EXACT SOLUTIONS TO NONLINEAR WAVE EQUATION

In this paper,we use an invariant set to construct exact solutions to a nonlinear wave equation with a variable wave speed. Moreover,we obtain conditions under which the equation admits a nonclassical symmetry. Several different nonclassical symmetries for equations with different diffusion terms are presented.     

EXACT TRAVELLING WAVE SOLUTIONS TO BBM EQUATION

Abundant new travelling wave solutions to the BBM (Benjamin-Bona-Mahoni) equation are obtained by the generalized Jacobian elliptic function method. This method can be applied to other nonlinear evolution equations.

BOUNDED TRAVELING WAVE SOLUTIONS OF VARIANT BOUSSINESQ EQUATION WITH A DISSIPATION TERM AND DISSIPATION EFFECT

This article studies bounded traveling wave solutions of variant Boussinesq equation with a dissipation term and dissipation effect on them. Firstly, we make qualitative analysis to the bounded traveling wave solutions for the above equation by the theory and method of planar dynamical systems, and obtain their existent conditions, number, and general shape. Secondly, we investigate the dissipation effect on the shape evolution of bounded traveling wave solutions. We find out a critical value r*which can characterize the scale of dissipation effect, and prove that the bounded traveling wave solutions appear as kink profile waves if |r| ≥ r*; while they appear as damped oscillatory waves if |r| r*. We also obtain kink profile solitary wave solutions with and without dissipation effect. On the basis of the above discussion, we sensibly design the structure of the approximate damped oscillatory solutions according to the orbits evolution relation corresponding to the component u(ξ) in the global phase portraits, and then obtain the approximate solutions(u(ξ), H(ξ)). Furthermore,by using homogenization principle, we give their error estimates by establishing the integral equation which reflects the relation between exact and approximate solutions. Finally, we discuss the dissipation effect on the amplitude, frequency, and energy decay of the bounded traveling wave solutions.

BIFURCATIONS OF THE TRAVELLING WAVE SOLUTIONS TO A GENERALIZED CAMASSA-HOLM EQUATION

In this paper, we study some generalized Camassa-Holm equation. Through the analysis of the phase-portraits, the existence of solitary wave, cusp wave, periodic wave, periodic cusp wave and compactons were discussed. In some certain parametric conditions, many exact solutions to the above travelling waves were given. Further-more, the 3D and 2D pictures of the above travelling wave solutions are drawn using Maple software.     

BIFURCATIONS OF TRAVELLING WAVE SOLUTIONS TO A COUPLED NONLINEAR WAVE SYSTEM

Employ theory of bifurcations of dynamical systems to a system of coupled nonlin-ear equations, the existence of solitary wave solutions, kink wave solutions, anti-kink wave solutions and periodic wave solutions is obtained. Under different parametric conditions, various suffcient conditions to guarantee the existence of the above so-lutions are given. Some exact explicit parametric representations of travelling wave solutions are derived.

PEAKED WAVE SOLUTIONS TO A GENERALIZED HYPERELASTIC-ROD WAVE EQUATION

We study peaked wave solutions of a generalized Hyperelastic-rod wave equation describing waves in compressible hyperelastic-rods by using the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems and numerical simulation method. The existence domain of the peaked solitary waves are found. The analytic expressions of peaked solitary wave solutions are obtained. Our numerical simulation and qualitative results are identical.     

MULTIPLE AND SIGN-CHANGING SOLUTIONS FOR NONLINEAR ELLIPTIC EQUATION WITH CRITICAL POTENTIAL AND CRITICAL PARAMETER

A LOCAL ATTRACTOR FOR A NONLINEAR WAVE EQUATION ARISING IN ELASTIC WAVEGUIDE MODEL

This paper studies the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the initial boundary value problem for a nonlinear wave equation arising in an elastic waveguide model. It proves that under rather mild conditions on g the related solution semigroup possesses a local attractor.
