In the present article a, semilinear scale‐invariant wave equation with damping and mass is considered. The global (in time) existence of radial symmetric solutions in even spatial dimension n is proved by using weighted L ? L estimates, under the assumption that the multiplicative constants, which appear in the coefficients of damping and of mass terms, fulfill an interplay condition, which yields somehow a “wave‐like” model. In particular, combining this existence result with a recently proved blow‐up result, a suitable shift of Strauss exponent is proved to be the critical exponent for the considered model. Moreover, the still open part of a conjecture done by D'Abbicco‐Lucente‐Reissig is proved to be true in the massless case.

In this paper we survey recent results on the decay of periodic and almost periodic solutions of conservation laws. We also recall some recent results on the global existence of periodic solutions of conservation laws systems which lie inBV loc and are constructed through Glimm scheme. The latter motivates a discussion on a possible strategy for solving the open problem of the global existence of periodic solutions of the Euler equations for nonisentropic gas dynamics. We base our decay analysis on a general result about space-time functions which are almost periodic in the space variable, established here for the first time. This result is an abstract version of Theorem 2.1 in [31], which in turn is an extention of the combined result given by Theorems 3.1–3.2 in [9].  相似文献

We analyze the two‐dimensional parabolic‐elliptic Patlak‐Keller‐Segel model in the whole Euclidean space ?2. Under the hypotheses of integrable initial data with finite second moment and entropy, we first show local‐in‐time existence for any mass of “free‐energy solutions,” namely weak solutions with some free‐energy estimates. We also prove that the solution exists as long as the entropy is controlled from above. The main result of the paper is to show the global existence of free‐energy solutions with initial data as before for the critical mass 8π/χ. Actually, we prove that solutions blow up as a delta Dirac at the center of mass when t → ∞ when their second moment is kept constant at any time. Furthermore, all moments larger than 2 blowup as t → ∞ if initially bounded. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

In this paper we present some results on the global existence of weak solutions to a nonlinear variational wave equation and some related problems. We first introduce the main tools, the L p Young measure theory and related compactness results, in the first section. Then we use the L p Young measure theory to prove the global existence of dissipative weak solutions to the asymptotic equation of the nonlinear wave equation, and comment on its relation to Camassa-Holm equations in the second section. In the third section, we prove the global existence of weak solutions to the original nonlinear wave equation under some restrictions on the wave speed. In the last section, we present global existence of renormalized solutions to two-dimensional model equations of the asymptotic equation, which is also the so-called vortex density equation arising from sup-conductivity.  相似文献

We prove here that limits of nonnegative solutions to reaction-diffusion systems whose nonlinearities are bounded in always converge to supersolutions of the system. The motivation comes from the question of global existence in time of solutions for the wide class of systems preserving positivity and for which the total mass of the solution is uniformly bounded. We prove that, for a large subclass of these systems, weak solutions exist globally. RID="h1" ID="h1"A Philippe, mon ma?tre et ami  相似文献

The global existence of solutions to a damped MHD system in Besov spaces is obtained. This research is motivated by the open question [Wu et al., J. Nonlinear Sci. 25 (2015), 157–192, Remark 5.1] on the possibility of extension to the existence of global small solutions from a potential Banach space to a Besov space. The present result positively confirms the open question. What is more, the initial data are not required to be uniformly small.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behaviour of global classical solutions of diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems with linearly degenerate characteristic fields. Based on the existence results of global classical solutions, we prove that when t tends to infinity, the solution approaches a combination of C1 travelling wave solutions, provided that L1L norm of the initial data as well as its derivative are bounded. Application is given for the time‐like extremal surface in Minkowski space. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Eventhough existence of global smooth solutions for one dimensional quasilinear hyperbolic systems has been well established, much less is known about the corresponding results for higher dimensional cases. In this paper, we study the existence of global smoothe solutions for the initial-boundary value problem ofo Euler equtions satisfying γ law with damping and exisymmetry, or spherical symmetry. When the damping is strong enough, we give some sufficient conditions for existence of global smooth solutions as 1<γ< 5 3 and 5 3 <γ<3 . The proof is based on technical estimation of the C 1 norm of the solutions.  相似文献

We study the global Cauchy problem for the mass critical nonlinear Schrödinger equations. We prove the global existence of analytic solutions in both space and time variables for sufficiently small and exponentially decaying Cauchy data. The method of proof depends on the Leibniz rule for the generator of pseudo-conformal transforms at the L 2 critical level.  相似文献

A Fokker-Planck type equation for interacting particles with exclusion principle is analyzed. The nonlinear drift gives rise to mathematical difficulties in controlling moments of the distribution function. Assuming enough initial moments are finite, we can show the global existence of weak solutions for this problem. The natural associated entropy of the equation is the main tool to derive uniform in time a priori estimates for the kinetic energy and entropy. As a consequence, long-time asymptotics in L1 are characterized by the Fermi-Dirac equilibrium with the same initial mass. This result is achieved without rate for any constructed global solution and with exponential rate due to entropy/entropy-dissipation arguments for initial data controlled by Fermi-Dirac distributions. Finally, initial data below radial solutions with suitable decay at infinity lead to solutions for which the relative entropy towards the Fermi-Dirac equilibrium is shown to converge to zero without decay rate.  相似文献

The theory of dynamical systems has been expanded by the introduction of local dynamical systems [10, 4, 9] and local semidynamical systems [1]. Using integral curves of autonomous ordinary differential equations to illustrate these generalizations, we find that, roughly, the integral curves form a local dynamical system if solutions exist and are unique without requiring existence for all time, and the integral curves form a local semidynamical system if solutions exist and are unique in the positive sense but need not exist for all positive time. In addition to autonomous ordinary differential equations, the enlarged theory of dynamical systems has applications to nonautonomous ordinary differential equations, certain partial differential equations, functional differential equations, and Volterra Integral equations [9, 1, 2, 8], respectively. All of these have metric phase spaces. Since many dynamic considerations are invariant to reparameterizations, it is of interest to known when a local dynamical (or semidynamical) system can be reparameterized to yield a “global” dynamical (or semidynamical) system. For autonomous ordinary differential equations, Vinograd [7] has shown that the local dynamical system on an open subset ofRn formed by integral curves is isomorphic (in the sense of Nemytskii and Stepanov) to a global dynamical system. In an extensive study of isomorphisms, Ura [12] has expanded the Gottschalk-Hedlund notion of an isomorphism and restated Vinograd's result in terms of a reparameterization. In this paper we study the problem of finding a global dynamical (or semidynamical) system which is isomorphic to a given local system. A necessary and sufficient condition is found which is then used to show that the Vinograd result holds on metric spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we study the local or global (in time) existence of small data solutions to semi-linear fractional σ−evolution equations with nonlinearmemory. Our main goals is to explain on the one hand the influence of the memory term and on the other hand the influence of higher regularity of the data on qualitative properties of solutions.  相似文献

We establish local existence and comparison for a model problem which incorporates the effects of non-linear diffusion, convection and reaction. The reaction term to be considered contains a non-local dependence, and we show that local solutions can be obtained via monotone limits of solutions to appropriately regularized problems. Utilizing this construction, it is further shown that, under conditions of either ‘weak reaction’ or ‘sufficiently small’ initial mass, solutions exist for all time. Finally, we provide an alternative analysis of global existence and investigate blow up in finite time for the case of power law diffusion and convection. These results show the extent to which the assumption of weak reaction may be relaxed and still obtain global existence. © 1997 by B. G. Teubner Stuttgart–John Wiley & Sons Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem for systems of quasi-linear wave equations with multiple propagation speeds in spatial dimensions n ≥ 4. The problem when the nonlinearities depend on both the unknown function and their derivatives is studied. Based on some Klainerman-Sideris type weighted estimates and space-time L 2 estimates, the results that the almost global existence for space dimensions n = 4 and global existence for n ≥ 5 of small amplitude solutions are presented.  相似文献

Navier‐Stokes equations with shear dependent viscosity under the classical non‐slip boundary condition have been introduced and studied, in the sixties, by O. A. Ladyzhenskaya and, in the case of gradient dependent viscosity, by J.‐L. Lions. A particular case is the well known Smagorinsky turbulence model. This is nowadays a central subject of investigation. On the other hand, boundary conditions of slip type seems to be more realistic in some situations, in particular in numerical applications. They are a main research subject. The existence of weak solutions u to the above problems, with slip (or non‐slip) type boundary conditions, is well known in many cases. However, regularity up to the boundary still presents many open questions. In what follows we present some regularity results, in the stationary case, for weak solutions to this kind of problems; see Theorems 3.1 and 3.2. The evolution problem is studied in the forthcoming paper [6]; see the remark at the end of the introduction. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

This article is devoted to the study of the Caginalp phase field system with dynamic boundary conditions and singular potentials. We first show that, for initial data in H 2, the solutions are strictly separated from the singularities of the potential. This turns out to be our main argument in the proof of the existence and uniqueness of solutions. We then prove the existence of global attractors. In the last part of the article, we adapt well-known results concerning the Lojasiewicz inequality in order to prove the convergence of solutions to steady states.   相似文献

This paper is a continuation of our recent paper 8 . We will consider the semi‐linear Cauchy problem for wave models with scale‐invariant time‐dependent mass and dissipation and power non‐linearity. The goal is to study the interplay between the coefficients of the mass and the dissipation term to prove global existence (in time) of small data energy solutions assuming suitable regularity on the L2 scale with additional L1 regularity for the data. In order to deal with this L2 regularity in the non‐linear part, we will develop and employ some tools from Harmonic Analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global dynamics of a class of differential equations with temporal delay and spatial non-locality in an unbounded domain. Adopting the compact open topology, we describe the delicate asymptotic properties of the nonlocal delayed effect and establish some a priori estimate for nontrivial solutions which enables us to show the permanence of the equation. Combining these results with a dynamical systems approach, we determine the global dynamics of the equation under appropriate conditions. Applying the main results to the model with Ricker?s birth function and Mackey-Glass?s hematopoiesis function, we obtain threshold results for the global dynamics of these two models. We explain why our results on the global attractivity of the positive equilibrium in C+?{0} under the compact open topology becomes invalid in C+?{0} with respect to the usual supremum norm, and we identify a subset of C+?{0} in which the positive equilibrium remains attractive with respect to the supremum norm.  相似文献
