Let A be a von Neumann algebra with no central abelian projections. It is proved that if an additive map δ :A → A satisfies δ([[a, b], c]) = [[δ(a), b], c] + [[a, δ(b)], c] +[[a, b], δ(c)] for any a, b, c∈ A with ab = 0(resp. ab = P, where P is a fixed nontrivial projection in A), then there exist an additive derivation d from A into itself and an additive map f :A → ZA vanishing at every second commutator [[a, b], c] with ab = 0(resp.ab = P) such that δ(a) = d(a) + f(a) for any a∈ A.  相似文献

In earlier papers, for “large” (but otherwise unspecified) subsets A, B of Z p and for h(x) ∈ Z p [x], Gyarmati studied the solvability of the equations a + b = h(x), resp. ab = h(x) with aA, bB, xZ p , and for large subsets A, B, C, D of Z p Sárközy showed the solvability of the equations a + b = cd, resp. ab + 1 = cd with aA, bB, cC, dD. In this series of papers equations of this type will be studied in finite fields. In particular, in Part I of the series we will prove the necessary character sum estimates of independent interest some of which generalize earlier results.  相似文献

The concept of the inverse along an element was introduced by Mary in 2011. Later, Zhu et al. introduced the one-sided inverse along an element. In this paper, we first give a new existence criterion for the one-sided inverse along a product and characterize the existence of Moore–Penrose inverse by means of one-sided invertibility of certain element in a ring. In addition, we show that \(a\in S^{\dagger }\bigcap S^{\#}\) if and only if \((a^{*}a)^{k}\) is invertible along a if and only if \((aa^{*})^{k}\) is invertible along a in a \(*\)-monoid S, where k is an arbitrary given positive integer. Finally, we prove that the inverse of a along \(aa^{*}\) coincides with the core inverse of a under the condition \(a\in S^{\{1,4\}}\) in a \(*\)-monoid S.  相似文献

An element a of a complex Banach algebra with unit \(1I\) and with standard conditions on the norm (‖ab‖ ? ‖a‖ · ‖b‖ and ‖\(1I\)‖ = 1) is said to be Hermitian if ‖e ita ‖ = 1 for any real number t. An element is said to be decomposable if it admits a representation of the form a + ib in which a and b are Hermitian. The decomposable elements form a Banach Lie algebra (with respect to the commutator). The Hermitian components are determined uniquely, and hence this Lie algebra has the natural involution a + ib = x → x* = a ? ib. One can readily see that ‖x*‖ ? 2‖x‖. Among other things, we prove that ‖ x*‖ ? γ‖x‖, where γ < 2. In fact, the situation is treated in more detail: the original problem is included in a continuous family parametrized by the numerical radius of the element. Finding the exact value of the constant γ is reduced to a variational problem in the theory of entire functions of exponential type. Approximately, γ is equal to 1.92 ± 0.04.  相似文献

Motivated by a question of Sárközy, we study the gaps in the product sequence B = A · A = {b 1 < b 2 < …} of all products a i a j with a i , a j A when A has upper Banach density α > 0. We prove that there are infinitely many gaps b n+1 ? b n ? α ?3 and that for t ≥ 2 there are infinitely many t-gaps b n+t ? b n ? t 2 α ?4. Furthermore, we prove that these estimates are best possible.We also discuss a related question about the cardinality of the quotient set A/A = {a i /a j , a i , a j A} when A ? {1, …, N} and |A| = αN.  相似文献

The limit probabilities of the first-order properties of a random graph in the Erd?s–Rényi model G(n, n?α), α ∈ (0, 1), are studied. A random graph G(n, n?α) is said to obey the zero-one k-law if, given any property expressed by a formula of quantifier depth at most k, the probability of this property tends to either 0 or 1. As is known, for α = 1? 1/(2k?1 + a/b), where a > 2k?1, the zero-one k-law holds. Moreover, this law does not hold for b = 1 and a ≤ 2k?1 ? 2. A continuous linear map T from a Banach algebra A into another B approximately preserves the zero products if ‖T(a)T(b)‖ ≤ α‖a‖‖b‖ (a,bA, ab = 0) for some small positive α. This paper is mainly concerned with the question of whether any continuous linear surjective map T: AB that approximately preserves the zero products is close to a continuous homomorphism from A onto B with respect to the operator norm. Let R be a ring. Existence criteria for the (bc)-inverse are given. We present explicit expressions for the (bc)-inverse by using inner inverses. We answer the question when the (bc)-inverse of \(a\in R\) is an inner inverse of a. Let H 2 be Sweedler’s 4-dimensional Hopf algebra and r(H 2) be the corresponding Green ring of H 2. In this paper, we investigate the automorphism groups of Green ring r(H 2) and Green algebra F(H 2) = r(H 2)?? F, where F is a field, whose characteristics is not equal to 2. We study the computational complexity of the vertex cover problem in the class of planar graphs (planar triangulations) admitting a plane representation whose faces are triangles. It is shown that the problem is strongly NP-hard in the class of 4-connected planar triangulations in which the degrees of vertices are of order O(log n), where n is the number of vertices, and in the class of plane 4-connected Delaunay triangulations based on the Minkowski triangular distance. A pair of vertices in such a triangulation is adjacent if and only if there is an equilateral triangle ?(p, λ) with pR2 and λ > 0 whose interior does not contain triangulation vertices and whose boundary contains this pair of vertices and only it, where ?(p, λ) = p + λ? = {xR2: x = p + λa, a ∈ ?}; here ? is the equilateral triangle with unit sides such that its barycenter is the origin and one of the vertices belongs to the negative y-axis. Suppose G is a higher-rank connected semisimple Lie group with finite center and without compact factors. Let G = G or G = G ? V, where V is a finite-dimensional vector space V. For any unitary representation (π,H) of G, we study the twisted cohomological equation π(a)f ? λf = g for partially hyperbolic element aG and λU(1), as well as the twisted cocycle equation π(a1)f ? λ1f = π(a2)g ? λ2g for commuting partially hyperbolic elements a1, a2G. We characterize the obstructions to solving these equations, construct smooth solutions and obtain tame Sobolev estimates for the solutions. These results can be extended to partially hyperbolic flows in parallel.As an application, we prove cocycle rigidity for any abelian higher-rank partially hyperbolic algebraic actions. This is the first paper exploring rigidity properties of partially hyperbolic that the hyperbolic directions don’t generate the whole tangent space. The result can be viewed as a first step toward the application of KAM method in obtaining differential rigidity for these actions in future works.  相似文献
