The nitrosyl complexes formed during the binding of NO to the (Pn)FeIII(H2O)2 (n = 8+ and 8-) complexes, viz., (P8-)FeII(H2O)(NO+) and (P8+)FeII(H2O)(NO+), undergo subsequent reductive nitrosylation reactions that were found to be catalyzed by nitrite, which was also produced during the reaction. The effect of the nitrite concentration, pH, temperature, and pressure on the nitrite-catalyzed reductive nitrosylation process was studied in detail for (P8-)FeIII(H2O)2, (P8+)FeIII(H2O)2, and (P8+)FeIII(OH)(H2O), from which rate and activation parameters were obtained. On the basis of these data, we propose mechanistic pathways for the studied reactions. The available results favor the operation of an innersphere electron-transfer process between nitrite and coordinated NO(+). By way of comparison, the cationic porphyrin complex (P8+)FeIII(L)2 (L = H2O or OH-) was found to react with NO2(-) to yield the nitrite adduct (P8+)FeIII(L)(NO2)(-)). A detailed kinetic studied revealed that nitrite binds to (P8+)FeIII(H2O)2 according to a dissociative mechanism, whereas nitrite binding to (P8+)FeIII(OH)(H2O) at higher pH follows an associative mechanism, similar to that reported for the binding of NO to these complexes.  相似文献

The reaction of Fe2+ with CN-, which was first performed in 1704, has been used to synthesize a new series of basic [FeII,III(CN)4L2]n- complexes, where L is a monodentate ligand. trans-Na2[FeII(CN)4(DMSO)2] and cis-[NEt4]2[FeII(CN)4(pyridine)2] are synthesized by the direct reaction of FeCl2 with 4 equiv of CN- in DMSO or pyridine. Air oxidation of the latter compound gives cis-[NEt4][FeIII(CN)4(pyridine)2]. The non-cyanide ligands in these complexes undergo facile ligand exchange reactions with solvent. Reaction of cis-[NEt4]2[FeII(CN)4(pyridine)2] with CO at room temperature gives trans-[NEt4]2[FeII(CN)4(pyridine)(CO)].  相似文献

We report direct electrochemistry of the iNOS heme domain in a DDAB film on the surface of a basal plane graphite electrode. Cyclic voltammetry reveals FeIII/II and FeII/I couples at -191 and -1049 mV (vs Ag/AgCl). Imidazole and carbon monoxide in solution shift the FeIII/II potential by +20 and +62 mV, while the addition of dioxygen results in large catalytic waves at the onset of FeIII reduction. Voltammetry at higher scan rates (with pH variations) reveals that the FeIII/II cathodic peak can be resolved into two components, which are attributable to FeIII/II couples of five- and six-coordinate hemes. Digital simulation of our experimental data implicates water dissociation from the heme as a gating mechanism for ET in iNOS.  相似文献

The diiron mu-nitride complexes, {L3FeII(mu-N)FeIIL3}- and L3FeIII(mu-N)FeIIL3, heterolytically activate hydrogen (1 atm) at ambient temperature in solution (L3 = [PhB(CH2PPh2)3]-). These transformations lead to structurally unique {L3FeII(mu-NH)(mu-H)FeIIL3}- and L3FeIII(mu-NH)(mu-H)FeIIL3 products. X-ray data establish a marked reduction in the Fe-Fe distance upon H2 uptake, and spectroscopic data establish both FeIIFeII species to be diamagnetic, whereas the FeIIIFeII species, L3FeIII(mu-N)FeIIL3 and L3FeIII(mu-NH)(mu-H)FeIIL3, populate doublet ground states with thermally accessible higher spin states.  相似文献

A unique "single-chain quantum magnet" was formed by an alternating arrangement of high-spin FeII/low-spin FeIII ions. Although the predominant spin-carrier components (high-spin FeII) possess easy-plane magnetic anisotropy (D > 0), twisted arrangement of easy-planes along the chain axis defines a novel class of one-dimensional Ising system.  相似文献

Superoxide reduction by thiolate-ligated [FeII(SMe2N4(tren))]+ (1) involves two proton-dependent steps and a single peroxide intermediate, [FeIII(SMe2N4(tren))(OOH)]+ (2). An external proton donor is required, ruling out mechanisms involving H+ or H-atom abstraction from the ligand N-H. The initial protonation step affording 2 occurs with fairly basic proton donors (EtOH, MeOH, NH4+) in THF. More acidic proton donors are required to cleave the Fe-O(peroxide) bond in MeOH, and this occurs via a dissociative mechanism. Reaction rates are dependent on the pKa of the proton donor, and a common [FeIII(SMe2N4(tren))(MeOH)]2+ (3) intermediate is involved. Acetic acid releases H2O2 from 2 under pseudo-first-order conditions ([HOAc] = 138 mM, [2] = 0.49 mM) with a rate constant of 8.2 x 10(-4) s(-1) at -78 degrees C in MeOH. Reduction of 3 with Cp2Co regenerates the active catalyst 1.  相似文献

A novel tetrameric cluster, (enH2)3.5H15[{FeIIFeIII12(mu3-OH)12(mu4-PO4)4}(B-alpha-PW9O34)4].83H2O (1; en = ethylenediamine), has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by IR, optical diffuse reflectance, thermogravimetric analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The skeleton of 1 is composed of four tri-FeIII-substituted [FeIII3(mu3-OH)3(B-alpha-PW9O34)]3- Keggin moieties fused together through a FeII2O2 unit and four mu4-PO4 bridges, resulting in a unique tetramer with C2 symmetry. Magnetic measurements indicate that 1 reveals the antiferromagnetic interactions between FeII and FeIII centers.  相似文献

A series of FeIII complexes of stoichiometry [FeLX3].nH2O have been synthesized, where X=Cl–, HCO–2 and L is a flexible bidentate ligand, 1,3(bis-benzimidazolyl) propane and 1,4(bis-benzimidazolyl)butane. Mössbauer data reveals that the isomer shift values lie in the range typically observed for high spin FeIII complexes, while the slightly large quadrupole splitting parameter indicates a rhombically distorted FeIII centre. Cyclic voltammetric studies reveal that the E1/2 for the FeIII/FeII couple for the formate complex shifts more cathodically than for the chloride complex; implying that HCO–2 is more effective at lowering the Lewis acidity of the FeIII centre.  相似文献

Two new mononuclear FeII complexes, [(L52aH)FeII](PF6)2 (1-(PF6)2) and [(L52a)FeII]BPh4 (2-(BPh4)) have been synthesized with the new aminopyridyl ligand bearing a pivaloylamido arm L52aH (2,2-dimethyl-N-[6-({[2-(methyl-pyridin-2-ylmethyl-amino)-ethyl]-pyridin-2-ylmethyl-amino}-methyl)-pyridin-2-yl]-propionamide), or its deprotonated form L52a-. The structures of the ferrous complexes have been determined by X-ray analysis. The mononuclear FeII is in a pseudo-octahedral environment in both complexes, the six positions around the metal center being occupied by five nitrogen atoms and one oxygen atom from the ligand. Whatever the protonation state of the amide function, the structures are very similar, the FeII being 6-fold coordinated by the two amines, three pyridines, and the oxygen atom from the ligand. These two complexes exhibit an acid/base equilibrium in solution that has been studied by UV-vis spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry in acetonitrile. The reactivity of 1-(PF6)2 with H2O2 in methanol affords the formation of a new low-spin FeIII(OOH) intermediate in which the oxygen atom is retained in the coordination sphere of the metal.  相似文献

Reported herein are the hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) reactions of two closely related dicationic iron tris(alpha-diimine) complexes. FeII(H2bip) (iron(II) tris[2,2'-bi-1,4,5,6-tetrahydropyrimidine]diperchlorate) and FeII(H2bim) (iron(II) tris[2,2'-bi-2-imidazoline]diperchlorate) both transfer H* to TEMPO (2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinoxyl) to yield the hydroxylamine, TEMPO-H, and the respective deprotonated iron(III) species, FeIII(Hbip) or FeIII(Hbim). The ground-state thermodynamic parameters in MeCN were determined for both systems using both static and kinetic measurements. For FeII(H2bip) + TEMPO, DeltaG degrees = -0.3 +/- 0.2 kcal mol-1, DeltaH degrees = -9.4 +/- 0.6 kcal mol-1, and DeltaS degrees = -30 +/- 2 cal mol-1 K-1. For FeII(H2bim) + TEMPO, DeltaG degrees = 5.0 +/- 0.2 kcal mol-1, DeltaH degrees = -4.1 +/- 0.9 kcal mol-1, and DeltaS degrees = -30 +/- 3 cal mol-1 K-1. The large entropy changes for these reactions, |TDeltaS degrees | = 9 kcal mol-1 at 298 K, are exceptions to the traditional assumption that DeltaS degrees approximately 0 for simple HAT reactions. Various studies indicate that hydrogen bonding, solvent effects, ion pairing, and iron spin equilibria do not make major contributions to the observed DeltaS degrees HAT. Instead, this effect arises primarily from changes in vibrational entropy upon oxidation of the iron center. Measurement of the electron-transfer half-reaction entropy, |DeltaS degrees Fe(H2bim)/ET| = 29 +/- 3 cal mol-1 K-1, is consistent with a vibrational origin. This conclusion is supported by UHF/6-31G* calculations on the simplified reaction [FeII(H2N=CHCH=NH2)2(H2bim)]2+...ONH2 left arrow over right arrow [FeII(H2N=CHCH=NH2)2(Hbim)]2+...HONH2. The discovery that DeltaS degrees HAT can deviate significantly from zero has important implications on the study of HAT and proton-coupled electron-transfer (PCET) reactions. For instance, these results indicate that free energies, rather than enthalpies, should be used to estimate the driving force for HAT when transition-metal centers are involved.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of the Fe(III) complex of a novel crown ether-porphyrin conjugate, 52-N-(4-aza-18-crown-6)methyl-54,104,154,204-tetra-tert-butyl-56-methyl-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin (H2Porph), as well as the corresponding hydroxo, dimeric, Fe(II), and peroxo species are reported. The crystal structure of [FeIII(Porph)Cl].H3O+.FeCl4-.C6H6.EtOH is also reported. [FeIII(Porph)(DMSO)2]+ and K[FeIII(Porph)(O22-)] are high-spin species (M?ssbauer data: delta = 0.38 mm s(-1), DeltaEq = 0.83 mm s(-1) and delta = 0.41 mm s(-1), DeltaEq = 0.51 mm s(-1), respectively), whereas in a solution of reduced [FeIII(Porph)(DMSO)2]+ complex the low-spin [FeII(Porph)(DMSO)2] (delta = 0.44 mm s(-1), DeltaEq = 1.32 mm s(-1)) and high-spin [FeII(Porph)(DMSO)] (delta = 1.27 mm s(-1), DeltaEq = 3.13 mm s(-1)) iron(II) species are observed. The reaction of [FeIII(Porph)(DMSO)2]+ with KO2 in DMSO has been investigated. The first reaction step, involving reduction to [FeII(Porph)(DMSO)2], was not investigated in detail because of parallel formation of an Fe(III)-hydroxo species. The kinetics and thermodynamics of the second reaction step, reversible binding of superoxide to the Fe(II) complex and formation of an Fe(III)-peroxo species, were studied in detail (by stopped-flow time-resolved UV/vis measurements in DMSO at 25 degrees C), resulting in kon = 36 500 +/- 500 M(-1) s(-1), koff = 0.21 +/- 0.01 s(-1) (direct measurements using an acid as a superoxide scavenger), and KO2- = (1.7 +/- 0.2) x 10(5) (superoxide binding constant kinetically obtained as kon/koff), (1.4 +/- 0.1) x 10(5), and (9.0 +/- 0.1) x 10(4) M(-1) (thermodynamically obtained in the absence and in the presence of 0.1 M NBu4PF6, respectively). Temperature-dependent kinetic measurements for kon (-40 to 25 degrees C in 3:7 DMSO/CH3CN mixture) yielded the activation parameters DeltaH = 61.2 +/- 0.9 kJ mol(-1) and DeltaS = +48 +/- 3 J K(-1) mol(-1). The observed reversible binding of superoxide to the metal center and the obtained kinetic and thermodynamic parameters are unique. The finding that fine-tuning of the proton concentration can cause the Fe(III)-peroxo species to release O2- and form an Fe(II) species is of biological interest, since this process might occur under very specific physiological conditions.  相似文献

The polyanionic, water-soluble, and non-micro-oxo dimer-forming iron porphyrin (hexadecasodium iron 54,104,154,204-tetra-t-butyl-52,56,102,106,152,156,202,206-octakis[2,2-bis(carboxylato)ethyl]-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin), (P16-)FeIII, with 16 negatively charged meso substituents on the porphyrin was synthesized and fully characterized by UV-vis and 1H NMR spectroscopy. A single pKa1 value of 9.90 +/- 0.01 was determined for the deprotonation of coordinated water in the six-coordinate (P16-)FeIII(H2O)2 and as attributed to the formation of the five-coordinate monohydroxo-ligated form, (P16-)FeIII(OH). The porphyrin complex reversibly binds NO in aqueous solution to yield the nitric oxide adduct, (P16-)FeII(NO+)(L), where L = H2O or OH-. The kinetics for the reversible binding of NO were studied as a function of pH, temperature, and pressure using the stopped-flow technique. The data for the binding of NO to the diaqua complex are consistent with the operation of a dissociative mechanism on the basis of the significantly positive values of DeltaS and DeltaV, whereas the monohydroxo complex favors an associatively activated mechanism as determined from the corresponding negative activation parameters. The rate constant, kon = 3.1 x 104 M-1 s-1 at 25 degrees C, determined for the NO binding to (P16-)FeIII(OH) at higher pH, is significantly lower than the corresponding value measured for (P16-)FeIII(H2O)2 at lower pH, namely, kon = 11.3 x 105 M-1 s-1 at 25 degrees C. This decrease in the reactivity is analogous to that reported for other diaqua- and monohydroxo-ligated ferric porphyrin complexes, and is accounted for in terms of a mechanistic changeover observed for (P16-)FeIII(H2O)2 and (P16-)FeIII(OH). The formed nitrosyl complex, (P16-)FeII(NO+)(H2O), undergoes subsequent reductive nitrosylation to produce (P16-)FeII(NO), which is catalyzed by nitrite produced during the reaction. Concentration-, pH-, temperature-, and pressure-dependent kinetic data are reported for this reaction. Data for the reversible binding of NO and the subsequent reductive nitrosylation reaction are discussed in reference to that available for other iron(III) porphyrins in terms of the influence of the porphyrin periphery.  相似文献

Lipoxygenases (LOs) comprise a class of substrate activating mononuclear nonheme iron enzymes which catalyze the hydroperoxidation of unsaturated fatty acids. A commonly proposed mechanism for LO catalysis involves H-atom abstraction by an FeIII-OH- site, best described as a proton coupled electron transfer (PCET) process, followed by direct reaction of O2 with the resulting substrate radical to yield product. An alternative mechanism that has also been discussed involves the abstraction of a proton from the substrate by the FeIII-OH leading to a sigma-organoiron intermediate, where the subsequent sigma bond insertion of dioxygen into the C-Fe bond completes the reaction. H-atom abstraction is favored by a high E(o) of the FeII/FeIII couple and high pK(a) of water bound to the ferrous state, while an organoiron mechanism would be favored by a low E(o) (to keep the site oxidized) and a high pK(a) of water bound to the ferric state (to deprotonate the substrate). A first coordination sphere mutant of soybean LO (N694C) has been prepared and characterized by near-infrared circular dichroism (CD) and variable-temperature, variable-field (VTVH) magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectroscopies (FeII site), as well as UV/vis absorption, UV/vis CD, and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopies (FeIII site). These studies suggest that N694C has a lowered E degrees of the FeII/FeIII couple and a raised pKa of water bound to the ferric site relative to wild type soybean lipoxygenase-1 (WT sLO-1) which would favor the organoiron mechanism. However, the observation in N694C of a significant deuterium isotope effect, anaerobic reduction of iron by substrate, and a substantial decrease in k(cat) (approximately 3000-fold) support H-atom abstraction as the relevant substrate-activation mechanism in sLO-1.  相似文献

The electrochemical potentials of Fc3-xPPhx, (1-3, x = 0-2) and (FcPPh)n (4) indicate that iodine should oxidize ferrocenyl(phenyl)phosphines. The molar conductivity of solutions of 1-3 increases sharply when the solutions are titrated with iodine, leveling off after the addition of > 2 equiv of oxidant, consistent with formation of 1:1 electrolytes. Diamagnetic salts 6-9 are observed upon addition of a benzene solution of iodine to a benzene solution of 1-4 at ambient temperature in ratios of I2/metallocene ranging from 1:1 to 2:1. Well-resolved 1H and 31P NMR spectra are obtained for 6-8. Absorptions assigned to the I3- anion dominate the UV-vis spectrum of 6-8, whereas characteristic absorptions for [Fc][I3] are absent. Mossbauer spectra of 7-9 reveal isomer shifts consistent with low-spin iron(II) in ferrocene derivatives rather than those in ferricenium ions. Small amounts of low-spin FeIII appear to be present in 6. Taken together, the results suggest that 6-9 are iodophosphonium salts and not ferricenium salts. Diferrocenyl(phenyl)phosphine oxide (5) reacts with iodine to produce a diamagnetic, dark solid 10. Low-spin FeII is observed at 77 and 293 K in the Mossbauer spectra of 10 with no evidence for oxidation of FeII to FeIII. Compound 10 is proposed to be a neutral complex between 5 and I2. Reactions between 5 and 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ) yield [Fc2P(=O)][DDQ]2 (11). Mossbauer spectroscopy of 11 indicates the presence of a mixture of low-spin FeII and low-spin FeIII at 77 K, suggesting that some electron transfer occurs from 5 to DDQ. The fraction of low-spin FeIII increases at room temperature.  相似文献

A complete characterization of the aqueous solution Fe(III) and Fe(II) coordination chemistry of a saccharide-based ferrichrome analogue, 1-O-methyl-2,3,6-tris-O-[4-(N-hydroxy-N-ethylcarbamoyl)-n-butyryl]-alpha-D-glucopyranoside (H3LN236), is reported including relevant thermodynamic parameters and growth promotion activity with respect to both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacterial strains. The saccharide platform is an attractive backbone for the design and synthesis of ferrichrome analogues because of its improved water solubility and hydrogen-bonding capabilities, which can potentially provide favorable receptor recognition and biological activity. The ligand deprotonation constants (pKa values), iron complex (FeIII(LN236) and FeII(LN236)1-) protonation constants (KFeHxL-236-N), overall Fe(III) and Fe(II) chelation constants (beta110), and aqueous solution speciation were determined by spectrophotometric and potentiometric titrations, EDTA competition equilibria, and cyclic voltammetry. Log betaIII110 = 31.16 and pFe = 26.1 for FeIII(LN236) suggests a high affinity for Fe(III), which is comparable to or greater than ferrichrome and other ferrichrome analogues. The E1/2 for the FeIII(LN236)/FeII(LN236)1- couple was determined to be -454 mV (vs NHE) from quasi-reversible cyclic voltammograms at pH 9. Below pH 6.5, the E1/2 shifts to more positive values and the pH-dependent E1/2 profile was used to determine the FeII(LN236)1- protonation constants and overall stability constant log betaII110 = 11.1. A comparative analysis of similar data for an Fe(III) complex of a structural isomer of this exocyclic saccharide chelator (H3LR234), including strain energy calculations, allows us to analyze the relative effects of the pendant arm position and hydroxamate moiety orientation (normal vs retro) on overall complex stability. A correlation between siderophore activity and iron coordination chemistry of these saccharide-hydroxamate chelators is made.  相似文献

The reaction of the ligand N-phenyl-1,2-benzenediamine (N-phenyl-o-phenylenediamine), H2[L(PDI)], in dry acetonitrile with [FeIII(dmf)6](ClO4)3 (dmf = N,N-dimethylformamide) affords the dimer (mu-NH,NH)[FeIII(L(ISQ))(L(PDI))]2 (1), where (L(ISQ))*- represents the pi radical monoanion N-phenyl-o-diiminobenzosemiquinonate and (L(PDI))2- is its one-electron-reduced, closed-shell form. Complex 1 possesses a diamagnetic ground-state St = 0. Addition reactions of tri-n-butylphosphane, tert-butyl isocyanide, cyclohexyl isocyanide, 4,5-diphenylimidazole, and 4-(1-phenylpentyl)pyridine with 1 in acetonitrile or toluene yields [FeII(L(ISQ))2(PBu3)] (2), [Fe(II)(L(ISQ))2(CN-tBu)] (4), [FeII(L(ISQ))2(CNCy)] (5), [FeIII(L(ISQ))2(Ph2Im)] (6), and [FeIII(L(ISQ))(L(PDI))(BuPhCH-py)].BuPhCH-py (7). Oxidation of 1 with iodine affords [FeIII(L(ISQ))2I] (3), and oxidation of 2 with ferrocenium hexafluorophosphate yields [FeIII(L(ISQ))2(PBu3)](PF6) (2ox). The structures of complexes 2, 2ox, 3, 5, 6, and 7 have been determined by X-ray crystallography at 100(2) K. Magnetic susceptibility measurements and EPR, UV-vis, and M?ssbauer spectroscopy have established that mononuclear complexes containing the [FeII(L(ISQ))2X] chromophore (2, 4, 5) are diamagnetic (St = 0) whereas those with an [FeIII(L(ISQ))2X]n chromophore (3, 2(ox), 6) are paramagnetic (St = 1/2) and those with an [FeIII(L(ISQ))(L(PDI))X] chromophore (7) possess an St = 1 ground state. It is established that all ferric species have an intrinsic intermediate spin (SFe = 3/2) which is intramolecularly antiferromagnetically coupled to one or two (L(ISQ))*- ligand radicals yielding an St = 1 (7) or St = 1/2 (2ox, 3, 6) ground state, respectively. In the ferrous complexes 2, 4, and 5 the intrinsic spin at the iron ion is either low spin (SFe = 0) or intermediate spin (SFe = 1). Antiferromagnetic coupling between two radicals (L(ISQ))*- or, alternatively, between the intermediate spin ferrous ion and two radicals yields then the observed diamagnetic ground state. In 1 two [FeIII(L(ISQ))(L(PDI))] halves with S = 1 couple antiferromagnetically affording an St = 0 ground state.  相似文献

The reactivity between a thiolate-ligated five-coordinate complex [FeII(SMe2N4(tren))]+ (1) and dioxygen is examined in order to determine if O2 activation, resembling that of the metalloenzyme cytochrome P450, can be promoted even when O2 binds cis, as opposed to trans, to a thiolate. Previous work in our group showed that [FeII(SMe2N4(tren))]+ (1) reacts readily with superoxide (O2-) in the presence of a proton source to afford H2O2 via an Fe(III)-OOH intermediate, thus providing a biomimetic model for the metalloenzyme superoxide reductase (SOR). Addition of O2 to 1 affords binuclear mu-oxo-bridged [FeIII(SMe2N4(tren))]2(mu2-O)(PF6)2.3MeCN (3). At low temperatures, in protic solvents, an intermediate is detected, the details of which will be the subject of a separate paper. Although the thiolate ligand does not appear to perturb the metrical parameters of the unsupported mu-oxo bridge (Fe-O= 1.807(8) A, and Fe-O-Fe= 155.3(5) degrees fall in the usual range), it decreases the magnetic coupling between the irons (J=-28 cm(-1)) and creates a rather basic oxo site. Protonation of this oxo using strong (HBF4, HCl) or weak (HOAc, NH4PF6, LutNHCl) acids results in bridge cleavage to cleanly afford the corresponding monomeric anion-ligated (OAc- (6), or Cl- (7)) or solvent-ligated (MeCN (4)) derivatives. Addition of OH- converts [FeIII(SMe2N4(tren))(MeCN2+ (4) back to mu-oxo 3. Thus, mu-oxo bridge cleavage is reversible. The protonated mu-hydroxo-bridged intermediate is not observed. In an attempt to prevent mu-oxo dimer formation, and facilitate the observation of O2-bound intermediates, a bulkier tertiary amine ligand, tren-Et4= N-(2-amino-ethyl)-N-(2-diethylamino-ethyl)-N',N'-diethyl-ethane-1,2-diamine, and the corresponding [FeII(SMe2N4(tren-Et4))]+ (5) complex was synthesized and structurally characterized. Steric repulsive interactions create unusually long FeII-N(3,4) amine bonds in 5 (mean distance=2.219(1) A). The [(tren-Et4)N4SMe2]1- ligand is unable to accommodate iron in the +3 oxidation state, and consequently, in contrast to most thiolate-ligated Fe(II) complexes, [FeII(SMe2N4(tren-Et4))]+ (5) does not readily react with O2. Oxidation of 5 is irreversible, and the potential (Epa=+410 mV (vs SCE)) is anodically shifted relative to 1 (E1/2=-100 mV (vs SCE)).  相似文献

Side-on eta2-peroxo-iron porphyrins are strong nucleophiles. In cytochrome P450-like aromatase and other enzymes, such species are postulated as the active oxidants. In cytochrome c oxidase, hemea3-peroxo, hemea3-hydroperoxo, or hemea3-(mu-peroxo)-copper species are proposed as transient intermediates forming prior to O-O bond cleavage. In this report, we describe (1) a facile method for reduction of a heme-O2 species [(F8TPP)FeIII(O2-)(S)] (2), generating the ferric peroxo porphyrin complex [(F8TPP)FeIII(O22-)]- (3) (UV-vis, THF: lambdamax = 435 (Soret), 540(sh), 561; EPR: g = 8.7, 4.2), and (2) that this can be subsequently reacted with a ligand-copper(II) complex, [CuII(TMPA)-(CH3CN)](ClO4)2 (4), affording a heme-peroxo-copper heterobinuclear compound, [(F8TPP)FeII(O22-)-CuII(TMPA)](ClO4) (5). Generation of [(F8TPP)FeIII(O22-)]- (3) using cobaltocene as a one-electron reductant was monitored by UV-vis, EPR, and 1H NMR spectroscopies. Reaction between 3 and 4 was followed by UV-vis spectroscopy, and the product 5 could be precipitated and characterized. Coordination by copper(II) in 5 makes possible further reduction of the mu-peroxo complex by cobaltocene yielding the mu-oxo analogue, [(F8TPP)FeIII(O2-)-CuII(TMPA)](ClO4) (6).  相似文献

Aqueous solutions of the iron(III) porphyrin complex FeIII(TPPS) (1, TPPS = tetra(4-sulfonatophenyl)-porphyrinato) and nitrite ion react with various substrates S to generate the ferrous nitrosyl complex FeII(TPPS)(NO) (2) plus oxidized substrate. When S is a water-soluble sulfonated phosphine, the product is the resulting monoxide. When air is introduced to the product solutions, 2 is rapidly reoxidized to 1; however, even in the absence of air, there is a slow regeneration of the ferric species with concomitant production of nitrous oxide. Thus, in an anaerobic aqueous environment, FeIII(TPPS) catalyzes oxygen atom transfer from nitrite ion to substrates with the eventual formation of N2O.  相似文献
