In this paper, we establish functional convergence theorems for second order quadratic variations of Gaussian processes which admit a singularity function. First, we prove a functional almost sure convergence theorem, and a functional central limit theorem, for the process of second order quadratic variations, and we illustrate these results with the example of the fractional Brownian sheet (FBS). Second, we do the same study for the process of localized second order quadratic variations, and we apply the results to the multifractional Brownian motion (MBM).  相似文献

In this paper, we prove some limit theorems for the Fourier estimator of multivariate volatility proposed by Malliavin and Mancino (2002, 2009) [14] and [15]. In a general framework of discrete time observations we establish the convergence of the estimator and some associated central limit theorems with explicit asymptotic variance. In particular, our results show that this estimator is consistent for synchronous data, but possibly biased for non-synchronous observations. Moreover, from our general central limit theorem, we deduce that the estimator can be efficient in the case of a synchronous regular sampling. In the non-synchronous sampling case, the expression of the asymptotic variance is in general less tractable. We study this case more precisely through the example of an alternate sampling.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the semiparametric regression model, y=Xβ+f+ε. Recently, Hu [11] proposed ridge regression estimator in a semiparametric regression model. We introduce a Liu-type (combined ridge-Stein) estimator (LTE) in a semiparametric regression model. Firstly, Liu-type estimators of both β and f are attained without a restrained design matrix. Secondly, the LTE estimator of β is compared with the two-step estimator in terms of the mean square error. We describe the almost unbiased Liu-type estimator in semiparametric regression models. The almost unbiased Liu-type estimator is compared with the Liu-type estimator in terms of the mean squared error matrix. A numerical example is provided to show the performance of the estimators.  相似文献

In competing risks studies, the Kaplan-Meier estimators of the distribution functions (DFs) of lifetimes and the corresponding estimators of cumulative incidence functions (CIFs) are used widely when no prior information is available for these distributions. In some cases better estimators of the DFs of lifetimes are available when they obey some inequality constraints, e.g., if two lifetimes are stochastically or uniformly stochastically ordered, or some functional of a DF obeys an inequality in an empirical likelihood estimation procedure. If the restricted estimator of a lifetime differs from the unrestricted one, then the usual estimators of the CIFs will not add up to the lifetime estimator. In this paper we show how to estimate the CIFs in this case. These estimators are shown to be strongly uniformly consistent. In all cases we consider, when the inequality constraints are strict the asymptotic properties of the restricted and the unrestricted estimators are the same, thus providing the asymptotic properties of the restricted estimators essentially “free of charge”. We give an example to illustrate our procedure.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the problem of the estimation of a distribution on an arbitrary complete separable metric space when the data points are subject to censoring by a general class of random sets. If the censoring mechanism is either totally observable or totally ordered, a reverse probability estimator may be defined in this very general framework. Functional central limit theorems are proven for the estimator when the underlying space is Euclidean. Applications are discussed, and the validity of bootstrap methods is established in each case.  相似文献

We construct and investigate a consistent kernel-type nonparametric estimator of the intensity function of a cyclic Poisson process when the period is unknown. We do not assume any particular parametric form for the intensity function, nor do we even assume that it is continuous. Moreover, we consider the situation when only a single realization of the Poisson process is available, and only in a bounded window. We prove, in particular, that the proposed estimator is consistent when the size of the window indefinitely expands. We also obtain complete convergence of the estimator.  相似文献

We assume that only a single realization of the Poisson process is observed in a bounded window which expands in time. We study a random design regression model generated by dependent observations, when the regression function itself (or its ν-th derivative) may have a change or discontinuity point. A method based on the local polynomial fits with one-sided kernels to estimate the location and the jump size of the change point is applied in this paper. When the jump location is known, a central limit theorem for the estimator of the jump size is established; when the jump location is unknown, we first obtain a functional limit theorem for a local dilated-rescaled version estimator of the jump size and then give the asymptotic distributions for the estimators of the location and the jump size of the change point. The asymptotic results obtained in this paper can be viewed as extensions of corresponding results for independent observations. Furthermore, a simulated example is given to show that our theory and method perform well in practice.  相似文献

We consider a recurrent Markov process which is an Itô semi-martingale. The Lévy kernel describes the law of its jumps. Based on observations X0,XΔ,…,XnΔX0,XΔ,,XnΔ, we construct an estimator for the Lévy kernel’s density. We prove its consistency (as nΔ→∞nΔ and Δ→0Δ0) and a central limit theorem. In the positive recurrent case, our estimator is asymptotically normal; in the null recurrent case, it is asymptotically mixed normal. Our estimator’s rate of convergence equals the non-parametric minimax rate of smooth density estimation. The asymptotic bias and variance are analogous to those of the classical Nadaraya–Watson estimator for conditional densities. Asymptotic confidence intervals are provided.  相似文献

A multivariate measure of association is proposed, which extends the bivariate copula-based measure Phi-Square introduced by Hoeffding [22]. We discuss its analytical properties and calculate its explicit value for some copulas of simple form; a simulation procedure to approximate its value is provided otherwise. A nonparametric estimator for multivariate Phi-Square is derived and its asymptotic behavior is established based on the weak convergence of the empirical copula process both in the case of independent observations and dependent observations from strictly stationary strong mixing sequences. The asymptotic variance of the estimator can be estimated by means of nonparametric bootstrap methods. For illustration, the theoretical results are applied to financial asset return data.  相似文献

The censored linear regression model, also referred to as the accelerated failure time (AFT) model when the logarithm of the survival time is used as the response variable, is widely seen as an alternative to the popular Cox model when the assumption of proportional hazards is questionable. Buckley and James [Linear regression with censored data, Biometrika 66 (1979) 429-436] extended the least squares estimator to the semiparametric censored linear regression model in which the error distribution is completely unspecified. The Buckley-James estimator performs well in many simulation studies and examples. The direct interpretation of the AFT model is also more attractive than the Cox model, as Cox has pointed out, in practical situations. However, the application of the Buckley-James estimation was limited in practice mainly due to its illusive variance. In this paper, we use the empirical likelihood method to derive a new test and confidence interval based on the Buckley-James estimator of the regression coefficient. A standard chi-square distribution is used to calculate the P-value and the confidence interval. The proposed empirical likelihood method does not involve variance estimation. It also shows much better small sample performance than some existing methods in our simulation studies.  相似文献

Multivariate dependence of spacings of generalized order statistics is studied. It is shown that spacings of generalized order statistics from DFR (IFR) distributions have the CIS (CDS) property. By restricting the choice of the model parameters and strengthening the assumptions on the underlying distribution, stronger dependence relations are established. For instance, if the model parameters are decreasingly ordered and the underlying distribution has a log-convex decreasing (log-concave) hazard rate, then the spacings satisfy the MTP2 (S- MRR2) property. Some consequences of the results are given. In particular, conditions for non-negativity of the best linear unbiased estimator of the scale parameter in a location-scale family are obtained. By applying a result for dual generalized order statistics, we show that in the particular situation of usual order statistics the assumptions can be weakened.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the estimation of a density function based on censored data by the kernel smoothing method when the survival and the censoring times form a stationary α-mixing sequence. A Berry-Esseen type bound is derived for the kernel density estimator at a fixed point x. For practical purposes, a randomly weighted estimator of the density function is also constructed and investigated.  相似文献

We consider random fields defined by finite-region conditional probabilities depending on a neighborhood of the region which changes with the boundary conditions. To predict the symbols within any finite region, it is necessary to inspect a random number of neighborhood symbols which might change according to the value of them. In analogy with the one-dimensional setting we call these neighborhood symbols the context associated to the region at hand. This framework is a natural extension, to d-dimensional fields, of the notion of variable length Markov chains introduced by Rissanen [24] in his classical paper. We define an algorithm to estimate the radius of the smallest ball containing the context based on a realization of the field. We prove the consistency of this estimator. Our proofs are constructive and yield explicit upper bounds for the probability of wrong estimation of the radius of the context.  相似文献

In this paper, some nonparametric approaches of density function estimation are developed when censoring indicators are missing at random. A conditional mean score based estimator and a mean score estimator are suggested, respectively. The two estimators are proved to be asymptotically normal and uniformly strongly consistent. The bandwidth selection problem is also discussed. A simulation study is conducted to compare finite-sample behaviors of the proposed estimators.  相似文献

Under weak conditions of smoothness and mixing, we propose spline-backfitted spline (SBS) estimators of the component functions for a nonlinear additive autoregression model that is both computationally expedient for analyzing high dimensional large time series data, and theoretically reliable as the estimator is oracally efficient and comes with asymptotically simultaneous confidence band. In this article we consider the volatility inference in the presence of both market microstructure noise and endogenous time. Estimators of the integrated volatility in such a setting are proposed, and their asymptotic properties are studied. Our proposed estimator is compared with the existing popular volatility estimators via numerical studies. The results show that our estimator can have substantially better performance when time endogeneity exists.  相似文献

The model we discuss in this paper deals with inequality in distribution in the presence of a covariate. To elucidate that dependence, we propose to consider the composition of the cumulative quantile regression (CQR) function and the Goldie concentration curve, the standardized counterpart of which gives a fraction to fraction plot of the response and the covariate. It has the merit of enhancing the visibility of inequality in distribution when the latter is present. We shall examine the asymptotic properties of the corresponding empirical estimator. The associated empirical process involves a randomly stopped partial sum process of induced order statistics. Strong Gaussian approximations of the processes are constructed. The result forms the basis for the asymptotic theory of functional statistics based on these processes.  相似文献

This paper considers the nonparametric M-estimator in a nonlinear cointegration type model. The local time density argument, which was developed by Phillips and Park (1998) [6] and Wang and Phillips (2009) [9], is applied to establish the asymptotic theory for the nonparametric M-estimator. The weak consistency and the asymptotic distribution of the proposed estimator are established under mild conditions. Meanwhile, the asymptotic distribution of the local least squares estimator and the local least absolute distance estimator can be obtained as applications of our main results. Furthermore, an iterated procedure for obtaining the nonparametric M-estimator and a cross-validation bandwidth selection method are discussed, and some numerical examples are provided to show that the proposed methods perform well in the finite sample case.  相似文献
