. The calculated rate constant at 298°K is 2.6 × 10?11 cm3/molecule sec. For reaction R2 there is no evidence of long-lived complexes. The product ClO is predominantly found in the backward-scattering direction. Most of the internal energy is carries off by ClO but O2 carried off most translational energy. An Arrhenius expression has been deduced from calculations at 220 and 300°K to give an A factor of 2.488 × 10?11 cm3/molecule sec and an activation energy of 1.543 kJ/mol.  相似文献

Earlier synchrotron photoionization mass spectrometry experiments suggested a prominent ring-opening channel in the OH-initiated oxidation of cyclohexene, based on comparison of product photoionization spectra with calculated spectra of possible isomers. The present work re-examines the OH + cyclohexene reaction, measuring the isomeric products of OH-initiated oxidation of partially and fully deuterated cyclohexene. In particular, the directly measured photoionization spectrum of 2-cyclohexen-1-ol differs substantially from the previously calculated Franck-Condon envelope, and the product spectrum can be fit with no contribution from ring-opening. Measurements of H(2)O(2) photolysis in the presence of C(6)D(10) establish that the addition-elimination product incorporates the hydrogen atom from the hydroxyl radical reactant and loses a hydrogen (a D atom in this case) from the ring. Investigation of OH + cyclohexene-4,4,5,5-d(4) confirms this result and allows mass discrimination of different abstraction pathways. Products of 2-hydroxycyclohexyl-d(10) reaction with O(2) are observed upon adding a large excess of O(2) to the OH + C(6)D(10) system.  相似文献

Rate constants for the radical-radical reactions N + OH → NO + H (1), and O + OH → O2 + H (2) have been measured for the first time by a direct method. In each experiment, a known concentration of N or O atoms is established in a discharge-flow system. OH radicals are then created by flash photolysis of H2O present in the flowing gas, and the disappearance of OH is monitored by time-resolved observations of its resonance fluorescence. The experiments yield K1 = (5.0 = 1.2) × 10?11 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 and k2 = (3.8 = 0.9) × 10?11 cm3 molecule?1 s?1, for the reactions at 298 = 5 K.  相似文献

Guided ion beam mass spectrometry is used to measure the cross sections as a function of kinetic energy for reaction of SiH4 with O+(4S), O 2 + (2Πg,v=0), N+(3P), and N 2 + (2Σ g + ,v=0). All four ions react with silane by dissociative charge-transfer to form SiH m + (m=0?3), and all but N 2 + also form SiXH m + products where (m=0?3) andX=O, O2 or N. The overall reactivity of the O+, O 2 + , and N+ systems show little dependence on kinetic energy, but for the case of N 2 + , the reaction probability and product distribution relies heavily on the kinetic energy of the system. The present results are compared with those previously reported for reactions of the rare gas ions with silane [13] and are discussed in terms of vertical ionization from the 1t 2 and 3a 1 bands of SiH4. Thermal reaction rates are also provided and dicussed.  相似文献

Luminescence spectra are recorded for the reactions of Xe(+) + NH(3) and Xe(2+) + NH(3) at energies ranging from 11.5 to 206 eV in the center-of-mass (E(cm)) frame. Intense features of the luminescence spectra are attributed to the NH (A (3)Π(i)-X (3)Σ(-)), hydrogen Balmer series, and Xe I emission observable for both primary ions. Evidence for charge transfer products is only found through Xe I emission for both primary ions and NH(+) emission for Xe(2+) primary ions. For both primary ions, the absolute NH (A-X) cross section increases with collision energy before leveling off at a constant value, approximately 9 × 10(-18) cm(2), at about 50 eV while H-α emission increases linearly with collision energy. The nascent NH (A) populations derived from the spectral analysis are found to be independent of collision energy and have a constant rotational temperature of 4200 K.  相似文献

The electronic structure aspects of the M (1S,3P) + N2O(X 1sigma+) (M = Be, Mg, Ca) reactions are investigated using the CASSCF/MRMP2 (complete active space SCF and the multireference M?ller-Plesset perturbation theory of the second order) computational methodology. The lowest adiabatic 1 1A' and 1 3A' potential energy surfaces (PESs) favor the bending dissociation mechanism of N2O in all studied cases. The rate-limiting channels are determined by the classical barriers that decrease in the series Be (8.9) > Mg (7.0) > Ca (1.2) kcal/mol, whereas the spin-forbidden reaction channels are found to be less important. A comparison with elaborated kinetic results (Plane et al. J. Phys. Chem. 1990, 94, 5255; Gas-Phase Metal Reactions; Elsevier: Amsterdam, 1992; Vinckier et al. J. Phys. Chem. A 1999, 103, 5328) on the Ca (1S) + N2O(X 1sigma+) reaction is presented, and the differences in the kinetic behavior of the title reactions are discussed. Our results also indicate that the techniques based on the multiconfigurational wave functions are unavoidable if a correct topology of the PESs governing these reactions is needed.  相似文献

The doping of He droplets by Al atoms and their reactions with H(2)O and O(2) at T = 0.37 K was investigated. It was found that at high doping concentrations, the incorporated Al atoms do not aggregate to form clusters. They rather remain as separated atoms inside of the He droplets. Mass spectrometry and the recently developed depletion method have been applied to study the reactions. It was found that single Al atoms react with single O(2) molecules. The dominant product of this reaction occurring inside of the He droplets is AlO(2). The reaction between Al and O(2) clusters has also been detected. The Al clusters react with single H(2)O molecules or clusters. While single Al atoms react with H(2)O clusters, no reaction of single Al atoms with a single water molecule was found.  相似文献

The product state-resolved dynamics of the reactions H+H(2)O/D(2)O-->OH/OD((2)Pi(Omega);v',N',f )+H(2)/HD have been explored at center-of-mass collision energies around 1.2, 1.4, and 2.5 eV. The experiments employ pulsed laser photolysis coupled with polarized Doppler-resolved laser induced fluorescence detection of the OH/OD radical products. The populations in the OH spin-orbit states at a collision energy of 1.2 eV have been determined for the H+H(2)O reaction, and for low rotational levels they are shown to deviate from the statistical limit. For the H+D(2)O reaction at the highest collision energy studied the OD((2)Pi(3/2),v'=0,N'=1,A') angular distributions show scattering over a wide range of angles with a preference towards the forward direction. The kinetic energy release distributions obtained at 2.5 eV also indicate that the HD coproducts are born with significantly more internal excitation than at 1.4 eV. The OD((2)Pi(3/2),v'=0,N'=1,A') angular and kinetic energy release distributions are almost identical to those of their spin-orbit excited OD((2)Pi(1/2),v'=0,N'=1,A') counterpart. The data are compared with previous experimental measurements at similar collision energies, and with the results of previously published quasiclassical trajectory and quantum mechanical calculations employing the most recently developed potential energy surface. Product OH/OD spin-orbit effects in the reaction are discussed with reference to simple models.  相似文献

In this report, we try to show the importance of incorporation of name reactions in the sequential cascade reaction in which significantly decreasing the number of steps towards an ideal and practical multi-step synthesis of natural products as well showing virtually all the advantages already mentioned for “Click Chemistry”. In addition, since the chiral inductions are desired for most of these sequential name reactions, their asymmetric catalyzed reactions were also described.  相似文献

The gas-phase photochlorination (λ = 436 nm) of the 1,1,1,2-C2H2Cl4 has been studied in the absence and the presence of oxygen at temperatures between 360 and 420°K. Activation energies have been estimated for the following reaction steps: The dissociation energy D(CCl3CHCl? O2) ± (24.8 ± 1.5) kcal/mole has also been estimated from the difference in activation energy of the direct and reverse reactions The mechanism is discussed and the rate parameters are compared to those obtained for a series of other chlorinated ethanes.  相似文献
