We report the measurement of the energies of the 4f → 3d, 3d → 2p and 2p → 1s atomic transitions in muonic 181Ta. Using transitions to and from the 1s and 2p levels, as well as the hyperfine splittings of the 2p and 3d states, we obtained the radial charge parameters assuming deformed Fermi distributions. We found the intrinsic static quadrupole moment Q0 = 6.82 ± 0.06 e · b, in excellent agreement with Coulomb excitation results. We verified that the dynamic (corresponding to transitions to the first excited state) and the static (ground state) E2 moments were equal to within 1.1 %. The intrinsic hexadecapole moment was determined to be Π0 = ?0.12 ± 0.40 e · b2.  相似文献

Conclusion In Table 3 we have listed the Q values of165Ho and181Ta obtained by the pionic methods from this experiment and the one from Ebersoldet. al. and also the results by the muonic methods.4, 5 They are all in good agreements within the experimental uncertainties around 1%. The large discrepency between the Q values of181Ta from Ref. 5 and Ref. 7 was discussed and explained in detail in Ref. 5.The o obtained in165Ho is comparable to the o calculated by using the Kisslinger's potential. However, the experimental o for181Ta from this experiment is 28% larger than the theoretical value by Scheck3 by using the perturbation method.As it was mentioned at the beginning of this paper that the strong interaction quadrupole effect introduces characteristic level broadening to each components of the multiplet. The excellent fit between the calculated composite curve with the observed experimental h.f.s. spectra could be obtained only by varying all three independent parameters Qeff, o and o. Without o, or 2, no satisfactory fitting could be obtained. That this illustrates the intrigue strong quadrupole effects on each components of a multiplet do behave as predicted by Scheck.3  相似文献

From the observed quadrupole splitting of the 5g-4f X-ray transition in π-165Ho we determine the spectroscopic quadrupole moment of 165Ho to be Q = 3.47±0.11 b. The strong interaction shift and the width of the 4f level are found to be ?0 = 0.35±0.08 keV and Γ0 = 0.21±0.04 keV, respectively.  相似文献

The quadrupole interaction (QI) in hexagonal close packed zinc lattice was measured using the 482 keV, 10.6 ns probe state of181Ta employing the time-differential perturbed angular correlation technique. The electric field gradient (EFG) at181Ta in Zn was derived from the measured quadrupole interaction frequency at room temperature asV zz =12.202×1017 V/cm2. The quadrupole interaction measured at various temperatures displayed normal temperature dependence similar to that seen by this probe in many non-cubic hosts.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of the atomic levels 5d 3 6s 2 4 F 7/2, 9/2 and4 P 1/2 in181Ta has been studied by atomic-beam magnetic-resonance. Using intermediate coupling wave functions derived for the configurations (5d+6s)5 the hyperfine structure data of six low-lying metastable states have been analyzed with respect to the effective operator formalism. The effective radial parameters for the magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole interactions are determined from these measurements and compared with relativistic calculations. The value obtained for the spectroscopic quadrupole moment of the181Ta nuclear ground state is Qhfs=3.44(17) barn (uncorrected for configuration interaction effects).  相似文献

A strong electric field gradient (EFG) has been observed at181 Ta in Pd and Zn metals using DPAC technique. The value of the EFG in Pd is found to be 12.5(8)×1017 V/cm2 with an asymmetry parameter () of 0.33(2). The value of the EFG in Zn has the same value as in the Pd metal, but the asymmetry parameter has the value 0.36(3). The variation of EFG in Pd with temperature has shown a weak dependence. The results are interpreted in terms of oxygen trapping at Hf atoms during the sample preparation.  相似文献

The time differential perturbed angular correlation measurements in PrNi5, NdNi5, GdNi5, DyNi5 and ErNi5 rare-earth intermetallics with181Ta as probe nuclei have revealed that these impurity nuclei experience a non-axial electric quadrupole interaction. In all the cases, except in GdNi5, the interaction frequency has a single value in the range 15–20 MHz with asymmetry parameter 0.98. In GdNi5, however, there are two interaction frequencies (13.61 MHz and 26.89 MHz), the former being the dominant one (90%) with 0.35 and the latter (10%) with 0.98. It is concluded that in all cases the probe nuclei experiencing the highly asymmetric electric field gradient (efg) occupy the unique Ni(3g) site. Annealing studies have shown that in the case of GdNi5 the interaction gets highly damped, while there is negligible effect in the other cases. The temperature variation of the efg in all cases seems to follow the empiricalT 3/2 relation.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the electric quadrupole interaction of181Ta in the Hf?As system has been investigated using the time-differential perturbed angular correlation technique. The sample was prepared by thermal diffusion of181Hf into arsenic metal and the measurements were made at 77, 300, 423, 573 and 673 K. Two quadrupole interaction frequencies were observed which had considerably high values and showed little variation over the entire temperature range. A TEM analysis of the sample showed the presence of two intermetallic compounds HfAs and HfAs2 to which the two frequencies were assigned.  相似文献

The effective quadrupole moments Qeff of the nuclei of 165Ho, 175Lu, 176Lu, 179Hf and 181Ta were accurately measured by detecting the pionic atom 5g-4f X-rays of the elements. The spectroscopic quadropole moments, Qspec, were obtained by correcting Qeff for nuclear finite size effect, distortion of the pion wave function by the pion-nucleus strong interaction, and contribution to the energy level splittings by the strong interaction. The intrinsic quadrupole moments, Q0, were obtained by projecting Qspec into the frame of reference fixed on the nucleus. The shift, ε0, and broadening, Γ0, of the 4f energy level due to the strong interaction between the pion and the nucleons for all the elements were also measured. Theoretical values of ε0 and Γ0 were calculated and compared to the experimental values. The measured values of Q0 were compared with existing results in muonic and pionic atoms. The measured values of ε0 and Γ0 were also compared with existing values.  相似文献

High-resolution TDPAC determination of EQI of181Ta in HfO2 is performed. Room temperature parameters of ωQ = 111 (1) MHz and η=0.36(1) are obtained. The temperature dependence of ωQ and η in the range 78–1100 K is established. An explanation of the observed phenomena in a dielectric lattice is discussed.  相似文献

High-spin states in 181Ta have been studied via the 176Yb(11B,α2n) reaction at 52 MeV using the PEX array and at 57 MeV using the NORDBALL array, with α-particle detection. The previously known, Kπ=(7/2)+ ground state band and Kπ=(9/2) band have been extended to spins (29/2)+ and (31/2), respectively. Two new one-quasiparticle bands, the Kπ=(5/2)+ band built on the known (5/2)+ isomer and a Kπ=((1/2)) band have been observed. Two other rotational bands with three-quasiparticle structure, Kπ=(15/2) and ((19/2)+ with π(7/2)[404]ν2(1/2)[510](9/2)[624] and π(9/2)[514]ν2(1/2)[510](9/2)[624] configurations, respectively, have been newly observed. The half-life of the Kπ=((19/2)+) bandhead which decays to the head of the (15/2) band has been measured to be 140(36) ns. However, transitions from the ((19/2)+) state to the (15/2) band have not been observed. Received: 26 August 1998  相似文献

The energies of muonic 2p-1s X-rays in 10B and 11B have been measured to be 52217(8) eV and 52279(5) eV, from which the rms nuclear charge radii were calculated to be 2.44(6) fm and 2.38(4) fm. The energies and widths of pionic 2p-1s X-rays have been measured in 10B to be 65901(13) eV and 1780(30) eV, and in 11B to be 65120(26) and 1720(80) eV. The sensitivity of the strong interaction shift to the neutron matter distributions has been investigated using an optical-model approach. The results of these calculations are not in good agreement with the experimental results when reasonable values of the nuclear matter distributions are used.  相似文献

Intensity patterns in the Balmer series of pionic X-rays emitted from carbon and oxygen in simple molecules are reported and analysed using a cascade code. It is shown that modifications are needed in the angular momentum distribution at the beginning of the cascade calculation in order to fit the data.  相似文献

Nuclear gamma resonance spectroscopy was used to study the hyperfine interaction of 181Ta impurities in nickel at room temperature and above the Curie point. Both the hyperfine field for 181Ta in nickel at room temperature and the isomer shift relative to Ta metal have been derived.  相似文献
