Searches for the neutral Higgs bosons and are used to obtain limits on the Type II Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM(II)) with no CP–violation in the Higgs sector and no additional particles besides the five Higgs bosons. The analysis combines approximately 170 pb of data collected with the OPAL detector at GeV with previous runs at and GeV. The searches are sensitive to the and decay modes of the Higgs bosons. For the first time, the 2HDM(II) parameter space is explored in a detailed scan, and new flavour independent analyses are applied to examine regions in which the neutral Higgs bosons decay predominantly into light quarks or gluons. In this paper we propose a possible explanation to the Fermion mass hierarchy problem by fitting the type-II seesaw mechanism into the Higgs doublet sector, such that their vacuum expectation values are hierarchal. We extend the Standard Model with two extra Higgs doublets as well as a spontaneously broken UX(1) gauge symmetry. All the fermion Yukawa couplings except that of the top quark are of O(10-2) in our model. Constraints on the parameter space of the model from low energy processes are studied. Besides, the lightest one of the neutral fermion fields, which is introduced to cancel the anomalies of the U(1)X gauge symmetry can be the cold dark matter candidate. We investigate its signature in the dark matter direct detection.  相似文献

In this paper, charged Higgs pair production through l^+l^- → H^+ H^-, where l = e or μ, is studied within the framework of a general Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM). The analysis is relevant to a future e^+e^- or μ^+ μ^- collider operating at center of mass energy of √s = 500 GeV. Two different scenarios of small and large a values are studied. Here a is the parameter, which diagonMizes the neutral CP-even Higgs boson mass matrix. Within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), cross section of this process is almost the same at e+ e- and #+#- colliders. It is shown that at e^+e^- eolliders within a general 2HDM, cross section is not sensitive to the mass of neutral Higgs bosons, however, it can acquire large values up to several picobarn at μ^+μ^- colliders with the presence of heavy neutral Higgs bosons. A scan over Higgs boson mass parameter space is performed to analyze the effect of large masses of neutral Higgs bosons involved in the s-channel propagator and thus in the total cross section of this process.  相似文献

Using the form factors calculated both in lattice QCD and HQET, we analyze the branching ratio, double- lepton polarization asymmetries and averaged double-lepton polarization asymmetries of ∧b→∧μ+μ- decay in the 2HDM III, respectively. Combining the experimental constrains on the 2HDM III parameters, we take two set of representative parameter spaces in our calculations. For the branching ratio of ∧b→∧μ+μ- decay, considering the uncertainties of the form factors and input parameters, we find the results of both SM and 2HDM III can satisfy the current experimental data in the framework of lattice QCD, but not in HQET. Then we calculate the double-lepton polarization asymmetries Pij and their averaged values ij>, we find the double-lepton polarization asymmetries PLT, PNN, and PTT are sensitive to the 2HDM III. However, PLN, PNL, PNT, and PTN show the opposite results. The contribution of the 2HDM III to their averaged values have similar results.  相似文献

With the fresh experimental bounds of b→sγ issued by CLEO and the value of the topquark mass by CDF and DO, the constraints on the two Higgs doublet models (2HDM) are re-examined. In the examination an effective Lagrangian is used, which contains all of the energy scale evolution not only from the W boson mass to the bottom-quark mass but also from the top-quark mass to W boson mass for the QCD corrections. As a result, it is implied that the constraint on the mass of the charged Higgs boson emerging in the concerned models turns to be more stringent than that achieved by the earlier analyses.  相似文献

It is shown that an SU(2) Higgs model on a lattice is equivalent to the Georgi-Glashow model in the limit of a small coupling constant between the Higgs and gauge fields. It can therefore be concluded that the transition between the confinement and symmetric phases in a 3 + 1 dimensional SU(2) Higgs model at finite temperature is accompanied by condensation of Nambu monopoles. In this study,we perform a detailed analysis on the same-sign dilepton signature in the inert doublet model.Focusing on the low dark matter mass region,we randomly scan the corresponding parameter space.Viable samples allowed by various constraints are obtained,and among them are twenty benchmark points that are selected for further study on collider signature.At hadron colliders,the same-sign dilepton signature is produced via pp→W~(±*)W~(±*)jj→H~±H~±jj with the leptonic decay mode H~±→HW~±(→l~±v),where H represents the dark matter candidate.We investigate the testability of this signal at the high-luminosity LHC(HL-LHC) and the proposed 27 TeV high-energy LHC(HE-LHC).According to our simulation,the HL-LHC with L=3 ab~(-1) can barely probe this signal.Meanwhile,for the HE-LHC with L=15 ab~(-1),it is promising to obtain a 5σ significance when ■ with dark matter mass m_H~60 or 71 GeV.  相似文献

An introduction is made to the key concepts of gauge invariance and spontaneous symmetry breaking which are the foundations of the Standard Model of particle physics. A new scalar field corresponding to a spin-0 particle, the Higgs boson, is a necessary consequence of this model. Properties of the Higgs boson are constrained; however, its mass is not. Searches using LEP have been both unique, intense, and also efficient: the Standard Model Higgs boson must be heavier than 114 GeV/c2. A hint of a signal was obtained at 115 GeV/c2, but will have to be confirmed (or falsified) by forthcoming experiments at the Tevatron and LHC. To cite this article: M. Davier, C. R.
