Vector-valued pseudo almost periodic functions are defined and their properties are investigated. The vector-valued functions contain many known functions as special cases. A unique decomposition theorem is given to show that a vector-valued pseudo almost periodic function is a sum of an almost periodic function and an ergodic perturbation.  相似文献

The principal aim of this paper is to show that weakly cone-convex vector-valued functions, as well as weakly cone-quasiconvex vector-valued functions, can be characterized in terms of usual weakly convexity and weakly quasiconvexity of certain real-valued functions, defined by means of the extreme directions of the polar cone or by Gerstewitz’s scalarization functions.  相似文献

We show that in two dimensions or higher, the Mordukhovich-Ioffe approximate subdifferential and Clarke subdifferential may differ almost everywhere for real-valued Lipschitz functions. Uncountably many Fréchet differentiable vector-valued Lipschitz functions differing by more than constants can share the same Mordukhovich-Ioffe coderivatives. Moreover, the approximate Jacobian associated with the Mordukhovich-Ioffe coderivative can be nonconvex almost everywhere for Fréchet differentiable vector-valued Lipschitz functions. Finally we show that for vector-valued Lipschitz functions the approximate Jacobian associated with the Mordukhovich-Ioffe coderivative can be almost everywhere disconnected.  相似文献

In this paper, we first give a generalization of Ky Fan's inequality to vector-valued functions. We prove that, for every vector-valued function (satisfying some continuity and convexity conditions), there exists at least one essential component of the set of its Ky Fan's points. As applications, we show that, for every multiobjective game (satisfying some continuity and convexity conditions), there exists at least one essential component of the set of its weakly Pareto-Nash equilibrium points.  相似文献

For the Potts model on the Cayley tree, we obtain some explicit formulas for the free energies and entropies in the case of vector-valued boundary conditions. We show that if (S(t)) t≧0 is a contraction semigroup on a closed convex subset of a uniformly convex Banach space, then every bounded and “asymptotically isometric” almost-orbit of (S(t)) t≧0 is weakly almost periodic in the sense of Eberlein. As one consequence, results on the existence of almost periodic solutions to the abstract Cauchy problem are obtained without the need fora priori compactness assumptions. As a further consequence, the known strong ergodic limit theorems for (almost-) orbits of nonlinear contraction semigroups turn out to be special cases of Eberlein’s classical ergodic theorem for weakly almost periodic functions.  相似文献

Lagrangian Duality and Cone Convexlike Functions   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In this paper, we consider first the most important classes of cone convexlike vector-valued functions and give a dual characterization for some of these classes. It turns out that these characterizations are strongly related to the closely convexlike and Ky Fan convex bifunctions occurring within minimax problems. Applying the Lagrangian perturbation approach, we show that some of these classes of cone convexlike vector-valued functions show up naturally in verifying strong Lagrangian duality for finite-dimensional optimization problems. This is achieved by extending classical convexity results for biconjugate functions to the class of so-called almost convex functions. In particular, for a general class of finite-dimensional optimization problems, strong Lagrangian duality holds if some vector-valued function related to this optimization problem is closely K-convexlike and satisfies some additional regularity assumptions. For K a full-dimensional convex cone, it turns out that the conditions for strong Lagrangian duality simplify. Finally, we compare the results obtained by the Lagrangian perturbation approach worked out in this paper with the results achieved by the so-called image space approach initiated by Giannessi.  相似文献

The core problem of dynamical systems is to study the asymptotic behaviors of orbits and their topological structures. It is well known that the orbits with certain recurrence and generating ergodic (or invariant) measures are important, such orbits form a full measure set for all invariant measures of the system, its closure is called the measure center of the system. To investigate this set, Zhou introduced the notions of weakly almost periodic point and quasi-weakly almost periodic point in 1990s, and presented some open problems on complexity of discrete dynamical systems in 2004. One of the open problems is as follows: for a quasi-weakly almost periodic point but not weakly almost periodic, is there an invariant measure generated by its orbit such that the support of this measure is equal to its minimal center of attraction (a closed invariant set which attracts its orbit statistically for every point and has no proper subset with this property)? Up to now, the problem remains open. In this paper, we construct two points in the one-sided shift system of two symbols, each of them generates a sub-shift system. One gives a positive answer to the question above, the other answers in the negative. Thus we solve the open problem completely. More important, the two examples show that a proper quasi-weakly almost periodic orbit behaves very differently with weakly almost periodic orbit.  相似文献

We consider one-dimensional inhomogeneous parabolic equations with higher-order elliptic differential operators subject to periodic boundary conditions. In our main result we show that the property of continuous maximal regularity is satisfied in the setting of periodic little-H?lder spaces, provided the coefficients of the differential operator satisfy minimal regularity assumptions. We address parameter-dependent elliptic equations, deriving invertibility and resolvent bounds which lead to results on generation of analytic semigroups. We also demonstrate that the techniques and results of the paper hold for elliptic differential operators with operator-valued coefficients, in the setting of vector-valued functions.  相似文献

We give necessary and sufficient conditions for sequences in the space AP(R) of continuous almost periodic functions on the real line to converge in the weak topology. The abstract results are illustrated by a number of examples which show that weak convergence seems to be a rare phenomenon. We also characterize the weakly compact subsets in AP(R). In particular, earlier statements made in the monograph by Dunford and Schwartz are refined and completed. We close with some open problems.  相似文献

It is shown that, under two additional assumptions, uniformly weakly persistent semiflows are also uniformly strongly persistent even if they are non-autonomous. This result is applied to a time-heterogeneous model of S-I-R-S type for the spread of infectious childhood diseases. If some of the parameter functions are almost periodic, an almost sharp threshold result is obtained for uniform strong endemicity versus extinction.
